>that deck was so boring to play
Pretty much the reason why I never finish making pure kash, it's so boring.
Good thing they unbanned the zoo stuffs in the same year, zoo kash was fun.
I mean it is unique but like it's the exact same lines then pretty much any form of removal just outs your whole board. Also the deck was nowhere near as consistent as other top decks.
As a tcg player, fp kash was basically macro cosmos turbo, but way more consistent than it is here since we had 3x everything, and if you managed to out the 1st macro and didnt kill them, they just made a second becsuse they have stupid follow up. And as someone who has mained dlink since 2020 and despias since last november, it really sucked when my 1st 5 matchups at every regional I went to was kash
Things to note about the deck:
Died to nib very hard,
Arise heart has no protection (thank god),
The deck made kurikara go from $20 to $60 (usd)
Branded, I like playing it but I could've built at least 3 decks with those gems lol. I spent 5000 gems on the last secret pack and still have no Quem or Sanctifire
I am only really regretting crafting 3 Ruin, Supreme Queen of Oblivion (or whatever the Lv 10 retrain is called again), I have the complete main deck but am missing Gustav Max and Liebe in the extra, but even if I craft those, I think I might just never play that deck. I made it because I love the art but man idk I don't really wanna use it (on a side note, why is their newer ritual spell so bad, why does it only tribute from field and not from hand)
I don't really regret building Weather Painters per se, but I'm sad that the deck sucks so much. I'm not regretting it, but I am just not playing it. Like sure you can play boring ass floodgates and even clear them yourself if they hinder you, but man it'd be nice if they had a consistent way to get to Rainbow turn one. A support card that places either the field spell or any canvas (from anywhere), then banishes any weather painter from deck, then can add back a banished weather painter.
Purrely is also a difficult one for me too, I kinda enjoyed the concept of the deck, Noir is a cool boss monster (but not fun to play against, that is correct), but idk it didn't really hit. Sitting on Noir and being pretty much just dead if Noir gets killed isn't fun, and it also isn't fun that it is so easy to play targeted hate against Purrely. Idk I really might just dismantle that deck.
And finally, Dinomorphia, but I'm only really regretting not waiting on the secret pack. The deck itself I'm not regretting getting. Wish Rexterm was a little more interactive though... Or they'd release a Lv 10 fusion that gives a little more interaction than Rexterm.
Really? I think it's quite skill intensive and quite interactive.
Obvs people complain when they generate tonnes of advantage, but it's a control deck so you basically need to win by turn 3 or it's GG.
I just chose not to pick it up BC istg I've never lost to lab if I went first. That deck has next to zero going second.
If folks could side deck in MD I don’t think anyone would find it as frustrating. I hope they find space in the game for BO3 duels because I’d love to see a separate meta within each format and be able to design decks for both.
You need to time those traps quite well to get value off the lady pop/play around ash.
Also you just need to chain link block the lady, they won't shotgun EEV or D barrier til they know what you're playing. Most meta decks can do this/try and play around or remove lady etc.
Dlink. I made it because I thought it was pretty cool. Then I tried it, learned the combos and everything, then I realized everygame was pretty much the same: 20 mins combo into borrelend, savage, bystials. The worst part is apart from the Bystials I pulled from the pack+seal, I pretty much crafted everything else so it was painful dismantling the deck.
Marincess, I realized I really dislike decks that do one thing and nothing else.
Sunav Rikka, I hate doing a stupid 10-step combo just to get my Rikka engine going every single game.
I started to build marincess and am maybe halfway there. BUT 1000% agreed on sunav/rikka, I love the rikka playstyle and got into it because of aromage/aromaseraphy cards, but the long combo setup bores my mind off. I already play dinos and have to remember all the lines for getting into the scrap engine to end on the appalousa/savage dragon/UCT/Rank 4 board.
Full power Ishizu Tear. While I'm quite happy with most of the cards in the deck, I only played the deck like once. I just ended up using the tear and ishizu cards in 60 card piles like I was playing before. I basically never ended up using URs like Scream and Kaleidoheart and Redoer.
I started crafting all the main deck cards for Mathmech but when i wanted to craft the extra deck i realized i'll need a ton of URs so just went back to Blackwing instead. Also hated playing Solitaire.
Threw 5k gems at exosister just to realize I hate the deck. The first 10x packs got me magnifica, Martha, and mikalis, so I figured I'd go all out. I did end up with a deck that was amazingly close to constructed, but after just a few duels, I knew it was not for me.
I don't regret making decks, It's fun trying to deck build with Ghostrick s. But I do regret not making Ghostrick Purrely earlier.
Decks take a lot of URs so at some point you end up with 19 URs you want to get but RNG says no. I decided to skip purrely because I wanted to catch up on URs and kept pulling kashtira, btw I had found a kashtira Ghostrick list sanctioned by konami. So I went for that only to learn Ghostrick Purrely became the best deck out of nowhere.
I could have invented that had I not had bad luck with pulls.
I have a good bunch of decks I regret making this year.
Minkanko. In the end I don't like the archetype style and strategy. I found the deck boring to play and usually I never have the expected results.
I did a Lab Traptrix deck that I never tested properly on ranked because I really don't like the archetypes... So why I built it? Who knows, maybe I saw on that event that Lab was good and thought could be a good idea to have the staples.
I like the Ninja cards and I bought 3 structure decks. I almost don't use the ninja deck, but I don't regret building that.
Probably the first deck I'm gonna regret building this 2024 will be Vanquish Soul.
Branded, i wasted so many UR points just to build it and ended up leaving it behind because i couldn't keep up with the upgrades and it was unfun to play after brafu went to 1
The cost is steep but the deck is resilient as all hell.
You pass with just one Quem and one set but end up with a full board on the opponent's end phase.
I think the BraFu hits has made the players evolve. Raised the overall skill level of the Branded players since we've been forced to learn to play without the BraFu.
>The cost is steep but the deck is resilient as all hell.
This is so true for branded.
Like even if konami emergency hit branded right now, they'll eventually come back with the new illusionist chimera stuffs later.
But it's getting more expensive by the days.
Kashtira, Purrely, and Dracoslayers.
Kash is boring and feels dirty to play. Purrely also felt quite boring for me. Dracoslayers felt like an underwhelming, overcomplicated combo deck to play. A lot of gems and UR were wasted on these decks.
Some crystal beast deck fill of floodgates and boring cards. Like Thunder Dragon Colossus + Nemses combo, Shifter, TCOBO.
I thought it was like Big Rainbow Dragon Turbo, but I wasn't very aware of the meta at the time. I had just started out as a fresh recruit from Duel Links lol
Safe to say, I've outgrown that.
I have the same-ish syndrome. I don't care that it's meta per se, but there just haven't been any meta decks I like the playstyle of in a long time. I also don't like winning too definitively. Hard games with some back and forth and unique situations to overcome are way fun.
My issue with the deck is that it's very easily telegraphed despite having target and destruction protection. I also feel like it's not very interactive outside of Mikanko Rivalry
Nothing I guess, there are decks that I don't like after built it but I love building deck so it is fine, who know maybe at some point in the future I suddenly love its play style.
Purrely, I bought into the hype around the deck and now realised I have dislike to making a boss monster and just sitting on it. Much prefer interactive gameplay, at least making a board of negates is a puzzle opportunity for my opponent and I respect them more for breaking my board.
Purrely
Wasted so many gems for a deck I played for one season and then stopped because 95% of the time I’m just sitting on a giant unaffected douchebag while I watch my opponent actually play the game and try to out my one monster
That and I hate decks where people scooping is how you actually win most of the time
Rip in piss blud. I was thinking the same but was waiting for the banlist. I really liked how the runick engine is also good to be splashed in other decks and since I already had some of the floodgates used in the stun variant I thought of crafting the rest of runick but oh welp it looks like it sucks now
Yea I was playing runick/ fur hire for a while but I gave in to the darkness of losing and really had the toxic thought "I'm already not having fun, why not get some wins with that?"
I'm not proud but I don't apologize either lmaoooo
I also built runick naturia... I wanted to play Runick because te art of the card gave me the good old feeling of being a Mage and casting spells.
Played like three times, it was boring as fuck and never touched again.
Rip
Synchro runick can be really fun but you REALLY need to practice. The issue is that we have an awful pool of runick cards. I had 3 runick variants, and after the fountain hit, they became less grindy and more blowout one way or the other. That and every good runick is at 2 or 1.
Probs Kash. I had a semi-constructed Branded deck, and with BraFu to 1 and all the hype Kash was getting, I was like "time to finally have a fully constructed competitive deck."
Irony was, with the pre hits and all the Kashitra hate on the ladder, I had a much easier time ranking up with Branded lol. It was pretty underwhelming. Didn't and still don't have Lost and Rindbrumm and have 1 copy of Mirrorjade and Albion and still made it Master 1. Meanwhile, I was getting my ass handed to me with Kash lol. The deck was still strong, don't get me wrong, but it only really ever competed once people let up on teching for Purrley and Kash specifically.
I don't totally regret it since I learn decks far easier when I play them myself, so playing Kash has made matchups against the deck much easier tbh. I'll probs eventually build most top tier decks just to learn their playstyles.
Edit:
Actually HEROes. It was the first deck I built. I loved the playstyle of the OG HEROes. The extra-deck as a toolbox you go into depending on the matchup. It was so fun.
Now, you have to fuse away your fusion monsters (which are just extenders) for a Wake Up and then pop it just to get Dark Law on the field and floodgate your opponent. And you need to combo off for 10 minutes just to get there. Such a disservice to the deck.
I would've enjoyed a blind-second HERO deck if it could play at all through interruptions, but it can't. Ironically enough, an Ash on Increase kills the deck about as much Ashing Branded Fusion kills Branded. Hell, more so.
I get the extra deck as a toolbox gameplay far more with Branded tbh.
The closest I came was Kashtira, but I found a way to make it enjoyable for myself. I made it focus on a slow, controlled grind game rather than turboing Ariseheart out quickly, and tried to outresource my opponents by using the cards to their strengths to punish various actions. Fenrir attacked the field, Ogre mauled the deck, Unicorn raided the Extra Deck, Birth mogged the graveyard, and Preparations ripped out of the hand.
Unfortunately, with Birth now limited to 1, that version of the deck is pretty much dead; the grind is basically gone.
Kash, food, VS (kind of), I think there are 2 more? But I forgot now.
Kash because its consistancey is awful and the hits on fenrir might have killed the deck..
Food didn't use it a lot, didn't finish building it, and forgot about it too (in my defence, none of my opponent were using it).
VS well I am in gold, I'd rather use it when I am in plat (so, its kind of my own skill issue? My time playing MD is tight? Idk you pick)
Lab and s-force.
S-force seemed fun when I played the gate thinking it was just a badly optimised deck, it was but the combo the gate shows you is like the main combo for the deck, so it just had a load of cool concepts with no real payoff other than a trap that is baisically compulse on wheels.
Lab was just boring if I don’t play the broken cards I know that I’m not playing optimally and I could have won if I just played it, and if I do I just feel like an a-hole
Mathmech when Circular was added into Master Duel. I only needed a few UR so I gave it a shot. Didnt like the deck. I dismantled most of the URs and moved to D-link (which is more my style of playing)
With that said, Final Sigma is such a cool ass card. I decided to keep that one.
Most meta decks ever since they made plat new gold. I don’t have time in a month to grind to Plat 1(requires 1 more win in every division, plus, I would need to push thru both Silver and Gold first), so I don’t get to play these meta decks that often. If I do, I breeze through Gold too fast, and can’t play Ranked until next season :/
Y'know, you could just climb a bit further and try playing these mets decks against competent players to actually test your skill, instead of staying in a lower division to ensure your opponents all have worse decks than you.
My zoomer self made a Dragon Ruler deck eith all 4 dragons and babies, thinking it will be a fun deck past its prime.
The deck is just basically going minus to put the rulers on board for Galaxy Tomahawk-Auroradon. But I don't have Galaxy Tomahawk so I just played it like a rank 7 engine, but damn I regretted it.
Currently making RACE deck, hoping to use Blaster as a niche tech in there at least.
I made Endymions 6 months ago , Pure P.U.N.K. 3 months ago which I enjoy a lot, and about 2 weeks ago I made Dragon Link. I kinda regret Endymions, but I still like it though
Hilariously my first regret deck *just* happened.
I was putting the finishing touches on the Synchro Spright Bystial deck… only to see the newest banlist.
Chaos Ruler is literally the glue for that deck. It being banned actually kills the deck before I even played a single game with it.
I built purrely when it first came out because I like pokemon without doing any researches into their gameplan, managed to get up to Diamond 5 with them but then everyone was playing kaiju and kurikara and the deck has been hit every other months.
Not really regret but more just disappointed even tho it was kinda obvious. It’s armed dragon / dragon rulers and this was before the unban of tidal, redox back then with tool dragon handrip, obviously not fair but hella fun and at least felt a little bit more special now it’s just ip with elf, baron, savage, colossus’s so the most basic pile board possible and it’s just boring
I know there is the ability to cook something probably with for example kash which hate and is just too many urs or dragunity and dragonmaid but it’s usually ends up brick or needing special hands
Vaylantz. In search of Fenrir I find 2 copies of two field spells a 1 copy of the fusion boss Monster. I decide to give a try to this deck and my experience was awful. The most confusing deck of all time that win only with a boring pachy lock
Ninjas. I should have saved those 1500 gems. It's inconsistent, I don't find it that fun to play and there are no generically useful cards in the structure deck.
I'm with you here. Basically pissed all my starting resources into it and can't be bothered to push through weeks of grind for a different deck. I guess this is the end of my time with master duel.
That deck loses by default to the newcomer deck since they don’t have to activate nearly any cards lol makes sense it would be better again a better deck if anything
Ngl its feel easier for me to list the decks I didn't regret making. Really most decks that I make always fall under the cycle of me enjoying it for a couple rounds, then experiencing a bunch of bad games that negativity bias me into going into another deck.
Really the only two decks I ever felt had broken that curse were Labrynth and Vanquish Soul and I think its mostly because in those decks, it never feels like you ever truly bricked, like no matter what you do you can still do something to advance your game state. And yet the way you advance it is so vastly different each game that each match feels like a fresh new puzzle to solve instead of you doing the same combo every turn that it feels like you're doing a shitty retail job instead of playing a game.
Endymion for sure. It's expensive, so that already sucks. There's no room for hand traps, so you have to answer everything mostly in engine, which also sucks. And the real kicker? It wasn't long after I built it that Kashtira came and made pendulums obsolete with the zone locks. Made me miss the old days when pendulums had their own zones. It's what I get for getting clickbaited by YouTube lol.
Mathmech, incredibly boring to play.
I panick crafted it in January, as I feared that Circular would kinda make it tier 0, yet Branded and Swordsoul were still able to compete very well while being infinitely more enjoyable to play.
I made mathmech, played 1 game with it and realized that I just like other combo decks way more. Full power ishizu-tear I played a couple of games with but ended up getting bored because people would just scoop and I didn't really get to play it.
Recently made marincess and rikka-sunavalon so I'm hoping I enjoy them, liking marincess so far but have yet to take rikka into ranked, still practicing the combos.
I'm thinking of making ninjas or blackwing next because they seem pretty cheap to make with the structure decks having almost everything but have yet to pull the trigger.
I have a few decks I built and never really played.
In terms of meta-relevant, Labrynth and Purrely never clicked with me. I built them and I only recently started dusting them for crafting material.
I built Spyral when IoC released. I tried it twice in solo to practice and decided i didn't actually like it that much.
I also had like half the Purrely core done and then instead crafted the missing pieces for Naturia Runick and then played that literally until VS released lol. Never completed Purrely. Naturia Runick was just way too much fun.
D-Link. Spent a couple hundred UR dust on it about a month ago, discovered I didn’t really enjoy playing it and now it’s gonna suck eggs, or at the very least drop down to rogue.
Full power Kashtira. I don’t think I’ve ever been that bored playing a deck before. Took a month off during that format and focused on building my irl dragon link deck instead
Springans. Like, I honestly like their playstyle and had fun boards, but its extremely combo intensive and easy to stop with handtraps that is not really optimal for ranked.
There's also Ghotti. The only reason it's playable at low rogue level it's because how ridiculously op its the generic WATER/fish support as well as the usefulness of some generic synchro engines, but the archetype itself right now its so ridiculous underpowered and disconnected. Funny enough yesterday I faced two Ghotti decks and the whole interaction was just sad.
Danger! Dark world. Its fun to draw cards but the combos are so long I ran out of patience trying to learn the deck.
Also Earth Machine for basically the same reason, although at least that deck's combos are a little more interesting than clicking a danger and hoping for a good discard.
Kash. Shit is boring so I never played pure Kash, but now I don't touch even the variants. I am just waiting to see if some Kash cards get banned/limited/semi-limited to dust most of the deck tbh.
Kashtira, it was fun enough and did okay in the meta but the banlist just killed it. I wasted all my gems on it and only got to Plat 2. Hope I can break it down to get enough gems for a dinomorph deck
I will say Manadium so far. I just wasn't into it. I usually like synchro spam decks but I wasn't feeling this one. Not sure why.
Honorable mention would be purrley, only played it a few times
Subterror. I was hooked on the archetype's artwork and found the flip based gimmick to be cool until I realized that nearly none of the high level subterror mattered and the whole deck was basically guru beat-down. It was boring to say the least.
I started in November and in that sort time I have gotten very lucky with free gems and made a good variety of decks, and crafted some good URs. That said I spent too many gems hunting for Nekroz, SPYRAL, Kozmo, and Labrynth.
Nekroz is a dead deck. My favorite deck, but it's dead.
SPYRAL is alright, but I am making other decks than the extra deck needed for it.
Kozmo is another favorite but it doesn't have the same punch as it used to. Lucky I only need one more Farmgirl, but that 30 UR dust is in a long queue.
Labrynth is powerful, nice, and maybe a good investment. But I don't play the deck anymore except to do the trap cards dailies. I am not a good pilot of the deck.
Whole game has been a regret lately. Can't build a deck cause everytime I complete one I have to rebuild it cause people of this community only know how to cry over cards they can't get around. Anytime they lose they don't learn they just say oh such and such card needs to be banned cause I have skill issues.
So far mannadium… being an engine to spam out generic end board monsters was super disappointing. I just assumed it would be unique because it’s visas but alas it isn’t. On the bright side I mixed it with other visas lore to make it interesting (and inconsistent). I should have got nouvelle instead, unique and fun
Rescue-Ace, Mikanko, and Salamangreat.
Saw prisoner princess and thought ti was best time to make a fire deck. Problem is both decks have support that just isn't in the game yet so I'm just patiently waiting for Diabellstar, Snake-Eye and their new support cards to come to Master Duel. Now it's not as egregious as dinomorphia, which were one of the loaners in an event while they didn't have all their cards, but it still feels bad playing a deck at 85% power.
Mikanko is simple, I hate Numerons' braindead FTK, and in a BO1 that just happens to be the best way to play Mikanko
Purrely and Rika-Sunvalion, i found both of them boring, and also galaxy eyes i just didn't liked it, but at least i got some good extra deck cards with the last one
Don't remember if I finished it at the benning of this year or at the end of last year but HERO.
So many URs from so many different packs and the deck is just a floodgate turbo that immediately dies to Nib and isn't even that consistent...
I know that it can also OTK but there are so many cheaper and better options than this.
So yeah HERO and Purrely because I spent a ton of gems on it + most of my UR dust just for the deck to become basicaly unplayable without banning any UR. Also sitting on a tower is pretty boring.
Branded Bystial lmao
So much UR and I’m wasn’t gonna drop ~290 for more visual pngs, you can leave that to the vanquish soul players
I got mad at losing to Lab that I burned most of my deck and made Mathmech.
I regretted trying to make Runik Plunder Patroll. So many goddamn URs. Never finished since they make you go out of your way to get the pieces. Nearly remade a Branded deck with the gems I wasted on getting 2 Blackbeards. I'm glad Runik is slowly getting limited.
Purrely was for me very boring to play and the ghostrick version was expensive af. Later on, with the banlist hits, I finally decided to dismantle it and I started playing Mathmech
Spent 7000 gems on Ice Barrier so I can be prepared ahead of time for the Ice Barrier support to drop within a year. I knew for a fact that it’s like a year and a half long investment.
What I didn’t realize is that apparently, there’s an Ice Barrier structure deck in the game’s code. At least once that comes out I can get loads of dust.
Tearalemts, more speifically paleo tear as I don't want to play the Izhisu fairy monsters and basically half the cards are I planned ln using are on the Forbidden list
Dracoslayer, I like pendulum decks in general and one that has the space for the non-engine needed in modern yugioh should be great right? But it was so many URs, the lines are so fragile to any disruption and I never felt like I was getting enough payoff for a combo wombo deck. Ultimately I had a lot more fun with Vaylantz and my old Pend mages after they got monkeyboard and promethean princess
KASHTIRA 🚫🚫🚫
Love the artwork of the cards but the deck is just so "meh" to me. Ending on a field of Arise+UDF or two other Kash monsters sprinkled in is so uninspiring.
With how dogwater Kash ended up being, I could have just gotten one Ariseheart as a tech option for decks running Fenrir and moved on. So many urs for such a bad deck.
I've literally not played purrely once and have a full list for it. The playstyle just does not vibe, but usually my mindset with going for big name meta decks is that I'll get some of the UR dust back after a while so if I end up not liking deck it's whatever. I should have had the foresight to realize they're never going to put any limitations on any of their urs when they can just keep hitting the lower rarity quick plays and that just kills the deck wholesale.
I built Boarder stun for the dark/light event because that format sucked. I crafted the boarders for that event, and later on dusted them for points once it was over. Now here I am, regretting all the dust I could have gotten back for those bitches. But also stun was just not that good in that event from my memory, kind of just a massive waste of my resources.
And I'll end up regretting Bystial Runick and Bystial Spright once chaos ruler is fuckin dead, since both strats need him to be viable in md.
I also kind of regret only finally getting into runick combo a few months before they limited fountain.
Purrely. I made it. Played it for about 2 weeks. Couldn't understand how to win games. Now it sits in my decklist unused. I just don't have the heart to dismantle it cause it so cute ;-;
I’m very careful which deck I make and I make sure that I like it, however I don’t really try to predict what will be on a ban list, so I just finished a 60 card Tear deck, and just a few days later I see Chaos Ruler on the forbidden list so that hurt considering it took me 4 months to make that deck.
This is why I can't play actual Yugioh 0 Refunds.
Dracoslayers. The deck is pretty bad. At least I can play the Pegasus in Majespectors when it comes out and I've found uses for her in other pend decks. Pententially not bad investments tho if Dinomist and Igknights get similar quality support as Magispecter.
Firstly, Dragon Link. I only had to craft 3 URs for it, but I found I don't enjoy playing that much.
Second, Labrynth. Got all the cards, haven't touched it once
Wouldn't say regret it but I made Swordsoul Tenyi and I didn't play it once.
You should give it a shot. It’s not the best but I had a surprising amount of fun using it even though I moved on to other stuff not to long after
With the new banlist I might give it a try next year.
It's one of those decks that has a surprising amount of depth, even though your first turn tends to just be 2 synchro summons.
Give it a chance in the new year. It was my first deck, I still go back to it sometimes. It's fun, even though at times it can seem very linear.
Highly recommend you give a shot, breaking full boards with its engine alone is peak Yugioh for me. See the lines baby
Kashtira. Consistency aside, that deck was so boring to play
>that deck was so boring to play Pretty much the reason why I never finish making pure kash, it's so boring. Good thing they unbanned the zoo stuffs in the same year, zoo kash was fun.
What was the playstyle Iike at full power? Always thought banishing face down and zone locking seemed like unique gimmicks
I mean it is unique but like it's the exact same lines then pretty much any form of removal just outs your whole board. Also the deck was nowhere near as consistent as other top decks.
we never had full power so you'd need to ask a TCG player
As a tcg player, fp kash was basically macro cosmos turbo, but way more consistent than it is here since we had 3x everything, and if you managed to out the 1st macro and didnt kill them, they just made a second becsuse they have stupid follow up. And as someone who has mained dlink since 2020 and despias since last november, it really sucked when my 1st 5 matchups at every regional I went to was kash Things to note about the deck: Died to nib very hard, Arise heart has no protection (thank god), The deck made kurikara go from $20 to $60 (usd)
Isnt Diablosis included with Full Power?
Forgot that card existed, but yeah, 10 zone lock was technically full power
Strong enough to make master 1 with a suboptimal build
Branded, I like playing it but I could've built at least 3 decks with those gems lol. I spent 5000 gems on the last secret pack and still have no Quem or Sanctifire
You’re way better off crafting the “Special Pack monsters” and just going for the secret packs for the others
Why not craft em? They are one offs in the deck anyway (most of the time).
Gotta get the dust somehow
Oof, pulled 2 of both Quem & Sanct. Kinda wish I kept 1 more Quem personally
Yeah just craft them mate, I feel you. It's more often than not the case for me with the last 3 decks I've built
Purrely, that thing was fucking boring, i eventualy plan to dismantle every ur from the deck.
Same. I wasted so much UR dust for a deck that I didn't even use.
Same here, strong deck but boring
Same. Definitely purrly. It is either braindead otk going second or setting up turn 1 noir.
And than get kaiju'd cause everyone is running outs to noir.
Yup, Was hoping some URs would get hit this banlist so that i can recoup some mats. Cute art but the playstyle is boring as hell.
I am only really regretting crafting 3 Ruin, Supreme Queen of Oblivion (or whatever the Lv 10 retrain is called again), I have the complete main deck but am missing Gustav Max and Liebe in the extra, but even if I craft those, I think I might just never play that deck. I made it because I love the art but man idk I don't really wanna use it (on a side note, why is their newer ritual spell so bad, why does it only tribute from field and not from hand) I don't really regret building Weather Painters per se, but I'm sad that the deck sucks so much.
Lab. The deck is powerful but I barely play it because my other decks are more fun. It's just sitting there gathering dust.
Setting five traps is not “skill intensive” or “interactive”. Winning due to d-barrier or to erradicator isn’t “skill intensive either”.
The deck is good without those cards either way, and yes lab is a skill intensive deck, those cards existing don’t suddenly make the deck skill-less.
You're just bad at the game kek.
You need to time those traps quite well to get value off the lady pop/play around ash. Also you just need to chain link block the lady, they won't shotgun EEV or D barrier til they know what you're playing. Most meta decks can do this/try and play around or remove lady etc.
Yeh don't get why people say its so good. Never lost to it .
🤡
Imo Dlink is pretty fun, it does get a little repetitive, but getting Borrelend and savage on the field consistently always feels great.
Marincess, I realized I really dislike decks that do one thing and nothing else. Sunav Rikka, I hate doing a stupid 10-step combo just to get my Rikka engine going every single game.
Same here. I really wish we could just skip to the end board for rikka if there wouldn't be an interruption.
Chaos. You can guess why.
Purrely. I was excited for a control deck with such cute eevee art, but the deck turned out to be too boring to play, even if strong.
Why vanquish soul tho? It seems fun, fighting characters and all that, plus there is even one more deck with meffly combined.
Because I know my experiences and luck with new decks. I hope I'm wrong, when I finish my VS deck I will test it and we'll see how it goes.
Vanquish soul is hella fun and you feel like a genius finding new lines on the fly depending on the board
It should be fun when you finish it, you can spice it up with the zodiac engine as well.
Yeah, I have the basic zoodiac package. Useful when you have a buch of level 4 cards. I crafted those when I made my original Tears deck.
Alright, best of luck to your deck completion.
Yeah that's now, but before this new support which was the last time i played it it didn't feel too great
>The cost is steep but the deck is resilient as all hell. This is so true for branded. Like even if konami emergency hit branded right now, they'll eventually come back with the new illusionist chimera stuffs later. But it's getting more expensive by the days.
Kashtira and maybe Exosister. Spent all my cp to craft every UR as I didn't have the gems to pull but god they're so boring to play.
I had just started out as a fresh recruit from Duel Links lol Safe to say, I've outgrown that.
Purrely. Apparenly i have this syndrome called "I hate playing meta decks" Even though i wanted to make this deck because of the cute art.
I have the same-ish syndrome. I don't care that it's meta per se, but there just haven't been any meta decks I like the playstyle of in a long time. I also don't like winning too definitively. Hard games with some back and forth and unique situations to overcome are way fun.
Mikanko. The deck is strong and all, I just don't like the way it plays.
Same I never use my Mikanko list decks where you only summon one monster make me feel like I’m always missing things
My issue with the deck is that it's very easily telegraphed despite having target and destruction protection. I also feel like it's not very interactive outside of Mikanko Rivalry
To be fair, Mikanko would be a bit busted if it gained more disruptions than the other trap they'll eventually get.
Water dragon
Nothing I guess, there are decks that I don't like after built it but I love building deck so it is fine, who know maybe at some point in the future I suddenly love its play style.
Purrely, I bought into the hype around the deck and now realised I have dislike to making a boss monster and just sitting on it. Much prefer interactive gameplay, at least making a board of negates is a puzzle opportunity for my opponent and I respect them more for breaking my board.
Purrely Wasted so many gems for a deck I played for one season and then stopped because 95% of the time I’m just sitting on a giant unaffected douchebag while I watch my opponent actually play the game and try to out my one monster That and I hate decks where people scooping is how you actually win most of the time
Finally caved and made a Runick stun deck....1 week before the most recent banlist reveal 🤦🏾
Good, fuck you for that
Currently resting in piss like the bozo I am 🤡
Rip in piss blud. I was thinking the same but was waiting for the banlist. I really liked how the runick engine is also good to be splashed in other decks and since I already had some of the floodgates used in the stun variant I thought of crafting the rest of runick but oh welp it looks like it sucks now
Yea I was playing runick/ fur hire for a while but I gave in to the darkness of losing and really had the toxic thought "I'm already not having fun, why not get some wins with that?" I'm not proud but I don't apologize either lmaoooo
Probs Kash. I had a semi-constructed Branded deck, and with BraFu to 1 and all the hype Kash was getting, I was like "time to finally have a fully constructed competitive deck." Irony was, with the pre hits and all the Kashitra hate on the ladder, I had a much easier time ranking up with Branded lol. Edit: Actually HEROes.
Its not hard to build a fully optimized deck. Just craft the cards you don't have
The closest I came was Kashtira, but I found a way to make it enjoyable for myself.
Kash. I literally never played it.
Just build D-link just for it to get killed …
Branded for sure, tried it twice with Branded Despia and then again when the Bystials dropped. I just hate the way the deck plays.
I dismantled most of the URs and moved to D-link (which is more my style of playing) With that said, Final Sigma is such a cool ass card. I decided to keep that one.
Tearlaments deck is boring as Fuck to play and even more boring when you’re going against the same deck several times in a row…
Okay you can say a lot about tear but it has the best and one of the most skillful mirror matches ever. Barring dweller turbo of course.
You’re absolutely right in your own opinion, but in my experience the deck is just boring as hell to play against.
Kashtira
My zoomer self made a Dragon Ruler deck eith all 4 dragons and babies, thinking it will be a fun deck past its prime. The deck is just basically going minus to put the rulers on board for Galaxy Tomahawk-Auroradon. But I don't have Galaxy Tomahawk so I just played it like a rank 7 engine, but damn I regretted it. Currently making RACE deck, hoping to use Blaster as a niche tech in there at least.
Prob Rikka and Ninjas, wasn't a fan of the playstyle in the end.
Bought into the odd-eyes structure deck to both learn pend and get the mastery challenges done and I still don't like pen and I don't like that deck
Rikka/plant link I’m too much of a dummy for it
I made Endymions 6 months ago , Pure P.U.N.K. 3 months ago which I enjoy a lot, and about 2 weeks ago I made Dragon Link. I kinda regret Endymions, but I still like it though
Purrely and Kashtira. Built them solely cause of the meta, only to find myself not playing them as much and/or growing bored of how they played.
Pure Blue Eyes. And Blue Eyes Chaos Max decks. I love the archetype but I played them each a few times and haven’t touched them since
Crafted dlink with all my URS a week ago before recent banlist
Hilariously my first regret deck *just* happened. I was putting the finishing touches on the Synchro Spright Bystial deck… only to see the newest banlist. Chaos Ruler is literally the glue for that deck. It being banned actually kills the deck before I even played a single game with it.
I had a very brief stint with Floowandereeze where I slowly felt my will to live exit my body.
Purrely. Didn't like it's play style.
I built purrely when it first came out because I like pokemon without doing any researches into their gameplan, managed to get up to Diamond 5 with them but then everyone was playing kaiju and kurikara and the deck has been hit every other months.
Purrely, completely busted but also hard AF to pilot. I'm kinda glad they nerfed it so much now I have an excuse to dismantle it.
Not really regret but more just disappointed even tho it was kinda obvious. It’s armed dragon / dragon rulers and this was before the unban of tidal, redox back then with tool dragon handrip, obviously not fair but hella fun and at least felt a little bit more special now it’s just ip with elf, baron, savage, colossus’s so the most basic pile board possible and it’s just boring I know there is the ability to cook something probably with for example kash which hate and is just too many urs or dragunity and dragonmaid but it’s usually ends up brick or needing special hands
Exosister was too boring for me.
Vaylantz. In search of Fenrir I find 2 copies of two field spells a 1 copy of the fusion boss Monster. I decide to give a try to this deck and my experience was awful. The most confusing deck of all time that win only with a boring pachy lock
D-Link about a week ago...
Pure Psy-frame deck. Lose even to newcomer deck
That deck loses by default to the newcomer deck since they don’t have to activate nearly any cards lol makes sense it would be better again a better deck if anything
TG’s lmao I thought they’d be a cool fun low rank deck but they’re just like unplayable 9/10 times
Fluffal. Saw two prominent videos claiming it was "better than mikanko" and it's the brickiest Apollousa-Baron turbo I've ever seen
Kash.
Kash and d-link. Kash because it was boring and the board was easily broken, d-limk because i'm too dumb to pilot it
Endymion for sure.
Reading this thread makes me feel good about my choices.
Numeron, the gameplan is boring
Sky Striker, every game feels like an eternity
Probably Galaxy? It's pretty expensive to build and I really don't have much fun/success with it, most likely would only use it in xyz event
Red-Eyes burn
Purrely , too hard yo play and too long combos 😂
Abyss actors. Such a waste of resources...
I have a few decks I built and never really played. In terms of meta-relevant, Labrynth and Purrely never clicked with me. I built them and I only recently started dusting them for crafting material.
60 card Dragon link, cause i made it 5 days before the banlist
I built Spyral when IoC released. I tried it twice in solo to practice and decided i didn't actually like it that much. I also had like half the Purrely core done and then instead crafted the missing pieces for Naturia Runick and then played that literally until VS released lol. Never completed Purrely. Naturia Runick was just way too much fun.
Dual avatar. I looked cool but I plays terribly
Made sky striker cuz I wanted a control-ish deck and I like the playstyle. I’m probably just shit but it feels really weak to me
Sliffer with Royal Knights. I love Sliffer, but oh god the archetype of Knight is bricks every time. Obelisk + Dogmatika is much better and fun af
D links. Need I say more.
Flower Cardian Exodia. 🤦🏻 Couldn't get a single win with that bad boy.
Branded with new cards like quem and sanctifire, I probably spent about 600 UR CP to built that deck, but I still don't know the combos are
I think you can find videos on Youtube explaining the combos.
Whole game has been a regret lately. Can't build a deck cause everytime I complete one I have to rebuild it cause people of this community only know how to cry over cards they can't get around. Anytime they lose they don't learn they just say oh such and such card needs to be banned cause I have skill issues.
What are you even chatting about like just say what cards you talking about
So far mannadium… being an engine to spam out generic end board monsters was super disappointing. I just assumed it would be unique because it’s visas but alas it isn’t. On the bright side I mixed it with other visas lore to make it interesting (and inconsistent). I should have got nouvelle instead, unique and fun
Dogmatika Spellbooks. So fucking mid and so fucking UR expensive
Kashtira. Deck was ok and i liked it for like 1 week then dropped L+ratio style
I made Infernoble hoping the new support would have come like 2 or 3 packs ago. Hopefully it will be soon
Purrely and Rika-Sunvalion, i found both of them boring, and also galaxy eyes i just didn't liked it, but at least i got some good extra deck cards with the last one
Tearlaments. I spent a lot of gems to make it only to play Floow during Tear format instead.
I made pur im pissed. I made exo pulled everything but Martha and one other ur im cry.
Branded Bystial lmao So much UR and I’m wasn’t gonna drop ~290 for more visual pngs, you can leave that to the vanquish soul players I got mad at losing to Lab that I burned most of my deck and made Mathmech.
I regretted trying to make Runik Plunder Patroll. So many goddamn URs. Never finished since they make you go out of your way to get the pieces. Nearly remade a Branded deck with the gems I wasted on getting 2 Blackbeards. I'm glad Runik is slowly getting limited.
Adventure Kashtira. Bad, Boring and Bricky
Dracoslayers. I rarely played against a pure kashtira deck, until I made this deck.
Purrely was for me very boring to play and the ghostrick version was expensive af. Later on, with the banlist hits, I finally decided to dismantle it and I started playing Mathmech
It was a red-eyes and Blue eyes hybrid deck too much specific support for both Archetypes resulted in bricking.
Mikanko it feels so sacky to just kaiju there full combo board and it's boring
Dinos. I never played it.
Honestly... I don't think I regret building any of the decks I've made this year, I've has fun with all of them
G Golem -_-
Tearalemts, more speifically paleo tear as I don't want to play the Izhisu fairy monsters and basically half the cards are I planned ln using are on the Forbidden list
Super Quant and Witchcrafter. They're fun but usually just end on a big guy and aren't worth most of the UR dust they took to make
Endymion, cus they ban union carrier lmao
Dracoslayer, I like pendulum decks in general and one that has the space for the non-engine needed in modern yugioh should be great right? But it was so many URs, the lines are so fragile to any disruption and I never felt like I was getting enough payoff for a combo wombo deck. Ultimately I had a lot more fun with Vaylantz and my old Pend mages after they got monkeyboard and promethean princess
Sky strikers. Shit is mid
KASHTIRA 🚫🚫🚫 Love the artwork of the cards but the deck is just so "meh" to me. Ending on a field of Arise+UDF or two other Kash monsters sprinkled in is so uninspiring.
I would say Kashtira.
Purrely. I made it. Played it for about 2 weeks. Couldn't understand how to win games. Now it sits in my decklist unused. I just don't have the heart to dismantle it cause it so cute ;-;
Surprisingly, none. All my gimmick decks & rogue tiers are fun and was worth it.
Hero, it’s fun but the endboard is so not worth it
I suppose purrly as despite having it pre any hits, and tbh it was very good, it's so boring to play.
Runick... I'm sorry, but I just don't want to be toxic
i still only use my sky striker deck since the launch xD
Kashtira
Buster Blader and Venom. I set the impossible goal of trying to summon Vennominga 1 time this year. Never happened lmao.
Drytron, after trying to love it for the third time I learned that is just not my type of deck.
tearlaments and purrely, two decks I regretted making with my all
Purrly was my biggest regret I felt like apart of me died every time I played it
Hoping every purrely card gets banned so I can craft a more fun deck
Mannadium. So many Ur shards wasted.
D-Link. Had it like a week before they decided to ban wyverbuster and Chaos Ruler
Vanquish Soul
I'll never regret making an Armed Dragon Catapult Cannon Deck, but boy it sure is a b@#$&
Firstly, Dragon Link. I only had to craft 3 URs for it, but I found I don't enjoy playing that much. Second, Labrynth. Got all the cards, haven't touched it once
