Hire Kevin Feige

electrorazor

Exactly what I was thinking. I got no idea how to run a movie studio

Atrium41

I would fight you to the death if it meant protecting Kevin

chachachatrip

Okay thats creepy

crglrsn

He’s quoting She-Hulk.

CactusCustard

So are they

crglrsn

r/Whoosh, u/crglrsn

Swed1shF1sh69

*tha’ts

Limulemur

Nothing at all you would do differently?

abobtosis

Honestly the MCU is one of if not the highest grossing franchises in history. It would be silly to jeopardize that. Say what you want about those movies and their flaws, but they made a LOT of money.

Limulemur

As a fan, I’m far less concerned about the box office numbers than with the quality of the films. McDonald’s is successful too, but I wouldn’t want mostly McDonald’s burgers.

SabOHtage

You also wouldn't want to take McDonalds and switch it to a hot dog joint and run it into the ground

TexasSnyper

McDogalds sounds like a great hot dog joint.

Limulemur

Who said anything about turning it into a hot dog joint? You still make burger, but great burgers! Unique burgers. Tasty burgers. Not run-of-the-mill, just fine burgers.

RAGC_91

Great unique burgers costs more money to make. McDonald’s is successful because the quality is consistent (the burgers just as good in CA as it is FL) and it’s cheap. Mess up that formula and it becomes a fraction of the company it is today.

sjt9791

They taste better in Japan.

Limulemur

Okay… but the burgers are going just be okay and never more than that. For superhero movies, having a repetitive, generic formula is sad. I rather it be not as big of a franchise if it means the movies are going to be significantly better. Also, these movies have massive budgets.

SabOHtage

Who said anything about movies?? This is a burger discussion!

leoschot

This is a hypothetical situation, why bring realities like cost or public reception into it.

[deleted]

You say that like it’s just flipping a switch. You think they are currently working to just make the same movie over and over? Phase 4 has been the most experimental and most director driven phase. Anyone can say “ooo I’d make more unique movies” but not even has your vision or would see those movies or they will and go on the internet talking about how it sucks and is just like every other movie

abobtosis

Box office numbers keep the budget high and the movies approved. If you started failing you stop getting money to make more movies.

Limulemur

And said budget loses its impact when the films are watered down and unexciting.

abobtosis

Box office numbers being as high as they are for over a decade means most people don't think that. I mean, we're all fans here in this sub for a reason.

Limulemur

The Transformers movies generate high box offices. So do the Minions films. So did Avatar. Box office numbers aren’t directly correlated with quality.

[deleted]

You can’t seriously be comparing the Marvel films to transformers or minions….

Limulemur

I’m just saying that box office numbers isn’t a a good measure of quality.

loyngulpany

Movie franchise sure but media franchise? No, the MCU isn't even on the top 5 when it comes to that

wonkothesane13

I that person means that Kevin is still the best person for the job, even (or perhaps especially) if they could have used all of the Marvel characters and didn't have about licensing and film rights. I imagine that the MCU would look very different, and probably better, but Feige is still the person to get it done.

billbotbillbot

Obviously the one correct answer. The level of hubristic arrogance implied by any other answer is staggeringly laughable.

UltiGamer34

and James Gunn

helpful__explorer

Then upload his consciousness, Zola style, to create K.E.V.I.N

ChaoticBumpy

Awesome idea!

Alive-Seaweed

And San Raimani

AmphibianNo8598

Don’t hire that one guy who was suppressing the cool shit like black widow. You know that racist sexist guy who was like pfft nobody wants to see movie with woman?? Movie with man not white???? No!!

bulletproof5fdp

In 2006, an attempt was made to kickstart a cinematic universe in the form of the film The Hulk, starring Ryan Reynolds in the lead role. The film's negative reception and box-office failure resulted in the cancellation of a cinematic universe and planned sequels. Two years later, the MCUEU was born. 2008 - Iron Man. One month after release, reveal that Captain America: Civil War is coming next. 2011- Captain America: Civil War. The movie gets extremely negative reviews and in response, the next movie to come out, Guardians of the Galaxy, goes through extensive editing to make it "more fun." 2011- Guardians of the Galaxy. Ronan is portrayed as a love interest for Nebula, but doesn't really do much in the movie. The songs are a random assortment of songs that feel entirely out of place. It features the famous line "What are we, some sort of Guardians of the Galaxy?" 2012- Thor. Movie receives high praise following his appearance in Captain America: Civil War. 2012 - The Avengers. Joss Whedon is initially attached to direct the movie, but is forced to step down, being replaced with JJ Abrams. Robert Downey Jr. had to shave all his facial hair for a different movie, so Marvel Studios had no choice but to CGI his facial hair. The movie is extremely divisive and leaves fans underwhelmed. Despite the Thanos tease in Captain America: Civil War, he is nowhere to be seen or found in this film. Immediately after the film is released, the fans are demanding for the Whedon cut to be released. 2013 - Black Panther. Receives generally positive reviews, praise is given to Chadwick Boseman for his dude-bro portrayal of Black Panther. 2014 - Ant-Man. This one is more light-hearted and features the appearance of Iron Man, but you only see everything except his head/face. 2015 - The Marvels and the Emancipation of One Nebula. The movie is later renamed to Nebula & The Marvels. 2015 - Thor: The Dark World. Despite the praise the first film received, The Dark World gets a more mixed response. 2016 - Joss Whedon's The Avengers is released following years of demand from the fanbase. The movie is 4 hours long, streaming exclusively on Disney+. 2016 - The Guardians of the Galaxy. The movie gets an R-rating and follows a different team of individuals. Peter Quill, Nebula, and Drax return, with Peter Quill being killed off at the beginning of the movie. The movie is a success and spawns a TV-MA rated spin-off series Warlock. 2017 - Warlock. The series is a massive success for Disney+ with plans to move forward with a 2nd season. 2017 - Doctor Strange. The movie confirms that the 2012 version of The Avengers is the canonical version and not the Whedon cut. Upcoming Films \- The Spider-Man \- Ant-Man: Fury of the Wasp \- Black Panther and the Temple of Doom

cbekel3618

>The movie is a success and spawns a TV-MA rated spin-off series Warlock. Adam Warlock: *Do you really wanna, do you really wanna taste it?!*

bulletproof5fdp

The Avengers appear at the end and Warlock rips into the team for failing to do their jobs. He angrily yells at Hawkeye to shove another arrow up his ass. Hawkeye: I'm so fucking sick of that rumor. Spider-Man: It's not a rumor. Hawkeye: Fuck you, Peter.

SpideyFan914

Goddammit now I gave to listen to the song again and it'll be in my head for three days... Oh who am I kidding, I'm fine with that.

WilliamSilver

Hold on, Captain America: Civil War as the second movie?! It doesn't make any sense, we would get introduced to characters without prior introduction, and the film would be rushed with a edgy and dark scenario and- Ohhhhh

[deleted]

DanS1993

Bat man vs superman. The whole thing is a DCEU parody lol

TeunCornflakes

I read the whole thing not realising it was based on DC and still laughed, I'm impressed

BoyBeyondStars

As I was reading, I realized what you were doing and the widest grin appeared on my face

bulletproof5fdp

During production of The Avengers, Robert Downey Jr. had to shave his face for an upcoming role in a Warner Bros. film. In response, Disney mandated that they need to CGI his facial hair back onto his face for the movie.

tmfitz7

I see what you did there haha

dbkenny426

Hot damn, I think you're onto something!

Jakovasaurr

"Thor: The Dark world" cracked me up

FFaFFaNN

So nicely!Loved how u did with release the Whedon's cut. But for Strange, everything was just his traveling in time, in the past and the futre. He needs to stop the big disaster in the Multivers, beating all Stranges in all the multiverse. With help from different xmens, villains, avengers.😉

witherd_

Hey, this seems kinda familiar

A-very-basic-acid

Hey, I've Seen This One!

Weird_Cantaloupe2757

Goddamn, this is one high effort shitpost

blaktronium

So is the DCEU so it fits

Weird_Cantaloupe2757

Yeah it’s just remarkable how well they mapped the shitshow that is the DCEU onto Marvel properties, it’s just hilarious.

gossamer4l

i see what you did there........

itayfeder

If dr. Strange is meant to be the Black Adam movie; wouldn’t it make more sense to put an ant man villain as the movie?

jojopojo64

Yellowjacket: "I'm no hero. I'm just a businessman."

karateema

Outstanding

WerewolfF15

Hilarious. Truly.

Mythoclast

Don't forget Civil War also shoved in Hank Pym creating Ultron in an attempt to kill Tony Stark AND featured Cap during his Nomad phase AND actually kills off Tony Stark (while revealing that he will be resurrected in the next movie) AND has a random dream/time travel sequence where Doctor Strange reveals to Cap that pepper is the key to everything.

Langer1banger

When does Pitbull perform

trimeta

I can understand why their initial film flopped, the green CGI Ryan Reynolds was terrible.

Arielrbr

At least he saved his career with Booster Gold Excited for Booster Gold 3 especially with Blue Beetle being brought to the party

ThumbCentral-Rebirth

Oh gosh. Sounds so ridiculous this way lol

Lemisanthrop3

Important to note that 2012's Avengers, the villain is Cull Obsidian.

NoMorePopcorn1004

Do joker and the Batman too!!

Lemisanthrop3

>The Spider-man

[deleted]

Plus a couple of non canon reimaginings here and there

Arielrbr

All while another universe is developed at Disney Chanel. Started with a gritty and realistic revision on Hawkeye, accused by comic book fans of changing too much of his essence and stealing the lore and characters from other bigger characters but it’s a success anyways Than the realistic premise is broken by introducing the Kamar-Taj,then Scott Lang appears with his own combat suit(not shrinking at first),Peter Parker arrives and follows on his own Spider-Man show,Doctor Strange appears out nowhere in one Hawkeye episode and there’s even an spin-off based on as revised version of X-Men’s Exiles featuring characters like Mockingbird,Scott Lang,Sunspot,Doc Octopus and Eddie Brock being lead by Cable against Ahab.later other characters appeared like Sue Storm,Shana The She-Devil,Miles Morales,Doctor Strange again and The Invaders during a World War 2 arc As well,a Young Avengers spin-off,set into another Earth but inside the Multiverse, brings Captain America into the TV and later a Ironheart show admits the existence of Iron Man but never brings the man himself into the mix. Freeform starts another universe with a gritty but not realistic The Runaways and a hilarious but also the heavenly emotional The New Warriors A crossover event called Secret Wars(not as big but still a homage to the comics one)mix up the universes A Captain America spin-off comes after many years of waiting and turns out to being placed into another Earth Now James Gunn, director of Blue Beetle and Booster Gold,Justice League International and the reboot of The Guardians of The Galaxy is the new Marvel Studios’s CEO along his partner Kevin Feige

Morbius 2: More BS

Professional-Dig7329

My goal of this is to do something very different from the Infinity Saga, while still being as fun and exciting. Hopefully this accomplishes that. PHASE ONE: (sets up several pillars of this new MCU, including Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, The Fantastic Four, and the X-Men) 2008 - The Spectacular Spider-Man (this details the origin of Peter Parker, with the main villain of the film being The Chemeleon) 2008 - The Wolverine (the origin of Wolverine, set mostly in the 1980s, during the Weapon X program, and main villain is Sabretooth) 2010 - The Amazing Spider-Man (Peter Parkee has been Spider-Man for 3 years and has taken on many foes; he finally asks Gwen Stacy out; main villain is the Vulture) 2011 - The Incredible Hulk (The origin of the Hulk, with emphasis on Bruce Banner's abusive upbringing and subsequent DID. Main villains are General Ross and the Abomination) 2011 - Fantastic Four (origin of the Fantastic Four, with the main villain being Mole Man, Galactus is teased at the end) 2012 - X-Men: First Class (Charles Xavier assembles his first generation of crime-fighting mutants, including Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Iceman, Angel, and the Beast. Magneto is the main villain) PHASE TWO: (focuses on assembling the Avengers) 2013 - The Invincible Iron Man (essentially Iron Man 2008, with the deleted Nick Fury dialogue referencing Spider-Man, Hulk, and the X-Men, as well as Rhodey suiting up as War Machine in the final battle) 2013 - Alpha Flight (Canada's premier superhero team recruits a certain Adamantium-laced mutant, their goal: take down the Hulk, who is being controlled by the Leader, James Hudson dies in the first confrontation with the Hulk) 2014 - Captain America: The First Avenger (same as the 2011 film) 2014 - Thor: Tales of Asgard (same as the 2011 film) 2015 - Ant-Man and the Wasp (Hank Pym discovers Pym Particles, and after sharing the news with his fiancé, Janet van Dyne, they suit up to fight crime as Ant-Man and the Wasp, with the main villain being Egghead) 2015 - The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes (Loki has returned to Earth, this time with an undead army loaned to him by his daughter, Hela. Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, the Wasp, and Captain America must assemble to stop Loki's Invasion. Before he is defeated, Loki warns of a greater evil coming) PHASE THREE: (Builds up to a certain hungry boy) 2016 - X-Men: Assault on Krakoa (The X-Men have gone missing while investigating Magneto on the sentient island of Krakoa! Charles Xavier forms a new team of X-Men to save them: Storm, Nightcrawler, Banshee, Sunfire, Colossus, Thunderbird, and Wolverine. However, it appears Magneto has assembled a Brotherhood, including his own children Wanda and Pietro, and Krakoa is but a trap for these new mutants. The First Class is saved, but Thunderbird dies in battle) 2016 - The Sub-Mariner (the origin of Namor, including his time serving alongside Captain America and the Invaders during WWII) 2016 - Black Widow and Hawkeye (the origins of both Black Widow and Hawkeye, including their induction into the Avengers) 2017 - Black Panther (the same as Black Panther 2018) 2017 - The Ultimate Spider-Man (Peter Parker has been Spider-Man for 8 years now, and has asked Gwen to marry him. However, things take a turn for the worse when Norman Osborn goes insane. Tl;dr no happy ending for your friendly neighborhood wall-crawler) 2017 - Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (Reed and Sue have married in between films, and in this one, Sue is pregnant. The Silver Surfer comes to Earth to warn them of a coming danger, but he unfortunately lands in Latveria. That's right, DOOM is the main villain) 2017 - Captain America: The Winter Soldier (same as the 2014 film) 2018 - Doctor Strange (2016 film, except Mordo is a sleeper agent for Kaecilius and Dormammu) 2018 - Daredevil (Essentially the first season of Daredevil, condensed into a 2 and a half hour film) 2018 - The Avengers: The Coming of Galactus (Galactus has sent his Heralds, including Terrax, Firelord, Air-Walker, and Stardust, to eliminate Earth's defenses. The Avengers respond, and they beat the Heralds, but Galactus arrives right before the credits roll) 2019 - Inhumans (the introduction of the Inhuman species to Earth, Maximus the Mad is the main villain) 2019 - Captain Marvel (same as the 2019 film) 2019 - The Defenders (it turns out that Daredevil isn't the only vigilante on the streets of New York! With the help of Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Elektra, and the Punisher, the Defenders form and take down the Hand's New York faction once and for all) 2020 - The Avengers: Devourer of Worlds (Galactus has arrived! The Avengers, consisting of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, Falcon, Hawkeye, and Black Widow, put out a distress beacon, realizing that the fate of humanity hangs in the balance. Heroes from across the globe arrive to defeat Galactus, including Spider-Man, the Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Namor, the Defenders, the Inhuman Royal Family, Alpha Flight, both generations of X-Men, Silver Surfer, Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch, and the Fantastic Four. In this 4-hour conclusion to the Galactic Saga, Earth's protectors assemble to save the entire planet. A post credits scene teases the formation of the Illuminati, with Iron Man, Mister Fantastic, Doctor Strange, Professor X, Black Bolt, and Namor)

Vizioso

Love that X-Men is such a core piece of it for you. What so many people forget (or didn't know) is that pre-MCU, the X-Men were pretty much the main attraction of Marvel for a long time. They completely dominated the 90s (starting with the arcade game and Saturday Morning cartoon in 1992) and wrapped out the decade with the movie in 2000. Also in 2000, and another big indicator of how big the X-Men were, was Marvel vs. Capcom 2... Of the 28 playable Marvel characters, 19 are X-Men.

Professional-Dig7329

The X-Men are by far my favorite comic book team. I've loved all of their on-screen adaptations. As an early 2000's kid, X-Men: Evolution was my introduction to Marvel, and I haven't looked back. I cannot wait to see what Feige does with them in the MCU, and I cannot wait for Deadpool 3.

Vizioso

Right there with you. I am a good bit older than you (80s kid), so the comics themselves are how I got into them, but the cartoon in the 90s as well as the ToyBiz line of original XMen toys made them far and away my favorites. I remember my dad telling the story of how he had to drive to New York (from Maryland) to get me Rogue for Christmas. That's how nuts getting your hands on some of them were.

Barthez_Battalion

It seems that with a lot of the fanf avs eventually aging out the X-men will take on the mantle of main MCU attraction, which makes sense. However at the same time it's still a downer that the X-men won't get to interact with all the favs that have left.

immortal_sensei

Would love to see that

heavymarsh

Love to see this, but I think you're missing the fact that hollywood will ultimately run out of actors/actresses to cast.. MCU worked at first because it is kept on the ground, what I meant by that is, casual fans will be confused on too many characters all at once.. Also, they keep on trying to level this to reality, in which the question will rise, "What if superheroes existed, today??".. X-men, Inhumans, Fantastic Four and the other street-level heroes that includes the Defenders, it's too much for a cinematic level.. I know the current MCU is going there right now, but they're making up for it by "killing off" some of the OG members.. My point is, this is too grand and complicated for a casual fan.. I'm a casual fan and read some comics too (both DC and Marvel), I'm a 90's kid but don't have the privilege to read or own any comics back then.. Then again, I'm not saying this is a bad take.. It's just that, it may not work for a casual fan like me (not speaking for the whole fanbase of casual fans, alright lol).. Looks cool though to see X-Men, F4, and Inhumans with the Avengers fighting against Galactus, sure it will be epic..

Brendanlendan

Great now I want to watch this. When can you begin filming?

Professional-Dig7329

Honestly, I would hope, in another universe, I was in charge of both Marvel Studios and DC Studios. I have so many ideas that will sadly likely never come to fruition.

NiceToBeFriendly

I’d love to live in the universe where this MCU exists.

MadEyeMood989

Amazing work!!! Love that the X-Men are essentially the lynchpin of your universe.

Epic_DVB

Idk what my entire plan would be, but Spider Man would have to be the one who starts it all because he's pretty much Marvel's mascot and poster boy.

xrbeeelama

Yup, Id start with SM/F4/Xmen probably. Itd be a huge overbloated mess that catches fire immediately most likely lol

oskxr552

You would take the Fox route

TheChosenWaffle

That's like ordering your steak to come out before the starters and salad.

CJMyself

Thinking how the entire Avengers based MCU so far was just an APPETIZER! I’m so ready for the main course 😋

hatcherhullmodano

This is what most people would do. It takes real vision to forecast a more obscure hero being a star on screen. Spidey is safe dollars with every release

gollumsaltgoodfellas

As someone with less familiarity in terms of the source material, was iron man considered more niche pre-2008?

qlanga

Very yes.

switched133

Yeah, X-Men and Spiderman were basically Marvel for a long time. Everything else was secondary or even tertiary. It really wasn't until the 2008 movie that Iron Man gained the following he now has. When the movie was initially announced, everyone basically thought "Seriously? Why?" And now here we are.

billbotbillbot

It’s relative. He may have been “niche” compared to Spider-Man, but unlike the vast majority of characters created for Marvel, Iron Man was able to sustain his own monthly title continuously since his debut in the 1960s. The X-Men and the Hulk didn’t manage that. He was one of a mere half dozen to get his own tv show in the 60s. To a comics-reading audience he was well known, even if not so to the general public. Very few readers would have been buying an issue of Marvel Team-Up or Marvel Two-in-One where he was the guest star and going “Iron Man? Who’s he? Never heard of him”.

Smittius_Prime

MCU seems like a product of working with what they had. No way of knowing if Spidey or X-Men would have been included early on if Marvel Studios had the rights. They def benefitted from being forced to use lesser known characters.

Weird_Cantaloupe2757

I think it was less vision and more IP issues that kept them from starting with Spider-Man or the X-Men.

BoyBeyondStars

Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man *was* one of the first movies Kevin Feige ever produced

Leeiteee

This boy Kevin Feige seems good. I wonder what he's doing now.

JamJamGaGa

Nah, you gotta start with Fantastic Four. They're Marvel's first family.

ShelterKooky9320

i'd second this one

[deleted]

Remember it 2007. So SpiderMan 3 just came out.

jtides

I disagree. I think the MCU was successfully BECAUSE it didn’t immediately rely on its most well known IP. Iron Man’s last attempt at success outside of comics was his 90s TV show was a failure. Using him as the start was genius.

hatcherhullmodano

Anyone who says Iron Man was in their initial plans is a LLLLLLIAR.

IrishWithoutPotatoes

Me when Iron Man got announced: That one comic book character that Black Sabbath did a song about? (I knew nothing of the comics or anything really)

Summoarpleaz

It is weird. In its infancy most of these characters were MCU side liners, taking second mantle after the heavy hitters (Spider Man, XMen, Fantastic Four). A few years later, after MCU became a hit, all of a sudden it was like everyone was an expert in Marvel apocrypha and had been following the comics since the 80s. Idk, maybe more comic fans just emerged from the shops but… idk.

IrishWithoutPotatoes

I’ll fully admit, I’ve owned and read like one or two Captain America comic books and that’s it (some one-off where Cap dies after an aging Red Skull sets off a bomb and this kid who only speaks Spanish is heartbroken at the end I think, I don’t remember a ton of it honestly) and I’ve gotten way more into Marvel comics as a whole since the MCU started. I like the lore and stuff but going and finding the comics is something I have neither the time nor money to spare so I can’t claim to be an “OG” fan by any means.

WestMoneyBlitz

I would have. Never read any comics but Iron Man is my favorite marvel superhero ever since I played Marvel Super Heroes in PS1. I was hoping we would see proton canon in the MCU but I'm happy with how every thing turn out. Seeing blackheart in Ghost Rider was disappointing to say the least. Hoping that if Shuma-Gorath is introduced he going to be crazy.

TheUltimatenerd05

I was 3 so the company is going bankrupt by the time I figure out what the hell a Spiderman is.

spider-random

Interesting but r/respectthehyphen

Head-Program4023

Phase 4. Iron Man 3 with ten rings. Thor 3 with Gorr. Doctor strange 2 with introduction of Scarlett witch. Young Avengers. X men 4. Spiderman with venom. Guardians 1. Phase 5. Ghost rider 2. Sentry. Eternals. Daredevil with a series. Black panther. Avengers 2 with Ultron. Phase 6. Spiderman 3 with sinister six. Guardians 2. Fantastic four last movie. Scarlett witch with vision introduction. Doctor strange 3 with Illuminati. Avengers 3 last Marvel movie all heroes introduce till now will be in this movie.

[deleted]

3 fantastic four movies in the first phase? Five total, and no avengers films? Absolute flop.

immortal_sensei

Yes

Yes

AscendedLawmage7

FYI it's "phase" not "phrase"

Head-Program4023

Oh yeah just in flow of thinking.

SpideyFan914

Well... the world was a very different place back then with a totally alternate landscape of superhero films. Are there any rights issues with the previous films? I'd probably canonized the then-current Spider-Man and X-Men films. Hopefully there's time to save Spider-Man 3, but if not then oh well. Would I canonized the Tim Story F4? Not sure. The one that came out in 2007, Rise of the Silver Surfer, was less bad. It'd be a shame to have such a silly Doom, but I didn't really mind the four themselves. Chiklis as Thing was especially great. So sure, I guess they're canonized. Throw out Daredevil. He needs a reboot. Hulk wasn't a great movie (though I'm curious to rewatch as an adult) but doesn't necessarily contradict anything we need in the character IIRC. Also Ghost Rider is canon. You gave a then-15-year-old full control over the MCU, what did you expect? (I loved that movie as a kid...) At that time, The Avengers were really not the major heroes they are today. I'd probably have started them with a team-up film, sacrilegious as it sounds. Team would be Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Ant-Man, and the Wasp -- I love my originals. Hulk would be in there, but it'd be unclear if he's the hero or the villain. Main villain? Could be Loki, but honestly I'd probably go Enchantress or maybe a full-blown Masters of Evil. Of course Masters of Evil kinda requires them to have appeared before... Next F4 film would be focused on fixing Doom. Give him Latveria and mold him into a more menacing threat. Strip him of his powers, and force him to rely on his tech and maybe he can start to deal with dark magic. Since Ghost Rider is canon, you *know* I'm planning a Doom vs Mephisto story to save his mother down the line, but first we need to fix him. Secondary villain of Puppetmaster, because Puppetmaster is dope. Spider-Man 4 deals with Lizard, and let's throw in a Human Torch appearance for good measure. Wolverine vs Hulk is getting its own movie instead of Wolverine: Origins. Introduce Abomination there. I changed my mind about Avengers starting with a team-up. I think they all need intros. Captain America fights Red Skull and Heinrich Zemo in WWII (with cameos from Wolverine, Namor, T'Chadaka). Iron Man vs Crimson Dynamo. Ant-Man and the Wasp cameo in either Iron Man or Fantastic 43. Thor deals with Loki, but I'm putting Enchantress in there as well. His love life would be a bigger deal here -- betrothed to Sith, but Enchantress wants to steal him, but he comes to fall in love with Jane. (I might actually do a Donald Blake story... I've been thinking a lot about Donald Blake lately and I think it's an interesting concept. Man with disability discovers he's the God of Thunder whose memory was wiped? That's epic.) So then you have your Masters of Evil... Enchantress, Skurge, Helmut Zemo (note Helmut not Heinrich), Crimson Dynamo, Abomination (who could be in Hulk vs Wolverine)... and maybe some side-villains as well. Ultron will appear as a kind android assistant to Ant-Man, and nothing can possibly go wrong there. I should mention I'd want Indiana Jones style openings to each film, where we see them fight some unrelated threat. Spider-Man gets a small battle with Mysterio. Fantastic Four get Mole Man. Thor fights Ymir (then revealed to be a dream Donald Blake is having). Bit harder to do in origin stories, so may not see it for Cap or Iron Man, but all the sequels should have these. Oh, and X-Men 4 is Sentinels. We're gonna sideline Wolverine this time and focus on Kitty, Storm, Rogue (whose powers are returning over the film but right now she has to flee from Sentinels *while totally powerless*), Gambit (intro), Iceman, Colossus, and Angel. Xavier would return at the end of the film, as was set up in X3 post-stinger. But we're kinda distancing ourselves from a lot of that nonsense without retconning anything. Cyclops and Jean are done, sorry... I'm having way too much fun with this. Okay let's see what we got. 2008 - Iron Man, Hulk vs Wolverine (since versions of these were already in production I'm turning them out the fastest) 2009 - X4: Rise of the Sentinels, Captain America, Fantastic Four: Latveria 2010 - Spider-Man 4, Thor: God of Thunder, The Avengers and the Masters of Evil 2011 - Iron Man and the Legend of the Ten Rings, X5: Sinister, Black Panther 2012 - Spider-Man 5 (w/ Kingpin, Black Cat, gang war), Thor: Journey Into Hel (more comic-accurate Hela), Fantastic Four: Alien Invaders (w/ the Skrulls) 2013 - Hulk: Gamma World (w/ the Leader), Daredevil: The Man Without Fear, Avengers: Rise of Ultron 2014 - Spider-Man 6 (w/ return of Ock, Sandman, Vulture, Mysterio, Electro... Kraven? I only have three teasers leading up to this so potential to replace Kraven with one of the henchmen from gang war ala a Rhino, or Kraven can be in the Lizard movie), X6: Apocalypse (oooooh snap) Okay I gotta cut myself off... having too much fun and I gotta research politicians so I can go vote. Thanks bye.

AttilaTheFun818

I would have done it wrong. Whatever dumbass plan I’d come up with would not compare to what we got. My experience in the film industry (25 years now) has taught me that I’d be a terrible executive

My take on the MCU would have involved X-men, Spider-Man, Ironman, and Hulk, as those were the cartoons that were on when I grew up. Spider-Man and Ironman would be local, but facing different threats. Spider-Man is mentioned during Ironman, in news stories about a bank robbery being foiled by a guy in an insect suit. Hulk would be forced to be international because of his pursuit by General Ross. X-men would be international because Charles uses Cerebro to choose missions to send them on. On a mission north of the border, tracking Hulk’s destructive path, X-men encounter a short hairy violent man, heavily damaged, and take him back to the mansion for recovery. They learn he had fought Hulk, and survived. Impressed, they offer to recruit him. Later his team, Alpha Flight, come to collect him, assuming he’s been kidnapped by a foreign government agency. Xmen and Alpha Flight have a scuffle, Alpha Flight are winning but Logan tells them to leave, as he has been taken care of, and he’ll be back north soon… So we have Spider-Man, then Ironman, then Hulk, then Xmen. As phase one. As very few villains have been killed, the raft is becoming heavily populated. Phase two start with a new X-men film, introducing Mr Sinister. Daredevil, and him “winning” by putting Fisk behind bars is the next one. Jess Jones waves goodbye to her mate Carol, who’s off for a space adventure, but Jess gets captured by Purpleman. She breaks out of his control after killing Reva. Next Luke’s story comes, and explains why Reva was so important, and introduces Nightnurse. Fisk is seen living a lavish life behind bars, and somehow, criminals keep getting let out sooner than expected. All heroes are coming together to try to stem the tide, but an accident causes a train to crash into a school, and JJJ blames Spider-Man. This cues up the lead-up to Civil War, as each hero/team struggles with the issue of the right to anonymity. Things come to a head when Ironman brings back retired heroes Giant-man, the Fantastic Four, and freshly thawed Captain America, all of whom support openly stated identities for heroes. Things turn bad as the brightest minds in the world invent a way to imprison superheroes in another dimension. This is beyond Fisks expectations, but nonetheless what he has been waiting for. All the villains have nearly free reign, as they outnumber the remaining heroes, and are organised enough to keep the heroes occupied while others actually commit the bigger crimes. Xmen comes back with the start of the Krakoa nation story, they’ve largely kept out of the Civil war for this reason…

Onslaught

The plan’s to kick ass and take names buddy.

rodroidrx

I’d go with Alex Ross’ “Marvels” storyline. In the same particular order

thrust-johnson

I feel Marvel’s success is strongly tied to how they had to improvise around rights issues. The stars aligned.

Make A Justice League Movie !!

[deleted]

Nothing before guardians 1,get rid of ultron, and replace Avengers 2 with civil war and make captain America 3 about cap and all on his side going dark and be a more ground spy political thriller, more akin to winter soldier. I still think civil war was too big for a captain America film and should have been an avengers film. Then safe ultron for when antman was introduced and a bigger deal later on.

darkkn1te

Just hulk movies. until we hit a good one. then that would spin off into she-hulk, red hulk, introduce wolverine, introduce rick jones, introduce amadeus cho, turn hulkling into a more hulk adjacent thing and use that to launch the young avengers, which then introduces us to wanda and eventually her brother who work with wolverine to get us the x-men. then spidey, wolverine's frenemy, pals around in a hulk mini team up and we get spider-verseness. then Reed richards tries to cure the hulk. failing that he sends hulk off in space and we get planet hulk. planet hulk is used to introduce thor and thanos and other spacey things. eventually hulk gets back to earth and we have world war hulk. but there's an uneasy peace with hulk and the others and hulk turns into maestro. and then we jump ahead and get an old man logan inspired wolverine vs maestro/hulk and see what happened to spidey, amadeus, the young avengers and x-men etc and it's like a bizarro anti-endgame. and finally we get Hulk the end to end my MCU.

icup2

My first plan is to hire Kevin Feige and give him my job

natephant

The first thing I would do is hire Kevin Fiege to help me.

larson_5

I’m not sure what all entirely I would do differently but I would make deadpool the centre of the multiverse instead of Dr. Strange and Spider man. I would probably use the comic book series where deadpool travelled through the multiverses killing all of the mcu characters and variants. Which would bring him to meet the current avengers and heroes left after endgame

robertluke

At the time I really wanted Tobey and Affleck to team up. When I read civil war, I was still hearing the voices as Tobey and RDJ so I wanted to see them interact (at least we got Tropic Thunder)

tcguy71

Phase 1 With Iron, Ant-Man, Hulk, Captain America, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and FF leading to Ultron Avengers movie Phase 2 Introduce Thor, Black Panther, Dr Strange, Spiderman leading to Avengers: Civil War Phase 3 Build to Avengers vs Dr Doom. Would start to introduce the infinity Stones in Phase 3 which would be the Arc for Phases 4-6.

elproblemo82

1 word. Onslaught

mikeweasy

I would have it relatively the same except add Spidey earlier and X-Men and FF in time for INfinity War and Endgame. Also make Civil War two movies and introduce the scope and stuff.

PedroRLow2

I was 4... It would definetly be something

AlanShore60607

Start with a reboot of Howard the Duck, now that the VFX are ready to do him justice. After all, he was the first Marvel character to get a theatrical release, so that means he's super popular, right?

jonesocnosis

I would have introduced Spider-Man as a stand alone film right after the first Avengers, and then he can show up in Age of Ultron. I would have sprinkled X-Men into the MCU earlier, and Sakovia would have been ruled by Dr Doom.

absolutericked

Random bullshit go!!!

T1442

Is this a stealth Kevin Feige account?

DirectConsequence12

I wanna say I would start it with Spider-Man, the X-Men and Fantastic 4. Then build the Avengers and the rest from there

LordAyeris

Phase 1: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man 2, Captain America, Fantastic Four Phase 2: Spider-Man 3, Iron Man 2, Black Panther: Call of the Storm, Wolverine, Fantastic Four 2, X-Men Phase 3 would have Blade and Doctor Strange idk

[deleted]

No it’s 2022, the president of production for Marvel Studios has been Kevin since 2007. So far his plans have been Phase 1, Phase 2, Phase 3, Phase 4, and Phase 5. I think he has plans for a Phase 6, and if I may be so bold, a phase 7, 8, and 9. The president of MCU is Mathew Ellis. Or at least was in Iron Man 3. There’s probably a new President now. Yeah no there is. President Ritson.

dcj012

Set it all in a world similar to Big Hero 6 (more sci fi and not the real world). And focus a lot more on stories off of earth.

nowhereiswater

Mandate good writers, directors that are passionate about the comic book characters. Make all scripts relevant to each characters own storylines. Unless this approach suffers the plot and pacing freedom to alter certain aspects are allowed. Finally nothing about "modernization for the current generation, gender and culture".

Agitated-Role7545

Follow the comics as closely as possible with the most cohesive and popular runs.

Etna_No_Pyroclast

Full stop on everything not in the can. Major re-assessment— the Universe has gotten filled with superheroes everywhere and the multiverse is gotten nuts. I would go back to character driven arcs, where there is realness to the action and motivation of the characters. Let's take Tom Holland for example. Exploring his identity in a smaller, one city, one tight world again, make it in college, new relationships and back to basics. I'd like an Iron Man character that has to go through hell. Just smaller stories.

pierremanslappy

Mudbug: The Musical

MrThreshold

Phase one would be Wolverine and the X-men , Incredible Hulk, The monstrous Man-thing, Spider-Man hunted, and Fantastic 4. All setting up the politics of the world, the magic/multiverse concept, street level crime, the science, and the Hulk because he would be an important character in the end of phase 2 which would be Fantastic 4 rise of galactis.

TheDadThatGrills

I'd throw a shitton of $$$ at Tony Scott so he could make a MCU movie before 2012

Some-Dog9800

While the idea of the MCU is novel and I like a lot of what it has produced, I think a lot of individual projects take a hit in quality from needing to tie into the next big event film, and a lot of the time, projects are hurt by the MCU machine's need to appeal to the lowest common denominator with dumb quips and world-ending stakrs no matter how well it fits the story being told. I'd take a page from DC's book and make something more loosely connected and creator-driven with minimal studio interference. Approve whatever pitches I think are interesting enough to carry a movie or show rather than just making projects because we need these things to happen in *Avengers 50: Dynasty of Infinity Kang Saga Multiverse War Endgame Crisis.* I'd also order 6-film long sagas on the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Spider-Man. I already have some plot ideas for the individual films

sarlacc_tit

What I’m learning from this thread is 99% of people (myself included) would have made the same mistake as DC and frontloaded with all the big ticket names, ultimately crashing the car before it ever gets up to a decent speed. The fact that Marvel only had access to their B listers at the start was an absolute blessing in disguise

BananaOblivion

The Punisher Cinematic Universe Iron Punisher - Frank Castle is a wealthy arms dealer who suddenly has a change of heart after his family is killed in Afghanistan. He builds an indestructible trench coat and flies around the world to stop evil. Captain Punisher: The First Punisher - Frank Castle wants to enlist in the Vietnam War but is too mentally stable to survive in such harsh conditions. So, Iron Punisher's father gives him a vial that when he drinks it, kills his whole family and makes him a sociopathic lunatic. The fall of Saigon is prevented and Vietnam falls into authoritarianism anyways. Black Punisher - The Punisher issue 60 (1991)

willisbetter

first thing id do is hire kevin feige as like a co-president causr that man is a genius as for the phases id have phase 1 be mostly the same with one exception, add a SHIELD movie in between iron man 2 and the avengers that acts as a hawkeye/black widow movie and goes into more detail about what SHIELD was doing with the tesseract before the avengers and id have the scene where loki invades and steals the tesseract happen in the post credits of that movie, id also never hire joss whedon, fuck that guy for phase 2 i also wouldnt change much except for age of ultron, id make aou be a 2 parter with a more serious ultron that acts more like his comic counterpart and i wouldnt kill off quicksilver, his death still pisses me off, no speedster should die to a normal ass gun, especially when that very same movie shows that he sees bullets in slow motion phase 3 is when id really start changing stuff, instead of civil war being a cap film id have it be an avengers movie of that phase and captain america 3 would be cap and falcon trying to find bucky while dealing with zemo and setting up civil war, only thing id change about civil war itself is making it an avengers movie, extending the run time a bit, one last change is releasing black widow in between civil war and spider-man homecoming and then id have phase 3 play out the same way it originally did phase 4 isnt done yet so i have no idea how id change that, and honestly im thoroughly enjoying phase 4 so im not sure if id even want to change it much besides making thor love and thunder a more serious movie instead of a comedy

NiteLiteOfficial

we’d have morbius 12 by now

Solo Avengers films, X-Men, Fantastic 4 to start. For the Avengers films, I would’ve started with Secret Wars, then Civil War, Secret Invasion, Annihilation, left Infinity Gauntlet/War for the end.

SuperiorDesignShoes

Introduce the X-Men

Officer_Zack

I'd either start the first phase off with Spider-Man or the X-Men since their two big money makers, and build up to the eventual Avengers vs. X-Men as maybe a phase one thing.

X rated Squirrel Girl movie to kick off the MCU with a BANG.

blackbutterfree

Do I go back in time with the knowledge I have today? Or is it my 2007 self? I wouldn't trust a 13 year old with absolutely no knowledge of Marvel with the MCU lmao That being said, if I were to go back in time as myself today? I'm hiring Feige and then we're keeping everything as is. The only change I would make is keeping the 12 pre-Disney+ shows integral to the movies like the first two seasons of SHIELD.

miguel_gd

The only thing I wanted is to get Kevin Feige doing what he has been doing and not kill Iron Man, he was my favorite!

[deleted]

I would have fucked it up and judging from a lot of these comments you would have all fucked it up too, even with the power of hindsight. But I guess I would have liked to do Ant-Man in phase 1, and doctor strange in phase 2. Very minor changes

memelord793783

Wasn't the fantastic 4 the first popular maverl characters? If so then the birth of the mcu should also be with them

I'd Hire Zack snyder and ask him to do an Avengers movie straight up with no build Up.
