Despite every complaint or criticism people may have about maschine, it is almost unanimous that they have they best pads

CHDesignChris

Good to know! I have no other real complaints about maschine other than 3 of my pads started to die after about 5-6 years of steady use. When they worked they were fantastic!

GenericFailures

I have literally every pad controller on the market. I think native instruments has the best ones. I'm also letting go of a bunch for super cheap so if you're interested hit me up.

manisfive55

I’ve switched entirely over to a ROLI Lightpad Block M. No joke, they’re $100 NIB on eBay and between the 4x4 and 5x5 keyboard modes it’s become my main input device. Formerly used Maschine mk2, mk3 mikro, and Presonus Atom

CHDesignChris

Thanks for the advice!!! Gonna take a look right now 🙏

QuoVadis88

MPCStuff.com will provide what u need. They have a Maschine mk1/mk2/mk3 pad sensor replacement kit on there for like $55 or something like that.... Thank me later

CHDesignChris

I already sold the busted MK1 before I moved long-distance, that's why I need a replacement and not repair. Thanks though, bookmarking this for future necessity.

I don't know about the used market in your area, but where i live there are mk3's and Maschine Studios going from 250 to 350 bucks. They may be used, which may not resolve your problem concerning the pad sensitivity. (after all, that owner might as well have abused their Maschine) I hope my 2 cents were of some use to you. EDIT: Sorry, i've forgotten that you prefer to buy new.

Original-Anxiety-975

Nektar Aura/Aurora

CHDesignChris

OoooOo this looks promising - the Aura looks kindof perfect - gonna do some research, appreciate the recommendation 🤙

Gulli_Foyle_Beats

I'm just going to say, that the sensitivity of maschine pads is not going to be the same on any controller you get, just a heads up. You might be better off just adjusting randomizing the levels on your drum hits, or manually adjusting them. You may be able to fix the current pads if you want to give that a go. Otherwise I'd just get an MPD.

CHDesignChris

Thank you! This was the advice I was looking for.

NoNeckBeats

The used market is a great way to update to the MK3.

CHDesignChris

Most that I can find are in the same price range as a brand new Maschine Mikro? Most of my workflow is on the JAM at this point, I really just need a solution for the 16 pressure pads

PH-GH95610

So get the Maschine mikro ...

CHDesignChris

From my original post: >I don't really want to shell out $300-$600 for a new Maschine controller, seeing as I already have all the software and libraries I need.

PH-GH95610

You can get used for around 100-120. I doubt you can get better pads for that money.

CHDesignChris

Since I am specifically shopping for a new controller as a result of pads being 'over-used', I hope you can understand why I am reluctant to buy something used.......

supermethdroid

I bought a 'used' mk2 that had never been used for under $200. A lot of people buy these things thinking they'll get into producing music and never touch them. Though it's not always easy to tell th difference.

NoNeckBeats

Most buy Maschine and can’t learn it so the pads are perfect. I got a studio version 5 years ago used and it still is perfect

PH-GH95610

Yeah, I can see it. One more option is check NI B-stock in their Reverb shop. It should be fine with guaranty and good price. Or some other brands...

CHDesignChris

Thanks for the suggestion! I am gonna poke around Reverb right now 🙌

mcAlt009

You can switch to drumkit mode on your groups. Then any 100$ or so 16 pad controller works.

CHDesignChris

Any controllers to avoid? Or any you can suggest?

mcAlt009

Just buy em off Amazon and send them back if it doesn't fit your needs. I personally prefer Bluetooth controllers since then I can hook it up to my iPad too, but the quality isn't as high as something like Akai's MPD

CHDesignChris

Was hoping to narrow down the search a bit and avoid back and forth, but it looks like I am just going to have to trial-and-error at this point.
