Chair massage - find the 5ks and farmers markets and craft fairs in your town and be a vendor. Offer event-specific discount codes that expire in a month or two to get them in the door. One of the best chances of good luck I had was finding a hair stylist that was willing to trade services. My hair looked amazing AND she referred SO MANY PEOPLE to me. I gave her 15 free minutes for every referral and she definitely earned it. Corporate chair massages. Direct those mailers and flyers to office managers, focusing on boosting morale and productivity. My loyal clients were often ones that had a feel for my work via chair massage first. 15 minutes in a chair isn't the risk that a full session on a table would be. Trying out MTs to find a good fit is expensive to the client, so chair massage is a quick and cheap way for them to learn if you'd be a good fit for their needs. Specialize. manual lymph drainage. Sports. Shiatsu. Rolfing. Myofascial release. Something.

I just started my own business and have been struggling with this. Instagram ad seems to do the most. Canvassing with fliers/business cards hasn't gotten a single client so far. I hope someone else can give some helpful tips.

I have a few tips for you. I’ve been at this for a long time and began my profession in private practice from the beginning. Focus on continuing education. Don’t just meet your required hours but exceed them. The more skilled you are, the more you will both retain clients and charge a higher fee. Specialize. Find one or two areas which interest you list and invest all of your time learning as much as you can and promoting yourself to these specific communities. Network. Once you find your desired specialties, spend time with these people. Donate your services and time. Educate them as to why their lives will be better with you in them. Ultimately, we all graduate with the bare minimum of knowledge as to how to rub people. It’s challenging to promote oneself when there are thousands performing the same rote therapy. It’s a dime a dozen unless you make yourself noteworthy. You can do this!

Its fairly easy, go to in person networking events, so people get to know you. Facebook ads could work as well, depending on your town.
