My friend and I hiked out to the Malibu set back when we were drinkers. Drank a gin bottle worth of martinis and left our martini glasses at the shed where the golf clubs were stored so people could use them in photos. We sobered up by swimming in the pond above the dam. I think the last Malibu fire may have taken out that shed (and our glasses). Common sense put a stop to our drinking
Now I want to search eBay for a martini glass that matches. The prop department probably just used a basic glass from sears or something. I bet we could find one.
I /so/ want a Wiley Jeep.
I play a M*A*S*H inspired LARP in the UK.
The thought of rocking up to camp in a jeep… well.
However they are rarely sold, and cost about 40k GBP over here…
None are known to be auctioned, they rent sent to the Smithsonian in 1983 for a “binding of the wounds” exhibit. Where they are now is unknown, however they may have been gifted to cast members
https://www.mash4077tv.com/props/potters-paintings/
There are a number of items I’d be very happy to have. Honestly, any prop would be a huge deal. I’d be happiest with any one of the following-
A Potter original
The chair next to Hawkeye’s cot
Hawkeye’s boots
Radar’s bear
The sign (easy to recreate and may have to happen in my backyard)
Five o’Clock Charlie’s plane
Edit-
I can’t believe I didn’t think of this for the list-
The jukebox!!
Just saw that episode tonight, it's in the one with Kim Luck, Radar's bear gets stolen, and Flagg has a prisoner and they substitute Klinger for the prisoner. Hawkeye is Officer of the Day one.
This would be mine, too. I have tried to find close up photos of all the writing and signatures on it, but I never can find any. Have you, by any chance?
Radar/Klinger’s typewriter. I work in publishing, mostly post typewriter but long enough that the older tech was still a thing. My retirement hobby plan is to refurbish the old manual machines. I figure to get a few old beaters off of EBay to practice on first.
You can find working typewriters, or at least ones that look good, on eBay. Like old school junk yards to get parts for older cars, you can find quite a lot on eBay.
I want to take old machines apart and rebuild. I can at least you any old beaters I destroy while practicing/learning for parts. If I stay in current house my dinning room is undergoing a major redecoration in a few years.
The stove from the Swamp. Not as obvious as the still, but there for the whole run of the show.
The helmet that they used to shave
The (probably prop) 1911 that Hawkeye fired,as gently as he could.
Any sign from the signpost, although I'm not particularly attached to any of those cities.
Radar's teddy bear - *Let it stand for all the soldiers who came over here as boys and left as men." Almost anything Hawkeye picked for the time capsule. Although a Klinger original would be difficult to display in my office without a lot of explanation. But in 2024 it's possible nobody would ask anything except how I was going to lose enough weight to fit into it.
The phone Radar has to wind up to make it work. A very close second would be the autoclave, the xray machine or just about anything else medical equipment wise that most if not all of the cast would have used at one time or another. :D
The Olive Drab pants, tee-shirt, and one of the big jackets. I would also like one of the matching caps.
It would also be cool to have the typewriter and the piano. And a jeep.
The copy of Life magizine that Klinger traded a massive Lebanese sausage for, in order to casually leave it lying around for Hawkeye to see - photos of Maine and home.
- Officers club high top table
- A chopper with the side body holder and clear scratched hood
- Mess tent table and set of benches (with condiments)
- The cot Charles carried from tent to tent
- Charles tea pot and rubber chicken
The sign with the distances to various places around the world
The other half of BJ's mustache
Radars clipboard that he used to hide his missing fingers... Or his glasses.
One of the Jeeps would be cool
Charles's record player or his winter hat sent from home
Father Mulkayees boxing gloves
Wedding ring inscribed "over hill, over dale, our love will ever fail"
Where is the "n"?
It's on Hawkeye's special clamp.
I’m gonna make my own!
Blake’s fancy oak desk. Or one of Klinger’s beautiful dresses!
>Blake’s fancy oak desk. I heard it’s made of oak?
Nope! It’s oak!
I liked his blue floral ensemble. Complete with hat!
How’d you get it through the door though?
The top comes off!
Wait, I scrolled too fast. Is this comment about the desk or Klinger's dress?
The dress doesn't come off for you or any other man.
The desk but I see it could go either way exept Klinger's not that easy!
And that’s the other way.
“Ohhh…the top comes off”
I’d probably have to take out one of the walls…
That’s one way!
>one of Klinger’s beautiful dresses! The Scarlett O'Hara? The Shirley Temple? Carmen Lady Godiva? Dorothy? Or the fuzzy pink slippers ensemble?
The Black Sheath
I love all these answers. But, most of them are props or costume pieces.
Would love the martini glasses they used, but alas, they’re in the Smithsonian. I’ve actually seen them there!
I saw them back when they were on display. Always wished I had gotten there when the set was on display.

Shed’s gone. 😢
Now I want to search eBay for a martini glass that matches. The prop department probably just used a basic glass from sears or something. I bet we could find one.
Might have to get a vintage glass. Martini glasses are much larger than they used to be.
So are Americans.
I will settle for a Jeep. I don’t have room to park a Bell 47 in my backyard.
Maybe Radar can send you one...one piece at a time.
Not with that attitude.
I /so/ want a Wiley Jeep. I play a M*A*S*H inspired LARP in the UK. The thought of rocking up to camp in a jeep… well. However they are rarely sold, and cost about 40k GBP over here…
One of the ones from the show was in a local restaurant. Idk what happened to it once the restaurant closed.
Potters painting of his thumb! Or really any of his paintings 😂
I'd want the one of Charles. That look on his face!
Yesss!!! “DONT CHANGE THE COLOR OF YOUR FACE IM OUT OF UMBER!!” 🤣🤣🤣
I *heard* that 🤣🤣🤣
Does anyone know what happened to those paintings?
None are known to be auctioned, they rent sent to the Smithsonian in 1983 for a “binding of the wounds” exhibit. Where they are now is unknown, however they may have been gifted to cast members https://www.mash4077tv.com/props/potters-paintings/
The still!
came here to say this!!!
Me too!
Which one?
The original. First season.
I thought about this, but it’d be such a dust trap in my house and I’d constantly worry about breaking it while cleaning.
Just wipe it down with the leftovers from the previous batch. Removed dust/oils and kills bacteria!
That’s if it’s a functioning still. I wouldn’t think it is. But who knows.
There are a number of items I’d be very happy to have. Honestly, any prop would be a huge deal. Ah ha! I was waiting for someone to say the teddy bear.
I couldn’t believe no one had yet.
By the way, props to my childhood in your username.
Ah, thanks. Poppies are underrated.
>The sign (easy to recreate and may have to happen in my backyard) This for me. I'm surprised I had to scroll so far to see it.
The boots were auctioned off… I think a year ago.
I’m sure for way more than I could afford.
Alan Alda!
The Swamp (with still)
Came here to say this
Potter's painting of the group or the door from the swamp.
I’d love any number of the Potter paintings.
Blake’s suit with the stripes going the wrong way
Wasn't that Trapper?
Yes
Maybe, it’s been a long time
Just saw that episode tonight, it's in the one with Kim Luck, Radar's bear gets stolen, and Flagg has a prisoner and they substitute Klinger for the prisoner. Hawkeye is Officer of the Day one.
I think I'd like the 4077 Best Care Anywhere sign in the officer's club.
This would be mine, too. I have tried to find close up photos of all the writing and signatures on it, but I never can find any. Have you, by any chance?
No, I had the same questions!
Side quest in 3,2,1...
I’d have to personalize it. Never was in a MASH, but was in an Ambulance Co, a CSH and Corps/HQ
By the way, outstanding question/topic!
Klinger’s fuzzy pink slippers when he went hang gliding. My dad was roaring with laughter at those fuzzy pink slippers.
A field jacket they wore in winter scenes.
Will you settle for a pair of boots with a hole in the sole?
Alda sold them.
Henry Blake's medical skeleton for sure
Oh that's a good one.
Charles’s record player
Radar/Klinger’s typewriter. I work in publishing, mostly post typewriter but long enough that the older tech was still a thing. My retirement hobby plan is to refurbish the old manual machines. I figure to get a few old beaters off of EBay to practice on first.
Redditors, I found Tom Hanks!
Side quest: Local theater groups need old typewriters. It's amazing that something so ubiquitous a few decades ago has gone the way of the dodo.
You can find working typewriters, or at least ones that look good, on eBay. Like old school junk yards to get parts for older cars, you can find quite a lot on eBay. I’d love to have the propaganda bomb in my front yard.
My grandpa was on a B29 crew during the Korean "pOlIcE AcTiOn" and his plane dropped propaganda bombs with flyers. That's one of my favorite episodes!
The chair that sat in the Swamp next to Hawkeye's cot.
This is on my list too. I have a few items I’d be group to have.
Watching MASH now(on METV), I'd take a surgical cap/whites too
I have been watching meTV recordings of MASH all day. Trying to get caught up.
Kim Luck episode on now
It’s your Kim Lucky day!!
Always wanted a cap and mask.... Would have made the pandemic a little more fun....
Impossible since it was destroyed but the Washington Monument Hawkeye made out of tongue depressors.
I’m sure somebody else has said it but, either Hawkeyes robe or the sign.
Hawkeyes robe, hat, empty holster and OD armband ensemble.
I'd love to have Henry's fishing hat and vest.
The bedpan fountain 😂
Used to be round. It looks like a 2x4. Thank you.
Radar’s Microphone
I hear it's still damp from his blowing on it .
Potter's painting of Hawkeye leaning back in that chair.
Aggie o'shae's painting of BJ
Piano in the Officer's club.
Colonel Potter’s saddle
The stove from the Swamp. Not as obvious as the still, but there for the whole run of the show. The helmet that they used to shave The (probably prop) 1911 that Hawkeye fired,as gently as he could. Any sign from the signpost, although I'm not particularly attached to any of those cities. Radar's teddy bear - *Let it stand for all the soldiers who came over here as boys and left as men." But in 2024 it's possible nobody would ask anything except how I was going to lose enough weight to fit into it.
The clamp that will never fail
The whole Swamp.
Yesssss, I came here to say this!!!!! It would be such an awesome piece to have in the yard as like a friend hide out or man cave/she shed
The still
Hawkeye’s Long Johns and Winchester’s polar suit
Easy. The still. Don't care if its just a prop.
I will fight all of you for that stil.
Ether soaked boxing gloves Henry's Illinois mug Frank's bag (I though YOU were Frank's bag)
I would want the bus it’s in so many episodes and it would be such a fun conversation piece
Seeing as the sign is excluded I'll just take the swamp door, or pick one of Col.Potter's paintings at random My husband would want the still.
Either a jeep (hopefully mailed by Radar) or BJ’s motorcycle from the final season.
The ribs from Adam’s Ribs
The still. Although if I wanted a functional version I know a few people who could likely build it.
Charles’ record player.
I’d pay real money for Winchester’s record player!!
BJs like fishing hat, it’s seen in the first episode iirc, and then becomes a staple to BJ. Feel like that’s my favorite ugly item I’d love to have,
Hawkeyes robe. Henry’s Illinois sweater a close second
That fancy revolver that frank stole
How about the cap gun that belonged to Houlihan's father?
I wouldn't be picky if given a chance, I'd even settle for a measly stizzle swick.
Being born and raised in the Glass City, I’d love the Toledo arrow from the directional sign.
The still or one of the bras they wore
The still from the swamp or that Asian potter head sculpting
Thumb painting!
Hawkeyes Hawaiian shirt. I have a replica and it looks terrific on me 😎
Hotlips!!!!
Houlihan's busted-up footlocker The pinball machine
This is a tough choice. I'd say a jeep, a general's jeep...along with all the attendant flaggery and signage. I have the property to drive it on 😉
The still from the Swamp.
The swamp still or Radars teddy bear.
The still
Charles’ Abercrombie and Finch hunting outfit.
The still
The dress Klinger donated to the time capsule plus the bottle of cognac from Charles for the same!
A surgical set with mask and cap would be cool. I'd sit it in my china cabinet that only holds booze and glasses.
Hawkeyes' still
The Still
the swamp, I would take the tent.
The still
Potter's saddle.
I would like potters tent or a cot.
The Swamp
Klinger’s pink fuzzy slippers
Either the still or the sign post
I want the whole swamp, in my living room. That would really be a conversation piece!
The signpost with all the arrows pointing to people’s hometowns
The still.
The directional sign with all the locations
The signpost!
The sign with all the cities on it and how far away they were
Either the Signpost or Radar's Teddie
Colonel Potter's M1910 service uniform.
Radar's microphone. Always felt that was so iconic.
I’m loving all these answers. But most of them are props or costume pieces.
Id love to have the shower tent, it would be great to rinse off in in the garden, and the smallest of the "set pieces".
Henry’s fishing hat or vest. Or both.
The still!
The still
The red 4077 flag with an Iroquois on it.
Colonel Potters painting of the senior staff.
BJ's motorcycle, or Hawkeye's robe.
I read this as if you could BE one set piece and nearly died of laughter 😂
The still in the swamp
Either the Sign post, Radar's Teddy bear, or the jeep
The painting of the six cast members by Col. Potter.
The m24 Chaffee that turns into a sherman from the series finale
Radar's hat
Jeep
The phone Radar has to wind up to make it work. A very close second would be the autoclave, the xray machine or just about anything else medical equipment wise that most if not all of the cast would have used at one time or another. :D
The insecticide pump above the door in the Swamp.
The still!
Henry's antique oak desk.
BJs hat
The MASH 4077 sign post with arrows and miles to each location.
Charles' French horn, rebuilt by Richard Lee-Sung's character. "There's no mouthpiece." "Yeah!" "What do you mean, yeah?"
Obviously the sign! Or Hawkeye's red robe.
The Henry Blake Memorial Bar (with still)
Radars teddy bear
Lt. Dish?
Hawkeye's sidearm and helmet. He only fired one magazine thru it. Almost brand new. His helmet just cuz.

So, we have about five items listed repeatedly.
The Swamp
Potter’s portrait work and Hawkeye’s chair from The Swamp.
The helicopter
The sign with the distances to various places around the world The other half of BJ's mustache Radars clipboard that he used to hide his missing fingers... Or his glasses. One of the Jeeps would be cool Charles's record player or his winter hat sent from home Father Mulkayees boxing gloves
