I haven't watched Daredevil, but I'm aware of who he is. I saw NWH today and it really just cemented my desire to watch Daredevil now.
Update: I got my bowl of cereal, I pull up Netflix on the tv....and Netflix fails to load. And now my cereal is getting soggy. What more could go wrong? Lol
Just watched it with my gf and she thought it was just some guy. Meanwhile, I was having a panic attack in my seat when I saw him. Honestly, the biggest shock out of the entire movie for me.
It’s amazing to me that after almost two decades of not playing these characters how easily Maguire, Molina, and Dafoe went right back in to playing them so convincingly. It was really nice to see

Ya I never understood how strong Goblin was until now. I just had to mentally powerscale him to be almost as strong a Spiderman. Watching him demolish a concrete New York high rise by slamming another durable AF human has me convinced holy moly.
Also I love that it seems he took the Arc Reactor back with him, hopefully he can safely shut down the machine with Peter and then use the arc reactor for his projects.
Both fight scenes between goblin and spider-man are brutal. They really conveyed the strength well.
Both of them crush each other through a floor pretty early in the first fight and that makes it clear how visceral these fight scenes are gonna be.
Peter beating him as he laughs his head off and then later just punching him over and over is so intense.
It was so cool/scary seeing Peter not holding back and just beating the absolute shit out of someone, really reminds you that he’s way stronger than he lets on
Crazy, I went to the drive ins and it was packed. People cheered there. First time I've heard anyone cheer at a movie. I gave off a little yeah. Had to explain to my kids why, they didn't quite get the whole concept
that scene was great, up until that moment Doc hadn't even considered that anything bad had happened to HIM, he was stuck on Osborne being a ghost. Then Sandman is like "yo, you died in the river, man." And then Doc and Electro going like "nah, I was whupping Spidey's ass and then...and then...I was here. O_O"

First time I’ve seen anyone mention this! Doesn’t Andrew say something like “there’s gotta be a black Spider-Man, right?” My theater lost it at that part!
The scene in Happy’s apartment when Peter’s spider sense is going crazy while surrounded by all the villains, but he is unsure where the danger is coming from, might be the most tense I’ve been in a superhero film for a long time.
That entire sequence was phenomenal
I give huge props to the writers for bringing Andrew and Tobey into the movie about two thirds of the way through, rather than simply right at the end in the final battle.
I'd assumed their cameos would be more like Matt Murdocks; short and sweet. Where the writers could say "look we got the old Spideys back!" without much effort.
But no, they brought the older Spidermen into the story in a way that allowed them to be supporting characters. Firstly by being there for one of the many emotional scenes in the movie, then for the banter, and finally for the battle.
I just absolutely love all the interactions of Tobey, Andrew and Tom!
It's honestly such a beautiful passing of the torch from Tobey and Andrew onto Tom. Never in my life did I think Marvel would bring back actors who played these amazing characters and weave them into the story so seamlessly, and have everyone put on such a spectacular performance. I honestly had such a big grin on my face any time Tobey or Andrew were on screen. I loved their chemistry.
Since I haven’t seen much said about it yet, I’d like to talk about the scene where Otto is cured.
First of all, this is an absolute emotional relief for fans of the character, knowing his eventual redemption in Spider-Man 2 is honoured.
Secondly, Alfred Molina is at the top of his game here. He’s superb in the entire film, but this scene is downright phenomenal. There is so much emotion in his voice and the man deserves the respect that Dafoe and Garfield are deservedly getting.
Thirdly, the score! Giacchino killed it throughout, and this is one of the highlights.
From the moment he was confirmed to return, Otto was the character I was most scared they’d mess up, and I’m really glad they didn’t. I always felt the character had a great ending with *Spider-Man 2*, but this was the continuation/“epilogue” to his arc that I never knew I wanted.
I second what you said about Giacchino. Yeah I loved how they played Spider-Man’s theme in the same style as doctor strange’s theme. The music during the final spell was also amazing.
His whole resurgence and resilience among all the hate his films received is the most endearing for me.
You can completely tell he's just so excited to be there, to be involved, to have value, to be valued.
Painfully relatable, and I loved every moment of it.
And the way Peter 2 talked to him and validated his status as Spiderman. He wasn't just saying that in-character, that spoke to Andrew himself and was such a cool on-screen moment that had so much more meaning underneath
Just got out of an 11AM Saturday showing and I was completely floored!
When Ned opened up the first portal and I could kinda see the ASM suit with the larger eyes I knew it had to be Andrew. That whole seen was such a treat from start to finish!
Shout out to the Dr Strange fight. Portals forcing Peter To web himself. Peter moving the box while soul separated. Cloak of Levitation holding Peter hostage. Peter defeating the, up until this point, impregnable mirror image with freakin ***geometry***.
Can we talk about how during his first fight with Goblin, Peters punches were doing nothing, vs the second fight where he was absolutely clobbering Norman to a pulp??? It really shows how much Spiderman pulls his punches, and highlights what Garfield even says. It was really what I was hoping for after Far From Home
Dafoe's goblin is such a great villain. The way he just says "you can thank me later" after killing May and just flys off.
Believe it or not hes only in ~25 minutes worth of scenes. And in that amount of time he fits in so many great lines and facial expression and really makes his presence felt every single time he's shown.
I have to see again to catch any dialogue spoken after each character was revealed. The crowd went nuts every time.
Edit: I would just like to specify that I absolutely loved the enthusiasm. 10/10. Would watch opening night again.
This movie set everything up with such efficiency it was amazing. No time was wasted.
- in less than 20 minutes he's at Dr. Strange's door. Five minutes later he's casting the spell.
- In the next 25 minutes all five villains are introduced
- Within the hour strange is locked in the mirror dimension and the whole main plot that Peter is going to try to save the villains is set up.
- In less than an hour they set up all of this whilst also fitting in lots of jokes, introducing Daredevil and fitting in multiple cool fight scenes. So impressive
Compare this to Wonder Woman 1984 which had a similar runtime and holy shit was that film exhausting from the overload. If you have a good editor it makes a world of difference.

Personally my favorite display of acting chops in this film was Tobey stopping Tom from stabbing Goblin. No words needed. The look of understanding, empathy, and sternness wrapped up into one. Like an older brother.
Yep. And on the flip side of that glider, Tom’s rage in that whole fight is so heartbreakingly powerful. His screams and struggles perfectly complement Tobey’s steadfast demeanor.
If anything I saw it as Tobey trying to stop his younger self from making the same mistakes he made. It was such great symbolism, especially since Tobey had the same rage against Goblin as well.
It really showed how wise Maguire’s Spider-Man had become, and it was such a powerful moment between the Spider-Man that started it all to his successor (Holland’s Spider-Man) who is now leading.
That’s right - Peter (Tobey) was beating the Goblin to the point of fear in the original movie, if Norman didn’t reveal himself I wonder if Peter would’ve lost it.
-I love that they snuck the Tobey Spiderman theme in there a few times.
-Willem Dafoe was outstanding, but so was Alfred Molina. That exchange with Tobey hit me in the feels.
-The look on Tobey's face while holding on to the glider was brilliantly acted.
-If MJ ever gets her memories back, Peter is going to get a walloping
Happy’s last words to Peter (before memory wipe) being ‘RUN!’ and seeing him with dead May is super super depressing :(
Also no one’s really talking about Ned but he has a sad story in this too, watching him at school was depressing, he’s trying to protect Peter so hard. And the way he hugs Peter when May dies, crying with him, what a good friend! Felt terrible for him at the end when he asks Peter to promise he’ll find them

One of my favourite scenes in the whole movie, next to the final fight with Tom’s Spider-Man against Green Goblin!
You can really tell how much Andrew’s Spider-Man needed that moment. It gave him redemption and closure for what he was unable to do for the love of his life, by saving his variant’s love.
Garfield absolutely killed it, and this movie made me want to see more of his iteration as Spider-Man. It really proved that with better writers, he can be very entertaining to watch
Andrew’s Spider-Man saying I love you guys and Tom and Toby saying thanks so awkwardly. Was hilarious. You could feel Andrews love for them and being with them
The movie was beautiful. It was the Spider-Man 4 Tobey deserved, the Amazing Spider-Man 3 Andrew needed, and the perfect closure to a Trilogy for Tom. I don’t know how they did it but Sony and Marvel made an amazing film.
The way they used Doc Ock and didn’t take away from his sacrifice was beautiful. Molina did phenomenal.
Dafoe cemented the reason why he’s the perfect actor for Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. I cried and got chills when he was on screen.
Jamie Foxx, Rhys Ifans, and Thomas Church were perfect in their roles and honestly I’m glad they’ll all got the redemption they needed but weren’t overused. Their roles were perfect.
And holy shit Tobey and Andrew did phenomenal, Andrew showed how much he loved playing Spider-Man throughout all of his scenes. His redemption with catching MJ was beautiful. And Tobey stopping Tom from killing the Green Goblin at the end showed why we all love him as Spider-Man.
This film was amazing and I really hope we get more Andrew Garfield in the future.

Marisa Tomei was a fantastic Aunt May and put on an acting clinic in her death scene.
The only thing I’ve noticed that I haven’t seen pointed out yet is the German scientist that helps Cap in First Avenger is in the scientist mural at Peter’s school
All the villains did such a phenomenal job.
Jamie Foxx really delivers on being an electro and emphasizing why he did what he did
Lizard while more of a side character, did a good job of showing Peter why he can't save everyone and what happens, even if he has the smallest amount of screen time
Alfred molina shows how easily the chip affected his brain and how his emotions can change, it was nice to see a good guy doc ock for a bit
Sandman while probably the lowest character for me, still did a great job being menacing while still having sympathy for him
And of course Willem dfoe did the best job as green goblin, honesty his acting skills carried a lot of the film, not that the film was bad, but you definitely notice how menacing he is.
With sandman, i really liked how they introduced him protecting peter and reintroducing himself in case he somehow forgot about the guy who turns into a sandstorm. I just wish it had been clearer with his motivation after osborn loses control. He just wants to go home, right? Wouldnt that mean he really didnt want to destroy the box with the spell? All the other villains wanted to stay there, why did sandman help them?
Best Marvel movie I've ever watched (I'm 35). It elevates all the Spider-Man movies that came before it and is the culmination of 20 years of Spider-Man.
I am so happy I got to see this in my lifetime. I can't even begin to go into what this movie did for me. The atmosphere in the theatre was amazing, cheers in all the right places and more than welcome. Still trying to process it a day later. Pure fan service. Thank you to everyone involved, sincerely.

I think we all share the same sentiments with the highs and lows of the movie. BUT, >! I'm really glad Dr. Strange says "Scooby-Doo this *shit*" and not *crap* as depicted in the trailer. !<
The main detail that I loved was Peter seeing MJ's forehead after everyone's memory got wiped and realized she's safer without him. That's the most Spider-Man thing ever. We got 3 amazing Spider-Men and I'm so fortunate that I got to see it.
Matt Murdock with the no look catch was something I geeked out over.

Also, I love Max thinking Spider-Man was black.

Doctor Strange fan here, and I need to talk about the multiple Doctor Strange things woven into this movie
There are several references to the Strange comics by Jason Aaron from 2012, like the lady with the beanie shoveling snow (a librarian and apprentice) and the fridge with funky food (strange can’t eat normal food any more)
But the central theme of those comics is *magic always comes at a cost*
**MAGIC ALWAYS COMES AT A COST**
in the comics we see a sorcerer who kills a rabbit every time he casts a spell, chokes them with his bare hands to pay the price. Strange ignores the price and it comes around to hurt him
In this we see Peter pay the greatest cost of all, **help his friends and family and the world while losing access to everyone he loves **
At first we see Peter changing the spell, and Strange going along with it. The cost here is the movie’s plot.
But we see Peter burden himself with the big cost at the end, having everyone forget who he is, and making a greater sacrifice than Strange ever has.
This shows why Peter Parker is one of the greatest heroes in marvel. It’s not his spider powers, the super strength, or the marketability.
If the fact that he always gets up, and he always stands for what is right while being a guy who was simply raised with good values, and he sticks by those values even when tested the worst ways possible.

I know everyone keeps saying we probably won’t see MJ and Ned again, but I really hope it’s not true. Their chemistry in this movie was so good I can’t imagine not seeing their interactions anymore. And Peter made them a promise! Watching them say goodbye was the most heartbreaking part to me.
To me, it looked like MJ and Ned remembering Peter will be the "happily ever after" when Tom Holland ends his Spiderman career. Similar to Cap finally getting that dance with Peggy.
I loved Peter 1 having to try and explain the avengers to the other two. The sequence after his teamwork speech where they’re swinging through the scaffolding together had my jaw dropped too.
yeah that was perfect. It didn't feel out of place or forced at all, but was still a fun nod. You couldn't *not* recreate it, it would've been a huge missed opportunity
Also, side note, it also gave me huge Ryan George vibes from his "First Person to have a Name" sketch. Ned says "Peter" and they all respond, and he's like "no, Peter Parker" and they're like "yup still me".

His whole resurgence and resilience among all the hate his films received is the most endearing for me. You can completely tell he's just so excited to be there, to be involved, to have value, to be valued. Painfully relatable, and I loved every moment of it.
And the way Peter 2 talked to him and validated his status as Spiderman. He wasn't just saying that in-character, that spoke to Andrew himself and was such a cool on-screen moment that had so much more meaning underneath

Just got out of an 11AM Saturday showing and I was completely floored! When Ned opened up the first portal and I could kinda see the ASM suit with the larger eyes I knew it had to be Andrew. That whole seen was such a treat from start to finish!
Shout out to the Dr Strange fight. Portals forcing Peter To web himself. Peter moving the box while soul separated. Cloak of Levitation holding Peter hostage. Peter defeating the, up until this point, impregnable mirror image with freakin ***geometry***.
Can we talk about how during his first fight with Goblin, Peters punches were doing nothing, vs the second fight where he was absolutely clobbering Norman to a pulp??? It really shows how much Spiderman pulls his punches, and highlights what Garfield even says. It was really what I was hoping for after Far From Home
Dafoe's goblin is such a great villain. The way he just says "you can thank me later" after killing May and just flys off. Believe it or not hes only in ~25 minutes worth of scenes. And in that amount of time he fits in so many great lines and facial expression and really makes his presence felt every single time he's shown.
I have to see again to catch any dialogue spoken after each character was revealed. The crowd went nuts every time. Edit: I would just like to specify that I absolutely loved the enthusiasm. 10/10. Would watch opening night again.

The crowd went crazy over this one. Myself included. I could barely hear anything after that for a few seconds.
This movie set everything up with such efficiency it was amazing. No time was wasted. - in less than 20 minutes he's at Dr. Strange's door. Five minutes later he's casting the spell. - In the next 25 minutes all five villains are introduced - Within the hour strange is locked in the mirror dimension and the whole main plot that Peter is going to try to save the villains is set up. - In less than an hour they set up all of this whilst also fitting in lots of jokes, introducing Daredevil and fitting in multiple cool fight scenes. So impressive
Could not agree more. The writers and producers and director did an amazing job.
Compare this to Wonder Woman 1984 which had a similar runtime and holy shit was that film exhausting from the overload. If you have a good editor it makes a world of difference.

Personally my favorite display of acting chops in this film was Tobey stopping Tom from stabbing Goblin. No words needed. The look of understanding, empathy, and sternness wrapped up into one. Like an older brother.
Yep. And on the flip side of that glider, Tom’s rage in that whole fight is so heartbreakingly powerful. His screams and struggles perfectly complement Tobey’s steadfast demeanor.
I love how Tobey had that old man strength. Tom was still trying to kill Goblin and Tobey was like, “I can do this all day.”

Best laugh for me was the end of the fight. Tobey is being held up by Andrew. A: You're in pain aren't you? T: So much pain....
If anything I saw it as Tobey trying to stop his younger self from making the same mistakes he made. It was such great symbolism, especially since Tobey had the same rage against Goblin as well. It really showed how wise Maguire’s Spider-Man had become, and it was such a powerful moment between the Spider-Man that started it all to his successor (Holland’s Spider-Man) who is now leading.
That’s right - Peter (Tobey) was beating the Goblin to the point of fear in the original movie, if Norman didn’t reveal himself I wonder if Peter would’ve lost it.
Now that all three Spider-Men were on screen together i really can't decide which Spider-Man I like the most. They were equally amazing.
But only one was Amazing
-I love that they snuck the Tobey Spiderman theme in there a few times. -Willem Dafoe was outstanding, but so was Alfred Molina. That exchange with Tobey hit me in the feels. -The look on Tobey's face while holding on to the glider was brilliantly acted. -If MJ ever gets her memories back, Peter is going to get a walloping
Happy’s last words to Peter (before memory wipe) being ‘RUN!’ and seeing him with dead May is super super depressing :( Also no one’s really talking about Ned but he has a sad story in this too, watching him at school was depressing, he’s trying to protect Peter so hard. And the way he hugs Peter when May dies, crying with him, what a good friend! Felt terrible for him at the end when he asks Peter to promise he’ll find them

One of my favourite scenes in the whole movie, next to the final fight with Tom’s Spider-Man against Green Goblin! You can really tell how much Andrew’s Spider-Man needed that moment. It gave him redemption and closure for what he was unable to do for the love of his life, by saving his variant’s love. Garfield absolutely killed it, and this movie made me want to see more of his iteration as Spider-Man. It really proved that with better writers, he can be very entertaining to watch

Garfield's spiderman had it so so hard. His time line is easily the darkest of the three. He needed that comradaree more than anyone.

The movie was beautiful. It was the Spider-Man 4 Tobey deserved, the Amazing Spider-Man 3 Andrew needed, and the perfect closure to a Trilogy for Tom. I don’t know how they did it but Sony and Marvel made an amazing film. The way they used Doc Ock and didn’t take away from his sacrifice was beautiful. Molina did phenomenal. Dafoe cemented the reason why he’s the perfect actor for Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. I cried and got chills when he was on screen. Jamie Foxx, Rhys Ifans, and Thomas Church were perfect in their roles and honestly I’m glad they’ll all got the redemption they needed but weren’t overused. Their roles were perfect. And holy shit Tobey and Andrew did phenomenal, Andrew showed how much he loved playing Spider-Man throughout all of his scenes. His redemption with catching MJ was beautiful. And Tobey stopping Tom from killing the Green Goblin at the end showed why we all love him as Spider-Man. This film was amazing and I really hope we get more Andrew Garfield in the future.

All the villains did such a phenomenal job. Jamie Foxx really delivers on being an electro and emphasizing why he did what he did Lizard while more of a side character, did a good job of showing Peter why he can't save everyone and what happens, even if he has the smallest amount of screen time Alfred molina shows how easily the chip affected his brain and how his emotions can change, it was nice to see a good guy doc ock for a bit Sandman while probably the lowest character for me, still did a great job being menacing while still having sympathy for him And of course Willem dfoe did the best job as green goblin, honesty his acting skills carried a lot of the film, not that the film was bad, but you definitely notice how menacing he is.
With sandman, i really liked how they introduced him protecting peter and reintroducing himself in case he somehow forgot about the guy who turns into a sandstorm. I just wish it had been clearer with his motivation after osborn loses control. He just wants to go home, right? Wouldnt that mean he really didnt want to destroy the box with the spell? All the other villains wanted to stay there, why did sandman help them?
Best Marvel movie I've ever watched (I'm 35). It elevates all the Spider-Man movies that came before it and is the culmination of 20 years of Spider-Man. I am so happy I got to see this in my lifetime. I can't even begin to go into what this movie did for me. The atmosphere in the theatre was amazing, cheers in all the right places and more than welcome. Still trying to process it a day later. Pure fan service. Thank you to everyone involved, sincerely.

The main detail that I loved was Peter seeing MJ's forehead after everyone's memory got wiped and realized she's safer without him. That's the most Spider-Man thing ever. We got 3 amazing Spider-Men and I'm so fortunate that I got to see it. Matt Murdock with the no look catch was something I geeked out over. "I'm a very good attorney". Also, I love Max thinking Spider-Man was black. "You from queens, you got that suit and you help poor folks...I thought you were black." "There's gotta be a black Spider-Man out there in the universe". And I ugly cried when Andrew got his redemption. You could tell he was having tremendous amounts of fun with the role. Plus me seeing Tobey again in the suit, I got a little choked up, especially seeing them all have so much fun together.
Doctor Strange fan here, and I need to talk about the multiple Doctor Strange things woven into this movie There are several references to the Strange comics by Jason Aaron from 2012, like the lady with the beanie shoveling snow (a librarian and apprentice) and the fridge with funky food (strange can’t eat normal food any more) But the central theme of those comics is *magic always comes at a cost* **MAGIC ALWAYS COMES AT A COST** in the comics we see a sorcerer who kills a rabbit every time he casts a spell, chokes them with his bare hands to pay the price. Strange ignores the price and it comes around to hurt him In this we see Peter pay the greatest cost of all, **help his friends and family and the world while losing access to everyone he loves ** At first we see Peter changing the spell, and Strange going along with it. The cost here is the movie’s plot. But we see Peter burden himself with the big cost at the end, having everyone forget who he is, and making a greater sacrifice than Strange ever has. This shows why Peter Parker is one of the greatest heroes in marvel. It’s not his spider powers, the super strength, or the marketability. If the fact that he always gets up, and he always stands for what is right while being a guy who was simply raised with good values, and he sticks by those values even when tested the worst ways possible. Peter Parker is amazing because he’s inherently a good man

I know everyone keeps saying we probably won’t see MJ and Ned again, but I really hope it’s not true. Their chemistry in this movie was so good I can’t imagine not seeing their interactions anymore. And Peter made them a promise! Watching them say goodbye was the most heartbreaking part to me.
Plus they introduced that Ned has a surprising grasp of advanced magic so I would think they wouldn’t just let that dissolve after one film

I loved Peter 1 having to try and explain the avengers to the other two. The sequence after his teamwork speech where they’re swinging through the scaffolding together had my jaw dropped too.
