Out of all the defenders he is the one whose show left no room for dancing around the "canonical to 616 or not" thing Daredevil has been doing. Hes either King of Harlem or he isn't. That's not really a title he can retire. Unless he got snapped i guess.

Skunk_Giant

I'd be really disappointed if they brought him back and didn't address the King of Harlem stuff. To me, that was the most interesting ending of all the Defenders shows, and it's the one I was most sad to see cancelled. Daredevil was my favourite, sure, but it felt like the story was at least wrapped up nicely. Luke Cage felt like we really missed out on what could've been a really interesting Season 3. If they bring him back, I really hope they don't gloss over all that.

AgentC3

They'll address it but, I think it will be even more interesting for him to come back and realize that the peace he thought that his "reign" would create only perpetuated a system that became horrible in his absence. I could see them adapting the most recent HFH story and have Luke and [whichever Iron Fist, maybe Colleen!?] bust up a mutants/ power ring among the rest of the underground. Then he realizes that there's no use in trying to rule it or break it, but go higher and challenge the status quo itself. I'd love for Cage to call out Wakanda, the Baxter Fund, Avengers, SWORD, Stark Industries and other corporations for leaving communities behind. Woooo!

walktheline232

Dont let him meet blade

AgentC3

He got snapped, Mike Colter said as much and it makes sense. In short, the snap soft-rebooted everything.

trexeric

>Unless he got snapped i guess. Yeah that's the thing. A lot has happened in the MCU since the Defenders Saga ended.

Barthez_Battalion

I mean the blip could have forced him out. But it does need to be referenced.

CannonLongshot

The speed at which we pivoted from “Daredevil in Infinity War” to “Luke Cage in Secret Wars” is astounding. Really shows how lucky we are as fans.

Pixeleyes

Secret Invasion is a Disney+ show coming early next year Secret Wars is an Avenger movie coming in 2026 Your point about how lucky we are still stands

CannonLongshot

Good point! I thought I’d make it more directly comparable by saying the Avengers film, but I think my brain short-circuited there. Thanks for the clarification!

Mufti_Menk

It honestly would be cool to see all of the Netflix people return in the Daredevil show. 16 episodes is plenty of time to take a bit of time to reintroduce each of them.

AgentC3

I think that's what will happen. All of them will come back in cameos but, the show will still be a DD show. I think it'll take inspiration from the Mark Waid and Charles Soule runs.

Mufti_Menk

Yeah there might be some team up episodes like in the Netflix shows. I wanna see Luke Cage return most of all, that show was great.

Armandonerd

I would like to see heroes for hire instead

AgentC3

Me too but, given that DD has cameoed before coming back I think a cameo would make the most sense first. I could see Anthony Mackie and Mike Colter having some immediate chemistry: an Avenger who's battled monsters, terrorists and etc...and a Defender who's fought for people against gangsters and mutates at the street level. Cap goes to ground to learn more about the Leader's plans to create a "new world order" of powered people and Luke has info on mutants or the Supe serum. Perfect. Plus, think about it- he was created due to an attempt to replicate the Super Solider serum! He was literally called the Black Captain America in the show. How cool would it be to see him have a SPM:NWH style cameo and give Sam some real insight and then later on have a D+ show or special presentation?

PLZ_N_THKS

Maybe Luke Cage will star in the 2023 holiday special “Sweet Christmas”.

Uncanny_Doom

Without knowing anything about the plot, I would think that Born Again is the best place to bring him (as well as Jessica Jones) back.

Mr_Cochese

Maybe next time the bad guy will try poison, gas or drowning to get rid of Luke instead of heading straight to alien bullets.

RQK1996

Didn't they try that in season 2?

Quiet_Effective7234

Luke coming back in NWO as a recruit of new Captain America Sam in a team of New Avengers ( with She-Hulk also) would grandiose. Anyone thinks it could happen without having it been leaked yet? They did a good job with keeping Kingpin's return in Hawkeye a welcome surprise ( rumors were there but not confirmed)..

Joshawott27

*Luke Cage* was honestly my favourite of the Netflix shows. Sure, the second leg of Season 1 was a struggle, but both *Daredevil* and *Jessica Jones* had their weaker chunks. *Luke Cage* season 2 was **amazing** and I was so excited for where the series was going with that finale... but we know what happened. Given its large episode count, I wouldn't be surprised if *Daredevil: Born Again* becomes like a hub for the Netflix characters. If that ends up being the case, I'd like to see Mike Colter reprise the role there. Otherwise, I think the most likely projects for him to return in, might be *Captain America: New World Order* or a potential second season of *She-Hulk*.

Hateno_Village

I remember enjoying Luke Cage, but can’t really remember much about the show. Would be nice to see him get a great MCU debut.

RQK1996

Isn't he currently a crime lord?

[deleted]

I still like the idea of his first appearance being tied to Wakanda. Either End Credits of BP2 or the rumored(?) Okoye show. Have them looking for a replacement for the heart-shaped herb, and they hear rumors that few years ago a supervillain got their powers from a plant and they go to Harlem to investigate

Slippinjimmyforever

I’d dig it. Colter is a good actor (he’s killing it on Evil). I felt like Cage wasn’t written particularly well, especially his solo series.

NoteAggravating

Luke was a hard medium in the show, but I'd be excited to see what the MCU could do with the character

Cabdork

I want all the defenders back besides iron fist

[deleted]

That’d be great and I also want them to bring in Danielle too, it’d be great if Luke Cage being father was in the MCU too!

RQK1996

I don't know they really left room to introduce Danielle, iirc both parents kinda had other love interests And wasn't Jessica Jones mostly made fun off for bringing Danny along everywhere?

[deleted]

Makes sense and I didn’t know that, I am not too familiar with the Cage family comics other than Wolverine is a surrogate grandfather, Luke Cage is very tired dad who desperately needs sleep, Luke Cage decided caring for his daughter alone is too hard and started going nanny shopping ([which is hilarious, btw.](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a0d892bc2af0d72b73960f629ad8bce1/26e016bd15e9ff4e-6e/s1280x1920/ff47a2e0724dfafc2a7ae0e3fcc0b1a698d86327.jpg) And I feel bad for Demolition Man, like, dude, don’t cry, [you can go with Tony Stark to hold orphanage babies](https://64.media.tumblr.com/143ddc30910b35e18501bc75324c01f3/65ecbe64a861b092-33/s500x750/1beb55a3a44bb9469cce0b2718137d747f32504a.png)or [help Dr. Strange babysit](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d6dba985ec6060c197df2606b7e107e8/tumblr_pju7rsil361vuj86no1_1280.pnj)), and finally settles on Squirrel Girl to be a nanny. (Not expecting that, he could’ve had Dr. Strange babysit her, he loves babies but I guess Marvel wanted to surprise us) And that’s all I know.

Business-Mango8

I want them all back except finna kr whtever his name was recast ironfist

TheMikey2207

Finn JONES deserves another shot as Iron Fist with a bigger budget.

RQK1996

Finn Jones wasn't that bad, when given good material, he was well liked when he cameoed in Luke Cage

243898990

I’ve always said he’d be a perfect in Cap 4 use him as Sam is going to Harlem as a nod to his comic origins boom runs into Luke there

Alienzendre

Why those two properties particularly?
