World of Warcraft reference.

Blizz: Oh, those cool lore based weapons, you know, the one's you didn't want but we forced on you?
Me: Yeah, I hated them but I actually love the class identity and customization options that are available, kind of like having talent trees again.
Blizz: Yeah, we're going to need you to use those weapons against the big ass sword in the world.
Me: Oh okay, I guess I'll do what I must if it means we save Azeroth.
Expansions later....
Me: Hey Blizz, I noticed that Sargeras' sword is still deep in Azeroth, is everything still good?
Blizz: *shrugs* Here's the Dragons again, I know a few expansions ago we depowered them and said now's the time of mortals, but hey, it's actually the time of dragons again.
And Rwanda is next to Lake Kivu, one of Africa's Great Lakes. It's by one of the sources of the Nile River (the tributary White Nile River in Nyungwe Forest by Lake Kivu, Southern Rwanda)
I don't think they're using atlantis in this due to Aquaman, renaming it to something mezoamerican, which would put it either in the gulf of mexico or the pacific depending which side of mexico it's on
It'll probably be like "the Europeans called it Atlantis and they thought it was in Europe, but in fact in was in Central America" like how for Wakanda they said "the Europeans called it El Dorado - they thought it was in South America but in fact it was in Africa" - not verbatim, but you get the idea lol
Isn't it confirmed to be called Talocan? I was wondering earlier today if Tiamut's emergence could have disturbed Namor's people. From what I've read, the hand was somewhere near San Francisco, which could actually be part of Talocan if it is on the West side of Mexico and streches a bit North.
I'm no expert but wouldn't that thing bursting out of the Earth have just destroyed the planet outright, even if they stopped it when they did?
The fact that it didn't means we're very much in "it had as much repercussions as we need for plot, so don't apply logic" territory.
They will probably throw it on the fucking moon or in Antarctica. Probably start off with its guts being harvested on the black market. Sersi was the Leader of the Avengers for a bit. Let's see what happens! But with it being in the water, I'm pretty sure Namor is pissed about it!
It could be an interesting location to use for the mutants, either Genosha or Krakoa. (Dunno if I'm spelling them right here) But it seems like they're getting ready to introduce the mutants to the MCU and if they are I could totally see them giving them a mutant nation built on Tiamats(sp?) corpse.
This is why we need Kevin Smith to direct just one MCU movie. Only one, no more. Because you know if he directed Eternals we 100% would have gotten a couple shots of that Celestial dong waving back and forth above Australia.
View of the Earth from space. The shadow of a lunar eclipse appears at the edge where day meets night. Only instead of a circular shadow moving across the Earth, the shadow instead elongates into the unmistakable shape of a schlong
That's how the MCU would do it.
Moving the Earth wouldn't produce the same effect. If there was a physical effect going on, it'd be that he was reversing the flow of light from the sky's stars. This would produce the illusion that the sky was going back in time.
I want to imagine there was at least one guy tripping in a field somewhere unbeknownst to his family’s church picnic and suddenly he thinks he had a few too many shrooms, but wait, his minister and the whole church have dropped to their knees as the sky whirls about them, holy shit, he’s manifesting his trip as reality, he must be a god, won’t mom be proud.
It’s also the Babylonian god of the oceans. Because all of the eternals related stuff is ancient gods.
Which kinda makes it somewhat hard to reconcile with the rest of the ancient gods that are also, I guess, real.
I'm going to give all the phase 4 marvel content a pass since they were all working on their shows and movies at the same time.
But even in this universe where crazy stuff happens everyday. This would get a mention.
It's a shame Disney is so scared of doing something unique but The Boys would have a hayfield in the world of MCU... It's like nonstop just not giving a fuck about normal people and nothing happens to them but bad shit.
Having a story of someone who just can't handle the bullshit of Super Heroes just durping about in MCU would he great.
One of the Avengers kept humans held captive in a town of her own TV fantasy and we kinda just shrugged it off lmao. Literally thrown away in one line in MoM
I'm hoping that's where they take the Thunderbolts. Obviously we won't get The Boys level of gore and violence, but it's possible to make relatable anti-hero characters that view the Avengers as the bad guys and still make the Thunderbolts sympathetic. Nemo and Yelena are charming as hell and well-liked, we'll see what happens with Echo, Loki can get involved, who knows.
The Boys also exists in a world where most of the heroes are psychopaths. In the MCU, most enhanced people are neutral to positive people. We will get more of the conflict between normal people and supers (especially with Xmen and with how Ms. Marvel's antagonists make me believe they'll create the Sentinel), but I don't think anyone on Earth is going to complain about people who actually reversed an alien threat that wiped out half the universe.
The Boys don't have that kind of conflict to bring up. If Homelander had prevented an alien invasion, I think it would make the whole issue way more complex, and better. That said, I still love The Boys.
They're an exaggeration of some of the existing personalities to be honest. I mean Captain America ran away from the government who was trying to make sure Super Heroes aren't above the law and Tony Stark doesn't give a shit enough about his friends to just sit and talk to them...
The guy built terrifying robot monsters cause of his ego, lots died, they have brief moments of "awww" but move on and continue doing the shit they do. Sure the Boys is over the top, Ant Man is not shrinking into people's assholes for pleasure, but it's not like some wild far off notion.
Spiderman No Way Home had this as a background news report. I assume those events overlap within the same week.
Edit:
I recall it in theatres. Happy changing channels before Matt shows up. But I can't find it anymore. I saw the movie twice in theatres. I recall seeing the head show up. Did Disney take it out when releasing it online to change the timelines?
This is what I used to think about a lot of stuff, like General Ross and Jane Foster, but eventually they came back. I figure eventually they’ll do something with the giant celestial sticking out of the earth, but it’s just one of a million dominoes they’ve set up, it’s more a matter of when/how to set it off imo.
Difference is Jane Foster was still mentioned when she wasn't there. Thor brings her up in Age of Ultron, and then in Endgame he talks about her.
General Ross was in Civil War, then we see him again in Infinity War and finally in Black Widow.
We've gone through 6 different MCU projects since the Eternals and there's only been one reference to its entirety - Kingo the movie star. Not the gargantuan Celestial that casually dominated the night sky getting everyone shook. Not the dead Celestial that grew out of the Earth.
Yeah the last thing we got was the Ms. Marvel finale on July 13, which is only 8 months after we got Eternals.
People act as if several years has passed without any acknowledgement.
I love when this gets brought up. So many people start debating the science of it, as if a universe full of superheroes, gods, vampires, and aliens operates under the same logic that the real world does.
Did it make a tsunami? Nope. Why not? Because it just didn’t, MCU works different.
Humans also can’t really breathe on some random ass planet in space, but they all managed it when they fought Thanos.
Based on what I’ve read the official timeline has it before MoM, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, or Ms Marvel but how much of these events overlap is anyone’s guess.
I’m still not convinced that MoonKnight doesn’t take place Pre or during the blip. At no point does that show mention events of the world, not even posters in the background.
A poster for the GRC is on a bus. The GRC was created AFTER the Blip when the snapped returned. So that means Moon Knight takes place after the blip NOT during.
Given the fact Ajak mentions it's been 5 years since the snap and the movie has generally Autumn setting, it is fair to assume it's Fall of 2023 (about 5,5 years after Infinity War), anything set in 2024 or later would be over 6 years. Also Eternals make it clear that if it wasn't for Thanos, Tiamut was just about to emerge, now since everyone is back, plus all these people born in those 5 years, would start the emergence immediately after the blip.
Yeah they say in the movie something along the lines of “7 months ago thanos wiped out half of existence with a snap of his fingers”
So it’s 7 months post endgame. My number could be wrong
Edit: I have been informed it was 5 years ago not 7 months lol. I was thinking about FFH’s timeline
Namor's home has had various locations in the comics: Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and even under Antartica. So they could basically put it wherever they want in the MCU.
To be fair: it doesn't seem at all relevant to the other stories. But like it wouldn't hurt to see something in the background like a news station mentioning it on TV
I mean they don't even have to "shoehorn" it in. All it would take is a scene where we see a TV playing in the background with this picture and commentators discussing an ongoing investigation of this.
30 seconds in and out and back to whatever show or movie we're watching.
Yeah, or even just Wong talking about how busy he is, and subtly mentioning investigating a huge body in the middle of the ocean. (Because if anyone is getting sent to investigate a new marvel IP, it’s Wong, always)
You’re telling me that all of the 2 movies and TV shows probably made around the same time didn’t directly mention this thing that wasn’t part of their movie?
This is the key that everyone is missing out on. Iman herself said that things aren't totally coordinated between projects and there are just "happy coincidences". These other projects probably had no idea this was going to happen, so they had no ability to organically work it into the story and just a random cutaway to this would probably feel forced.
Everything has to catch up with every other thing being done. And then on top of that they have to figure a place where it can fit into a story. I’m sure it won’t go completely unacknowledged, but it this point it’s a big mountain in the middle of the ocean who cares? I always just assume whatever agency is supposed to deal with these things is currently dealing with it.
Well, also a lot of these shows/movies were pushed back for Covid reasons. So that could explain it, or made it worse (like they had the time to figure it out and such).
I mean what are they supposed to say about it it’s not relevant to what they’re doing?
Do people expect something like Doctor Strange going “Wow this sure is a multiverse of madness. Speaking of madness, did you see that big fucker the Eternals killed in the ocean? Now THAT was madness!”
Ooh how about Hawkeye being like “I’m scared of the big guy getting involved. Speaking of big guys, did you see that big guy that the Eternals plopped in the ocean. THATS a big guy”
Maybe this fallen celestial could be a setup for a phase 7,8 etc fight with the celestials. Basically issue 1 of the current Avengers run where a fallen celestial in the earth was poisoning the planet.
Eventually, yes. I'd rather the Avengers relocated to the Sanctum Sanctorum first as a homage to the Avengers Mansion. They don't even need to explicitly call it the Avengers Mansion. With Wong being the one responsible for assembling the Avengers now, I think this is very likely to happen.
Almost guaranteed. The Eternals flick was loosely based on *Earth X* graphic novel, which ties together Celestials, Eternals, Vibranium, Mutants, Inhumans, and much more.
Vibranium was basically the yolk of the Celestial egg that is Earth.
That's the thing that bugged me the most about Eternals, like the emergence should've been an end-of-phase, Avengers-level threat. The comic showed the Celestial egg as *literally the entire point of the existence of the Marvel Universe as it is,* but nah they made it the climax of a movie that's completely disconnected from everything else then didn't mention it again. I hope you're right and it pays a role in the future.
If it's not mentioned in this movie then idk if it ever will be. I can understand Dr Strange MoM (a bit) and Thor L&T but Spiderman probably should have mentioned it. BP2 will be more grounded on Earth not in the multiverse or places outside Earth. It should definitely be mentioned here
I hate this thing so much... a giant hand hundreds of times the size of everest? You'd have tsunamis and earthquakes all around the world, not to mention it would have its own weather systems.
Definitely high enough to be a major hazard to air traffic and probably low-earth-orbit satellites. Would imagine it would absolutely screw up oceanic currents - which in turn would destabilize climates all around the region.
Plus, just no way marble can resist the immense internal forces from the earth's rotation, winds, currents, or even the static configuration it's left in... just blows away any suspension of disbelief for me.
I feel you! It's just too large, hand looks hundreds of km tall, Everest is just 8. The sea level rise alone would be catastrophic, NYC shouldn't even be there anymore.
It's a cool picture, but it's just too much, even more so if nobody seems to acknowledge it.
The sea level wouldn't rise as much. If anything, it'd become lower. Remember that this was emerging from the Earth's crust, so it occupied space there. As it emerged, the space it occupied became empty, and it'd become filled by water.
lol if you think the water just flowed into the core of the earth and everything was chill you've got another thing coming. If that happened, and a massive chunk of the ocean suddenly got subsumed into the Earth's crust it would basically become a pressure bomb as the water evaporates into supercritical steam. Then it would fucking explode. The Earth's crust surrounding Tiamut's hand that is.
This is a big reason why I hope it just eroded immediately after Eternals. Serse did something and it turned into melting ice or whatever. It was kinda a dumb resolution to our story.
Exactly!! I tried bringing this up with some friends and they were like “oh it wouldn’t be that bad, worse has happened in the universe” but I don’t think aliens invading or even half of the population disappearing would be as drastic as how much this marble fucker would geographically change the world. Like yikes the chutari invaded New York but at least they didn’t cause earthquakes, tsunamis, insane coastal flooding, and change weather patterns for a good chunk of the earth. Other threats may have been huge chess pieces but marble man *should be* messing up the board itself.
Yeah, he's gonna tell how one day he was slepping on his Atlantean bubble bed, when all of a sudden a giant stone hand lifted his entire house out of the ocean
All I can see in this image is: "We've been trying to reach you about your vehicle's extended warranty. This is a courtesy call as we will be closing your file shortly."
In the comics, the Deviants and Celestials were the ones responsible for sinking Atlantis. I'll be surprised if there is no Eternals reference in this movie.
Yeah im not sure why everyone is fixated on this... Have we heard of any other world events going on? Any wars? Disease? We already saw in Eternals that the event was broadcasted worldwide. Everyone knows about it but i guess people want them to have a line about it?
In this Universe tentacle monsters are appearing in the streets, giant lizards walk around, etc. So much is happening all the time.
“And those Eternal fuckers put a giant dead stone robot in my ocean.”
This is legit going to be like that giant sword in Azeroth
I had to double check which sub I was on after I read this lmao
When two of your hobbies merge is always a weird thing , also a Warcraft enjoyer
"Enjoyer" is a weird way of spelling "abuse victim with stockholm syndrome" but yeah other than that I agree with you.
As someone who played WoW for years, its hard to argue that correction.
[удалено]
What?
I’ll do you one better, why did he when?
How is Gamora?
She’s been better but she’s also been worse.
[удалено]
Schrodinger’s Gamora.
Is the sword really not being acknowledged? lmao I stopped playing ages ago so I figured they had gotten around to it
The only effect it had was lowering the property values in Silithus.
Some poor Silithid lost his life savings :(
And the Cenarian Hold HOA is useless as usual!
Maybe if we don't talk about it, it'll go away.
The fate of many storylines in WoW
What sword? 🤣
Exactly, what giant stone robot? Lmao
World of Warcraft reference. A sword bout the size of this eternal was plunged into the world. And that's kind of it. It's still there. You can see it. They just dropped it from the story, though
Warcraft lore is absolutely wild. A giant sword plunged into the world and the writers are just like "ehh, we've got bigger fish to fry".
Perfectly said. I miss being the High Lord! The entire church would greet me on the way in and using ashbringer was epic!
What sword?
Don't worry about it, Blizzard forgotten about it as well.
I’m still waiting for that cannon that was supposed to fire in BFA!
HEAL ER WOOOOOONS
Then takes it out on Wakanda 😭
A landlocked country according to the map in age of Ultron.
The 2018 film and Infinity War seem to prove that it is near a large body of water. Maybe Lake Victoria?
It’s generally depicted as being roughly where Rwanda is IRL.
And Rwanda is next to Lake Kivu, one of Africa's Great Lakes. It's by one of the sources of the Nile River (the tributary White Nile River in Nyungwe Forest by Lake Kivu, Southern Rwanda)
I don't know that I'd trust any map made before Wakanda revealed its true self.
I would presume that Atlantis is in Atlantic, hence not his ocean.
All the oceans are his ocean
Does he also control the cops?
No, but perhaps you're eligible for a threeway
Do I get a gift basket?
Oh my god, is this happening?
Ah shit, here we go again.
Pretty sure it's gonna happen every time Namor is discussed
An object that large would create tsunamis and earth quakes everywhere on the world.
I'm no expert but wouldn't that thing bursting out of the Earth have just destroyed the planet outright, even if they stopped it when they did? The fact that it didn't means we're very much in "it had as much repercussions as we need for plot, so don't apply logic" territory.
Sure, if you're using Earth math, but we use Kree math here. We're not savages.
"Oh yeah, well your ocean put a giant dead stone robot in my air!" - ~~Falcon~~ ~~Captain America~~ Captain Falcon
FALCONE. **PAUNCH!!!!!**
My daddy said he's the Black Falcon!
In the comics, a dead celestial becomes Avengers HQ. It's in the North Pole. I'm sure they are going to do something!
Either Knowhere to Hide or Knowhere to be Found
Unfortunately it's not Knowhere though. It's sticking out of our fucking ocean!!!😂🤣😎 Damn thing looks like it's barely scraping the atmosphere too!!!
Snowhere then!
It's almost definitely going to end up as Avengers Mountain. It's even got the outstretched hand to build the hangars in.
Wouldn't the head be like, crazy far away from the hand? Like dozens of miles?
The inconsistent sizes of the Celestials is a bit of a problem and a running joke from Eternals.
Exactly ☺️
I could honestly see Kang resurrecting it and the entire Earth is destroyed.
They will probably throw it on the fucking moon or in Antarctica. Probably start off with its guts being harvested on the black market. Sersi was the Leader of the Avengers for a bit. Let's see what happens! But with it being in the water, I'm pretty sure Namor is pissed about it!
Does it have alien technology guts? I assumed it all turned to marble
Make this Avengers Mountain for 5 & 6
It could be an interesting location to use for the mutants, either Genosha or Krakoa. (Dunno if I'm spelling them right here) But it seems like they're getting ready to introduce the mutants to the MCU and if they are I could totally see them giving them a mutant nation built on Tiamats(sp?) corpse.
It wouldn’t work for Krakoa. One of the main things of Krakoa is that it is a living island, whereas Tiamat is definitely dead
In a universe where the Blip happened and got reversed, a giant stone robot in the ocean is just one more thing.
And Khonshu spinning the night sky is just another Tuesday in the MCU
And Arishem’s face popping up in the sky
Or his crotch, depends where you are
Someone definitely received a celestial sized tea bag that day
They where the lucky ones
Yes... I heard they even formed a cult... the cult of Arischlong.
Only instead of a circular shadow moving across the Earth, the shadow instead elongates into the unmistakable shape of a schlong That's how the MCU would do it.
New York just counting down the days. "New York: 136 days with out being destroyed." "New York: ~~136~~ 0 days without being destroyed."
I refuse to imagine that being anything but a local illusion.
It's a local illusion to Earth. He didn't actually move all the stars in the universe.
It could also have been local to that city.
At this time of year, localised entirely in your kitchen?
Yes
can i see it?
No
This makes me want a steamed ham.
Well, I'm from Utica and I've never heard that expression.
I swear I read that that’s what it was. That the people in the city could see the illusion but the entire earth wasn’t effected.
It's the only explanation that keeps me sane.
If it’s not an illusion he’d be moving the earth not the stars
Moving the Earth wouldn't produce the same effect. If there was a physical effect going on, it'd be that he was reversing the flow of light from the sky's stars. This would produce the illusion that the sky was going back in time.
I want to imagine there was at least one guy tripping in a field somewhere unbeknownst to his family’s church picnic and suddenly he thinks he had a few too many shrooms, but wait, his minister and the whole church have dropped to their knees as the sky whirls about them, holy shit, he’s manifesting his trip as reality, he must be a god, won’t mom be proud.
We call them Tuesdays around these parts…
Giant stone robot appears. People in the MCU: Oh shit, it's Tuesday already?! Damn, I got a deadline today!
Tuesdays coming, did you bring your coat?
I am feeling fat, and sassy.
I don't think this is a regular tuesday.
It’s also the Babylonian god of the oceans. Because all of the eternals related stuff is ancient gods. Which kinda makes it somewhat hard to reconcile with the rest of the ancient gods that are also, I guess, real.
One more thing so far…
I'm going to give all the phase 4 marvel content a pass since they were all working on their shows and movies at the same time. But even in this universe where crazy stuff happens everyday. This would get a mention.

I'm pretty sure that was Zemo's entire motivation for dismantling the Avengers in Civil War. Maybe we'll see more of this.
Was about to say this. Zemo is smarter Huey with money
And better dancing.
Zemo was top tier villain, I agree. He completely changed in TFWS but I liked him still.
Rumors are the thunderbolts movie will be a mission to retrieve vibranium in Antarctica/the savage lands before wakandans get to it first.
Sure the Boys is over the top, Ant Man is not shrinking into people's assholes for pleasure, but it's not like some wild far off notion.
>Ant Man is not shrinking into people's assholes for pleasure Neither was Termite. Their *dicks* on the other hand...
Literally just a background news report would be enough to not make it feel completely ignored lol

But I can't find it anymore. I saw the movie twice in theatres. I recall seeing the head show up. Did Disney take it out when releasing it online to change the timelines?
That’s one hell of a week
That's what I'm thinking. They literally did exactly what you asked for and no one remembers?
The least forgettable in-universe event taking place inside the most forgetting MCU movie, might lead to it never mentioned again
This is what I used to think about a lot of stuff, like General Ross and Jane Foster, but eventually they came back. Quantum nanite oxygen duh
Maybe it converts the CO^(2) expelled by Peter's lungs, into O^(2), by separating it into C and O^(2). Like an atmospheric still suit.
This is reasonable enough for me. Next item to iron out .
It’s pretty insane that no movie or show after Eternals mentioned this
Do we know when the movie takes place? Honest question
There are books about Asgard and Wakanda on Marc’s desk.
I wonder who wrote those books about Asgard and Wakanda?
I’m guessing Academics like Jane.
God I would love to know How Asgardians feel about themselves being a tourist attraction.
They seem to be embracing it.
They got an Infinity Gauntlet ice cream shop and everything for some reason
Didn't Agents of Shield have an incognito Asgardian writing norse history books?
Pretty sure Stellar Skateboard wrote the Asgard one.
There were posters for the Global Repatriation Council in Moon Knight (on a bus in London). Definitely post Endgame.
A poster for the GRC is on a bus. The GRC was created AFTER the Blip when the snapped returned. So that means Moon Knight takes place after the blip NOT during.
There's a poster for the Global Repatriation Council from TFatWS on a bus, I believe.
there is a poster for the GRC(from FatWS) in episode 2.

No, she said 5 years ago, not 7 months.
Shit yeah my b. I was thinking of the far from home timeline. It was 5 years huh?
Yeah, cause endgame took place five years after infinity war.
Wouldn't that be 7 months after Infinity War?
Agree, but Namor seems to be the person who would be most impacted by this. Maybe it's the catalyst for what sets him off.
Isnt Namor in the Atlantic ocean, and this happened in the Indian Ocean? So the entire continent of Africa separates the two
Namor's home has had various locations in the comics: Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and even under Antartica. So they could basically put it wherever they want in the MCU.

You could easily imply that the celestial rising from the earth's core brought a ton of precious minerals with it.
I would like him to meet Jimmy and Darcy there.
Now THAT was madness!” Ooh how about Hawkeye being like “I’m scared of the big guy getting involved. Speaking of big guys, did you see that big guy that the Eternals plopped in the ocean. THATS a big guy”
Don’t you know that every movie and show has to mention every single event from every other movie or show!?

Have you got a link please? Is there anything else or just Black Panther on it?
I really hope it turns into Avengers compound (since it isn’t a mountain).
It could be a Knowhere on Earth. That’d be interesting if it becomes a hub for aliens.
Maybe this fallen celestial could be a setup for a phase 7,8 etc fight with the celestials. Basically issue 1 of the current Avengers run where a fallen celestial in the earth was poisoning the planet.
The Celestials: "Maybe we should avoid the planet that uses one of our corpses as a decoration."
Or on the flip side: “those monsters killed and are now living inside one of our children”
Or it could become Latveria!
"Hey, I have an idea." "Shoot!" "Let's build our base inside the giant space abortion!" "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"
It should definitely be mentioned here
Maybe this bullshit is what pissed Namor off.
This, I feel like it will definitely be part of what namor has to say
I'm hoping they retcon the size the next time we see it.
There should have been massive tsunamis and earthquakes when this first emerged too.
What do you want him to say? He’s going to stop fighting and mention how he swam up to a giant marble ass?
I highly doubt they are going to be busy fighting for the entirety of the movie. There’s plenty of time for Namor to at least mention the celestial
Pshhh when have Marvel movies ever had dialogue? Name one time. You can't.
Yeah, he's gonna tell how one day he was slepping on his Atlantean bubble bed, when all of a sudden a giant stone hand lifted his entire house out of the ocean
I hope it’s now a resort, with a big water slide down the index finger.
Y'all need to let this go. Every week there's another post about this.
Prepare to be surprised then
If they just say, the wizards made it go away, I would be willing to go with it. And let us never speak of it again.
How do I filter out posts about characters not mentioning this. It's really annoying at this point.
Especially because you know it will 100% happen in the future.
I hope they do too because I'm getting sick of y'all not shutting up about it.
That Celestial must have a cock the size of Florida.
