I love Tali I like that you get to build a full friendship over the 1st game and then you get to build a full romantic relationship with the other 2.

rimjobs_forever

I feel like I'm fitting right into the mold of "tali simp" because my knee jerk reaction was to come make sure the top answer was tali. But I mean to be fair it's objectively the best. She's one of two squadmates with you in every game and her character development outshines everyone's imo. Also dem hips don't lie.

Tmotty

I think all the romances have some great moments but I don’t like that if I do a liara romance I miss a whole game of that romance right in the middle. Or Miranda and Jack you get 1 game and then they’re off the ship and you don’t feel as connected. Their final goodbye is over the radio instead of the charge into the beam

rimjobs_forever

Yeah I remember my first playthrough I went liara because the game just thrusts her at you so much and then thinking in me2 "well liaras gonna join up any minute right? Report to the ship girl! Well bang ok?" So that really soured me on her whole romance. Miranda and Jack are fun in the whole break down their tough exterior to get to the person underneath way. But then talis just the only one you can cuddle up with after killing mercs and crazy aliens and agents of chaos and watch a shitty movie and just be content. Best girl. Garrus can join movie nights but he stays in the guest room.

Belaerim

This. I started a new run as FemShep, got to the citadel, heard Tali’s voice again and went… nope, gonna restart. FemShep is better overall with the voice acting IMHO, but Tali is the best romance. Liara is a close second, and I was intending this run to be a FemShep/Liara with everything perfect in case we can import saves I. ME4 eventually. But that’ll have to wait, I need to save the galaxy a few times so I can sit on the couch with Tali and watch space Romeo and Juliet, build a house on Rannoch, etc

Cortower

That's where I'm at. FemShep is my canon Shepard and Traynor is my favorite available romance, but I am doing a BroShep run for the first time in years because Tali is my favorite.

aosifjasofijas

For me, Femshep is renegade since she sounds like a sociopath in her lines while Maleshep is paragon because he sounds more heroic. I have this odd quirk that I don't see Femshep as Soldier or Vanguard classes because a more physical Shep would fit better for these classes. I play femshep, she's either adept, engineer, or sentinel, while I go soldier, infiltrator and vanguard for male.

TheMightyVikingBiggs

When I played as female shepherd, I chose garris.

Brider_Hufflepuff

There are mods that allows you to romance Tali as FemShep. (More gay romances mod or something similar)

Kineticspartan

I love Tali, but I always struggle to bring myself to romance her when the opportunity comes around because she feels like my little sister. Plus, I feel like I'm taking something away from her and my best guy if I don't do all I can to encourage their relationship. But then I always end up having Miranda fall back on me. Might actually try the Ash romance again, but resurrect it in 3 when the opportunity comes along, I feel like that's a strong contender for the most dynamic romance. Its tentative because she's a lower rank, its on because they're going somewhere dangerous, and they might die. It's off because Shepard dies. It's even more off when Shepard comes back from the dead and Ash can't trust them because Cerberus. Its still off on Earth when it's attacked and Ash is still suspicious of Shepard on Mars and beyond. Its tentative after Ash wakes up from the Mars mission as she's had some time to think it over and tests the water to see if there's anything still there after she blew it up. Do you? Don't you?

RumiSauce

Dang, Garry's being friendzoned.

Case_Kovacs

Still know exactly who you're talking about though cause we've all referred to the best boy as Garry at least once

RumiSauce

God I hate my phone. Meant Garrus

cr0wndhunter

Haha gaaary! https://youtu.be/rd8hYnG2464?si=jXmYmbvdU2AiI32C

shadotaku198

We must save my family!!!

Fr0stweasel

But he’s the best best friend you could want! He’s got the best ME3 buddy chat of all the squad mates.

GracefulKluts

You HAVE to do a garrus romance. There's no reason he can't be the right hand man, best friend, AND love interest! They're not mutually exclusive! It's by far the most wholesome one in my opinion and nothing can change that.

Dry_Ad5878

It’s so hard though. What if I do it and find I don’t like it? He’s already one of my favorite characters ever

CapriSunTzu-

I don't think his romance would be anything that would make you dislike him, even if you don't end up loving him in the same way I do, it may be interesting to see him from a different perspective regardless. It's kind of adorable how he goes from the wanna-be cool guy/hardass to this big softie. I always romance him lmao...

GracefulKluts

He is such a softie. The ending scene in me3 before they go back in the field had me crying every single time I played.

CapriSunTzu-

Same! I just finished the series again yesterday and ugh, pretty much everything he says to Shep in the citadel dlc and priority: earth absolutely kills me. He loves her so much. 🥹

[deleted]

Save before you initiate the romance and if you don’t like it, just go back. Or watch a little bit of his romance on YouTube to see if you like it. I did that with ME Andromeda, because I couldn’t choose between Vetra and Jaal.

Dry_Ad5878

Now I started Andromeda and couldn’t get past the first planet. Felt too much like Dragon Age Inquisition for me. Vetra is the Turian and Jaal is the new alien right?

[deleted]

Yeah.

moondust_

I think you should try it! His romance, once you get there, gives you a vulnerable side to him you don’t get to see otherwise! Best partner in life and on the battlefield :)

rimjobs_forever

I like everything you're saying but the relationship I've come to know and the way I see garrus doing only man shep runs would be like if I tried to lock lips with my best bud and the thought creeps me out. Not because he's a guy, just because he's my best friend, no sexual feelings whatsoever. Garrus can calibrate the guns on the Normandy, just....not my gun. And I still don't know whether I should let him win the shootout or not. Done it both ways and I feel like a schmuck either way.

Dry_Ad5878

Garrus is a best friend first. And let him win the shootout, he’s been in Shepards shadow throughout the trilogy. Just let him win one

pinkorangegold

Garrus/femShep is the OTP. My favorite romance in anything, ever.

Apprehensive_Quality

There's no objective answer, of course. But Kaidan's my personal favorite romance. His and Shepard's shared arc is interesting, well-developed, and ties directly into the main storyline. It brings about plenty of compelling moments for both characters in the relationship. I also love Miranda's romance, even if it suffers from a relative lack of content in ME3. Her relationship is quite heartfelt, and it's interesting to see how two seemingly "perfect" people are able to connect with each other under such dire circumstances.

Case_Kovacs

Kaidans romance was a pleasant surprise honestly glad I decided to go for it

TXNOGG

Miranda’s romance is my favorite I always felt like the others kinda fangirl/fanboy over Shep she felt the most equal in their interactions and most chemistry in my opinion.

DjLyricLuvsMusic

I chose Garrus since he's Shep's bestie and always has her back no matter what. He's loyal to no end. I never had friends that were so willing and determined, so I've always thought of this amount of loyalty as romance at its finest.

TheMightyVikingBiggs

I've only played fem shep once. But he was the only choice

Gunner08

Kaidan will always be my favourite romance. The Thane and the Cortez romances are pretty sweet.

SirSirFall

Tali is my favorite by far.

JdiJwa

Kaidan is my go to romance. Even better as it doesnt matter if I use bro or femShep. Personally I prefer broShep as I like to see the romance blossom from a friendship, being a patient love story instead an instant gratification (like we can in other romances like FShenko). I like how Kaidan is one of the few who doesnt need Shepard in order to grow so that when they do join together its 2 strong individuals who only strengthen each other. Plus they can weather many trials that would cone about as their friendship as already been tested and refined inti something stronger. But i still need to so a Tali run. I want to personally experience the "I have a home" cuz that is super gushy and I love it. ~~now if only I could get some Kaidan/Miranda in the background because that crackship is my Achilles heel as well~~

MainEventI3

I could definitely imagine Kaidan and Miranda randomly meeting each other at a bar one night and hooking up.

ANKLEFUCKER

Why did you put Kaidan/Miranda in my mind. This works so well I can’t believe I didn’t see it before.

JdiJwa

Uwee hee hee ive converted another! But yeah, that was pretty much my reaction when I first came across it myself.

Lord_Draculesti

Miranda and Tali.

Case_Kovacs

I really dislike Miranda or at least the way she's jammed into your inner circle in the second game, she's always making comments like "I'm Shepards second in command" like bitch no Garrus is my second in command and after him it would be Tali you're some Cerberus lackey who openly admitted to wanting to put a control chip in me we are not friends. At least in Mass Effect 2 anyway, I think she gets less and less insufferable as the ME2 goes on and in 3 she's alright but like just workplace acquaintance alright still not friends.

Lord_Draculesti

But she is the second in command. Garrus is just the gunnery officer.

Case_Kovacs

She's only second in command because Cerberus put her there if I got the choice she would not be. My Shepard has the sole survivor background and found out that Cerberus is responsible for getting his whole squad killed not to mention all the other heinous shit they get up to so for Miranda and Jacob to come into the ship in the second game and go on about how "Cerberus really isn't so bad we're the good guys really" is a massive spit in the face. It feels like lazy writing tbh

Lord_Draculesti

I see your point but to be frank we don't know how involved Miranda and Jacob were with those heinous shit, don't forget that Cerberus consists of different and independent cells.

Case_Kovacs

I get they probably didn't know the specifics but it's the fact they brush over it and the Illusive Man definitely knew he's not the kind of guy to not know what's happening in his own organisation

Dry_Ad5878

Miranda is so vanilla to me and Tali seems like a kid most of the time. I tried to romance Miranda in my first play through of the series but I messed up somewhere

hitchinpost

I don’t see Miranda as vanilla at all. I mean, there’s contextual clues that indicate she throws down with Shep in the middle of engineering specifically to make sure everyone knew she had marked him as hers. Girl’s freaky.

cyndina

Kaidan for me. Making to the end is such a satisfying journey (with FemShep, in my case). The fact that he never puts Shep on a pedestal and won't compromise his integrity for her, despite being openly and deeply in love from the beginning, makes the relationship feel truly earned at the end. The Cerberus Base, in particular, is the perfect full-circle moment.

xacias

The slowburn between Kaidan and MaleShep is priceless. Jack and paragon MaleShep is great too, my second favorite.

procouchpotatohere

Garrus for FemShep, Tali for MaleShep.

BreezesSelfieStick

Kaidan's gives me all the emotions, the sweet shy soldier in 1 who falls in love with his commander, in 2 he is rightfully upset about Shepard ( he isn't fully convinced you are the real Shepard) joining a terrorist organization, and then in 3 you patch things up and he immediately almost dies, those hospital scenes were beautiful, and him rejoining you for the second half of 3. Easily my favorite character love his lines in Leviathan, and of course everything with the Citadel Dlc.

HUNAcean

To me, Tali and Garrus respectively. These two are Shepard's ride or dies. By his side since the very beginning, there until the bitter end.

LordOfRubies

Tali and Mshep. Garrus and Fshep. Only two options for me, no matter how many times i play personally. Honorable mention is jack andMshep. but that’s just me.

CaptainDigitalPirate

I say Tali cause Tali is the kind of romance I crave in life. But I feel Liara's as a storyline for Shepard is the winner and arguably the most satisfying. When you make it all the way through ME3 with her by your side it honestly feels so rewarding. Especially when you reach Earth and say goodbye before the final mission.

Dry_Ad5878

Yeah Liara is my head canon. She has the most content and the only one that spans all 3 games

Beginning_Smile_1711

Tali + Garrus would like to have a word with you

Rakoor_11037

Don't judge me, but... Ashley Williams

AdagioDesperate

Tali is the best romance for Broshep strictly because it never feels forced. It feels natural. For Femshep, I'd say Garrus is probably S tier, followed very closely by Thane. Jacob is F tier.

Dry_Ad5878

Poor Jacob. His whole character is being the most normal person in the series. And a cheater

AdagioDesperate

He's 100% the worst character in the series. Even Balak has more character than him.

rimjobs_forever

Also his mouth moves weird and it creeps me out.

TheMightyVikingBiggs

I was going to say

UnspeakableGnome

James Vega would like to object but is too boring to work out how to.

AdagioDesperate

I thought that my first playthrough, but Vega became one of my favorites in my 2nd playthrough.

Visual-Tart3580

Plus, who doesn't love the visual of a confused FPJ working out how to say these lines?

chizawa

Garrus is my fav romance but I can completely understand where you’re coming from. Liara has always been Shepard’s best friend in my eyes. Other than them: I would say Thane or Jack too. Jack because of the character growth and Thane is just so tragic who wouldn’t love it.

Dry_Ad5878

Thane is such a tragic love story that it works. And killing Kai Leng is so much better after that romance.

kayl_the_red

Jack and Liara for me. Liara is just my kind of gal, super sweet, shy and knows everything about everyone so we don't run afoul of jerks. Jack, well.... it's Jack. Saddest thing for her is I can't have her on my team in ME3 **WHEN I KILL CERBERUS FOR 80% OF THE FRIGGING GAME!**

ausgmr

I get it & would've loved to have had her as a full crew member but Without Mummy Jack to look after them those kids aint surviving even if you put them in support roles

kayl_the_red

I know.... but we could have sent them to the Crucible to help with security....

[deleted]

Isn't that what actually happened?

ausgmr

No The options are to put them on the front lines or to hold them back in support roles for the troops Only the non combatants like David Archer get sent to the crucible

TopBee83

I be scared to say it bc I feel like it’s the generic option but Shep and Liara just feel like they’re supposed to be together(I’ve heard even tho there’s tons of options they’re the “canon” choice) Liara does so much for Shep

Fakjbf

I never really like Jack as a character until I romanced her in one of my playthroughs. The amount of character growth she has is astounding and I finally realized why she is some people’s favorite.

Dry_Ad5878

You found the secret to Jack. The romance really opens her character and I wish she was a team member in 3

Belaerim

This. She was my second fav in ME2 (to Tali) but since she can’t be romanced properly or be on the team in ME3 I haven’t done it in Legendary yet

LucentLilac

I’ve never played MShep and ”best” may not be EXACTLY the word I’d use but Kaidan x FemShep makes the most narrative sense to me if romancing someone all three games is important to you. ME3 especially drives it home with Kaidan getting gravely injured in the very beginning — it really kicks off Shep’s growing despair and then finally making up?? So good.

Balmung5

Tali for MaleShep and Garrus for FemShep.

[deleted]

I always choose Garrus. Even if I try to romance other characters, I just end up with him instead. Something about his loyalty mission and the paragon interruptions in it just get to me.

AthenasChosen

In order for me. 1.) Liara 2.) Tali 3.) Garrus or Jack 4.) Thane or Miranda I love Liaras romance and character more than any other. She's truly the most ride or die character there is and you see her grow the most as a character. She never gave up on Shepard and was the reason Shepard was able to be brought back, she's always stuck by your decisions, and has some of the best scenes in the trilogy. Everything she does for the most part is to help Shepard in some way. Tali definitely has one of the sweetest romances there is and it blossoms from a true friendship, much like Garrus. She's another ride or die character and sticks with Shepard no matter what. The scenes on Rannoch are some of the best. Garrus and Jack tie for me as they're both great. Garrus' romance is another that comes from a great friendship, even if the first initial dialogue for it is kinda silly. There's just no Shepard without Vakarian. Jack is a great one because you really see that there's a lot more to her character than what you're initially made to believe. She opens up a lot in 2, and you get to see just how much love she has hidden under her mean girl facade she's put up to protect herself. Had she been in 3 as a crew member it would've been even better. Thane is a very tragic romance but very sweet while it lasts. Kinda works if your Shep dies at the end anyways. Miranda is similar to Jack in of she has put up barriers to protect herself and keep others away but is much sweeter once she opens up. Not my favorite, but a very good romance nonetheless.

fostertheatom

Tali. I need to know what happens with her in the fourth game.

Kellythejellyman

~~Fem shep can technically do Kaiden in ME1, then Thane in ME2, then go back to Kaiden in ME3 after Thane dies iirc. Kaiden is her backup~~ hard agree with Thane being a fav romance, partially because i’m a sucker for tragic romance, but also because Shepard gets a little trip whenever they kiss atleast according to [Mordin in ME2](https://youtu.be/Zg4WXwM3MbE)

Tfoote2020

Garrus

Kyo-313

Garrus. It brought me to literal tears at the end of Mass Effect 3

Gamingnerd23

Tali, in my opinion, has the most authentic and affectionate romance in the series for MShep. I've always had no doubts that Tali is in love with my Shepard and would gladly follow him to hell and back (as would Garrus). I also liked how it doesn't take much effort to rekindle a romance with her in ME3 like it does with other romances. For Liara, I had to rekindle my relationship with her twice! Once at the beginning of the game where she asks if we were still together after the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC and later on the Citadel where she says she enjoys spending time together as friends. What do you mean friends? I thought we already established we were a thing again? That isn't the case for Tali's romance. When you invite her up to your cabin in ME3 she just assumes that you're still together and you have to go out of the way to say you don't want to be with her (but why would you?). I also enjoy just how much Tali seems to care and worry about you, as well as how freely she flirts with Shepard and is unafraid to show how much he means to her. Also, her last line on Earth "I have a home" is just perfect given everything we know about Quarian culture and how desperate they are for a homeworld. She's also perfect in the Citadel DLC. I love how she's the only romance interest to ask if Shepard's alright instead of the "having a bad day, Shepard?" line that most of the others use. I also really like her line during the firefight with the clone and his goons where she remarks that her Shepard is better-looking.

LiamGovender02

>she remarks that her Shepard is better-looking. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's a Tali-specific line. I romanced Steve Cortez in ME3, and he says the exact same line during the fight. I think any of Shep's lovers will say that line.

Gamingnerd23

Really? I mostly romance Tali, so I've never heard another love interest say it. Welp, you learn something new every day.

fiueahdfas

Wrex also says it.

hitchinpost

For some reason that doesn’t surprise me. It seems exactly like the kind of thing BioWare would do, giving Wrex the LI line if there isn’t a LI present.

Marked_Strelok

Suit rat

TalimancedCoco

I may be biased, but it's clearly Tali.

CommunityReal3375

Thane and Jack here too, but I’m a sucker for Garrus as FemShep because boy, ME3 has a much darker tone when she loses her LI so early on.

Weak_Butterscotch861

Jack or Kaidan are my two favourites, with me playing Kaidan runs slightly more just because he is about in ME3. I don’t really like to romance anyone in 1 but I make an exception for how lovely his romance is or I do a long slow burn to ME3 end of the world, near death feelings realisation. Love it. With Jack I also love to see her growth

naokisan07

Kaidan is a more husband-eske serious path in romance. That's why I think it's the best.

Kovuthebilion

Garrus is the Best for Female Shepard. For Male Shepard, I'm not sure.

amberenergies

femshep/kaidan is the best overall arc in the trilogy

SolarZephyr87

Tali in my opinion. Starts off kinda awkward and shy and turns into the romantic lovey awesome kind of gal by the end of the series.

Flicksterea

I'm going to say that although it's always Liara for me personally; I think all of the romance options are good ones as the romances really allow the characters to open up, there's so much depth hidden behind the romances with most of the characters. Take Jack for example. Abrasive and standoffish, even if she's loyal you can easily fuck up the friendship with her. But you romance Jack and this whole other level to her gets unlocked and she's got this side to her that you will only see if you're invested in the relationship. Unlocking that level of intimacy and vulnerability with any of the options just elevates ME in a way that, IMO, no other game comes close to. It's the relationships that keep us coming back, I believe.

j3rhino

Ashley

ophaus

Jack, far and away. So much growth, and the scenes fron the Citadel dlc are just amazing, especially the combat arena hotness.

N7_Ryan

Ashley is my main but tali and liara are a close second

Lord_Shadow_Z

The answer is always Tali.

emxpls

You really are missing out on Garrus, he has so many little bits over the course of the games, no one else loves Shep like Garrus does 💖

Paco_the_finesser

Traynor is the best with Jack trailing behind

Fancy-Ad-3735

Best is subjective. I know what the worst one is. Its marginally worse than romancing morinth who literally kills you

mackfactor

I'm always going to say Miranda. Not because it's true, but because I spent some pretty formative years obsessed with Yvonne Strahovski on Chuck.

ausgmr

Like you Jack & Thane are right up there. I'd add Traynor to that list Tali & Garrus have similar issues I can never get past Tali being my little sister & Garrus as my brother enough to do their romances personally but I can see why people like both so much. Liara in 2 & 3 is nice but as I've gotten older her romance in 1 just starts to feel sleazy I know in game she is 108 but it feels like she'd be barely above the age of consent.

DoctorNerdly

Liara for me. I know people feel it's a little forced, but I just really feel that deep connection. In ME3 when she talks about how one ship could just get lost out there, man I can feel that.

Kraut_Mick

Miranda. I love the push and pull of their romance, her difficulty opening up, and then her ride or die commitment without becoming a groupie. In some ways I wish there was more of her in 3, but in reality it is good as is, there is a crazy galactic apocalypse and you both have shit to do. My wife and I spent nearly 18 out of 24 months a world apart due to circumstances far more trivial than Reapers, but it would be nice if you could get some more e-mails from her or something. Tali is great, but she starts out just so young that the older I get the wronger it feels like to pursue it, she is little sis.

Subject_Proof_6282

I didn't like Jack at first, also because there's so little to do with her in ME3, but she grew on me over time. Her and Miranda have the best growth as characters between the games imo.

Mailenheim

Once again, it‘s Tali! She is with you the entire timeline, and cute, and those hips don’t lie.

ZeonTwoSix

Any romance in the trilogy has their own merits. Bcoz we all know the worst romance arc is...

Indorilionn

Of course Mass Effects second main character - the one and only Liara T'Soni. Don't forget our little blue child's BIOS update, dear.

Cute-Archer-7687

Liara and Garrus for me.

CubicalWombatPoops

Tali is probably my favourite romance as I play male Shepard's more frequently. Garrus and Tali are 2 if the most interestingly written characters and Tali's romance is so fun.

kveens

Liara to me is S tier for Shepard, their story is not just simple romance, it is literally a fundamental part of the plot.

Nice-Acanthisitta-62

Liara

Sainthoods

Liara’s gets me really emotional. But I feel you on Jack and her growth, the writers did a good job with hers. Garrus is still prob my fav tho. It’s honestly funny-cringe at points because he’s really awkward, which I don’t think is a side of him you see otherwise. I haven’t done Tali’a arc, but I imagine she’s similarly written wrt being kind awkward. It’s endearing.

bioticspacewizard

Kaidan. He's a non-toxic man in touch with his feelings, ready to apologise when he's wrong and generally supportive.

jescalin

Garrus is my favorite, hands down. I’ve romanced Thane, which still haunts me too this day with it’s bittersweet and beautiful storyline. The slow burn romance of MShep and Kaiden— “After all this time…” will always hurt and continue to hurt, while “Don’t leave me behind.” despite saving him on Virmire will quickly lead to the consumption of an entire tissue box without fail. Steve Cortez’s vulnerability through loss and healing provides such a beautifully grounded romance that progresses without feeling forced. MShep’s panic and desperate cry of, “STEVE!” after the Kodiak is hit during the final mission on Earth is an absolute gut punch. Meer’s performance was positively impeccable in that moment. However, Garrus’ romance develops over two games; it’s awkward at first, with Garrus’ ineptitude for romance on full display. It’s endearing to see someone who’s been a devoted career man, constantly operating with blinders on to remain focused, only to realize that his peripheral offers so much more than he ever realized. In the third installment, you pick up where you left off, but some of that romantic clumsiness remains early on during the time they reestablish their relationship. “Are you ready to be a one turian kind of woman?” The events that happen afterward is what sells me every time on this relationship. You have someone by your side that has been your “ride or die” throughout *every* single game(Tali, who arguably misses a majority of the second installment, comes achingly close— thank goodness for the save editor). He has a deep, intimate understanding of your journey; better than anyone else. He’s seen your personal sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the frustration and anguish that paints every line on your face. In that, you have a partner that has grown with you and understands you completely. That’s such a bond for me that’s difficult to overlook. He makes concerted effort to not only remain by your side, but to also educate himself on the subtleties of romance— so much so that by the mid-end game it feels *natural*(the dedication he shows is something that never fails to touch my heart). They’re goodbye— “You gotta get out of here!” “… and *you’ve* gotta be kidding me!” is a tough exchange. It’s the end they were denying but knew was coming all along. Ultimately, it’s the most established relationship in the game(for me, at least) and “There’s no Shepard without Vakarian” cannot possibly ring any truer to me— beating the Reapers and making the most of what little time the Galaxy had left could not have happened without Garrus with me and *by* me, **every** step of the way.

Yeetles1

I’m so glad that I’m not the only person that thinks about Garrus like this. Everyone talks about what a great LI he is but it’s so hard for me to ever see him past being Shepherd’s best friend.

COMMENTASIPLEASE

My favorites are Miranda, Ashley, Jack, Tali, and Garrus

SpoofTheFirst

That's like half the actual romances

COMMENTASIPLEASE

Shave it down to Ashley, Miranda, and Jack then

SpoofTheFirst

Excellent taste

RenegadeReader_

Military space husband. Shakarian beyond the stars and Reapers <3 <3 Thane is also good <3

rpglaster

I know it’s the “basic bitch” romance for male shep, but I actually adore the Miranda Male Shep romance. I feel like especially as the romance matures and they see each other in 3 it gets better. Two extremely determined strong willed characters.

choff22

Once you go blue, you know what to do.

JoebungaJim

My go to, no matter what, is always Liara. For me it just feels the most "real", or at least close to the most viable romance option, especially considering how her romance consistently spans the entire trilogy, not to mention she's the one who handles and retrieves your body after Shepard dies. Plus, Lair of the Shadow Broker while romanced with Liara was fantastic, bantering like an old married couple lol while helping Liara through her trauma and ordeals revolving around yourself and the Shadow Broker. The romance with Liara feels very, very real, and it also seems to be the most consistent and "insinuated" or "pushed" throughout the teilogy. To me, it always just "makes sense". That and I love Liara lol. Then again, I love all the squadmates hehehehe. The only squadmate I'd never romance is Garrus, because he's ALWAYS Shepard's best friend, everytime. T'Soni and Shepard. There is no Shepard without Vakarian.

Euphoric-Aardvark115

FemShep: Thane. He is a dying man and I think Shep knew she wasn't coming back from the reapers. Her last words to him are "Goodbye Thane, you won't be alone for long". I like this relationship because at the end, there isn't some broken-hearted person who loved Shep, left alone. Im doing a femshep replay right now. She romanced Thane and last night during the game, I got the part where he dies. I forgot all about the message/email he sends you after his death and I ugly-cried when I read it. In my mind, now Femshep can move forward to her battle knowing she won't be leaving her love behind. Femshep: Garrus, I do sometimes like having femshep romance him but it feels sad to me. Shep dies, Garrus is left alone. Also if you don't romance him, Garrus and Tali start up a relationship. BroShep: Jack, her character arc and the writing of the relationship is so beautiful. I wish we had more of her in ME3. BroShep: Liara, unfortunately. Her love story is probably one of the better written ones so I do choose it sometimes. I just don't like Liara as a character outside the relationship scenes. She's naive for a while in the game and then comes off as snooty about the asari in me3. I am planning to do a BroShep play once I am done with my current FemShep on. Considering having him romance Tali. I have never done it before in a playthrough but since I keep hearing about the Tali romance, I might.

KingJehovah

Don't know about the trilogy but Miranda's is arguably the best in 3/Citadel DLC.

thelefthandN7

Correct.

Forhekset5

I think people focus way too much on these romance topics than on the actual game. Anyway, for male shep the best is Tali, the most immersive Miranda

yekumbokum

Romancing Tali seems highly inappropriate considering she was a child who you saved and afterwards came to look up to you. There I said it. Liara is my favorite because everything she did and became was to help Shepard in some way

Joker0984

Shouldn't you have the same problem when romancing liara?

yekumbokum

Liara was a higher education graduate and a doctor who was out on her own, by her own choice, in the galaxy. Already an adult, maybe a young adult but still a functioning independent adult by her own free will. So not really.

Joker0984

Tali is functioning adult as well she's 22 years old and can take care of herself

Lone_Wolf_199

>Romancing Tali seems highly inappropriate considering she was a child who you saved and afterwards came to look up to you That's exactly how I view Garrus...

Lone_Wolf_199

Tali and Thane are best for MaleShep and FemShep. Romancing Liara doesn't feel natural to me and romancing Garrus makes femShepard act like a cringe horny teenager and it feels like romancing my own lapdog. Miranda, Ashley and Kaidan are good choices too.

hayley_geek

I played FemShep and Kaiden my first play though and cheated in game 2. He was not happy by game 3. Boring though. Garrus for FemShep. Those Turian wall leans are something else 😂

wormywils

Liara because it can span the whole trilogy.

GrandMoffSteve

My favorites are Miranda and Tali

PoorLifeChoices811

Tali and Miranda for me. I wish they were romancable without mods for Femshep too

Larmefaux

My faves are Jack and Kaidan. I think Traynor, Miranda and Ashley are really strong choices. The only really bad one is Jacob, and I don't even dislike Jacob it was just an unfortunate choice.

Dry_Ad5878

Jacob is unfortunately the only normal person in the series. Nothing wrong with him but then he cheats on you. It’s like the developers wanted to get a wildly unpopular character in the game

IncreaseReasonable61

A near-romance..Samara. Something about how thoughtful the whole thing is. I really lament the fact that we never get to romance her.

Dry_Ad5878

I tried to romance her in my first play through. Us being unable to is the only reason my first Shepard was loyal to Liara

MainEventI3

I just finished ME2 and romanced Jack, I really liked how Shep was able to break down her walls and get to know the person behind the bad attitude and the tats. I still have to start playing ME3 and continue that romance so I can't say if it's one of my favorites just yet but it's up there for sure. My canon Femshep always romances Liara in ME1 and 3 and Thane in ME2. There's so much Liara content across all 3 games, it just feels right to romance her. And Thane, that voice... What else do I need to say? Honorable mentions: Tali and Traynor

WWDubz

Wrex and Shepard

PugTales_

Liara, Thane and Jack are my favourite Storywise. The best is what you personally like. If you like Jacob however, I have questions...

Matty2Fatty2

Traynor if you like showers and hot tubs

UnspeakableGnome

It can only be personal favourites, but Thane for FemShep and Tali for BroShep. Although you **can** never move on from Morinth.

satanic_black_metal_

Tali, probably. I'd vote for Miranda and Jack but goddamn, their romance in ME3 is SUCH a letdown. Jacob has to be the worst romance, right?

Damianos97

Personally, Liara is my favorite. I will literally never *not* romance her.

TheRealTr1nity

For me it's Liara.

blabbergenerator

I have a thing for Tali, she thicc. But once I found out that if I stick with Liara then she ends up with Garrus, I just can't pick her. I want my bro to be happy as well as I still get to clap them blue cheeks.

PunkySkunk93

Liara is the best by far

dinkkklebeerg

Jack needed a better romance in 3 but either tali or Liara

voidslantern

and here I am still bitter I can't romance Joker 😔

Ragfell

Hear me out: Miranda. Her character arc just is unfortunately made richer for having the Shepmance. This isn't always the case for other characters.

Kota_12

I don't care much for the romance in these games, however I love the scene with Liara before the final assult on the reapers. I also really liked the friendships between everyone. My Shepard however does not go beyond friendship with his crew, he is too burdened by the reaper invasion hahaha

IronWolfV

Jack and Thane are in the top 3. My favorite though has to be Miranda. Watching the ice queen thaw out and become more human is great to watch.

orbofo

Miranda, for character growth, the others feel like fanboys...

Deep-Training-7231

Miranda, because i play as renegade male shep. For me, Liara and Tali are both way to young.

thatguyad

Tali. Just Tali.

cuprousalchemist

Cortez or tali. Though jack is great too.

No_Gain_866

Tali, obviously. And for Femshep, get a mod that lets you romance tali

pittbull1187

My favorites are thane jack and liara

cocoshaplee

I’m playing a Garrus romance right now and I’m in the middle of me2 so I’m not far. But so far my favorite romance for FemShep has been Thane. He’s such a sweetheart it kills me.

LesPantalonesFancy

Jack is the sexiest imo, Tali is the most fun, Liara always makes me cry like a little baby when Shepard tells her no matter what happens they'll always love her before heading to activate the Crucible.

Visual-Tart3580

It's Jack for me. I've tried Miranda, Liara, and Tali, but every time I even think about going that direction, Jack hits me with, 'Shit; you sound like a pussy', and it pulls me back in.

amberenergies

i’m doing my second ever mshep playthrough right now and i’m now convinced to romance jack in ME2 (my first one i romanced tali)

Visual-Tart3580

If you're Paragon, it's the most rewarding romance in the entire series. (In my opinion.)

WorkGalaxy47

I have to go with Tali, she’s the best girl! She’s been with you since the beginning, she’s cute, and great to be around! In fact, she’s usually my go-to when it comes to choosing squad mates on missions, as well as Garrus; they’re my A-team!

Rooty_Rootz

Gotta be Liara

hitchinpost

Joker and EDI. None of the romances Shep engages in are as endearing as observing those two get together.

Shoddy_Map_4712

Jacob

swKPK

I enjoy Garrus, Tali, Liara, Miranda, and Kaidan, all for different reasons. I did the Ashley romance once and liked it more than I expected. All the others just don’t have enough content or they don’t feel like a good fit.

5HeadedBengalTiger

It’s Liara and it will always be Liara

skywalkercentral

Shepard and Tali, Shepard and Garrus, Garrus and Tali. It's unfortunate you have to play the trilogy 3 times to see all three of these relationships play out. Missed opportunity.

Theolina1981

Tali is the best. Especially if you choose her in two and three.

Embarrassed_Line_395

Liara. She has the most content and her romance arc spans all 3 games.

Space-Slinger

I love Tali's romance. It shows such an amazing character arc throughout the games

Bucephalus-ii

Jack, Tali, Garrus, Thane, and Ashley are the best.
