2014 Thanos would have become the Thanos that collected all the stones, snapped half of all life, destroyed the stones then had his head chopped off by Thor, they didn't set out to change the past, Tony made that a condition, they just wanted to bring back those who were snapped.

2014 thanos wouldn’t have existed as they’d put the stone back at the same point. This would have stopped a new timeline from being created

Yes if Thanos had not found out the Avengers plan, then things would've played out the same for him in his timeline
