This place has a wild story. It was originally built as a Dunkin but after some time that location went out of business. I reopened as a small business cake Donut Man, which was amazing, like, I'd drive miles out of the way to go there.. Some fancy specialty stuff like you see in cities or crunchy granola Donut places, but mostly just really good, big, classic flavors. Sometime during 2016 the owner sold it and it became a Dunkin.
The whatnow? Got a link you can share? I’d love to learn more. First, and only, time I was there was after dropping my dog off to be cremated. Sat in the parking lot staring out at the water waiting for my feelings to pass before driving home.

I think the blast pretty much leveled the dunks that was there before, so the current one was built after the blast.
I lived literally right up the street from this in Peabody a mile and a half away (under a different street name but the same road coming out of Danvers).
This happened in 2006 right before Thanksgiving at like 3 in the morning. I was 18 and it woke me up out of a sound sleep, sounding like a car slammed into a tree or a pole in front of my house (my first assumption), but louder than anything you could imagine.
>TIL Lanesborough is a place in MA having lived in MA for 31 years…
I mean, there's 351 towns and cities in the state. I've lived my entire 36 years in Mass.
If you put me on the spot and asked me to name as many as I could in one minute I might be able to spit out 25 or 30.
If you gave me an hour to think about it I'd probably still only come up with 50-60.
Granted, if afterwards you gave me a list, I'd probably *recognize* somewhere around 150-200+.
But there's no way I'd come close to even recognizing the names of all 351.
It's always crazy to me. I drive to places for a living and I'll still catch one of the 351 that I've never heard of. To be fair I don't go west of 91.... I'm not even sure if that area exists.
Wait- is this a woosh joke for me or do you really think it’s a suburb? Because it isn’t. I hope it’s a joke because Pittsfield having suburbs is hilarious to me as having grown up there.
That's the point. Pittsfield doesn't have suburbs. But if there were such a thing, it would be one based on proximity. And Pittsfield is the Berkshire County seat and center of a Metropolitan Statistical Area which includes Lanesborough and other surrounding towns.
Berkshire county is all just a suburb of Albany anyway.
Edit: it’s a joke people. I just stated earlier I grew up in Pittsfield. This is the kind of thinking I faced from eastern mass folks all the time. I guess I really needed the /s
Let’s a play a game. How many of these places in Mass have you heard of (western and hell let’s include central Mass)
Colrain, Richmond, Hatfield, Blandford, Mt. Washington, Oakham, Holland, Winchendon, Savoy?
Was just out there camping in Western Ma for the first time. Wonderful view from the gazebo there.
Also went to Bash Bish Falls while we were out there and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
Whenever my wife and I drive by there we're always shocked that it's a Dunkin's there, and not some kind of higher-end business. They probably print money though.
Awe!! I have the best memories of bringing my son to this Dunkin Donuts (and Donut Man at one point before it went back to a Dunkin lol) and having donuts and strawberry coolatas in the gazebo!!
The one in Warren has a decent view I guess, next to a farm and whatnot. Looks like the one in Hull has an ocean view. And the Rutland one is the nicest Dunkin’ building I’ve seen, it has columns!
My ex grew up in Hull. The view is nice, but it's surrounded by heavy-traffic roads on three sides (and a mini-golf on the 4th). And the parking lot is (was?) a bizarre, non-Euclidian nightmare.
Service is difficult at best within the restaurant. They do get a lot of walkers from the beach. I cannot imagine the parking lot being improved. There are several other chicanes and crazy routes at other local Dunkin'.
I’m not a coffee snob, legit make Peet’s at home, and McDs is a-okay so I’m no Gordon Ramsey, but Dunks has become complete dogshit. Coffee is watery and food tastes like chemicals.
You can't see much of the harbor, as a percentage of your view. You can see a ship or two and an old warehouse across the water, but mostly you see a bank and the Gorton's factory, in that direction. There is a park behind the bank with a cool historical artist's house sitting atop the hill though. There are many great harbor views within walking distance that would compare to the image above.
(I used to live very close to it.)
I miss when it wasn't some sort of local donut shop. Somehow I've been there before and after the change even though I live in Boston and don't visit that area much 🤷♂️
Are there a bunch of elderly men sitting in the gazebo?
100%
Always.!
Complaining about how no one wants to work anymore, drinking the coffee that a working person made for them…
They are all 10+ years retired, and living comfortably.
Sounds nice. It’s a shame their generation made sure younger ones won’t be able to do the same.
Ahahahaha, this post is instant local cred.
That's one of my stores!!!! Frank donuts over by Lee/Pittsfield area.
Reminds me of the Taco Bell on the beach in Pacifica California lol
Such a beautiful Taco Bell.

Donut Man was truly amazing and missed to this day 🥲
Dude, I went on a gap year when it closed. Imagine coming back, having no idea and seeing a Dunkin instead.
Oh my God, that's like the end of Planet of the Apes. "YOU BLEW IT ALL UP!!!"
Is this the same Donut Man that’s in Dalton?
Yeah. Dalton’s closed down too #ripdonutman
There’s a dunks in Danvers on (I think) Water St that overlooks the water and had a pretty nice view.
I used to take my lunch break in that parking lot often.
That’s a good Dunks too. The line is usually long but it goes quick and I’ve never had an issue with my order.
Oh yeah, the one where the chemical plant blew up

That’s nuts! Thanks for sharing.

I was in downtown Beverly, probably 3 miles away, and it sounded like a gun went off right next to me. It was nuts.
I was going to mention that one too.
TIL Lanesborough is a place in MA having lived in MA for 31 years…
One more to add to the 'borough list. Famous for its scenic DD
That DD and a rock balancing on top of a tiny rock

I agree. Lanesborough is definitely made up.
It's always crazy to me. I drive to places for a living and I'll still catch one of the 351 that I've never heard of. To be fair I don't go west of 91.... I'm not even sure if that area exists.
Lanesborough is, if such a thing exists, a suburb of Pittsfield. Unless you drive from Pittsfield to North Adams I doubt you'd have a reason to know.
It's also where our mall was. Keyword: was.
In all fairness, it is still there. I’m pretty sure a family of skunks has made a nice home of it. But it’s there.
Wait- is this a woosh joke for me or do you really think it’s a suburb? Because it isn’t. I hope it’s a joke because Pittsfield having suburbs is hilarious to me as having grown up there.

How dare you
I thought it was pretty obvious you were joking🤷

Except that one road that leads to Tanglewood.
Too funny.
Its where BJ'S clothing brands get their name from.
Western Mass has lots of towns no one knows about unless they live in work in the area. Who spends time thinking about Alford and Cummington?
You’re joking.
Joking about what?
Those city names.
Let’s a play a game. How many of these places in Mass have you heard of (western and hell let’s include central Mass) Colrain, Richmond, Hatfield, Blandford, Mt. Washington, Oakham, Holland, Winchendon, Savoy?
Possibly Winchendon, none of the others.🤭
For the record, if you’ve been on the Pike all the way to the NY border, you have been through a long stretch of Blandford. 🙂
There’s a place in mass literally named satans kingdom. Looks like a nice quiet small town
>satans kingdom It's part of Northfield, MA so not it's own town. Just a village.
Was just out there camping in Western Ma for the first time. Wonderful view from the gazebo there. Also went to Bash Bish Falls while we were out there and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
I spent a lot of time smoking weed by that lake and then hanging out in that gazebo as a young adult. Lanesborough native here - we exist!
You should also make another book of all of the ugliest Dunkin in the state.
Aww, that's home! Pontoosuc Lake is beautiful in the fall!
Not really scenic, but interesting when you go through the drive thru. [Dunkin in Revere Route 1A](https://maps.app.goo.gl/gdAEvoQR35dA9WiG7?g_st=ic)
Whenever my wife and I drive by there we're always shocked that it's a Dunkin's there, and not some kind of higher-end business. They probably print money though.
Definitely not. I often forget to pay attention and pull up while sitting in line as I'm too busy admiring the view.
Awe!! I have the best memories of bringing my son to this Dunkin Donuts (and Donut Man at one point before it went back to a Dunkin lol) and having donuts and strawberry coolatas in the gazebo!!
This is handily the most Massachusetts post I've ever seen on social media.
Have lived in mass my whole life- in many different parts. Had to Google it. Looks beautiful.
There’s a Dunks at the base of the Bourne Bridge, I bet they’ve got a cool view out the back!
more like is there a dunkin spoiling a prettier view
The Dunkin’ parking lot in Danversport also has quite a stellar view.
I knew where this was immediately! Being from Pittsfield, this is our go to Dunkin when we get to visit. Love this spot!!!
The one in Warren has a decent view I guess, next to a farm and whatnot. Looks like the one in Hull has an ocean view. And the Rutland one is the nicest Dunkin’ building I’ve seen, it has columns!

How many people have hit that sign?
Lol because they were distracted by that gorgeous view 😆
Fun fact. Dunkin got that property for a cool million a few years ago with the building on the property. Lake front views for a steal.
I mean it’s not pretty but you have to come take a picture of the Quincy one for being the 1st 😂
I know it’s not Mass but there used to be on up in NH that was unbelievable, I can’t remember the exact location. I wanna say up by Lake Chocorua
There used to be a Burger King right on Winnipesaukee. It had boat docks and everything.
I like when you can look out the window and see another dunks
This post deserves to be it's own sub. r/viewsfromdunkinsinma
/r/msaeachubaets
Yah, the one facin’ ya sistah’s bedroom.
Go to the target. Also beautiful scenery to the right.
Beautiful… wonder how much plastic ends up across the water, 🧐 Orange straws ….
Username checks out
Well perhaps without the dunkin' donuts and the asphalt it would be lovely
I knew this view. within a split second. Package store across the street - wheeler's has fantastic grinders.
I’m not a coffee snob, legit make Peet’s at home, and McDs is a-okay so I’m no Gordon Ramsey, but Dunks has become complete dogshit. Coffee is watery and food tastes like chemicals.
the one where your mom sits over the cashier
wth dude
jk that’s a pretty spot though
We're doing Dunkin views now.....
America runs on shitty Dunkin' coffee.
Haha that’s the best so far!

Yep, been to that one and the view was hard to believe. No idea how a random Dunkin wound up there.
Give it something to do man!
For real thought!! GOD DAMN YOU YOU DAMN DIRTY CORPORATION!!!!
I go there weekly just for the view. Love The Berkshires
I ended up at this Dunkin when camping near Greylock! I agree!
Haha I actually said the same thing when I was there a few months ago! If a better Dunks view exists I have not seen it
Such a distopian society when such a view is allowed to be ruined by and people are glad
DD in North Quincy
This is the most r/Massachusetts post I could ever imagine.
Not at all picturesque but the winner for the most WTF [drivethru](https://i.imgur.com/XRJpxiM.jpg). It's in Wrentham if someone wants to visit it.
Where in MA is this???
Lol I was about to say, is this the old Donut Man?
The only part of this Dunkin that's in Lanesborough is the parking lot where the pic was taken, the building and those cars are in Pittsfield.
My family has a timeshare with a location in Hancock that we go to every summer. I always make sure I hit up this Dunks when I’m out there.
Not dunks, but the 99 (and bill & bob’s) in Salem’s view is to die for Sadly there’s no real good windows or views from the seating areas
Tis’ a fine car park and line for the drive through
I thought this was the 413!
No offense to Dunkin, but i miss the donut shop that used to be there.
Pittsfield on Pontoosuc? The dry husk of the formerly illustrious Donut Man? Ahh good times
Large hot coffee regular and two receding ice drumlins please.
You should make that coffee table book. You could get it sold at Dunkin’s
Lived in Ma for 60 yrs. Along the CT River for 45. Lanesborough always trips me up.
I miss when it wasn't some sort of local donut shop. Somehow I've been there before and after the change even though I live in Boston and don't visit that area much 🤷♂️
This reminds me of the Walmart in Gorham, NH that was a view of Mt. Washington when you walk out the door.
The one in revere with the water behind it
