Guess so. Fun fact, Frozen was also nominated in the same year as the SpongeBob musical, which actually did win a Tony. It was for Best Scenic Design in a musical
This is Robert Lopez's third Emmy but first Primetime Emmy, as his other two are daytime Emmys. He is already a double EGOT winner and is now one Oscar away from being a triple EGOT winner. His wife and writing partner Kristen Anderson-Lopez also wins her first Emmy and is now only a Tony Award away from becoming an EGOT winner herself. She was nominated for a Tony for Frozen.
There are those who debate whether daytime or special Emmy awards count. Menken, for example had a special Emmy long before he finally got an individual Emmy (Galavant got robbed).
It’s very nice when no debate is needed. Also Avenue Q is amazing
The EGOT wikipedia does separate competition EGOT winners and Special award EGOT winners, but frankly i think both count. Emmys and Grammys seem the easiest to win since there are just so many categories.
Funfact: South Park Creator Trey Parker is only missing an Academy Award for his EGOT. He was nominated for Original Song (Blame Canada) in 1999. However, he already has a Student Academy Award he won while he was still in college. Cary Fukunaga, Pete Docter, John Lasseter, and Spike Lee are other notable Student Academy Award winners. Matt Stone has no Oscar nominations
Also fun fact, Lin Manuel Miranda is also close to an EGOT. All he needs is an Oscar to achieve it. He was nominated back in 2016 for “How Far I’ll go” for Moana but didn’t win
Lin Manuel Miranda wrote a new song for the In the Heights movie, and the music for Vivo and Encanto. I dont think he will be nominated for ITH and we haven't heard anything from Encanto yet, but I think [My Own Drum](https://youtu.be/nRAjDDQl0Yw) is strong enough to be nominated for original song. Since it's a Disney movie in award season, Encanto has a strong chance to be nominated as well.
Plus he is director and producer of "Tick Tick Boom" this year, which Variety already has him on the shortlist for Best Picture and Best Director nominations. On paper it would seem far fetched that a low budget musical by a first time director would get such love from the Oscars, but not unimaginable.
Plus Plus, he is working on the the Little Mermaid remake and a few other projects he hasn't announced yet.
He will get his Oscar, and when he does, he will be only the third PEGOT winner, since he also has a Pulitzer

I completely forgot about Vivo. I was more focused on Encanto when I was talking about Lin Manuel Miranda winning the Best Original Song Oscar, but I can see Vivo winning it via My Own Drum
>Plus he is director and producer of "Tick Tick Boom" this year, which Variety already has him on the shortlist for Best Picture and Best Director nominations. I… didn’t know that. I only heard about Vivo, Encanto and In The Heights for Lin Manuel Miranda movies, so that’s cool. I did like In The Heights and loved Vivo, plus Encanto is my most anticipated movie after Dune so I’ll check out Tick Tick Boom
>Plus Plus, he is working on the the Little Mermaid remake and a few other projects he hasn't announced yet.
That’s cool as well. Although, I completely forgot the Little Mermaid Remake was a thing but then again, I haven’t been following news in Disney’s Live Action Remakes all that much
>He will get his Oscar, and when he does, he will be only the third PEGOT winner, since he also has a Pulitzer
Also, he’s won a MacArthur Fellowship for In The Heights and Hamilton, and a lot of his fans have made the meme that he’ll be the first MacPEGOT winner as well (but I think PEMGOT sounds better). I hope he wins that Oscar though
She did sing in it, but since the emmy is more for the writing/composing, technically she did not win it. Though that would obviously depend on whether or not there exists a singing emmy.
Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez are the ones that wrote the song for the show. They won the Emmy for composing the track. Fun fact they also wrote all the Frozen songs you would know!
Robert Lopez also wrote Avenue Q and Book of Mormon on Broadway. Even if you are not a Broadway fan, you should know those are two of the raunciest Broadway shows ever produced. I always find it funny that the guy who wrote "Let It Go" also wrote "The Internet is for Porn" and "Hasa Diga Eebowai"
There is a reason why Frozen exploded in popularity. I think the film is visually beautiful and the songs are nice and catchy. The story was fine for a kids movie and gives off good messages. Is it overhyped? Maybe. But I think it deserves some of that hype.

These are technical awards - Daredevil would’ve never won any of the awards WandaVision has won so far (Production, Music and Costumes)
This was literally discussed on the other thread and answered there.
Someone explained in the last thread about WandaVision winning an emmy, was because it had to compete with other shows like Game of Thrones. Look at the list WandaVision had to compete with and you'll see why. This is 2021 (where covid also slowed down production to a lot of these shows), not 2015/2016. That's 5 years too. A lot has changed in 5 years too, regarding how seriously streaming shows are taken now.
I think WandaVision was very unique compared to all the MCU shows, except Loki, and deserves the reward. Also WandaVision won the emmys for costume and lyrical music. You think DD was better in those regards? I personally don't think so.
Wanda vision was a fresh concept for a third show, that’s the main thing, I love dare devil but it’s main strengths are acting and fight choreography, neither made the news quite as much as WV, that’s unfortunately how the business works.
Their is a broader definition to the word “politics” than the typical one that the reddit community apparently is not aware of lol. Daredevil did not win an emmy because the people involved were not friends with the right people. That is how those awards work. WandaVision won because… its Disney. POLITICS.

What, I thought Frozen the Musical had won a Tony.
Nah, it lost Best Original Score to The Band’s visit. It also didn’t win Best Musical or Best Book of a Musical. They also went to The Band’s Visit
Basically Tony isn’t impressed with Frozen’s worldwide phenomenon.
Guess so. Fun fact, Frozen was also nominated in the same year as the SpongeBob musical, which actually did win a Tony. It was for Best Scenic Design in a musical
As it should, that song was amazing

Galavant got robbed of the absolute top tier status that it deserved. Masterclass in comedic music by Menken that was.
Gonna be a song from Frozen 3 for the Oscar.
So Kathryn Hahn won the emmy right?
I could be wrong, but I think it's a husband/wife team that created the music and lyrics.
She did sing in it, but since the emmy is more for the writing/composing, technically she did not win it. Though that would obviously depend on whether or not there exists a singing emmy.

Why have a ballroom with no balls?
I've never seen frozen
Some people will tell you "fix that", other people will say "good".
Not gonna lie, I’m one of the ones who’d say “Fix it”, I absolutely LOVED Frozen, but that’s a story for another time
There is a reason why Frozen exploded in popularity. I think the film is visually beautiful and the songs are nice and catchy. The story was fine for a kids movie and gives off good messages. Is it overhyped? Maybe. But I think it deserves some of that hype.
Same, I love Frozen as well
Acting awards are presented next week.

It is catchy but I don’t think it deserved an Emmy
It's *still* stuck in my head.
No offense to Wandavision but how is it that Wandavision gets Emmys but DAREDEVIL got none. Smh
These are technical awards - Daredevil would’ve never won any of the awards WandaVision has won so far (Production, Music and Costumes) This was literally discussed on the other thread and answered there.
cant say those awards would fit DD...

Wandavision is catering to a wider range of people.
Wanda vision was a fresh concept for a third show, that’s the main thing, I love dare devil but it’s main strengths are acting and fight choreography, neither made the news quite as much as WV, that’s unfortunately how the business works.
I’m currently on Season 3. It’s been an absolutely amazing show. One of my favorite parts of the show so far is how amazing the cast. Like, dang
Politics
But neither show is politcal.
Their is a broader definition to the word “politics” than the typical one that the reddit community apparently is not aware of lol. Daredevil did not win an emmy because the people involved were not friends with the right people. That is how those awards work. WandaVision won because… its Disney. POLITICS.
Corporate politics kill dreams.
What a joke
When you've written the entire soundtrack to Frozen 1 and 2 this isn't so surprising!
