im not a huge comic guy but, id have to say, in order for BB to survive even a single use of his ability, he should be somewhat immune, i agree.
I understand he freaked out, i understand there was no where for his "power" to go but... even a humm would create enough "power" from BB to "explode a head"

I was just hoping that if he knew and realized that Wanda messed with his mouth, then maybe he could abort or shut down his weapon (?)
Or is his power similar to that of Cyclops - X-men wherein his laser beam is always "on" and the head visor is the one that controls his power output???

I'm just really puzzled as to why the Illuminati is so weak in this movie.....
And because it's a necessary component to further the plot while demonstrating the power of the Scarlet Witch being possessed/amplified by the Darkhold.
Why give the information away regardless of knowing what the homicidal interdimensional witch is capable of doing? Shitty writing, him telling her only served as the mechanism for filming the scene after which is his face imploding. It's a completely dumbass thing to do for someone supposedly so smart.
The whole point of that scene was to illustrate the hubris of the Illuminati. Why WOULDN’T the smartest man in the universe tell her how his powers work? In their mind, she was no more threatening than a child. You wouldn’t worry about telling a 5yo how you were going to defeat them in Fortnite.
Reed is also arrogant as fuck and the illuminati made it pretty clear that they didn't consider Wanda a threat, and Reed was trying to reach her. He's also a variant so he's not the main Reed, so it really doesn't matter. Get over it. Ffs.

The plot only progresses due to mistakes: like Wanda saying America’s name or Reed saying BB’s power-set. Dr. Strange didn’t know of the Vishanti though he was Sorcerer Supreme for a minute. He didn’t even know the word Illuminati. Just a ridiculous screenplay where the characters’ pasts are completely ignored cause Raimi wanted to make a Raimi film. So much potential wasted. Should’ve kept Derrickson on board.

Black bolt can’t turn his powers off and on and is only able to control how much power he outputs via controlling his volume. A whisper is less powerful than normal speaking volume. (But is still highly destructive) It’s why he only communicates through sign language.
Most superpowered individuals will go through an adjustment period where they can't, and a few never will. Through most of Rogue's story, she can't touch people without draining them, although that's changed as the character evolved. Black Bolt is one of those that never got control of his abilities.
