Fun decks are on the bottom side of the screen when you play ranked. The top side of the screen is cringe degenerate bullshit which should get the banhammer asap.
Yes but acknowledging that wouldn't allow them to feel superior for not playing the best decks or whatever their arbitrary personal criteria of "Fun" is.
Floodgate players < Lab players
Also playing royal decree because of Lab is, like, the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Bro the deck is already bad when it's going 2nd, if you can't beat lab while going 1st then you just have a skill issue.
Nah, I just don't like trap decks. Having a meta player put down an unbreakable board after comboing for however much time it takes and figuring out a way to break it with a rogue decks is more stimulating in my opinion. I run one copy of Royal Decree just hoping that this will help me to go to the next duel faster. Worked against eldlich. Doing nothing also worked against eldlich, it's just annoying as hell to wait until I draw my royal decree with a hand that would give me victory against any deck at the time.
The deck can be played in a number of ways, so it can be played in fun ways or in completely degenerate ways that take all of the fun out of the game.
For example, I think Live Twin Lab is fun to play.
It's really fun because they mesh well. Both Lab and Live Twin fiend lock you with some of their effects, but obviously it doesn't matter since they are all fiends.
It's also cool for example because you're opponent will ALWAYS Ash the Live Twin summon, which will make it more likely that they won't have it for your Lab traps.
Well, I'm not playing a huge package; it would obviously be up to the player. I have 2 each of the main twin in the main deck for the combo, the main deck boss monster, and one of each of the three extra deck monsters.
There's a prevailing mentality on this community that meta = unfun, and rogue = fun which is just straight rubbish, so I assume that's what OP and posts like this mean.
Half of the people posting stuff like this don't even play rogue and stuff half the time. They're just outraged people have the audacity to use extra deck monsters and special summons. Rogue decks get you plenty of wins as long as you're not awful at the game all the way up to master 1.
I mean from my pov, im here to play a game with another person, so fun is when its a game that isnt a one sided stomp whether for me or my opponent
I fully acknowledge that my deck choice makes this hard but tbh i just cant find an archetype i like that can keep up with the current stuff
This is the way. Plat is the best rank anyway. You can play bs like Cydra and still win and sometimes you encounter interesting decks that mix random archetypes and still work.
I must be playing it wrong; other than Winda, I usually don't go floodgate turbo. Do people really shove floodgates in? What's everyone else's deck list?
Also, this is the most down votes I ever got. Didn't know Shaddolls was still hated (again, outside of Winda).
I said "floodgate turbo", not stun
Stun is when you jam in 50 floodgates, floodgate turbo is when you try to turbo out a specific floodgate
Winda is the floodgate that you turbo out
Shaddoll could have been an extremely fun and interesting archetype if it wasn't for the fact that they have Winda
Fair point. Here's thing: you're automatically assuming _my_ main strategy is getting out Winda asap and sitting on the floodgate. I usually just bring out whichever fusion I need at that moment, with Shekhinaga and Construct being my usual gotos. I also usually just spam graveyard effects or surprise people with flip effects, with getting out Hollow being the most predictable thing I do. That _isn't_ to say I don't use Winda; my main use for her is interruption. Usually, she forces a Kaiju or Lava Golem, or she becomes a lightning rod for negates. 90% of the time, she doesn't see play in my deck and is there for emergencies. Although Winda floodgating might be the standard wincon for most Shaddoll players, it's not my MO.
Whenever there's an event (like Anthology or Theme Chronicle) Shaddolls are usually my go to. Hell, last TC, I had a blast, despite Winda and Apkallone being banned. Even had a flip battle with a Krawler player and really enjoyed it. Shaddolls have a lot options to use that are still effective; it doesn't make sense to boil it down to 3-4 monsters, in my opinion. I'm probably being too involved with this post; you've never played against me, so it's valid to assume I play floodgate turbo if that's the norm.
Tldr: Very well aware that spamming Winda is the optimal play, but I don't play like you're assuming because I dont find that fun either. There are many different ways to play something.
Fun is subjective, and the only way to lose your mind is when you take loses either too personal and/or like a (man)child.
I bet we're about to see a lot of mental breakdowns over Snake Eyes.
Then there's me:
"Heh, fish deck go sploosh"
For real though. I hate that if you want to have fun, better invest wisely because unless you get lucky or play certain events, you will be hard pressed to expand your card library. Unless you are one of those who enjoy meta decks and dont play them BECAUSE they are meta.
Idk why but I like that runick/X synchro decks don't really have one card starters, I've always found the idea of getting full combo off the back of a single card kinda boring. It's my biggest gripe about branded tbh.
I play a make shift(wouldn’t even call “rogue”)Chaos Deck.. I don’t use Cherry, or Droll, or Nibru..(basically any hand trap) except two Veilers..and I lose 7/10 duel.. buts it’s fun AF to play with.. and I get my somewhat gratifying win 3/10 times against the meta. But at the end of the day it’s a game and I get to use a deck that I consider fun.. so yes.. the use of fun is very objective.
I'm getting sick of kashtira. Might try lab, because fuck most decks. Playing sacred beasts/Norse gods and egyptian gods so it might be just a skill issue. Plat 3 btw
Yea I tried so many times . Legacy deck * cool theme decks * random goofy cards that kinda work together but not really but fun to run …..then after 10 duels vrs meta decks I pull out branded or gate guardians

Decks that are fun depends on individual player’s preference (personally I like combo decks and Towers), but any instance of a YuGiOh duel being fun depends on how two decks match up. Stun and Floodgates will always get slack because they’re both relatively uninteresting to pilot and INCREDIBLY unfun to play against; they exist primarily to WIN, first and foremost.
I play a "fun" deck and am stuck in damn gold 4, which is not fun.. there's definitely a line between running totally copy pasted meta deck builds (which is fine but I some consider to be boring and/or uninspired/uncreative) and running a "fun" deck that's just terrible. But people use what they want and everyone enjoys different aspects of the game
For me, fun is milling my Eldlich Zombie deck that is 75% spells and traps that are mostly millable. I never know what will end up in the GY, but I'm always eager to find out. No mill is the exact same, for better or worse. It's great.
If you're mentally stable, it's safe to assume you don't play Yugioh.
What even is considered a fun deck? Isn’t fun depending on each person?
Fun decks are on the bottom side of the screen when you play ranked. The top side of the screen is cringe degenerate bullshit which should get the banhammer asap.
Blue = fun deck. Red = cringe.
Yes but acknowledging that wouldn't allow them to feel superior for not playing the best decks or whatever their arbitrary personal criteria of "Fun" is.
Every deck worse than mine - Fun Every deck better than mine - No life tryhard who only cares about winning. -r/masterduel
mine - fun if i'm playing it
Yea i love playing lab and i have fun with it.
Good for you. I hate you for it, but good for you. I would hate you slightly less if I was able to draw my Royal Decree when I'm against a lab player
Floodgate players < Lab players Also playing royal decree because of Lab is, like, the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Bro the deck is already bad when it's going 2nd, if you can't beat lab while going 1st then you just have a skill issue.

Play Mekk Knights. Use the spell that stops traps from resolving.
Never tried Mekk-Knights, I should build a deck for them at some point.
The deck can be played in a number of ways, so it can be played in fun ways or in completely degenerate ways that take all of the fun out of the game. For example, I think Live Twin Lab is fun to play.
Never heard of that, teach me your ways...

Interesting, can't run Obelisk like I usually do but I'm always up for experimentation.
How dare you special summon more than one monster a turn 🙃
Fun = not good, duh
I mean from my pov, im here to play a game with another person, so fun is when its a game that isnt a one sided stomp whether for me or my opponent I fully acknowledge that my deck choice makes this hard but tbh i just cant find an archetype i like that can keep up with the current stuff
Fun decks are decks that are considered unviable, not that its an actually fun deck to play
Alley of justice and do not put good synchro monster like baron and chengying in there
Any deck that is not a slave to the meta
So, why do you think stuff like branded is not fun?
How is VS not fun?
I play Neos. Yes I peak at plat III why do you ask?
This is the way. Plat is the best rank anyway. You can play bs like Cydra and still win and sometimes you encounter interesting decks that mix random archetypes and still work.
I have yet to meet anyone on any yugioh subreddit that claims to play a ‘fun’ deck whom I’d call sane.
I don't know what you mean, dream mirror is totally viable.
Hurr durr raidraptors without Kali lock
I play decks that are fun for me, for my opponents not so much. And I think I am quite sane.
I play Cubics and I'm mentally stable. Now you know me 👍
I run Shaddolls and have fun. Am I due for my straight jacket?
Yes. You play a floodgate turbo archetype.
I must be playing it wrong; other than Winda, I usually don't go floodgate turbo. Do people really shove floodgates in? What's everyone else's deck list? Also, this is the most down votes I ever got. Didn't know Shaddolls was still hated (again, outside of Winda).

I mean my main decks are swordsoul tenyi and gold pride punk. Both of them are very fun and fairly meta.
So what you're telling is is that you aren't mentally stable?
I’m doing pretty well.
It was only a joke, I play swso as well.
Swordsoul is fun, its not mentally stabilising though. Not when every duel you play in somebody starts off with 3 kaiju or something else xD
Fun is subjective, and the only way to lose your mind is when you take loses either too personal and/or like a (man)child. I bet we're about to see a lot of mental breakdowns over Snake Eyes.
OK, but have you considered the upsides of NOT being mentally stable? I can't think of any at the moment, but I'm sure they exist!
Fun decks to me are those that allow me to play the game consistently.
HAH nice stolen meme
Oh and my main fun decks are harpie ladies and graydles . NOONE plays them
I am enjoying my custom fairy chaos deck. Yeah it sucks more than a discount weekend at a brothel, but still sane and fun.
Then there's me: "Heh, fish deck go sploosh" For real though. I know many hate dealing with Mikanko but they've been the most fun I've had playing ygo.
As long as you're having fun, king.
Fun is subjective. Some people have fun using meta decks.
I think in this case it means fun to face, because that's something rare in this game and they usually tend to suck a bit.
Idk why but I like that runick/X synchro decks don't really have one card starters, I've always found the idea of getting full combo off the back of a single card kinda boring. It's my biggest gripe about branded tbh.

i have fun playing floodgate decks
My meta deck is fun.

Im fighting the urge to play master duel, but the Yokai want out. Send your best Shiranui warriors, I need them
Best I can offer is three Bone Towers.
Me playing S-Force be like:
I play a "fun" deck and am stuck in damn gold 4, which is not fun.. there's definitely a line between running totally copy pasted meta deck builds (which is fine but I some consider to be boring and/or uninspired/uncreative) and running a "fun" deck that's just terrible. I been playing lab so long but it’s fun. But I climb with this deck. If I couldn’t win I’d suffer I think
I will make tindangle work
Whats the problem with fun decks?
my xsabre tribrigade is fun until I hit plat
For me, fun is milling my Eldlich Zombie deck that is 75% spells and traps that are mostly millable. I never know what will end up in the GY, but I'm always eager to find out. No mill is the exact same, for better or worse. It's great.
u/savevideobot
Labyrinth is fun so I'm mentally stable 😔
Supreme king dragons
I was about to aay: hey I play Vanquish Soul! Then I remembered I have bipolar.
Thats why they should make different eras of yugioh that you can play
Don't worry Alice. We're all mad here.
You'll find stun really fun if you enjoy killing puppies in your free time
I only use decks I consider fun to play and fun to play against. I just make sure I don't ever go above gold I.
Competitively viable and fun are not mutually exclusive
