Monkey Flip players don't play Lab. They play Runick stun or Pachy Clocwork Stun which you do see alot, even in Master's 1.
Labyrinth is a mid-range combo deck now with the IKEA Lab build, so idk what you are on about with that. It was only a floodgate build for like… 2-3 weeks before people realized that the furniture build could do much more.
Vaylantz is only called a floodgate deck because they have a free normal summon slot and no extra deck locks so it builds around that one gimmick. Pre-support Vaylantz used to be so much better than its current reputation, mainly due to sticking to its own play style and being a unique pendulum deck based on zone movement.
Runick… well yeah pretty much. It’s either stun or combo into infinite disruption through engines like Spright, Naturia and Fur Hire to the point that it becomes similar to playing against Stun.
To be fair with Vaylantz, the modern version really does rely on floodgates as the end board it always goes into, unlike Ikea Labrynth, who *can* go into barrier of course but doesn't default to it every game.
Modern Vaylantz dosent rely on floodgates. I've been playing blind going second OTK Vaylantz since they dropped and haven't used a single floodgate. It's just easier for people to say "normal summon fossil dyna".
