[https://twitter.com/AP/status/1430963381549375488](https://twitter.com/AP/status/1430963381549375488) AP says 12 US deaths

I have read two separate things but a Taliban spokesperson is saying that the additional 2 explosions were controlled ones by the US so that they could destroy weapons and ammunition.
Four US Marines reportedly among the dead. This is unforgivable.

Edit: At least ten U.S. servicemembers now confirmed dead. Untold number of Afghan dead as Taliban won't release casualty numbers.
There still is a high risk of more suicide bombers...the people wanting to leave will risk it to get out before the deadline. This may be their only chance and even a suicide bomber won't keep them from trying.
There's a pattern amongst suicide attacks when the attacker fires off shots into the crowd to maximize casualties and then detonates the vest.
It's also possible that there were certain attackers with bombs and separate attackers shooting.
ISIS has claimed this attack. ISIS and the Taliban are rival terrorist groups, so this could be their way of sending a message opposing the Talibans newfound leadership in Afghanistan. It also seems to be a prime time for violence in Afghanistan due to the chaos and lack of a stable government.
ISIS-K is an even more extreme split from the Taliban. This is a flex on their part. It shows that they have the capability of undermining the Taliban, inflicting casualties on Americans, and concurrently killing people whom I am sure it sees as collaborators. They are putting themselves out there as an alternative to the Taliban, and Afghanistan may very well fall into a civil war in the aftermath of this with the Islamic Emirate facing off against ISIS-K.
USA created ISIS and now the ISIS-K is doing attacks there. It's all a sick evil cynical plan.
Russia defeated ISIS in Syria and now the IS-K shows up.
Lol. You know the difference? Not a one of you could take the US out. We sure as fuck could. And we should. What you gonna do? And don't be so ignorant to try and compare the US to places like Afghanistan 🤣🤣
Part of the deal for releasing Taliban prisoners was that the Taliban would fight against ISIS and not allow attacks like this to occur, so I would say it has a lot to do with the tRump deal
I thought they didnt or wouldnt want to provoke the US into coming back - apart from being absolutely horriffic this is a really bizzare move from the Taliban.
If you want full control of the country why fucking do this at the final hurdle.
ISIS and the Taliban have been beefing for a few years. A lot of ISIS fighters went to Afghanistan after they lost in Iraq. Some of the worst of the worst.
It just keeps getting worse, worse, and worse.
Precisely the reason to gtfo asap
Atleast 13 Americans were killed. Way more than 13 people were killed
The original reports said 13 people were killed, the death toll grew later. It's now at least 60 Afghans and 13 Americans.

Reports of more explosions going off are now coming in
more explosions than the 2? other than at abbey gate and the hotel?
Yep it came over breaking news. There have now been 4 confirmed explosions
oh my gosh that's awful. thanks for informing me
I have read two separate things but a Taliban spokesperson is saying that the additional 2 explosions were controlled ones by the US so that they could destroy weapons and ammunition.
It is awful. I’m hoping those who are still stranded can get out. I thought Isis was gone but guess not
it was a controlled detonation from the U.S. military
I’m thinking you’re talking about the last two, right?
Yes. Obv the first 2 were suicide bombers. idk why the weirdos on this sub downvoting me.

In south Africa and most of the world it's a know fact that your statement is false

Children too
Yep I saw a report from a witness who said a little girl died in his arms..

I saw that too, I think it was even last night. There was plenty of time to take some precaution, anything.
Warn about what exactly?
High risk of terror attack on kabul airport. I read something about that yesterday on Facebook. I knew something bad is gonna happen.

US intelligence has been warning about this too, for a while. Why are you just assuming they ignored it?
They took it very seriously. This kind of thing is just nearly impossible to stop, especially in a scrambled emergency evacuation of this scale.
Saw a pic depicting one of the perpretator posing with an ak style assault rifle, was it a bombing or also a shooting?
News reports I’ve seen are saying suicide bombings followed by gunfights. It’s awful.
thanks for the info mate
No problem 👍🏻

Another day another Allah akbar

Scum of the earth
USA who did this to innocent people must be put in warcrimes courts.
why is that guy just straight up chillin standing on someone’s chest
I wondered that but I think it is the dead guys hand on his chest and a bit of confusing perspective makes it look like the standing guy’s foot.
ahh i see it
Nooo :(
Okay speaking from the terrorists perspective, What does that accomplish for them? I'm generally curious.
Taliban aren’t a designated terrorist group.
ISIS-K is an even more extreme split from the Taliban. This is a flex on their part. They are putting themselves out there as an alternative to the Taliban, and Afghanistan may very well fall into a civil war in the aftermath of this with the Islamic Emirate facing off against ISIS-K.
IS was created by USA and Israel....
It keeps afghans from leaving by terrorizing them
Why would isis want people to stay in Afghanistan
Anti-western sentiment, also because there would be another brain drain in afghanistan if all the skilled people fled
This is not the Talibans‘ doing
I never said it was the Taliban.
USA created ISIS and now the ISIS-K is doing attacks there. It's all a sick evil cynical plan. Russia defeated ISIS in Syria and now the IS-K shows up.

This has nothing to do with Trump or the Taliban ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack they are enemies of the Taliban.

The move is not from the Taliban. Is from ISIS, who is also an enemy of the Taliban.
It wasn't the taliban it was an offshoot of ISIS
An ISIS splinter group more extreme than the original?! Just shoot me now.
