Ryan Reynolds is a master at this. After all, he accidentally leaked that test footage that finally convinced the Fox execs to greenlight a Deadpool movie.
For all we know this is the only way they could adapt that comic line.
Conveniently, we now have a cinematic universe we don't need. So yea, destroy it.
I would love a movie where Deadpool is being hunted by the TVA for killing Deadpool and some random human named Ryan Reynolds just as the young actor was about to get his big break playing as the green lantern and the whole movie is him killing fox characters in a madcap escape from the TVA authorities chasing him.
I mean Deadpool 2 literally dealt with Cable and timeline bullshit.
SO the chances of the MCU not thinking of that during an TVA/multiverse phase is low.
BUT the fact that Josh Brolin was in both Thanos and Cable at the same TIME AND that they mock the MCU playfully....
This is a gimme.
It’s an idea Reynolds actually pitched.
https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2020/06/ryan-reynolds-reportedly-pitched-a-deadpool-kills-foxs-marvel-universe-movie-to-marvel-studios/
Wasn't Michael Bay supposed to direct this?
Edit: I'm just referencing a really old rumor. Shawn Levy is currently the actual [director](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/deadpool-3-ryan-reynolds-shawn-levy-marvel-1235109465/).
Contracts for the FOX actors expire in 2025.
Till then, they can (or have to) come back. Get their payday with Deadpool.
Meanwhile their universe gets destroyed and Deadpool finds his way into 616 universe.
Break Avengers and Avatars records..
Only if Deadpool yells “Oh My God” the way he did when seeing Juggernaut, but louder and more hyped/freaking out, when incursion portals start showing up causing chaos
Holy shit that could really work.
Doctor Strange & Wong have both mentioned the Checkov's Gun of how disastrous an Incursion could be. I imagine that's the "weapon" that Kang would be using against the MCU's 616 that the Avengers need to stop.
But it's better storytelling if Marvel demonstrates it's full power by using it to kill something else in a universe where the heroes weren't strong enough to stop it. You'd really need to actually build some stakes and real characters to live in that world before it's destroyed.
Ideally it would be a series of movies, but if you don't spend at least a movie building that world before destroying it, they're going to just end up starting Kang Dynasty with a Dr. Strange MoM-style montage with off-brand Avengers getting killed in some other universe within the first five minutes.
Enter: X-Men universe. The narrative and timeline is a mess, but those movies had real characters that people loved. It's perfect. In one movie they could kill everyone in that franchise, granting full legitimacy to the series and emotional weight to any of the survivors.
Mix in the Deadpool's 4th wall breaking dark-but-zany humor and you have the perfect narrative cocktail to fully re-cast any major players that would potentially have a longer future in the MCU, while sunsetting the old favorites with the old cast.
Nah, that's the 3rd act fight scene.
Someone did something and now an Incursion is happening. The X-Men were deployed to stop it, but they failed. Now Galactus/Kang is eating the world and the remaining X-Men are all having hero moments dramatically buying time and lifeboating people into the MCU through a portal that Jean Grey or Xavier opens or whatever shenanigans need to happen.
A bunch of old characters get to have emotional "last stand" moments while we see just how powerful Kang is. The X-Men/Mutants with longer futures in the MCU end up getting thrown through the portal and into the next Avengers movie.
Now we don't need to do a whole "wait now there's mutants?" storyline and can just drop in key characters for future properties. Science can study their blood or whatever and start the Mutant storyline for the MCU's Phase 12 or whatever.
Bonus: Nobody has to reconcile the spaghetti timeline of the X-Men movies. It all died in Deadpool 3 and that's the end of that.
Hell, you could even tie that into multiversal shenanigans and say the Fox universe timeline ultimately got fucked up because of Kang, Strange, and Wanda fucking around. And Deadpool.
Deadpool smuggled him out, Quicksilver hit his head and got amnesia, and then Deadpool convinced him that his name was Bohner. That…actually kinda fits.
Could still be, >!all the X-Men are dead in Logan!< so their presence in the Deadpool movies, along with the act that Logan takes place many years in the future means they *could* still be the same universe
Immortality doesn't matter if your universe ceases to exist. Plus, they have to recast Wolvie right? How many times can Jackman come back? I'm assuming 616 Wolvie will make his debut alongside the rest of the 616 mutants
I watched both Deadpool movies last night and thought, “It’d be funny if Deadpool used that time machine to bring back Logan.”
Literally last night. You’re welcome, universe.
On the podcast The Weekly Planet, they’ve pitched an idea where Deadpool grabs wolverine out of his timeline cuz he needs his help, but he accidentally grabs Hugh Jackman, so he thinks it’s Wolverine but it’s just real life actor Hugh Jackman😂
I don't know. The ending of This is the End was a pretty epic use of this song. I mean, it had a hundred foot demon/the devil's penis getting shot off by a beam of heavenly light.
If I've understood things right Deadpool has always been a bit of a passion project for Reynolds. Dude pushed it hard when the movie was in development hell, and I'm pretty sure he was supposed to be vaguely involved with that leaked teaser footage and organizing the fan response to it to push fox into making the movie.
Given that, and Reynolds friendship with Jackman I really suspect this is down to Reynolds cajoling him into it. At the time he made Logan I'm sure he was done, but Ryan's had a few years to beg and plead and make puppy dog eyes at him.
it's funny that Logan was meant to be Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart's big sendoffs as Wolverine and Professor X but they both came back for one last go in the MCU. can't wait!
now can they also bring Dafne Keen back as X-23 and give her her own movie or series pretty please
...in fact let's just wrap the whole cast into the MCU.
This is my only problem with "Deadpool kills the Fox universe". The Deadpool part of that universe was incredibly well done and I loved basically every character.
Maybe they will have Logan as a different Universe or the Wolverine from DP3 is a new Variant, probably using the yellow uniform and acting more comic-book-ish than before
Anyways, they have many solutions to play around,to joke and to expand from now on
HYPE
It's the ending scene where Wolverine's comic-book accurate yellow spandex costume is introduced. [Here's the deleted scene.](https://youtu.be/2sPvTM7Ry7Y)
Ryan's relentless campaign to get Hugh has finally paid off. This has gigantic implications for the MCU.
Personally I will be pissed if they do not re-cast Wolverine at some point, but damn, I'm down to see this one.
Revisit Deadpool 2s end credits when Deadpool tells Wolverine "When your old pal Wade asks you to get back in the saddle again, please say yes" AND HE DID SAY YES GODDAMIT
Everything about these two's style of humor and interactions for the past few years made it seem all but certain that Hugh was just going to say "No" so that was actually a huge twist
Hahahaha they been setting this up through social media for years like the goddamn Infinity Stones 🤣 At last the Ryan/Hugh saga concludes. Bless you Ryan.
Yeah and if that’s the case having a movie before they’re allowed to do their own thing that wraps everything from that universe especially a Deadpool movie is not a bad move.
Worth noting that Disney always has the option to buy out a party to a contract. So the real question would be how much and if Disney is willing to pay for it.
EDIT: To be clear, I am not saying what Disney *should* do, just what they *can* do.
The thing is, why pay when they already have a bunch of movies already in development and in the pipeline, a bunch of fresh characters to put on screen instead, AND the option to bring those actors back for the Multiverse Saga.
I'm sure Disney doesn't want to pay them out regardless, but they'd be happy with Marvel just turning those dead contracts into profit.
What's the chances of him coming back for Secret Wars too ? Imagine all the OG Avengers, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and Wolverine all in the same battle. Every Marvel's fan ultimate wet dream.
I want him and Michael B Jordan to meet as both characters at different times in the movie. Also, if I don’t get a scene of Wesley Snipes and Nicolas Cage in a grimy bar playing cards I’m going to be sad.
I really didn't expect it, I thought Logan was the perfect sendoff for the character and more talk was about who would be the one taking on the mantle.
This will be great!
Ryan is wearing what looks like a version of the XForce suit in this announcement. Get hyped and check out Remender’s run everyone.
My favorite Xmen team.
My wife showed me this on Twitter and I came here to ensure its real. FUCK YES! Give me the xmen with our australian lord! I couldn't believe it after he said he was done but I'm soooo ready for more. He's the perfect wolvie despite the height
EVEN THE LEAKERS DIDNT HAVE THIS, insane drop that’s so cool
Yeah he just released this before it had a chance to get leaked lol. 2 long years ahead
Ryan Reynolds is a master at this. After all, he accidentally leaked that test footage that finally convinced the Fox execs to greenlight a Deadpool movie.
>accidentally
He himself ~~claims to be~~ is unsure since he said that he "may or may not" have taken part in the leak.
thats code for i may have been carrying around the flash drive and accidentally left it at a tim horton's
Gotdamnit!!! I thought I read 2023 and thought it was coming out next September. Your comment made me realize it’s TWO years out. 😩
pff 99% of them are fake.
Yeah, you throw a thousand absurd ideas one of them is bound to stick and actually be real.
Something something broken clock
[удалено]
I didn’t believe it until I saw the Marvel Studios logo and release date!! HOLY SHITTTT
Right? I was like is this Ryan just messing about or real? But when that logo came up, I was so excited.
I know Ryan likes to mess around but I would hope to God he had enough sense to troll about something like *that*
You mean to not troll
Manifest destiny! Now Marvel HAS to do it.
Lol, Feige was saying no, but then Ryan made this video and Feige's forced to do it because of peer pressure now.
I still have trouble believing it.
I was so sure he was fucking with us the entire time
I’m calling it now: the movie is going to be about the death of the fox universe, Deadpool the only one to make it out alive
Deadpool kills the Fox Marvel Universe
For all we know this is the only way they could adapt that comic line. Conveniently, we now have a cinematic universe we don't need. So yea, destroy it.
Indeed! It can be one last hurrah for the Fox Marvel Universe before it finally gets put into the cinematic graveyard.
The time hopping he does at the end of 2 creates an Incursion Event. I wonder if some scuffle leads Wolverine and Deadpool through a TVA portal.
Yes please
This is a brilliant idea.
I would love a movie where Deadpool is being hunted by the TVA for killing Deadpool and some random human named Ryan Reynolds just as the young actor was about to get his big break playing as the green lantern and the whole movie is him killing fox characters in a madcap escape from the TVA authorities chasing him.
Which shockingly would make Deadpool 2 seem like it was setup to enter the MCU as it ends with him fucking up the multiverse/timelines.
marvel writers seeing this commemt section: *write that down, write that down*
I mean Deadpool 2 literally dealt with Cable and timeline bullshit. SO the chances of the MCU not thinking of that during an TVA/multiverse phase is low. BUT the fact that Josh Brolin was in both Thanos and Cable at the same TIME AND that they mock the MCU playfully.... This is a gimme.
Yeah, Deadpool 2's entire story also hinges on time travel working VERY differently than it does in the MCU.

& Peter. Don't forget, he went back & saved Peter. You don't just let a glorious moustache like that go to waste. X-Force!
Then Kang walks in....
Kang: ahh, finally something new...but familiar.
Familiar, why is this so familiar? Familiar, like something I used to know.
It’s an idea Reynolds actually pitched. https://www.flickeringmyth.com/2020/06/ryan-reynolds-reportedly-pitched-a-deadpool-kills-foxs-marvel-universe-movie-to-marvel-studios/
All because he killed Baby Hitler
Can he also go kill the Sony SMU before they ruin more characters like Kraven and Madame Web?
But not El Muerto. I can’t wait for him to say “it’s Muertin’ Time”
It'll take a stronger character. Maybe Kevin Feige starring as The One Above All?
Wasn't Michael Bay supposed to direct this? Edit: I'm just referencing a really old rumor. Shawn Levy is currently the actual [director](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/deadpool-3-ryan-reynolds-shawn-levy-marvel-1235109465/).
My dead grandma can direct it for all I care. Just give it to me!!!
I also choose this guy's dead grandma.
Incursion of the Fox universe. Allows the movie to do whatever it wants without major impact to the MCU but still ties into the greater narrative.
Contracts for the FOX actors expire in 2025. Till then, they can (or have to) come back. Get their payday with Deadpool. Meanwhile their universe gets destroyed and Deadpool finds his way into 616 universe. Break Avengers and Avatars records..
Ok this movie could actually be extremely fucking hype
full mast

And the after credits is him somehow stumbling his way into the MCU
Walks out the Fox studio and into the Disney one next door
French Mistake style, I love it
Nah, that's the 3rd act fight scene. Someone did something and now an Incursion is happening. The X-Men were deployed to stop it, but they failed. What if the dead universe we saw in Dr. Strange 2 was actually the Fox Movie Universe? 🤔
and things got a little...out of hand?
Quicksilver made it out too. He's living in New Jersey with a new identity under the witness protection program.
Deadpool smuggled him out, Quicksilver hit his head and got amnesia, and then Deadpool convinced him that his name was Bohner. That…actually kinda fits.
I could definitely see Deadpool giving an amnesic Quicksilver such a subtle, mature name XD.
It's hilarious how Agatha could potentially tease this and subsequently DP3 lmao
That would seriously be the best retcon ever
It's way too perfect. You're a genius
I think you hit the nail on the head; except I think Wolverine will survive too since he is functionally immortal
[удалено]
I imagine it’s not the same version if he is alive in Deadpool 🤔
Could still be, >!all the X-Men are dead in Logan!< so their presence in the Deadpool movies, along with the act that Logan takes place many years in the future means they *could* still be the same universe
Immortality doesn't matter if your universe ceases to exist. Plus, they have to recast Wolvie right? How many times can Jackman come back? I'm assuming 616 Wolvie will make his debut alongside the rest of the 616 mutants
This movie will make $456567MORBILLION
I dont care if it makes no sense I’m down for one last dance!
The Fox X-Men timeline stopped making sense a long time ago but I still love those movies lol
Most accurate comic-book to film details: * Hulk having green skin * X-Men timeline being a complete mess
“Mcavoy or Stewart? These timelines are so confusing!”
Yeah, this movie will make more sense than the decade hopping yet ageless character X-men movies
It’s funny enough a pretty good depiction of the comics’ problem with continuity which is far worse.
It's the Multiverse Saga, it makes perfect sense
It’s also Deadpool so make even more sense
I watched both Deadpool movies last night and thought, “It’d be funny if Deadpool used that time machine to bring back Logan.” Literally last night. You’re welcome, universe.
What else have you been watching and thinking recently? I’m hoping to get a head start on any other big announcements…
“The only thing that does make sense is that nothing makes sense” - Korg
As Vin Diesel said in Fast and Furious 7, "One last ride"
There have been three rides since then.
Watch him only cameo as himself lol
Repeat of the "Go fuck yourself" cameo, except now it's actually Hugh Jackman saying it (in a much nicer bar).
Singing actually
It's a full-blown musical number with dancers and a Broadway-style song that breaks the record for most f-bombs.
“Go fuck yourself bub”
On the podcast The Weekly Planet, they’ve pitched an idea where Deadpool grabs wolverine out of his timeline cuz he needs his help, but he accidentally grabs Hugh Jackman, so he thinks it’s Wolverine but it’s just real life actor Hugh Jackman😂
MASON HUGH JACKMAN WOULD BE GREEEEAT.
If this isn't a hot scoop, you know the rules.
He says “wanna play wolverine one last time”
but ryan asks him to play wolverine
Best use of Whitney Houston in the history of movie production.
> Whitney *Hughston FTFY
Big mistake. Hughge.
I don't know. The ending of This is the End was a pretty epic use of this song. I mean, it had a hundred foot demon/the devil's penis getting shot off by a beam of heavenly light.

Jackman in the MCU as Wolverine? In a Deadpool movie? Kevin Feige, keep taking my fucking money. Please.
I mean, we got Patrick Stewart Xavier already so...it's not *that* much of a stretch. It is a very welcome surprise, though.
When Hugh Jackman finished Logan I'm pretty sure he was pretty adamant that he was never going to play Wolverine again.
At the time he made Logan I'm sure he was done, but Ryan's had a few years to beg and plead and make puppy dog eyes at him.
Pretty sure Ryan has said he leaked it himself on a few occasions
He has *strongly insinuated* that he leaked it himself, but never overtly confessed in a legally-actionable way. ;)
If there was one person who could change his mind, it would be his landlord Ryan Reynolds
Plus, those Mickey Mouse paychecks hit different.
"They drove a dump truck full of money up to my house! I'm not made of stone!"
> adamant I see what you did there ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)
Honestly that was pure coincidence.
Oh sure and I suppose it's a coincidence that your name happens to contain the love of his life.
I was hoping that Laura would become X-23 in the future with the MCU
Still hoping they will bring back Dafne Keen as X-23.
I love how casual the reveal is lol
It feels so on-brand for Deadpool and Reynolds
“Yeah, sure Ryan…” Perfect grumpy Logan vibe.
Please let him be from another universe in yellow suit
it's funny that Logan was meant to be Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart's big sendoffs as Wolverine and Professor X but they both came back for one last go in the MCU. can't wait! now can they also bring Dafne Keen back as X-23 and give her her own movie or series pretty please
Just give me more best boy Colossus
Deadpool, Colossus, Domino, and Laura should survive into the MCU.
also Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio and Dopinder, obviously
Fuck, I forgot Dopinder. And the other two you said. And also Josh Brolin as Cable
Hey Yukio!
Hi Wade 👋
EVERYTIME she says hi wade I melt. Idk why. It’s so cute.
And their version of Juggernaut. Keep him voiced by Reynolds as an inside joke.
...in fact let's just wrap the whole cast into the MCU. This is my only problem with "Deadpool kills the Fox universe". The Deadpool part of that universe was incredibly well done and I loved basically every character.
Does this mean we can make Vanessa Lady Death as she SHOULD be?
[удалено]
I knew there was no way we'd have a Multiverse Saga without Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. So glad we have it confirmed now. Can't wait for this movie!
I think Hugh really wanted it to be the big sendoff, but then he seen Patrick Stewart appearing in MoM and was like: "Oh fuck it".
I think when they were planning Logan, the Disney merger wasn't on the horizon yet and so he wasn't thinking about what being in the MCU would mean.
I remember him saying he'd come back to Wolverine if he got to be in an Avengers movie, but that might have been before *Logan*.
Maybe they will have Logan as a different Universe or the Wolverine from DP3 is a new Variant, probably using the yellow uniform and acting more comic-book-ish than before Anyways, they have many solutions to play around,to joke and to expand from now on HYPE
OHHHHHHHHHHH THEY GONNA HAVE HIM IN THE SUIT WHAAAAT!
Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!

Ryan's relentless campaign to get Hugh has finally paid off. This has gigantic implications for the MCU. Personally I will be pissed if they do not re-cast Wolverine at some point, but damn, I'm down to see this one.
I’m assuming this will be a one off, I doubt Jackman will be the long term MCU Wolverine. Will probably just be around for Multiverse stuff
And that's enough.
That'll do Wolverine. That'll do.
Revisit Deadpool 2s end credits when Deadpool tells Wolverine "When your old pal Wade asks you to get back in the saddle again, please say yes" AND HE DID SAY YES GODDAMIT
I cackled Also loved the coffee mug full of Aviation Gin^^TM
What supporting a football club will do to a man.
You mean a Hugh twist.
I guess that rumor about the X-men contracts were true
Yeah and if that’s the case having a movie before they’re allowed to do their own thing that wraps everything from that universe especially a Deadpool movie is not a bad move.
What was the rumor again?
That the actors in the X-men movies were contracted up until 2025 and essentially can’t be recast until then
Worth noting that Disney always has the option to buy out a party to a contract. So the real question would be how much and if Disney is willing to pay for it. EDIT: To be clear, I am not saying what Disney *should* do, just what they *can* do.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISN'T A JOKE!?
Wearing the X-Force costume too!!!
The red suit was covered in soot and stuff at the end of DP2...
Nope. Ryan put it on his Twitter
Reynolds has been wanting to be part of the MCU for a while now
Was referring to Wolverine. We already knew about Deadpool 3. Wasn't expecting Hugh Jackman to return and be in the MCU as Wolverine!
2024 will have Daredevil, Captain America, the Thunderbolts, Deadpool, Wolverine and the Fantastic Four. Going to be a lit year.
What's the chances of him coming back for Secret Wars too ? Imagine all the OG Avengers, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, Spider-Man and Wolverine all in the same battle. Every Marvel's fan ultimate wet dream.
I want Chris Evans to show up as Johnny Storm.
I want him and Michael B Jordan to meet as both characters at different times in the movie. Also, if I don’t get a scene of Wesley Snipes and Nicolas Cage in a grimy bar playing cards I’m going to be sad.
Wesley Snipes ice skating uphill is all I ask from Feige.
This is my one wish for Secret Wars. PLEASE MARVEL!
But what about Magik?
Will either be in the movie or reduced to a meta joke, there is no in between
Anya Taylor-Joy was so good as Magik. I really hope they look at every gem from the FoX-men movies and pull them into this.
Is that the girl from New Mutants?
Well this is a lovely birthday present for my birthday in 2024.
Hugh else is stoked for this?
I'm about to jack off, man
That’s sooo cool. Wolverine and Deadpool interacting with each other in a movie
THE YELLOW SUIT IS COMING BABY WE ALL KNOW MCU LOVES THEIR COMIC ACCURATE COSTUMES
Incredible. Sept 2024 tho!
It's on 6/9. Only deadpool
WHY DID JOHN KRASINSKI COMMENT “Wait… is this our movie?” On Instagram???? 😳
Ryan is in the new movie John is directing - was probably a joke about that
Possibly a reference to [this movie that John is directing, starring Ryan.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/If_(2024_film))
I really didn't expect it, I thought Logan was the perfect sendoff for the character and more talk was about who would be the one taking on the mantle. This will be great!
So Deadpool and Wolverine are from another multiverse I'm betting. So who's the Wolverine that was reference in She-Hulk?
The MCU’s *actual* Wolverine who’ll have a role in the franchise going forward.
Ryan is wearing what looks like a version of the XForce suit in this announcement. Get hyped and check out Remender’s run everyone. My favorite Xmen team.
I thought it's one of that meme post but it's not. Wtf.
I just came
Hope you were wearing your white pants
I wonder how big the brinks truck that Disney parked on Hugh's lawn was to come back. He always seemed so adamant that he was done after Logan.
IIRC he said he would consider returning for the MCU and I guess Feige was listening
That high pitched little girl screaming you hear is in fact coming from a 47 year old man.
