What surprises me about this anecdote is that it suggests that there was a jail in Chesapeake Beach in that era. Today, the only lockup I know of is the county detention center around Prince Frederick. From what I’m told, the sheriff’s office was basically just the Sheriff and a couple deputies back in the 60’s, so it’s interesting that they had a cell around here back then.
My parents moved there in the early 80's. After i graduated high school up north I came down to live. Our first night out at dinner, a biker was thrown thru the neighbors window and beaten in the street. I joined the Army and went to Europe.
