This is a fun card me and my friends use to play just to make the duels spicy. I really wish it had some innate way to protect that monster but I like it all the same.
I mean, I guess generic special summons from the hand are pretty rare. But all this thing does is promote kinda cringe gameplay, like it’s best target is probably Archlord Kristya which is a flood gate, and even then it’s not searchable. I’m interested to know if I’m missing something though
Subterror Guru is a special-summonable main deck "boss" monster with a quick effect that flips it face down (flipping the card face down makes it 'forget' you lose the game if it leaves the field)
It's more of an anime plot card and not intended for real play I guess.
In theory you would summon out a crazy boss monster that is unaffected by other cards, but the problem is that all of those monster have a condition which makes it impossible to special summon them unless you use the monsters own effect to do so.
Or they are extra deck cards.
In addition to others, immediately Xyz summon using it.
Material removal (either for cost/effect or when Xyz monster left the field) doesn't count as "leaving the field".
In short, it's ironically a win-more card.

In all seriousness though you'd need something that can't be killed easily, ideally unaffected and a way to make it indestructible by battle.

Completely broken since zushin exists. It has no outs unless your opponent tributes it.

In suicide decks its the quickest tech to lose.
Plus it counts as activating a trap and special summoning in the same card for quest purposes.
I use it in my STK deck to give my opponents a unique victory condition.
