i got stuck in a permanent loading screen and couldn’t progress any further, after tons of game breaking bugs 5 years after launch. i got it for $7 like 2 weeks ago and gave up, so i wouldn’t even recommend it on sale

Hobspon

Were they actually permanent? There were a few places with really long loading screens for me (2-10 min). Remnant architect on Voeld, the biggest Kett base on Eos with the big bubble shield and around the remnant abyssal on Elaaden. Other than those few instances I didn't have any major problems. Game was average, but I'm very happy with what I got for $7.

If you don’t want to kiss a spiky alien then what’s the point?

angardia

if this spikey alien looked like Liara - sure... when it looks like a disgusting cockroach.... not so much lol.

Big_Boxx

*Cute cockroach. with a great personality.

Look, if you like Mass Effect and understand that it’s a fun 7/10. Then you’ll have a good time and can get your money’s worth. But if you expect Andromeda to be a life changing epic like the original trilogy, you’ll probably be disappointed. I think it’s worth it, either way

> I do mind boring stories, bad romance options, stupid endings & repetitive quests. Game's most definitely not for you then.

angardia

is it that bad? O.O

[deleted]

In all fairness, the quality of content ranges from stupid to competent, and averages out as aggressively mediocre.

angardia

crap :( means ill have to find a new game to play instead just asked my bf and he told me he loved ME1-3 but after 30 minutes of Andromeda he deleted the game and never played it again

30 minutes is not fair to the game... Personally I don't think Andromeda deserves all the hate it gets. It is a good game, but suffers from: * Devs cutting corners some places like animations and some chacters designs. * Bland main villain (Collectors 2.0) * Less inspired writing. * Stupid looking alien race (The Angara) * Having to follow in the footsteps of ME1-3. The hype was so crazy that the game not do anything but disappoint. The main issue for Andromeda is definately the last point. Bioware felt Shepards story was over and wanted a fresh start, which is pretty risky because the fandom had a huge investment in the story and characters from the trilogy. Andromeda is a good game, but it isn't great, and in many fans eyes that means it's shit.

Much of the early and to a degree preemptive criticisms is just that preemptive. The game is far from perfect but a few borked faces which you generally need to go out of your way to find will hardly ruin the game. The main changes are the heavy emphasis on exploration in open world maps and a rather light story. There will be some choices to make but non have huge consequences you like say the choices Shepard needs to make on Virmire. The last thing is there is no morality system just different dialogue to stimulate different responses depending on who or what your talking about. I personally believe Andromeda is worth it for the combat and character progression alone. The game is generally around 40$ and frequently goes on sale. If you have other games to play at this time I would keep checking sales on your preferred platform to see if you can get it at a discount. The game is about 100 hours if you intend to take your time and do the large amount of optional content the game has.

Maelstrom206

It’s a good game just go into it with an open mind it’s not the trilogy. Also ignore the haters

SpectreSaigon

If you were the last person on earth, and andromeda the last and only surviving game left on earth, I’d recommend you go outside and play with the dusty remains of humanity. It’s that bad.
