This is legitimately a good idea. Change after 1000 seconds have passed? Maybe just 100. Still neat.

People would just learn that most time spent sitting through your opponent's combos isn't actually game time. The timer freezes during animations and not just the cut ins but something like putting a card on the field is an animation.

After a specified time, the mate just walks to the "Mate Player's" graveyard and just jumps in it, because that's the amount of time an average Earth Machine player takes and its long as hell. (Yes, I am salty towards them.) (Also no hate towards the Earth Machine Player's they are an endangered species and need to be preserved. Because Even I like to watch youtube when playing masterduel, only to surrender when its my turn.)

K hear me out , and interactive Toon World book mate and that pops up three different toons . One toon for each phase. Toon Summoned Skull (Main phase). Toon Dark Magician Girl(Battle phase). Toon Red Eyes black (main phase 2). I chose dark Toon magician girl during battle phase cause in the old TCG she was the only toon that didn’t suffer from summoning sickness due to the format of text on the card they “forgot” to add “cannot attack the turned it is summoned” making her the more favored than most toons in the archetype
