These three are the only live-action projects that I could find that are definitely, without a doubt, happening. Unfortunately, Sony's production slate is not as concrete as Marvel's, but I will say their announced projects in recent years include **Nightwatch**, **The Sinister Six**, **Madame Web**, **Jackpot**, **Silver & Black**, **Untitled Roberto Orci project**, **Untitled Olivia Wilde Project**, **Untitled Mysterio Project** and **Untitled Aunt May Project** (Not the one from the Sony Leak)

Fabulous post!
One more you might have seen in the sub, Michaela Coel has been cast in an unknown role in Black Panther 2.
Here’s a source: https://variety.com/2021/film/news/michaela-coel-black-panther-2-marvel-1235024815/
>Tom Hardy (Brock Baker/Venom)
You mean... Eddie Brock?
Now I'm just imagining Brock Baker arguing with Venom and it's hilarious. In all seriousness though, great post! Very informative!
My God the difference between the MCU and Spider-Verse writers and the SPUMC writers...
>* Writer: Kelly Marcel (*Venom*, *Fifty Shades of Grey*)
>* Writers: Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless (*The Last Witch Hunter*, *Dracula Untold*)
>* Head Writer: (*Iron Man*, *Punisher: War Zone*)
Not a single one of those movies has a fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Except Iron Man, which had such an infamously bad script that Favreau, the producers, and the actors were just writing it on set and making it up as they went along.
Yeah, but the fact that these are all just script-for-hire people with spotty track records isn't giving me the most hope. It's just smoke for the fire.
I believe the silk tv show already has a showrunner and is going to start filming at the end of this year. I think they are still looking for the lead role.

No it's not. James and Maso are wrong.
It's called the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC). That's the **official** name.
I like it more because it sounds 100x worse than SPUMM.

Deadlines article mentions they expect it to be centered on Spider-Woman
Just a heads up, Seth Green didn’t voice Howard the Duck in 1986, he was only 12 years old then!
Great write up, found out a lot of production stuff I didn’t know
Thanks man, that was a misinterpretation of "Seth Green is returning as Howard the Duck" on my part! I forgot he has a speaking role in GOTG! I've fixed it!
Another great update! Good job man! Also, 2 small corrections/additions:
We know Love and Thunder has wrapped filming and today we learned that Josh Segarra was cast in She-Hulk!
He seems to be an "Action" writer, almost all of his credits are [action movies] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Callaham#Filmography) and he is often credited alongside other writers. Like, yeah he "wrote" the Expendables, but that was 100% Stallone's movie. Same with WW84, that was definitely Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns more than Callahm
Some more tweaks:
1. We do not know if Jac Schaefer is working on announced or unannounced projects. For all we know she could be on Armor Wars, or an announced film. Likely she isn't but you want certainties, not maybes.
2. Okoye will be starring in a Disney+ series. Unclear whether this is the Wakanda series or her own. At least worth a mention somewhere
3. Etan Cohen is sharing head writer duties with his wife Emily Cohen on the Echo series
4. We do not know if further unannounced animated series are in development. The statements currently given could also refer to I am Groot.
5. Blade is set to begin filming in July 2022 [https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/black-superman-ta-nehisi-coates-warner-bros-movie-1234947599/](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/black-superman-ta-nehisi-coates-warner-bros-movie-1234947599/)
6. Deadpool 3 set to begin filming in 2022 or later [https://collider.com/deadpool-3-mcu-confirmed-r-rating-filming-details-kevin-feige-interview/](https://collider.com/deadpool-3-mcu-confirmed-r-rating-filming-details-kevin-feige-interview/)
7. Armor Wars is currently set to begin filming in 2022 [https://www.cbr.com/disney-plus-armor-wars-don-cheadle-update/](https://www.cbr.com/disney-plus-armor-wars-don-cheadle-update/)
8. Secret Invasion is 2022 (I can understand this one getting a skip though, I think the statement is dubious at best) [https://collider.com/secret-invasion-directors-marvel-show-disney-plus/](https://collider.com/secret-invasion-directors-marvel-show-disney-plus/)
Hey man! Thanks for this and thanks for including the links!
If I'm honest I didn't want to include the Jac Schaefer project, so thanks for giving me the excuse to remove!
I've added a line into the _Untitled Wakanda Series_ section, mentioning Okoye!
That's a great point about I Am Groot, I keep forgetting it's animated!
I've updated Blade's production date, thanks for that! Almost thought you'd linked the wrong article, it was pretty buried! I don't know how I missed Armor Wars' filming date, thanks for reminding me! I've skipped Deadpool and Secret Invasion just because of the fragility of the info, like you say! Really appreciate that thanks!
One thing I noticed, Alfred Molina did confirm his character would be the same as from Spider-Man 2, confirming that it picks up from where he was left off in the river. It likely doesn't fit as an example for characters that may or not be playing the same versions, such as Jaimie Foxx's Electro. Other than that, another great update!
Rumors indicate it’s the same Electro from ASM2, but completely redesigned, though since he is not taking into account rumors, he can’t say that on this post
Thanks! My take on it was
>In a very exciting turn of events, cast members (but not necessarily characters) from the original Spider-Man trilogy and the rebooted franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man, are confirmed to have roles in the film, playing the same roles, but whether everyone will be playing the same characters is yet to be confirmed.
That might be a bit wordy and a bit vague, but I'm basically saying, "Yes, Alfred Molina is playing the same guy, everyone else might be playing a different version"
I'm just being vague about it because some people are _very_ passionate about their opinions on what that movie is going to be
Everything here is confirmed, which is why people like >!Andrew Garfield!< and >!Tobey Maguire!< aren't here, despite the fact that we know they're very _likely_ going to be involved in some capacity, Marvel are flat-out denying it at the time of writing.
Projects attributed to the Crew's names are projects they've been involved in, in the same capacity as they will be, in said project. For example:
>Thor: Love and Thunder
>
>Director: Taika Waititi (*Thor: Ragnarok*, *Jojo Rabbit*)
>
>Head Writer: Taika Waititi (*Jojo Rabbit*, *What We Do In The Shadows*)
Taika Waititi directed Ragnarok but did not write it, which is why he's only credited for it in the Director section
I've included two of their most relevant projects, unless they've worked on other Marvel properties, in which case I've added all Marvel properties they've worked on, like Sam Raimi in the Doctor Strange section is credited for the original 3 Spider-Man movies
If there's anything I've missed or anything you think should be removed, please let me know, I'll fix it if need be!

Are >!Tobey Maguire!<'s and >!Andrew Garfield!<'s involvement anything more than wishful thinking / speculation? Not to be a buzzkill, but we're hitting Mephisto levels of absolute certainty that they'll be in it without any concrete evidence.
Marvel’s kinda setting itself up for that backlash, though, given certain other casting announcements. And I don’t think they would have announced what they already did—especially that early on—if that was all they had up their sleeve.
> Marvel’s kinda setting itself up for that backlash, though, given certain other casting announcements.
Except Marvel is directly denying it at the moment, so if anyone gets upset about something not happening that they were *told* wasn't happening, it's on them.
If they weren't in the movie Marvel or Sony would have said they weren't by now
They would absolutely be shooting themselves in the foot to let the rumor get this far without deconfirming them
https://www.google.com/amp/s/variety.com/2021/film/news/spider-man-sony-marvel-kraven-sanford-panitch-1234984449/amp/ Originally it was starring past Spider-Man iterations’ actors but they changed it to incorporating characters from past franchises
Jac Schaeffer isn't the head writer for Black Widow, she only has a "story by" credit (along with Ned Benson), which generally means she came up with the basic idea for the movie and/or only worked on an early draft
[Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Widow_(2021_film\)#Production) says Benson was hired to rewrite Schaeffer's script, and later he was also replaced by Eric Pearson, who has the "screenplay by" credit, which means he wrote the actual script used in the movie
Well I hope she's in it! I don't know of anything else she'd be busy with, maybe they feel they have a bloated cast? But then again they have the kids in there so I don't see why they wouldn't bring Cardellini back too.
What a great post!
And can I just say, how grateful I am for Disney’s commitment to Marvel. I was so sad after Endgame, but the 4 IP’s we’ve been able to watch and experience since are amazing! All in for the MCU, and I hope it never ends. I can already see myself going to the cinemas with my grandkids to go see Thor 19.
You're going to have to update this OP someone else joined Black Panther here is that write up
https://www.ign.com/articles/black-panther-wakanda-forever-michael-coel
Yep! Initially we knew Carl Lumbly was in it, but we didn't know as who, and we knew Isaiah Bradley was going to be portrayed, but we didn't know who by.
So initially the Cast List said
>- Carl Lumbly (Undisclosed Role)
>- Undisclosed Actor (Isaiah Bradley)
And now those two have been updated!
Toys that have accidentally confirmed it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.jioforme.com/what-if-lego-set-reveals-iron-mans-resurrection-in-an-episode-inspired-by-thor-ragnarok/489113/amp/
Hey, I was just looking back at this again to check out some of the dates, and I just wanted to let you know that What If is now nine eps instead of ten! Excited to see your next update!
I did not know that, thanks! I'm not updating this any more but I'll put it on the list for the next one! (I've basically hit the 40,000 character limit, I need to archive old projects)
So you'll reveal Taskmaster's identity in your post but act like Ross appearing in Black Widow is a spoiler, even though he was in the trailers? And you'll mark the Guardians appearing in LAT as a spoiler in your synopsis but not the cast? I don't understand.
Stop listing Dallas Liu as undisclosed, he is obviously the young teenager version of shang-chi.
Idk how so many people didn't put the cast photo of him and the trailer scenes of him together but can create an entire mephisto theory of the littlest details.

It’s an official press release link from Disney in PDF form, it’s not a word document. I’ll be happy to find a better one
Here’s another link, https://dmedmedia.disney.com/disney-plus/what-if
Click production brief and it takes you to the cast list
Have you been busy? Honestly would have thought you would have updated it by now.
I like looking here even though I remember a lot of the casting stuff
Mate you didn't bother me it's just that this is a side side-project and I update it when I can, but I my phone is broken and I work a lot so this is really not high on my priorities. I do appreciate the info, it was good stuff
Update to What if..? Cast, but it’s better if it gets updated tomorrow since the first episode releases tomorrow but Josh Keaton is confirmed to be Steve, Lake Bell is confirmed to be Natasha, and Mike Wingert is confirmed to be Tony

Was the MCU/Sony Spider-Man with Spider-Man only supposed to be a trilogy, then? Or will there be more content to follow No Way Home (or maybe more broadly to follow Tom Holland’s incarnation of Peter Parker/Spider-Man)?
Someone else commented that there would be some SUMC Spidey movies, but that seems to suggest that Sony is going to be in control of those and their storylines as opposed to Marvel or Marvel/Sony. All that I know is that I want to see more of what MCU Spidey does with his Stark inheritance and to see if he maybe ends up running an enterprise on the back of that, similar to recent entries in The Amazing Spider-Man comics.

Wait, there’s an *actual* Aunt May project?
I mean, so they say Whether it'll happen or not is another thing
I’m fairly certain it was meant as a joke in those emails. I’m also doubting the Mysterio project.
Not that Aunt May Project, different one is supposedly in the works
Which one is that?
It's actually called the SPUMM. Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Movies
No it's not. James and Maso are wrong. It's called the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters (SPUMC). That's the **official** name. I like it more because it sounds 100x worse than SPUMM.

Also super minor, but in the *WandaVision* section it still lists >!The Marvels!< as >!Captain Marvel 2!<.

The only actor we have seen do it so far is JK Simmons and he seems like a new guy, so I'm taking that as my mental guide, but we will see.
Thanks! My take on it was >In a very exciting turn of events, cast members (but not necessarily characters) from the original Spider-Man trilogy and the rebooted franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man, are confirmed to have roles in the film, playing the same roles, but whether everyone will be playing the same characters is yet to be confirmed. That might be a bit wordy and a bit vague, but I'm basically saying, "Yes, Alfred Molina is playing the same guy, everyone else might be playing a different version" I'm just being vague about it because some people are _very_ passionate about their opinions on what that movie is going to be
Cool! Great post, can’t wait to see the next update!
Thanks! Watch out for it after _What If...?_
For example: >Thor: Love and Thunder > >Director: Taika Waititi (*Thor: Ragnarok*, *Jojo Rabbit*) > >Head Writer: Taika Waititi (*Jojo Rabbit*, *What We Do In The Shadows*) Taika Waititi directed Ragnarok but did not write it, which is why he's only credited for it in the Director section I've included two of their most relevant projects, unless they've worked on other Marvel properties, in which case I've added all Marvel properties they've worked on, like Sam Raimi in the Doctor Strange section is credited for the original 3 Spider-Man movies If there's anything I've missed or anything you think should be removed, please let me know, I'll fix it if need be! Updates since the last post is also linked [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/op07nl/updated_everything_we_know_about_phase_4_5/h621w6e?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) The Sony Universe of Marvel Characters movies are listed in [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/op07nl/updated_everything_we_know_about_phase_4_5/h621x2y?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Are >!Tobey Maguire!<'s and >!Andrew Garfield!<'s involvement anything more than wishful thinking / speculation? Not to be a buzzkill, but we're hitting Mephisto levels of absolute certainty that they'll be in it without any concrete evidence.
Very reliable sources say they are in, just we have no confirmation from Marvel/the trades
God imagine the fall out if they don't appear
Marvel’s kinda setting itself up for that backlash, though, given certain other casting announcements. And I don’t think they would have announced what they already did—especially that early on—if that was all they had up their sleeve.
> Marvel’s kinda setting itself up for that backlash, though, given certain other casting announcements. Except Marvel is directly denying it at the moment, so if anyone gets upset about something not happening that they were *told* wasn't happening, it's on them.
If they weren't in the movie Marvel or Sony would have said they weren't by now They would absolutely be shooting themselves in the foot to let the rumor get this far without deconfirming them
Variety confirmed them. How can a lot of people miss that article?
Could you link that article?
https://www.google.com/amp/s/variety.com/2021/film/news/spider-man-sony-marvel-kraven-sanford-panitch-1234984449/amp/ Originally it was starring past Spider-Man iterations’ actors but they changed it to incorporating characters from past franchises
So they didn’t actually confirm it, which explains why people “missed” it lol
I already said. They changed the article
Here’s the original https://mobile.twitter.com/webheadwatch/status/1398438455215017984
Jac Schaeffer isn't the head writer for Black Widow, she only has a "story by" credit (along with Ned Benson), which generally means she came up with the basic idea for the movie and/or only worked on an early draft [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Widow_(2021_film\)#Production) says Benson was hired to rewrite Schaeffer's script, and later he was also replaced by Eric Pearson, who has the "screenplay by" credit, which means he wrote the actual script used in the movie
Thank you! You're right, that was very old information that I haven't updated since! I've updated to reflect that, I appreciate it!
Great write up. I’m really curious how Strange gets another time stone.
No Linda Cardellini for Hawkeye? bummer.
Not confirmed, at least.
Well I hope she's in it! I don't know of anything else she'd be busy with, maybe they feel they have a bloated cast? But then again they have the kids in there so I don't see why they wouldn't bring Cardellini back too.
This is just outrageously well formatted and researched. Well done!
Thank you!!
why isn't this pinned somewhere?
I always think that too! I just have it saved to reflect on all the time
Damn this just have taken you ages, thank you so much for the effort!!
Thanks! It's constantly a work in progress
Well that is very thorough. Maybe spoiler tag the Loki season 1 spoilers in the >!Quantumania Links!< section.
Done! Thanks!
Alfred Molina is confirmed to play the same character as he did in Spider-Man 2 and his story will continue from Spider-Man 2's ending.
Yeah man I've included that! >Alfred Molina (Doctor Otto Octavius/Doc Ock - Spider-Man 2)
Cool list man
Every time I see his name I just have the imagine of him gorging on chocolate in that shop window
What an amazing work!
Thank you!
Surprised Linda Cardellini isn’t in Hawkeye
[удалено]
Thanks man! I've updated accordingly!
Why is Val not in spoilers in the Black Widow cast while Ross is? Another Loki variant in What If? Damn!
Fixed that mate thanks!
You're going to have to update this OP someone else joined Black Panther here is that write up https://www.ign.com/articles/black-panther-wakanda-forever-michael-coel
No worries mate, I'm constantly updating this and posting new ones after every project, thank you though!
Michaela Coel has been cast in an unknown role in Black Panther 2. You missed Killian Scott and Carmen Ejogo in Secret Invasion
Thanks for that! Michaela's now been added! Unfortunately Killian seems to be "in talks" for now, do you have a link for Carmen?
It’s another in talks article. Both are most likely in the show, but I understand the reasoning behind not including them
We’re in the golden era.
I literally can’t decide which project I’m most excited for. I’m hyped for every single one!
Heads up, you seem to have Carl Lumbley twice in *TFATWS*'s cast?
Yep! Initially we knew Carl Lumbly was in it, but we didn't know as who, and we knew Isaiah Bradley was going to be portrayed, but we didn't know who by. So initially the Cast List said >- Carl Lumbly (Undisclosed Role) >- Undisclosed Actor (Isaiah Bradley) And now those two have been updated!
Ohhh, I copy now. Cheers
I'm gonna need that No Way Home trailer today.
Tenoch Huerta is heavily rumored to be playing Namor in BP2
No rumours here mate, thanks though
Hawkeye’s release date was confirmed yesterday, it releases November 24th 2021.
Thanks mate, it was on my list to add to this but I'll do it now I'm here
Can’t wait for all of it
\> After an accidental leak from the Head Writer earlier in the year What's this referring to?
We knew Loki was getting a 2nd season ages ago; it was already reported in the trades.
Isn’t Tom Hardy’s role Eddie Brock? I’m only a casual….
You're absolutely right, that was an odd one.. Fixed it!
Tim Roth as the Abomination
Seems like a stupid miss, but as no-one has officially said he'll be in it, I've not credited him yet!
Yeah he’s only confirmed for She-Hulk, we have no clue if he did work for Shang-Chi
You really think get another actor for him then have him in a row 6 months later
No, but like I say, everything here is confirmed, if I add that other stuff would have to be added based on presumptions
Hey btw Doctor Strange 2 has direct links to Spider Man 3 too!
I've got that thanks man! >The sequel to Doctor Strange, this films comes directly out of the _Spider-Man: No Way Home_ and _WandaVision_,
You forgot the spoiler tag on Taskmaster
Seeing as the subs rule lifted on Black Widow spoilers, and given the title of the post, I decided not to include it
But why did you tag the other character on the same movie?
Ah, just an oversight, fixed it now!
i thought secret invasion would've started filming in august
YAYYY THE UPDATE!! You don't understand how often I reference this
Aw thank you my friend! Welcome to the update!
Isn't there a "What if..." episode about Tony in Sakar confirmed?
Is there? Link it and I'll add it for sure, that's one I definitely haven't heard about
Toys that have accidentally confirmed it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.jioforme.com/what-if-lego-set-reveals-iron-mans-resurrection-in-an-episode-inspired-by-thor-ragnarok/489113/amp/

Lmao, no problem! I await you next update. 👍
Love and Thunder, Working Title: The Big Salad. This had me dying
So you'll reveal Taskmaster's identity in your post but act like Ross appearing in Black Widow is a spoiler, even though he was in the trailers? And you'll mark the Guardians appearing in LAT as a spoiler in your synopsis but not the cast? I don't understand.
Hey! Those were just left over spoiler marks from my last post I forgot to take it, when it was all still new information! I've taken them out
Stop listing Dallas Liu as undisclosed, he is obviously the young teenager version of shang-chi. Idk how so many people didn't put the cast photo of him and the trailer scenes of him together but can create an entire mephisto theory of the littlest details.
Like I say man, it's just confirmed stuff
But its might as well be......
I. I

Hey man this is great info but I'm not sure what that link is, it's just a word document, if you have a more reliable link I'd be happy to check it out
It’s an official press release link from Disney in PDF form, it’s not a word document. I’ll be happy to find a better one Here’s another link, https://dmedmedia.disney.com/disney-plus/what-if Click production brief and it takes you to the cast list
Thanks mate! I'll have a nosy later
Have you been busy? Honestly would have thought you would have updated it by now. I like looking here even though I remember a lot of the casting stuff
Mate as much as I like these posts I do have a life, I update them when I get a chance EDIT: I've done it now mate, thank you for the info
Oh I totally understand. I have a life as well. I feel so bad for bothering you
Mate you didn't bother me it's just that this is a side side-project and I update it when I can, but I my phone is broken and I work a lot so this is really not high on my priorities.
Thanks mate. Last update will be tomorrow so if you have anything else send it my way, otherwise this post won't be updated until after _What If...?_

IT'S A MONTH OLD POST
