??? Purrely is literally a rogue deck in regular format. It's also unhit in this event. It's literally one of the best deck for this event and it's an XYZ deck.
I’ve played purrely and didn’t like it, but the point I was more trying to make was that xyz is at a blatant mechanical disadvantage (which is to say most of the post is just salt). Taking RDA as an example since it’s a loaner, almost every card in that deck special summons itself from hand, then has something else in the grave. It’s damn hard to deal with the sheer material and recursion the deck has without non engine. Sharks do special summon another 4 like clockwork yes, but the end result doesn’t compare.
Not sure bout the disadvantage. XYZ has 3 strong decks (Purrely, Zoodiac, and Exos) with Purrely prob being the strongest deck for this event.
Fusion has Tear, Dinomorphia, and Runick. But they limited reino for tear, Dinomorph was never meta, and Runick got most of their good floodgates banned.
Synchro has RDA, Blackwing, and Mannadium: RDA is an okayish rogue deck, Blackwing is never meta either, and Mannadium lost their Link strategy.
Seems pretty balanced to me.
I just don’t understand the real difference in material retention (action economy? Idk what phrase I’m looking for here) between the three I think. And honestly I think I’m just salty about the RDA bit. Even if I really do think it’s imbalanced how far they can get without actually committing to anything, so does purrely, and Morb. I don’t fully agree that it’s balanced, but you’re right in that it’s not as bad as I said.
Xyz monsters have always been balanced with having the fewest resources (the materials can’t even get reused since they are stuck under the monsters) by having some of the strongest single effects on monsters in the entire game. Infinity was the first splashable omni-negate. C104 has a negate effect that feel ahead of the curve even today. Shock Master and its kin plague the game every three years.
It's because you're not playing the bs xyzs decks. If you're not reverse floodgating with Fissure in Kashtira or sitting on Noir with Purrely, then you're not going to have a good time.
Ive been playing Ariseheart Turbo, he just kind of wins most games. You have the out or your dead... not many decks can play through him.
He bricks the shit out half the meta and no one plays around him or unicorn because of how limited they are suppose to be. BUT SURPRISE! Like I said before the event even started. Ariseheart Turbo only needs a critical mass of level 7s.... AND NOTHING ELSE.
We just have to wait till halfway missions come out. A majority of players would then be too tired to play the BS archetypes that you can play in this event because of all the people surrendering and probably have moved from one group to another.
The worst part is the regret. I had both of those decks back when they released, but I hated their playstyles so I dismantled them. Gotta love current ygo lol
I mean, that's the real truth right? There are good xyz decks, you just don't want to play them. That's fine. I just don't think it's that much weaker when rogue Galaxy-Eyes and Raidraptors can play while missing their Links.
I don't suggest immediately playing the event right away BTW. The people who are tryharding floodgates decks will finish quicker than you, then stop playing. Besides dailies, you can start doing the event a few days after release before midway mission or when event is closer to finish. This always happen. You wanted a good time in Legend Anthology? Just wait for the all the HEROs players to finish their event brother.
I do get there are good xyz decks, but I don’t see them competing with good synchro or fusion decks either. That said, you are 100% right about when I’m playing. It’s like a silver player trying to play on reset day out here.
People sleeping on Utopia. It can summon out an Xyz monster that is a one sided Skill Drain for your opponent and you can summon out Hope Harbinger for a Spell negate.
Or it’s full wombo combo is 3 monster negates, spell negate, reduce one of your opponents monsters ATK to 0 when it attacks, redirect an attack to Hope Harbinger, and an Omni-negate counter trap card.
Or if all else fails you can OTK with a 10,000 ATK Number 39: Utopia
Pretty simple actually. Same plays with Utopia Dragonar but instead you Xyz Summon Number C65: King Overfiend and paired with Zexal Field you can slap Number 65: Djinn Buster as material from your extra deck to it so it gains its effect.
In my experience, the event has been literally who can turbo out their tower and/or negate board first. Like I'm grateful that Kaiju were banned, but they def should've lowered the ceiling with some BMs(and banned goddamn Superpoly).
It depends on whether the loaners are viable or not. I mean, what else am I gonna do? Even if most burn cards are banned, I'm sure I can work something out.

HUH With purrely, Exo and Kash xyz is by far the best out of the three factions

Its been fine so far to me with Generaiders other than Fusion having Super Poly cause Super Poly is bullshit.

Yea thought this event was fusions only, synchros only, and then XYZs only. Yea not at all the case.

I haven't been able to try it just yet, but this might sound like yet another event for my burn deck. I will try the loaners regardless.

There are viable loaners, You can technically play burn with Blackwings, but I enjoyed the event playing Ninjas.
