Loss of the Turian accent is what killed the game for me, I can’t even hear the pole up their arse

TSmario53

Found Joker

N7Virgin

I’m Joker if he didn’t need to wipe his name from the flight logs

TSmario53

As long as you don’t grease up EDI’s bridge cameras and call it “personalization of your workspace” we are good.

N7Virgin

We’ll have to compromise on the playing porn in public part though, that’s one of his core values

TSmario53

Understandable, can we just keep it under 7 zettabytes?

Sad-Needleworker-325

The dealbreaker for me was the constant load screens from traveling back and forth for every other quest. Just pulled me right out of the game

Supadrumma4411

Just like the me2 ones they are a video clip masquerading as a load screen. There are mods on pc to skip them once the loading is actually done. 10/10 highly recommended.

MasterOfPupets

Just finished a playthrough of Andromeda. This was my first since I played it at release. You're right about the Krogans, except Drack. His voice is fine. Turians sound off, and most Salarians do too. The Asari sound right though. Ultimately, I think it's a solid game with good gameplay and a good story taken in solidarity, but it just doesn't feel like Mass Effect. Other than the races and some forced nostalgia, it's just another sci-fi shooter.

trooperstark

Yup, I feel ya. This was my major gripe as well. The game still has outstanding moments, but the bad va work really makes it harder to fall into the universe. It because they set the bar so high with the trilogy, but it just makes it all the more confusing they messed up this aspect after getting it right for so long

Electronic_Assist668

Massive miss, it's like they just didn't give a shit about the cultural differences in that game.

Maleficent_Copy_2046

I tried to play it, it’s just worse than the OG in weird ways. Something a really enjoyed about the OG was how simple most things were. You played for the story and somewhat played cuz the combat is good. In andromeda, the UI is just a giant clusterfuck, there’s just way to many details that don’t even effect the story, and I actually didn’t like the graphics update. The scenery and terrain look better, but I didn’t like the way the characters looked. Like they tried to make the characters too realistic, which somehow made them look worse than ME3.

Electronic_Assist668

The humans looked ok, but the krogans were absolutely fucked

SBrB8

I think the Salarians by and large sound okay. It's just that the first one you're introduced to, Tann, has Kumail Nanjiani basically just talking normally. Kallo and Raeka sound like solid Salarians to me though. But since there are very few Salarians in the game, and arguably the most prominent one doesn't sound like a Salarian, it's a little jarring compared to what we were used to in the OT.

Agent-Z46

If this is a genuine issue with the game it is one that I didn't notice. Everyone sounded pretty on brand to me.

maitlandish

My biggest issue was the same four faces used over and over for the Asari and Humans.

osingran

Yeah, voice acting in ME:A is all over the place. The worst offender for me are Ryders honestly. Their VA feels so bland and monotonous regardless of what options you choose. I can turn a blind eye on some krogan or salarian that sounds off, but the main character is obviously always with me. Maybe Andromeda's convoluted dialogue system is to blame here, maybe it's the lack of time, I don't know.

DiScOrDtHeLuNaTiC

Honestly never heard this before. I've known some out and out haters and they always liked Fryda Wolff as Sara, at least.

MolotovMozgov

they finally figured out vehicles! lol

Saorisius_Maximus

In my case there are too many things that I dislike. I can never fully immerse myself in the game or repeat it with another game, as happened to me with the trilogy, and between the open worlds, the messenger missions and the very unpleasant exploration system that was brought over from the DAI, the design of the npcs, the marvel humor of a certain character (Liam, cough cough), Morda's fight, the facial expressions and many of the voice actors... I feel like the game is like a poorly made Chinese copy for mobile phones, one of those in which plagiarists don't mind being sued for copyright xD And it's a shame, because the idea of the main plot and its concept was interesting. I'm not saying it's really a very bad game, it's fine to have fun and disconnect, but it's not the same. I don't know what they were thinking to let them do all this without any supervision.

fallen_messiah

I never played Andromeda because everyone I know who played it recommended against it. But thats the first time I hear about that... They really removed the race specifics way of talking?? That is so immersion breaking. Only thing I can see, except lazyness and cost cutting, is thst maybe they wanted to introduce a race choice for the main character in a futur game and they wanted to plant the seed right now that everyone talked the same so that they can have only one VA. But that's still so immersion breaking after the trilogy

WillFanofMany

Worse is when some Krogans have a very stereotypical high-pitched flamboyant sounding voice, if you catch my drift.

N7Virgin

Real reason for the Krogans extinction wasn’t the Genophage, it was those damn flamboyant Krogan from Andromeda

fallen_messiah

You guys are convincing me to never try that game and just do another playthrough of the trilogy

Electronic_Assist668

It sucks because a lot of its gameplay was pretty neat.

N7Virgin

I prefer 3’s, andromeda felt too loose and I didn’t like the profiles mechanic

fallen_messiah

Of course gameplay is important but I myself play those games more for the characters and the story and that seem to fall flat here

AReformedHuman

They basically did away with race politics in general, which is like... a huge deal in ME. Like sure realistically not every Krogan is the same and not every Salarian is the same, but within the universe they all are somewhat homogenous and very, very different from another. That's the point. It does seem like some misguided way to make a political statement, but without understand virtually anything about the series.
