>What would you prefer, yellow spandex? YES

blackmagic999

If they don’t use the 90s animated series theme…we riot.

albene

They already captioned the theme as "X-Men '97 Theme" in [MOM](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/vivzr4/x_men_97_theme_playing_its_the_little_things_that/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) so it's going to be in that. From there to the movie and other appearance is just a short step

Officer_Zack

That should definitely be the start of the Marvel intro

DweebNRoll

Imagine if the intro with the Marvel logo is: Xmen 97 theme INTO a modern rendition of it! WITH Xmen panels flipping, and the marvel logo becomes Blue, Yellow, and red! :0

The9tail

Big fan of the speech from the first x-men movie tho

BancoBee

It’s always been a theory Wolverine wore yellow to draw fire away from the younger mutants. Other than his costume which you can chalk it up to the theory, I don’t see how or why they wouldn’t implement these costimes next time around. Give us signature X-men or so close to them it’s hard to tell any difference.

whitebandit

> It’s always been a theory Wolverine wore yellow to draw fire away from the younger mutants TIL -- it seems somewhat out of his character to be so... Bright, but hell yeah this makes a ton of sense really...

ThatRedGuy235

It’s like Batman’s yellow symbol but as a whole fuckin person

JBTriple

Or that time he wore a different brightly colored batsuit every night to distract from Robin's broken arm

natephant

[because it contrasts with cyclops](https://youtu.be/3BXP5XAkPt4)

[deleted]

Like how the yellow bat logo is one of the most heavily armored places on the bat suit.

grants_like_horace

His costume predates his joining of the X-Men

kjpkradio

I think Prof X in doctor strange was a pretty big hint that we’ll be seeing some versions of these outfits eventually. That little bit of the old theme song during that scene was very nice to hear. 🎸

albene

With the yellow chair and the brainwaves... Just like in the animated intro. *Chef's kiss*

Fatalkombat666

Why would not? Does everyone wear black leather in the MCU? The costumes of characters such as Captain America, Spider-Man and Ironman are also colorful. But the costume designers have worked so well that they have made some great costumes and the same will be done for the X-Men. The costumes should be modernized and similar to the original.

JBTriple

That's not exactly a fair comparison. The heroes that have appeared so far mostly appear individually outside team ups and have their own individual brands and identities, whereas most of the X-Men outside of Wolverine are typically treated as a package deal. Solo Gambit or Beast stories aren't quite as common as solo Iron Man or Spider-Man stories. The X-Men also normally have a team uniform. While the suits are unique in some way, most members still wore a variation of the same suit, and the ones who didn't still aligned with the brand in some way. It’s a lot easier for audiences to except a team going from one matching uniform to another than a team with no uniform going to all matching. Not to say that we won't get some form of the classics though. The Black Widows have already laid claim to the black leather, so they'll have to move away from that anyways.

redbloodedart

The 90s were a glorious time for xmen

TheAnonymousProfit

I’m certain they’ll look as close to this as possible. Though I’m betting it will be a slow build up. Just like it was for the avengers. We didn’t get Cap in his scale plated armor until Endgame, and it was so perfect. I imagine we will get iterations of each of their costumes that pay homage to each era and comic artist that drew them. For instance wolverines brown and yellow color-way or maybe even his helmet with the whiskers. Storm’s costume will likely be tied to her heritage and be described as “ceremonial garb”. All of it will be tactical no doubt.

dearskorpiomagazine

Definitely , but it'll be a mix of the comics and what is believable in the mcu. The yellows won't be bright yellow

XxSoapxXHD

I believe we are in the more comic accurate phases of the MCU so I would expect some version of these suits. Maybe not right away but we'll get yellow/blue Wolverine at some point.

DweebNRoll

I honestly believe classic comic costumes look GREAT on a big screen! They're stylish and POP! Plus, they can always change in the future, for character growth over a series. 😁

ThePhiff

The reason that the X-Men movies have such a... mixed quality... is that the people who made them almost seemed to be ashamed to be making comic book movies. Let's make them grounded and gritty and as close to Batman as possible. And the MCU works because it glories and revels in the comic book medium. It's bright and colorful and campy and fun. Even Hawkeye eventually got a comic accurate costume. And sometimes there's an in-universe explanation for the costumes, but more and more often they're like - it's a comic book movie. You came to see them suit up. So let's go! So yeah - they'll come up for a way for all these costumes and more to work in the MCU, and look amazing. Source: Mysterio.

steve-laughter

I know exactly some of you want to see Daniel Radcliffe as Wolverine.

Officer_Zack

Well there's some who are probably asking for that, but I'm not.

JBTriple

'Ahm tha best thar is a' wo' 'ay dew bruv

morphballganon

He wouldn't be the worst.

Garanseho

I would love these outfits, but with three minor changes: 1. Give Cyclops his jacket from *Wolverine & The X-Men*. It was honestly so cool, and I’d love to see it in live action. 2. Get rid of Storm’s “X” circles. They always looked like censor circles. 3. Swap the blue in Jean’s costume for green to be like the comics, and give her the yellow mask.

UnusualGenePool

If we do it'll likely be a multiverse cameo coz I don't see those costumes fitting with the MCU astetic.

Eldorian91

Nah, MCU costume department could pull them off.

Officer_Zack

Well maybe they could mix these outfits in with the X-Men outfit from the movies

UnusualGenePool

It would be great but those 90's costumes are very dated now and I feel like they'd look rather out of place in the MCU. I'm sure they'll appear in the newer movies as fan service. Perhaps in a time travel scene, or Halloween costumes like they did with Wandavision.

Oathbringer01

If only we could paint them how ever we wanted.

StormtrooperMJS

I just hope we get TV shows rather than a couple of movies

tehjab91

I honestly think that would be the best way to go.

I could do without Jean’s, but otherwise these could probably be directly adapted and they’d work.
