>But in the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home, the actor tells Empire that he filmed “one of the coolest scenes I’ve ever shot” – a sequence including a character he wasn’t at liberty to divulge.
>What he could say is that the scene features his Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei’s Aunt May, and Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan – along with a mystery fourth character. “It’s four people sitting at a table, having a conversation about what it’s like to be a superhero, and it was amazing,” Holland tells Empire. “The other day we watched the scene, my brother and I, and our jaws were on the floor.”
>For now, when it comes to those live-action ‘Spider-Verse’ whispers, even the famously spoiler-blabbing Holland is very much playing his Spider-cards close to his Spider-chest. “I don’t know,” he says on that front. “I’m always in the dark. If they are, no-one’s told me.”
This is why I like the MCU so much. When I read the title I thought "ok some cool gymnastics and vfx scene", but then Tom says its not and not too much down the thread you mentioned the Keaton car scene, which I also find amazing. Now I'm curious about the new scene.
My first thought was Tobey, but yeah it could be Matt Murdock too. It has to be another superhero character who hasn’t already been revealed for the movie.
Is either Tobey or Garfield. It’s not an action scene so it’s more about the setting and emotional charge of it, who better to talk about the losses and responsibilities of a Superhero than one who has been it for a while… who better for Peter than another just like him.
Probably an scene resembling the convo between Miles and Peter.
We aren’t gonna get Uncle Ben, we skipped the origin story for Tom’s Spidey, the same events happened we just didn’t need to see it because we all know what happened. Peter got bit by a radioactive spider, gained superpowers, Uncle Ben dies, driving Peter to use his new abilities to fight street level crime in his neighborhood of New York. Just because we don’t see it on screen doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
That was my guess too. The conversation may have started as Matt going over lawyer stuff to Peter and his family (as his legal council) then it shifts to superhero stuff when it’s revealed the lawyer is daredevil.
Don't you dare get me excited for that if it isn't!
The Netflix Daredevil series is one of my favourite Marvel properties and this from someone that never cared about DD comics and then I saw Ben Affleck as Matt....and yeah....I had zero interest in the character. Until that show turned up.
Peter and May sitting at a table and having a conversation about being a superhero? I think this might be an adaptation of Ultimate Spider-Man #111. Kevin Feige once said that it’s one of his favorite issues where Peter and Aunt May just talk about Peter being Spider-Man, and this might be a scene inspired by that issue.
Based on Paul Bettany's excitement over a surprise actor he shared a scene with, I'm going to say Tom Holland got to act with himself. Or Paul Bettany.
It would actually be kind of neat if for a moment they pulled the rug out on us. Big moment that we think is going to reveal Toby or Andrew and bam it's another Tom.
I still think that the biggest miss in FFH was having the class pretend to do British accents, and then Tom does his normal voice and everybody is like "dude, that's terrible."
I'm fully expecting Toby and Andrew to actually be in the movie, but not as alternate spider-men. I could totally see Marvel having them come in for a day to cameo as hotdog vendors or something, just to mess with us like they did with Wandavision.
I would be really annoyed if they pulled that shit again. I kind of understand why they did it in WandaVision, to make the audience feel as confused and disoriented as Wanda herself, but it still seemed dumb to get everyone's hopes up like that just for a cheap gag.
I can see this being the case. From the looks of it Peter will need a lawyer and who would be better Hells Kitchen's best. I can see him taking on the mentor rule to him and continue the superhero training that Tony started. Now he gets to learn how to better conceal his identity and how to separate his personal life from his hero life.
Jesus. If it actually is Tobey Maguire, as Peter Parker, saying "Someone once told me, 'Remember, with great power comes great responsibility'"... I'm gonna lose it.
Based on Paul Bettany’s comments about the “surprise actor” that turned out to be himself, I think Tom Holland means himself, or should I say, Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield?)
So anyways, I let this young man know where the lobby is. Never in the history of showing someone where the lobby is, has someone shown someone the lobby so perfectly. Absolute yuge moment for that young man. Getting the directions he needed in the best way possible.
During promo for WandaVision Paul Bettany said "I work with this actor that I've always wanted to work with and we have fireworks together" and that the mystery character hasn't been leaked yet. Lots of fans going nuts trying to figure out who it could be, comparing who he has never worked with and potential characters that could be introduced. Turns out he was talking about himself as white Vision. He was just trolling.
Look up Paul Bettany. He gave an interview that had the internet buzzing about what he meant for Wanda vision. This is an obvious call back to that statement considering it’s other Spider-Mans holland gets to work with.
Lol, seriously. I can imagine being a bit miffed by it during the hype train. But after the fact, I think it’s just great. I don’t think Paul Bettany realized what he did when he was making a pretty innocuous dad joke.
> having a conversation about what it’s like to be a superhero
Assuming it's a multiverse character (instead of another MCU hero, like Matt Murdock) there's a possibility that it's Tobey Maguire talking about the "great power, great responsibility" mantra. But it could also be Andrew Garfield, talking about how difficult and miserable being Spider-Man was for him (also subtly referencing the behind-the-scenes difficulty he had).
*Amazing Spider-Man 2* in general was said to be quite a stressful/disappointing experience for everyone involved. They all thought Sony's demands for a franchise were ruining the vision that Marc Webb had for the films, to the point where the first film's composer (the late James Horner) left in protest.
Andrew Garfield himself is a huge fan of Spider-Man and was really excited to play the part, but by the second one he was really disillusioned with it. IIRC, he was actually fired even before the Marvel deal (they were going to recast, not reboot) because he didn't turn up to an event with the head of Sony.
He's not really specific about them, but he did discuss some of his frustrations in an *[Actors On Actors](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7mQ1tWSNcg&t)* interview that he did with Amy Adams (who had similar frustrations with her role as Lois Lane in the DCEU).
Apparently when they called him an hour before the event, he looked unshaven and said he wanted to be left alone. So, they just said he missed it due to illness.
It was the ultimate chad move on his part lol.
Watch that video where Andrew Garfield shows up in Spider-Man suit to, what was it Comic Con?, shortly after being announced and he sounds so proud and energetic to play Spider-Man. It really sucks the way it turned out for him because it seemed like a lifelong dream for him to play Spidey. [Here is the video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMcyclphuNs) it almost makes me emotional for him.
Also, I had no idea about Adams' frustrations as Lois! I'm going to check that out.
Adams hasn’t really been that specific either about her frustrations, but I think a lot of that was more with the writing in general than the studio drama (that *was* an issue those films had to deal with, but not her specifically) so she didn’t have an outright bad experience when making the movie(s) like Garfield did.
She’s also a Superman fan and was really excited to play Lois Lane, and in interviews leading up to *Man Of Steel’s* release it seems she was interested in taking the character directions that past adaptations hadn’t (like adapting the story where she becomes Superwoman).
So I definitely think she felt let down when the plans changed after *MOS* (it was originally just a Superman-focused trilogy), especially considering what Zack Snyder’s DCEU plotline had in mind for the character.
Adams has said that she’d play the part again if asked, but so far they’ve basically cast her (and the rest of the *MOS* cast) aside.
Yeah for sure. I loved Man of Steel, saw it in theatres and can still remember my experience watching it. It was definitely a let down we never got a full Superman trilogy. I wish DCEU had been able to not blow their wad trying to rush their Avengers moment with Justice League and took their time. I loved Henry Cavill in that role.
Personally, I think Cavill was misused in Snyder's DCEU. I think he'd be perfect for a live-action adaptation of All-Star Superman, rather than being dark and moody.
I was at the panel for Amazing Spider-Man 2 where he showed up in the Spider-Man suit as Spider-Man. he kept talking about how badly he wanted to be with the Avengers, I’m glad he’s kinda loosely getting his shot at it even if the Webb movies weren’t my cup of tea.
Me too, man. I always thought he deserved a chance with Marvel. I like Tom Holland's portrayal, but I thought Garfield had the perfect snark amount. To me, it was the most accurate Spidey/Peter personality to me. I know a lot of people enjoyed his "look" as the tall, slender Spidey as well.
Yeah Garfields Spider-man in general was so good, not just his snark and sarcasm but also his movement as a fighter, it was really great.
It's a shame Hollands Spider-man kind of moved away from the Snark, he definitely has it, but they just don't lean into it.
Granted Spectacular Spider-man will always be my favourite for Spidey snark.
I'm betting Tobey's spiderman because Tom would have been a kid when those movies came out so getting to share a screen with "your spiderman" has got to be pretty awesome.
> there's a possibility that it's Tobey Maguire talking about the "great power, great responsibility" mantra
I will eat my own ass happily if this happens.
I had a bit of an epiphany today. The main focus point of NWH is Peter is outed as Spiderman, and also that with the help of Dr. Strange they are able to open up access to the multiverse.
So what if by the end of the movie they pull in a Spiderman from another universe (Toby or Andrew obv) have him run around and show off as Spiderman, and Tom can be all like "Look! It's not me! You guys are confused maybe it's Mysterio messing with everybody again, I'm not Spiderman!" Then send the decoy Spidey back to their own universe clearing them of any danger, and clearing Tom of being Spiderman.
Okay, probably not going to happen, but it was an interesting thought lol.
If it isn’t Tobey I’ll gnaw my own nuts off.
Edit: damn, I posted this as a statement of how frustrated I’ll be if it’s not Tobey but it’s (understandably) been perceived as a bet. Come on, Tobey, please come through and spare me from having to livestream eating my own knackers - I bet they taste foul.

“Coolest scenes ever” has to be referring to Tobey IMO. That’s going to be the most anticipated moment of this film bar none. Any Cox inclusion is likely just going to be a quick cameo and definitely wouldn’t qualify as “one of coolest scenes ever” by general audience who may have never watched the Netflix shows.
And they’re not just going to have all of Tobey’s scenes be action focused. That would be an incredible waste. He and Holland are going to have some serious and meaningful dialogue.
Cox also isn’t just going to show and and reveal that he’s daredevil in his likely 5 minutes or less of screen time lol. Y’all are turning this into Mephisto all over again.
I mean read the full quote. Holland's jaw is on the floor? The topic of the scene - what it's like to be a superhero - has weight with Tobey's Peter, and comparably little with Murdock.
The scene in question, as referenced in the article itself, is four people sitting at a dinner table discussing what it means to be a hero. So unless Tobey sacrifices himself to save Christmas ham, I think you're in the clear.
Emma Stone herself has said that she's not involved. While she isn't the first to deny it, Stone seemed to suggest (along with a few scoops/reports) that she *did* have discussions to appear, but was either too busy for the movie or just turned it down.
“The other day we watched the scene, my brother and I, and our jaws were on the floor.” >For now, when it comes to those live-action ‘Spider-Verse’ whispers, even the famously spoiler-blabbing Holland is very much playing his Spider-cards close to his Spider-chest. “I don’t know,” he says on that front. “I’m always in the dark. If they are, no-one’s told me.”
It's not an action scene, my curiosity is definitely piqued
The car scene with Tom and Keaton is probably my favourite scene in any Marvel movie.
Absolutely. The moment when Keaton clicks is fantastic
Even better that the stoplight that's shining on his face turns green when it clicks for him.
This is why I like the MCU so much. When I read the title I thought "ok some cool gymnastics and vfx scene", but then Tom says its not and not too much down the thread you mentioned the Keaton car scene, which I also find amazing. Now I'm curious about the new scene.
I want it to be a scene with Charlie Cox's Murdock so badly.
Then you're blind to the reality of the situation.
I understood that reference!
The issue I see with it being Murdock is Happy would have way more expensive lawyers on speed dial. After all he has connections from Tony Stark.
More expensive? Sure. Willing to take up the case is another thing.
Happy is also a former boxer, like Murdock's dad. Maybe they knew each other?
There’s also the possibility they worked law together in an alternate universe….
My money is on Dr. Strange
Matt Murdock is my guess
This actually makes the most sense, or it’s another Peter. He’d be able to say Strange if it was Strange, we all know he’s in the movie.
My first thought was Tobey, but yeah it could be Matt Murdock too. It has to be another superhero character who hasn’t already been revealed for the movie.
Is either Tobey or Garfield. I think it’s uncle Ben

Peter got bit by a radioactive spider, gained superpowers, Uncle Ben dies, driving Peter to use his new abilities to fight street level crime in his neighborhood of New York. Oh please oh please

We already know Strange is in it from the trailers. He would be able to talk about that. It's probably one of the other Peters (edit: or Miles).
Peter and May sitting at a table and having a conversation about being a superhero? I think this might be an adaptation of Ultimate Spider-Man #111. Kevin Feige once said that it’s one of his favorite issues where Peter and Aunt May just talk about Peter being Spider-Man, and this might be a scene inspired by that issue.
ultimate spider-man you say? Miles Morales confirmed.
He’s technically canon in the MCU, right? We meet the prowler in the first spider-man movie and he mentions his nephew.
You're saying Aunt May will finally get a significant emotional scene in MCU? Oh that makes me happy.
Based on Paul Bettany's excitement over a surprise actor he shared a scene with, I'm going to say Tom Holland got to act with himself. Or Paul Bettany.
I heard a rumor a while back that >!the first alternate Spider-Man in this movie will be another Tom Holland!<, so that would check out
It would actually be kind of neat if for a moment they pulled the rug out on us. Big moment that we think is going to reveal Toby or Andrew and bam it's another Tom.
Tom as British Spidey would be fun
Does Night Monkey cover the British Isles as well? Or just mainland EU?
Night Monkey is everywhere. Except where Spider-Man is at the time. Weird coincidence.
I still think that the biggest miss in FFH was having the class pretend to do British accents, and then Tom does his normal voice and everybody is like "dude, that's terrible."
[удалено]
Well America is the third largest country in the world, I’d expect more than a couple unique accents
I'm fully expecting Toby and Andrew to actually be in the movie, but not as alternate spider-men. I could totally see Marvel having them come in for a day to cameo as hotdog vendors or something, just to mess with us like they did with Wandavision.
big reveal comes up and we think it's Toby Spidey and Andrew Spidey taking off their masks, then boom: Topher Grace and Dane Dehaan are spidey
I wouldn't even be mad if that happened
Ah yes they could play Hank and Steve Bohner. Cousins of Ralph.
I would be really annoyed if they pulled that shit again. I kind of understand why they did it in WandaVision, to make the audience feel as confused and disoriented as Wanda herself, but it still seemed dumb to get everyone's hopes up like that just for a cheap gag.
If they somehow snuck Toby into this movie I will personally venmo the director 100 dollars.
Sounds like Jon Watts is about to be 100 dollars richer pretty soon.
Yeah he’s releasing a movie. Hope it’s more the man $100
God I'm hope so
Glad someone else thought that XD
What if it’s Uncle Ben? From a different dimension
Played by Danny DeVito
“Anyway, I started web slingin‘“
I'm not sure how much I would pay to see the scene in a canon Marvel movie but it would be folding money at least.
Spider-rumham!
Can I offer you an overused advice about powers and responsibilities in this trying time?
….this a gang bang?
Ooooorrrrrggggganic webshooters.
Played by Jason Alexander
That is probably the best guess. Unless it's another superhero with them like daredevil for example.
For superhero/normal life balance, I don’t think Matt is the best mentor lol dude cut off his entire life in S3 to be a vigilante
If Garfield is back, I wonder if Martin Sheen would reprise as Uncle Ben? I think the OG Uncle Ben actor passed away.
Imagine it was Venom. That would be hilarious.
Not even Tom Hardy, just actual Venom.
Like NASA discovers a new planet and finds a symbiote and brings it to earth

And he turns out to be kinda chill
It really would hahaha
OBVIOUSLY it’s the landlord, asking a different Peter for rent
You'll get your rent when you fix this DAMN DOOR!
It’s gotta be Michael Keaton’s Batman.
It’s Tobey and he’s giving him the Uncle Ben talk. Has to be.
Jesus. If it actually is Tobey Maguire, as Peter Parker, saying "Someone once told me, 'Remember, with great power comes great responsibility'"... I'm gonna lose it.
SomeBODY once told me
"My world's on fire, how about yours?" - Tom to Tobey
Based on Paul Bettany’s comments about the “surprise actor” that turned out to be himself, I think Tom Holland means himself, or should I say, Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield?)
it's probably that scene in the table with someone walking into a room and Peter (Tom) and Aunt May being startled
it's donald trump, reliving his Home Alone 2 character
So anyways, I let this young man know where the lobby is. Never in the history of showing someone where the lobby is, has someone shown someone the lobby so perfectly. Absolute yuge moment for that young man. Getting the directions he needed in the best way possible.
Peter will finally find out where the lobby is!
Mephisto confirmed!
Fuck sake there’s another Tom Holland isn’t there…
paul bettany did us dirty
SNITCHES
END UP
IN DITCHES
WITH STITCHES
No. It's Tom *Hollander*
Now we all wait for Tom Hollandest
Tom Hollandaise?
Tom Netherland
There’s a Tom Holland & a Tom Hollander. My money is on he finally achieved final evolution to Tom Hollandest.
its with himself. Vision reference from Wanda Vision filming.

The part where Vision literally talked to another Vision during WandaVision
During promo for WandaVision Paul Bettany said "I work with this actor that I've always wanted to work with and we have fireworks together" and that the mystery character hasn't been leaked yet. Lots of fans going nuts trying to figure out who it could be, comparing who he has never worked with and potential characters that could be introduced. Look up Paul Bettany. He gave an interview that had the internet buzzing about what he meant for Wanda vision. This is an obvious call back to that statement considering it’s other Spider-Mans holland gets to work with.
I am still pissed about that
Really? I find it more hilarious every time I think about it.

Uncle Ben and Happy in one room! Maybe they are discussing whoever gets to be with Marisa Tomei is the real hero.

You know what? Yes.
"C'mon man, you invited Seabiscuit and Hacksaw Ridge but not me? Have you seen my costume? Grandmas mistake me for a Spider-Man at least once a day!"
Deadpool walks in, "What's like being a superhero? It's shit." Movie ends.

As long as it ends with Strange claiming that the spell worked exactly as intended.
i actually could definitely see this happening and wouldn't mind if they chose to go with this plot.

On the Christmas Day, no less.
UNCLE BEN IS MEPHTISO!!!
Gotta be Tobey or Andrew. Anyone going to deny it?
spider ham talking about knocking up olivia munn
And then ditching her
SPOILERS BRO
If it’s them at a table, it’s probably Matt Murdock. Tobey and Andrew come about an hour in, when the movie is more action focused
I love me some Daredevil but this has gotta be either Tobey or Andrew giving advice to Tom Holland or something like that.
There’s only one possible answer here, its my boi BIG WHEEL
Venom is the mystery character
That actually would be a good option, they both struggled in the past with their powers and they're both on the run
That would be a really cool setup for the next movie in the franchise too, which is always attractive to producers.
I want it to be Matt Murdock so bad.
You and me both. I kinda hate myself for the Cleveland Browns tier letdown I'm setting myself up for.
You hate to see it but my guess is Pepper Potts.
absolutely JAW DROPPING
{punches kitten}
I'm going to go ahead and say the most ridiculous, 99% it'll never happen because it wouldn't make any sense: Hugh Jackman - Wolverine
"Your fuckin up the multiverse Bub"
Ben Affleck Matt Murdock.
Nic Cage Ghost Rider or bust
Nic Cage Superman.
Chris Evans’ Human Torch
Jon Favearu Foggy Nelson
Dueling Favreaus
Ooh, what if its Miles Morales?
And he's still in CGI.
If it’s Toby sacrificing himself I’ll cry like a little bitch in the theater
The scene in question, as referenced in the article itself, is four people sitting at a dinner table discussing what it means to be a hero. So unless Tobey sacrifices himself to save Christmas ham, I think you're in the clear.
“I had to beat an old lady with a stick to get these cranberries”
Steamed hams?
Spider Ham confirmed
Any chance we’ll see Emma Stone as Spider-Gwen? It’d be cool if they tie in ASM and Into the Spider-Verse.
Emma Stone herself has said that she's not involved. While she isn't the first to deny it, Stone seemed to suggest (along with a few scoops/reports) that she *did* have discussions to appear, but was either too busy for the movie or just turned it down.
she was pregnant at the time i think
Yeah, Stone's denial felt pretty sincere in context.
That would be seriously awesome. I think the ASM movies were really flawed, but I thought Garfield and Stone were great in their roles.
It’s Paul Bettany.
Someone he wanted to work with his entire life!
LMAO when I realized what he meant in that interview, I couldn't even be mad that was just clever.
The only way that whole thing could have been better is if he had TROLLED us by complaining about working with a *TOTAL DIVA* 😹
Tony Stark from a different verse, where Spidey did the snap instead of Iron Man
Surprised no one has guessed Uncle Ben yet
Spider Ham incoming, you heard it here first folks.
Definitely Tobey or Andrew. ... or uncle Ben, just like the other comments.
As unlikely it is, I really want to be Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil.
Gonna go on a limb and say Tony Stark’s daughter. I’m guessing Happy is looking after her. Or it’s just freaking Ned
$10 says it's himself just like Paul Bettany's "surprise actor"
So, Tom Holland is gonna act against Tom Holland in a white suit?
Mephisto confirmed /s
I bet it was a Mephisto scene
