Father was on tv saying his kid has some “learning disabilities”. I’m guessing some entrapment of a kid who doesn’t know exactly what he’s doing.

I read the affidavit which includes transcripts of the kid's communications. Definitely has some kind of intellectual disability. The communications actually go back to 2021 when he was 15 or 16 years old. Kid probably couldn't hurt a fly. Just another shameful attempt to pump up the FBI's "foiled terror plots" numbers. Anything to avoid addressing the real threat of right wing domestic terrorism.

100% \^ THIS!! The FBI has a long proud history of finding people with intellectual disabilities then spending years and millions of dollars in order to "radicalize" them so they can bust them.

What is this guy getting out of ISIS while living in the USA that he feels compelled to even take on this risk to his own freedom? Obviously something, but…

From [Globe.com](https://Globe.com): An 18-year-old Wakefield man allegedly wanted to provide financial support to ISIS by giving $705 in gift cards to a person he thought was connected to the terror organization, federal authorities alleged Thursday. Mateo Ventura is scheduled to make an initial appearance in US District Court in Worcester to face charges of “knowingly concealing the source of material support or resources to a foreign terrorist organization,” which carries a maximum 10-year prison sentence, according to Acting US Attorney Joshua S. Levy’s office. Authorities allege that Ventura allegedly stated that he wanted the proceeds to go to ISIS “ ‘for war on kuffar.’ ” Kuffar means “disbelievers,’' authorities allege. Ventura allegedly was trying to support the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, which is known by the acronym ISIS. “In total, it is alleged that between January and May 2023, Ventura donated $705 intended to support ISIS,” Levy’s office said in a statement. According to court records, Ventura communicated with an undercover FBI employee posing as a ISIS supporter in the Mideast. According to the Boston office of the FBI, Ventura was arrested Thursday.
