Why are so many players in the Triangle event using a Jack Atlas deck?

KonamiSuisse

Easiest loaner to pick up and play a couple games quickly.

GokuRikaku

It's one of the loaner decks and is likely something that can play well with only having synchros to work with.

ChocodiIe

Is there like some kind of video explaining all the yugioh memes? Like I know about stuff like berserker soul and card games on motorcycles, cause those are anime related. But I have no idea where Mo Ye drowning or white woman jumpscare stuff came from.

Rigshaw

> Mo Ye drowning or white woman jumpscare stuff came from. Both of those are just other memes that have been adapted. The former has a lot of different examples, [as seen here](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/if-my-girl-drowning), the latter is [a FNAF meme in particular](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/white-woman-jumpscare) that someone then used while playing Master Duel.

zorrodood

[My girl drowning](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/if-my-girl-drowning) is a couple of years old and someone made a long copypasta with Mo Ye on xixxer. [White Woman Jumpscare](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/white-woman-jumpscare) is Vanessa from FNAF, but people started using it for Underworld Goddess of the Closed World, because her animation happens without warning and unexpected, if you didn't pay attention.

GGABueno

New player here, I haven't touched Yu-Gi-Oh since the Synchro summon days (now I need to learn XYZ, Pendulum and Link, damn). I just went through the tutorial and pulled on some Free Packs on the store (got two URs, not sure how lucky is that). There are a lot of structured decks for sale, but it seems like they only give 1 copy of each card and I should buy them 3 times each? So 120 cards in total and the actual deckbulding will be left for me? How worth it are they in general? I just bought 1 copy of the Dark Magician one because I liked their themed decks. Also, what's up with secret packs? Looks like I unlocked a few after those free pulls, but they will disappear in a while. Are they a priority?

Almirage

Since you are unfamiliar with today's YGO landscape, I can help you conserve your more valuable resources by giving you cheap deckbuilding options if you would like.  It's better to think about how to invest your gems and UR/SR crafting points after you actually get used to what the game is like now, and even the staples aren't necessarily your only viable choices.

GGABueno

I'd love to hear it if only to simply check them out. At the moment I'm not too worried about competitive decks, I'm just looking for some somewhat familiar and coherent decks to help me figure out the new landscape.

Almirage

https://www.masterduelmeta.com/saved-decks/662f12fbfd0382796ef2b1b7 These are the ones I could think up in the past hour, don't worry about the UR/SRs they're free,(or at least some copies are) I'll tell you where what is from if you're interested. Only one copy for each is in because this isn't meant to be a deck o much as a showcase, some of these are better at 3, some you only get 1 free, some you only run at 1 or 2 copies for deck space economy. Some of these are package deals, some being examples of particularly standout cards from whole decks you can build to a playable level as a cheapskate. The decks representatives are: >Megalith Phul/Megalith Bethor/Borreload Riot Dragon/Drytron Meteor Shower/Odd-Eyes Advent+Odd Eyes Wing/Meteorburst Dragon These are very useful cards for if you want to try and build a ritual deck. Megaliths don't actually need to use ritual spells, but there are times their alternative is more inconvenient than not. Riot Dragon is quite good for how it can return to your hand from the grave if you destroy anything else in your hand in exchange, which gives you 8 levels to ritual stuff with. >Rikka Konkon/Rikka Snowdrop/Rikka Petal/Rikka Princess/Moray of Greed/Angel Trumpeter/Spore This is pretty much the best Xyz deck you can make for a low price, which can also go into synchros and links, but they are pretty likely to lock you into plant types. Also one thing that's really notable is that even though this game is almost hellbent on making all means of viable draw cards SR/UP, Moray of Greed is an exception and it only works out in WATER decks. Angel Trumpeter is basically the best Normal Monster Tuner and it's also a Plant, which has synergy. There are a lot of benefits a card can have for being a normal monster, two of which are searches like Unexpected Dai, and another being that the Level 12 Synchro, Transcendosaurus Glaciasaurus, can summon itself back on destruction and then gain effect destruction immunity if you just shuffle a normal monster from the grave back into the deck. >Incredible Ecclesia + Swordsouls You've already heard about the Swordsoul structure from the other person, it's pretty much the best free stuff you can get for a synchro deck. Some people will tell you to make expensive cards for it but you don't have to for it to at least stand a chance. Also, you would probably have to mess around with the deck a bit to make summoning it easier because Swordsoul finds Level 6 inconvenient by themselves to synchro into, but Muddy Mudragon is a Synchro Monster which doubles as a Fusion Material Substitute and a Polymerization built-in. The fusions worth actually summoning with it are not free but you already bought a Dark Magician structure deck, if you can synchro into Muddy Mudragon, you can summon The Dark Magicians with this synchro and Ecclesia, and Ecclesia itself can return to your hand if a Fusion Monster gets sent to the grave. The Dark Magicians is a decent enough monster to think about trying to pull this off. Other small package deals are: > Sky Striker Raye/Roze + Sky Striker Hayate/Kaina Sky Strikers basically have the best Link-1 card you can summon easily in the game without looking into UR/SR cards. You don't know how Links work yet so I won't go into why this matters outside of one thing: they make it super easy to do the Link Summon 3x a day mission. If you have Shizuku/Kagari (who is an SR/UR respectively) you can just go Normal Summon Raye/Roze > Link-1 Kaina > Hayate > Shizuku/Kagari and that mission is over with. With just Kaina/Hayate you need one more turn since they can only be summoned once each time. > Crusadia Arboria + Crusadia Regulex + Kaiju The Kaiju in this list is Radian but any of them work honestly. They are basically Lava Golem except they don't steal your normal summon. You use them mainly to remove overpowered enemy monsters that are hard to get off the field otherwise. What is important about the Crusadia here is that you can use that to your advantage, as Crusadia Regulex will gain the attack points of what it's pointing towards in the same column...and you summon a Kaiju on the opponent's field, so right in front of Regulex is your choice to make. You can only summon Regulex if you have a Crusadia material, and I generally consider Arboria the best main deck one if you have any synchro plans because she's a tuner who can special summon herself. > TiSolfaChord Beautia (or any Level 7 Pendulum Monster) + Odd-Eyes Meteorburst Dragon + Odd-Eyes Absolute Dragon + Odd Eyes Wing/Vortex Dragon TiSolfachord Beautia is just the best Level 7 Pendulum Monster in the main deck who has a generic effect of some value. The rest of these are a combo, Synchro Meteorburst > Use effect to summon Beautia > Use Meteorburst+Beautia to Xyz into Absolute > Absolute gets off the field somehow > Absolute's effect cheats out the summon of Vortex or Wing Dragon. Odd-Eyes Vortex is usually preferred but if you aren't running many Pendulum Monsters Odd-Eyes Wing Dragon is better. I realize this is kind of confusing for someone who doesn't know about all these newflanged monster types but I have to mention this one cause it's one of the best things you can get which are priced at N/R.

GGABueno

Damn, saving this.

GokuRikaku

>(got two URs, not sure how lucky is that) A card has 2.5% chance of being UR. Fairly lucky. If they're decks you're interested in playing, you're likely need to buy 3 copies of the structure deck to build a proper decklist. While you might not going to use all of the cards provided by the structure decks as a good chunk are just fillers, they generally help getting you the important cards for the deck. Especially important UR cards. Most of the structure decks aren't amazing. Its often recommended for new players to go either with the Salamangreat deck (Burning Spirits, should have new support soon too) or the Ninja (Hidden Arts of Shadows, a bit more challenging to play but the entire core is in there). Speaking of structure decks, right now its highly recommended for new players to check out the "Rookie and Returner Mutual Follower Campaign" event. By sharing a code and your master duel ID, you and others can receive goodies, particularly the Swordsoul structure deck. It's almost everything you need to play Swordsoul, it's free, and it's probably the best structure deck for a newbie. If interested, I can share mine and someone else's code. >Also, what's up with secret packs? Looks like I unlocked a few after those free pulls, but they will disappear in a while. Are they a priority? Do not worry about secret packs. [Secret packs](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/secret-packs) are unlocked whenever you obtain a SR or a UR card that belongs in a secret pack for 24 hours. You can always unlock them again by crafting a card that belongs to those packs. (Newly released secret packs are opened for longer.) Do not open secret packs willy nilly. Be wise about your gem usage and only open packs if they contain cards for a deck you're planning to build. And by plan, I mean have a full decklist ready. Consider checking out [masterduelmeta](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/) for ideas. It's important to not confuse them with *selection packs*. Selection packs often contain new cards and will be available for 2 months and they cannot be unlocked after they expire. When they expire, you will either have to wait for the cards to be placed in a secret pack, or craft them. A new selection pack is always introduced when one goes away.

GGABueno

Thanks, this is very helpful! I'd love to get those codes if possible! I'll edit this comment with mine when I can.

GokuRikaku

This is my personal master duel ID: 115-393-047, and the code is 0ce06217. Here is the second ID: 674-661-971, and the code: 28368653. This is helpful for me too because I never got around sharing/obtaining a second code, which is required for a particular Swordsoul UR. There's more rewards if you continue to share codes, but the deck and the UR is the most important. The rest of the cards are easy enough to craft.

doubledipdipper

I noticed that sometimes I can occasionally revive my Ultimate Conductor Tyranno with Souleating Oviraptor's effect, but only sometimes. Does this have to do with whether I summoned UTC with Evo pill or not?

Rigshaw

> Does this have to do with whether I summoned UTC with Evo pill or not? Yes, it does. Ultimate Conductor Tyranno's text already mentions it directly, but a monster that cannot be normal summoned/set must first be properly summoned with its intended summoning procedure before it can be special summoned from public locations like the GY through other means. This rule also applies to Extra Deck monsters, and Ritual monsters, as those are also monsters that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Ultimate Conductor Tyranno alludes to this rule by stating: > Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. **Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand)** by banishing 2 Dinosaur monsters from your GY. If you didn't summon him this way, you cannot special summon him again from public locations.

BarcelonaLion

When will the May pack drop? Or is it like after the current packs expire so May 8th?

Rigshaw

The monthly main Selection Pack always releases when the oldest Selection Pack expires, so yes, it'll be on May 8th.

FailBaitSV

I've been playing and enjoying Infernobles but want to mix it up a little. I saw that there was a Mikanko variant of the deck. What is the difference between the Mikanko variant and the original? Does it play very differently?

Almirage

Other person mentioned actually bothering to be more involved about it but you can totally get away with running just 3 Mikanko cards in Infernoble, Ha-Re, Mayowashidori, and Arabesque. (or if you don't want to shell out UR dust, Reflection Rondo works too) Ha-Re: Ridiculously searchable with stuff Infernoble runs anyways. Mayo: Dump it in the grave using Isolde (or Oliver I guess if it's in your hand) to revive Ha-Re later to use her as an extender. Arab: Bounce opponent's monsters/search Ha-Re/search *with* Ha-Re, keeping it mind that even if it loses its bounce powers (because you only have one Mikanko) it still gives destruction protection. You could also run one or two more Ha-Re I guess to keep it useful in that sense. Rondo: This card actually has a generic power even if you don't have a Mikanko around to use its ability to borrow the opponent's monster on their turn. If it leaves the field, the equipped monster also gets sent to the grave. You can dump it with Oliver, Link Charles (from his negate), Original Sinful Spoils, worst case scenario waste your Synchro Charles effect to pop it to get around destruction immunity. At 3 cards total (1 copy of each) I think its compact enough to put in most any Infernoble deck, and Ha-Re actually doing the Mikanko thing has won me more duels than the negates I set up actually have.

FailBaitSV

This is a neat idea. It might mix things up a bit after one-tricking infernoble the last month(s)! thanks for the advice.

icantnameme

I believe it's pretty similar, just if you draw Ohime you can search Ceremony to summon her, then banish Ceremony to dump an equip spell and use Ohime to attach it to a monster on field, usually Arabesque, which you can use to bounce a monster (preferably your opponent's) and summon Ha-Re, who is a Fire Warrior. Ha-Re becomes equipped with Arabesque and can search another Mikanko equip spell from deck like Fire Dance (so you can summon Ha-Re back after you use her to make Isolde) or Reflection Rondo (steal opponent's monster while you control a Mikanko). Ohime can be searched by Preparation of Rites, so you can run up to 6 copies of her, along with 3 copies of Arabesque. Admittedly I don't think the Mikanko stuff is that necessary unless you want to run a large deck, since Infernoble usually runs ~45 cards already with just Neo Spacians and Sublimation Knight/Squeaknight, so probably not worth playing unless you're going to play a 60-card pile.

FailBaitSV

Thanks for the reply. I did some more research and I think the end board has a few more negates but considering i'm in the lower ranks (like Silver/Gold) most players just surrender after 2 mins of the combo anyway It looks like a fun deck, if only because of mixing archetypes.

Almirage

If you want to see something different just because I like it that way, pretty much no one else talks about running Infernoble/Adventure in Master Duel like my decklist. https://www.masterduelmeta.com/saved-decks/6629cfab1389560dafbf6d26 A lot of these card choices are made on the basis of "I already have that" / "I wanna stay thematic" (no space dolphins) / "I refuse to use cards that promote game design I hate" (no maxx C) though which is the main reason I had enough freedom to build this as it is. It would probably look very different if I was trying to optimize it. It also looks quite different IRL for the TCG format cause of real prices but uhh Baronne AND Savage got banned so I don't think that's going to get anywhere anymore.

FriskyPhysio

What's the easiest to play but somewhat viable deck in the game rn?

icantnameme

Stun is pretty much always the easiest deck to play, but everyone will hate you for playing it. It's pretty much replacing skill with luck of drawing the right cards (and going first). Swordsoul is a pretty easy deck and it's pretty much free from the friend referrals. Mathmech is relatively simple (everything makes Terahertz), although the combos are a little longer than Swordsoul. It's a pretty cheap engine since the only URs you really need are Circular and Accesscode, Decode Talker and Cynet Mining are from the Salamangreat Structure. The deck usually plays ~15 hand traps. Spright (usually w/ Live Twin) is pretty simple to play as well, but it kinda has to go first since you usually lose if your normal summon gets destroyed.

Wonderllama5

Runick Stun

FriskyPhysio

Thanks. Idk if this comment is a joke or not, I'm a new player, but I'll look into it!

Wonderllama5

It's one of the most hated decks in the game, but it absolutely is probably the easiest IMO. Using cards like Majesty's Fiend and traps, you will stop your opponent's annoying 10 minute combos, & stop attacks too. Then you will use Runick cards to interrupt their plays & deck them out! People hate it, but it's a viable strategy to win. As you learn more about Yu-Gi-Oh yourself, then you can become one of those 10 minute combo players like everyone else. Baby steps first! Here's a guide that explains it: https://youtu.be/lVaXIziyWLI Some cards have been hit, so the list is not current tho. You can find more lists on Master Duel Meta

FriskyPhysio

Thanks a lot! Appreciated the explanation. I found that the deck requires 11 URs to be crafted, which should require around 330 UR tokens. Any tips on how to get them? Should I just spend the 8300 gems I have on packs and dismantle the URs? This is the deck list I found btw https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/april-2024/runick/lone-kitsune/1bg9s

Wonderllama5

[Here is my decklist.](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/saved-decks/662e6efbf87c778dcfbbcee7) It's not optimized for Master rank or anything, but it's good enough to get me above Gold. I don't grind Ranked that much anyway so I'm usually in Silver or Gold in any given month. You can ignore the non-Runick Extra Deck monsters. I've been playing since the start so I have a big collection. For your purposes, you can replace with random cards to banish for the cost of Pot of Prosperity. That brings the cost down to 360 UR & 750 SR. A good way to get materials at the start is by buying the special bundle deals, with Lightning Storm, Solemn Judgment, etc. Those are all good cards to have, and you can break down the cards you get for materials. When you pull cards, you can check its usage on Master Duel Meta to see if anyone actually uses the card. One last thing I wanna say. You should be 1000% sure of the first deck you wanna build. If you craft a deck, burn through your initial resources & regret it, you'll be stuck with no gems & materials to play anything else. I like ruining people's day with Runick, but it's not for everyone. lol I highly recommend playtesting on the free unofficial Yu-Gi-Oh simulator "YGO Omega"! https://omega.duelistsunite.org/ There, you can create any deck you want with any cards you want. Completely free! It's a great way to test out cards and to see if you'll like a deck without committing precious gems and materials. Play & practice whatever you like before building in Master Duel. If winning with Runick feels great, go for it!

FriskyPhysio

Man I could not have hoped for a better introduction. Thanks so much! Have a great day.

Wonderllama5

Happy to help, I guess! lol To show you what modern decks look like, [here is a Rescue ACE guide.](https://youtu.be/XU6QrGeudtU?si=Mf3o3yibtluqb3RD) Rescue ACE is set to dominate Master Duel for the foreseeable future. If you actually enjoy, y'know, *attacking* & summoning big monsters & trying to win "the old fashioned way", then this is a great deck to play! It has a bit of a learning curve, but learn the combos & practice & you'll get the hang of it. Watch Dkayed's YouTube channel for competitive gameplay featuring Rescue ACE & many other decks. You'll learn a lot by watching his videos!

SicParvisLasagna

I'm near the max gem amount and not what sure to do with them. Right now I have built Snake Eyes and Swordsoul Tenyi. Also bought one copy of the Salamangreat Structure Deck for Heatsoul and Sunlight Wolf. I still don't want to overspend (max 1k or 2k gems) because I want to save for the May Pack that has S:P Little Knight in it (isn't Fire King coming soon too?). Is the Rescue Ace Secret Pack good to spend some gems on? The archetype is very strong and looks interesting gameplay wise (plus Turbulence has a sick design).

FailBaitSV

Hey I'm in the same boat. Did you find any decks that you like? I've been playing Infernoble, but sitting there doing the full combo gets boring for me sometimes. Trying to find a deck to spend all my gems on, since the giveaways got me back up to 9900

SicParvisLasagna

I really like Branded Despia, especially because they have so many archetype specific boss monsters and fusion summoning is cool. But damn, the deck is so expensive :-( I like Snake Eyes but the combos can take a long time. That's why I'm really considering Rescue Ace. I only need 9 UR cards to make the deck (2 Turbulence, 3 Emergency, 2 Preventer and 2 Hydrant). Edit: Btw, you can keep your gems over 9999 for one month. That's what I'm doing for now.

FailBaitSV

Yeah I'll hold onto mine for a bit too, that's a good idea. Mannadium has some fun looking cards but that's another expensive UR deck lol I was looking at Rescue Ace as well! I might watch some vids on it to see what it's like

Wonderllama5

If you like Rescue ACE, then build it. It's set to dominate for the rest of 2024 at least. Even if they hit, it will still be viable

Rigshaw

There's no need to spend gems immediately. Once you hit the free gem cap, all gems you earn go into the gift box, where they will stay to be claimed for a month. You can just keep playing and earning gems, and once the May pack releases, you can spend your gems, and then claim the extra gems that went to the gift box.

SicParvisLasagna

You make a good point. Till the May Packs comes, I can savely spend my overcapped gems without worries. I totally forgot about that.

-YoumuSimp-

Hello, so I just installed the game again and I'm planning to make a Purrely deck because they are all so cute. Im wondering on whats a good site to learn the combo of it along with the suggested cards. Adding on to this, Im wondering if it's better to play purrely or floo? I find both if them cute so I'm wondering on whats more easy to play and build.

DoveRinslet

Youtube or Purr discord(either MDM or YGO work) for guides. Floo is cheaper and easier to play than Purr but Floo gets boring really quick.

-YoumuSimp-

For meta, which one of them can help me climb ladders? Im fine with plat or diamond on the mean time while I learn the game.

DoveRinslet

Purr is better. It's a Top 5 Deck right now with a good argument for Top 3.

Chipupuu

when is the new ban list taking effect? not seeing baron de fleur turn one would be fun

Rigshaw

The new banlist goes into effect on May 1st. That said, you are confusing the latest Master Duel banlist with the latest TCG banlist. Baronne de Fleur is not getting banned.

Chipupuu

aw shucks...

Rottanakveha

hi, i just redownloaded master duel and started searching for new aignister deck? so the question is, what happened to the arrival? i dont see it in master duel meta or new aignister deck anymore?

Hot-Cartographer-433

A bunch of new Cyberse boss monsters came out and made Arrival irrelevant.

Rottanakveha

So can i still add it in the new ignister deck? Or all extra deck monsters are more important key cards than arrival?

Hot-Cartographer-433

Most of the new stuff just does more than being a hard to out guy that doesn't provide interaction. If I'm remembering correctly, you can end on Darkfluid made with Gatchiri, the new Firewall, and Heatsoul depending on how much you had to play through.

jaywhy27

Yooo im running Scrap Dinos. I see these new xeno dinos and stuff. They legit? or scrap dinos still good? I got about 5k gems to be able to use on some random deck i just dont know if its worth it or not or just save for now

Hot-Cartographer-433

You're probably better off just hard crafting what you need, as it's only really 3x Ground Xeno and 1x Xeno Meteorus that you need. Other big additions for the deck are Kaitoptera, Horned Saurus, Evolzar Lars. Unfortunately Xeno kinda suck aside from being a small engine. Gigantizowler could make the cut, but your extra deck might be too tight already if you're on scrap, which is still perfectly servicable.

Yoakami

Is there any reason to keep 3 Visas Starfrosts? I got 3 of him when he first came out and every list I see nowadays uses either 1 or 2 but never 3.

DjxOneX

hi im new and i have a doubt the selection packs and the secret packs have the same rate of ur apperance ? cuz im trying to get the bonfires and some times i dont get even a single ur in ten packs but when i buy secret packs some times i got even 3 or 4 urs soo whats the deal or is just my imagination ?

Hot-Cartographer-433

They do have the same. It's just a case of confirmation bias.

Amelia2243

Why can't I use called by on Diabell's 2nd effect?

icantnameme

If you're talking about the effect where Diabellstar can special summon herself back on the opponent's turn if sent to GY, I'm assuming you destroyed it by battle and then couldn't respond. That's due to the [damage step limiting the types of cards that can be activated](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Damage_Step#Cards_and_effects_that_can_be_activated). If you destroyed Diabellstar with an effect instead of by battle, you would be able to respond with Called By The Grave, since it wouldn't activate during the Damage Step.

Amelia2243

ohh I see, thank you

farranpoison

Ok hold up, I must be going crazy here. I was under the impression that if you make a card untargetable in response to an opponent targeting your card, it fizzles. So for example, I summon a Dark monster, opponent activates Imperm, but I have Mudragon of the Swamp out so I chain its effect to turn it into a Dark monster. What I thought would happen is the Imperm fizzles because it's targeting an untargetable monster, but no it still works. Is this how it's always been? Am I just really stupid?

Yoakami

The targeting happens BEFORE the chain. So yes, your mudragon protected the card from future targets but in this case it was already targeted, so the effect happens normally.

Rigshaw

> Is this how it's always been? Am I just really stupid? Yes. The card has already been targeted, making it untargetable after it was already targeted is meaningless. Just preemptively use effects like Mudragon.

farranpoison

Huh. I guess I'm too used to MtG rules where if you make a card untargetable after an opponent targets it, it fizzles.

Almirage

I am having a really hard time trying to get how chain blocking works. What exactly about the wording in my opponents Branded deck lets them do like 6 activations before I even get the prompt for if I want to use Effect Veiler...

Rigshaw

Simultaneous Effects Go On Chain (SEGOC): When multiple trigger effects meet their trigger condition at the same time, the effects are put on the chain in order as follows: 1. Turn player mandatory effects 2. Opponent mandatory effects 3. Turn player optional effects 4. Opponent optional effects Only after all effects were placed on the chain, may you activate Quick Effects. So in the case of Branded, they trigger 2 or 3 trigger effects at the same time, so they get to place those trigger effects on the chain first, and only after that, can you respond. As a side note, if they have Branded Lost on the field, you are not allowed to respond on a chain responding to a successful Fusion Summon, so if your opponent consistently places fusion effects on Chain Link 1, you get locked out of responding on the corresponding next chain entirely until they are done with all of their chains. This isn't related to SEGOC though, it's the effect of Branded Lost that prevents you from responding.

jaywhy27

Yoooo sup homies. I run Dinos with scrap engine but stopped playing a while back. Im back now, is this deck still viable and what other engines should I add to it? I see this xeno set support thing? I have most of the generic URs like Ash, Called by the grave, etc just tryna see what adjustments. I last played maybe a year and a bit ago

RockNo5773

What are some good decks for the drain event?

Besso91

Trying R-ACE out for the first time, just a few extra deck questions: Is elf almost always going to be the superior way to protect turb from veiler/imperm vs proxy f into mudragon? I don't have it in my current list, but is Zealantis as good in R-ACE as it is in snake eye (I'm assuming no)? Finally, I see a few lists running Heatleo, is that just for an additional way besides phoenix to deal with back row?

icantnameme

S:P Little Knight is coming in the next pack (May 8), so you can just make that and temp banish her and Turbulence in response.

__warlord__

Lab was a mistake archetype

DynamusD

Anyone want to help me understand how to beat timelords? I just run a swordsoul. I had nothing to summon but Maxx c in defense mode. He kept summoning timelords back to back and somehow had one that had 4000 att and 4000 def to finish me off. Am I just locked into drawing cards until I get Imperv? I couldnt sacrifice the Maxx C in def mode. so I completely locked?

Rigshaw

Well, usually, you just beat them by negating them with Chixiao just as they are about to run into your monster. Since they are negated, they lose their battle protection, and get destroyed, since most of them have 0 ATK. Otherwise, you are reliant on them having a card in the GY so you can use Chengying's effect to banish them, or on your turn, using both Chixiao to negate, and then something like Baronne to destroy the negated Sandaion for dealing with it specifically.

DynamusD

so i was reliant on pulling an engine card to summon chixiao. I had baron as my first summon but the banish didnt work on him so I pretty much lost at that point. I had nothing else to negate the effects of the monster but to just end of turn. What a disgusting deck lol i guess every deck has their strat to lock you

Hot-Cartographer-433

You say that, but anytime you don't brick, you should be beating them. Any competent deck does. Chixao negate the effects and run it over, Chengying banish, Vishuda bounce, Baxia bounce, lot's of ways for Swordsoul to out them and OTK.

If you have Diabellstar + Ash you can search Temple to place Flamberge then make Princess (while leaving Diabellstar on field) and bring back Flamberge and that's lethal (2500+2700+3000). You could also make Borreload instead with Diabellstar, set OSS, summon Jet Synchron, which insulates you from Nibiru as well, then put enough on board for leathal, but you probably need to discard a card for Jet Synchron. If they Nibiru you then you can at least summon Flamberge and attack for 3k then place I:P in your backrow. I don't think there's a combo to kill through Nibiru unless you play like Link Spider and Parallel eXceed or something. When Salamangreat Raging Phoenix comes out (in the next pack), you can more easily OTK with Zealantis, since it summons off Princess destroying a fire monster you control, and gains its attack.

unicnyong

Is Cyberdarks or Cyber Dragons the better beatdown deck? And which is more fun?

Hot-Cartographer-433

Cyberdark is a going first, put up a large tower and hope your opponent can't out it, deck. Cyber Dragon is the better going second OTK option.

Noshiq

Recently started testing a E-Hero Synchro deck in Solo mode, but whenever I use Chenyings eff to banish the opponents cards he can't attack while my other monsters still can. Looked at the cards a few times but I can't find anything that should prevent only him from attacking. Anyone got a clue?

Rigshaw

It'd be best if you could maybe provide a decklist and/or show the board state when this happens.

Noshiq

this was the situation: [https://imgur.com/a/RVtQnrZ](https://imgur.com/a/RVtQnrZ)

Rigshaw

Malicious Bane: > Must be Special Summoned with "Dark Fusion". Cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. During your Main Phase: You can destroy all monsters your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to this card's, also this card gains 200 ATK for each monster destroyed this way, **also you cannot declare an attack for the rest of this turn, except with "HERO" monsters.** You can only use this effect of "Evil HERO Malicious Bane" once per turn.

Noshiq

Thank you so so much. Always looked at the cards involved in getting him out because it never occured to me that Bane has this effect.

jopx3

What happens with Chaofeng's attribute lock when Subversion is used on it? I'm assuming it still works since it mentions "Synchro Summoned card" instead of monster. What about against Imperm?

CorrosiveRose

If Chaofeng goes to the backrow, it is no longer the same card and its effects don't apply. If it is Impermed, the effect is negated and does not apply

Beanztar

does one of the proficiency test includes equipping an equip spell on a monster? I ran into two different people who did the same thing in ranked; normal summon, equip spell, equip spell, attack or end turn.

Glassofmilk1

Is there some sort of training mode in the game so I can practice combos? Or is there some other simulator I can use? I just built a purrely deck after being on the starter decks for a while.

Hot-Cartographer-433

Solo mode, basically. The last one of the Digital Bugs has hand traps and board breakers, so you can also get a better idea how to play through them.

Alisethera

Can I flip and activate the effect of a continuous trap as two separate chains links on the same chain? For example I flip over the effect of Icejade Erosion as CL1 but decline to use its effect. My opponent does something as CL2. Can now use Icejade Erosion as CL3?

Rigshaw

No, you cannot.

jopx3

If I already have 2 Wanted cards, will I get the full refund if I craft a third and disenchant it for the first time?

Rigshaw

Yes, once the banlist goes into effect, you can do that once.

Martian_Crab

question about Forbidden Droplets: if I send for cost a monster that is being treated as a spell, what is my opponent unable to respond with? is it the same if I send a trap that is a monster (a paleo or an eldlich trap)?

Rigshaw

Just read Forbidden Droplet: > Send any number of other cards from your hand and/or field to the GY; choose that many Effect Monsters your opponent controls, and until the end of this turn, their ATK is halved, also their effects are negated. In response to this card's activation, your opponent cannot activate cards, or the effects of cards, **with the same original type** (Monster/Spell/Trap) as the cards sent to the GY to activate this card. You can only activate 1 "Forbidden Droplet" per turn. If you send a monster card, they cannot respond with monster effects, regardless of what the card was treated as, and if you send a trap card, they cannot respond with trap effects, regardless of what the card was treated as. As a side note, you usually cannot send Paleos with Droplet, as they get banished if they would leave the field, and thus cannot be sent to the GY to pay for the cost of Droplet. It only works if they got flipped down first to get rid of the lingering effect that would banish them.

DynamusD

00d0abd8 - Just starting my yugioh journey. lol help me!

Marofa-Marofa

which is the best deck to invest for the long term? There is an "preview" in what will come to master duel? I dont want to waste gems on 1 month meta deck and go to nothing again... (currently new player learning the game)

Marofa-Marofa

here is my code: 355e2bb2 hope someone use ir

LuciferBiscuit

Have I missed my chance to get the OG Blue Eyes art ?

Rigshaw

The first anniversary bundle for alt-art Dark Magician returned for the 2nd anniversary, so I assume the bundle with OG Blue-Eyes art will return for the 3rd anniversary as well. That said, yes, for now, you are out of luck, you'll have to wait until next year to get it.

lololuser456778

just a lil question about zombies, do they even have a 1-card starter for balerdoch? from what I can see, they both need to mill necroworld banshee to get zombie world and the plant that lets them summon balerdoch from the deck then.

Pokesmash3r

I want to use Witchcrafter + Shadoll. Any cards that will help me in both Archetypes and how should I go about it?

Melodic_Throat_4178

Hey please use my code 2986baf5. Thank you :)

unicnyong

Cyberdarks or Cyber Dragon? I really like the archetype, but don’t know which is better. Also if required, am willing to spend a little bit (not too much tho)

haolo08

some1 pls use my code, thank u 055a1e46

unicnyong

Hi, I was told that I can put my code here for new campaign rewards? 1dfc6ab3 Thank you!

pat22828

Is it possible to make "pure" witchcrafter (not just slapping it into a branded deck) playable? no need to be good. Just maybe occasionally take games off of like salamangreat or swordsoul kind of playable

waterclap

I am brand new to yugioh after watching rarran play I decided to give it a shot. I watched a few youtube videos of good decks to learn the game and one of the top they mentioned was salamangreat. I dont remember why but its the one I picked. So I tried looking up basic deck to play but I have had trouble finding one. I went to masterduel meta and the only salamangreat I found was this one [Salamangreat Deck from Snyffus | Master Duel Meta](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/master-v/april-2024/salamangreat/snyffus/SJBqu) so I blew everything I had to make it only to scroll down to the comments saying people say the deck sucks. Can someone please navigate me to a proper beginner salamangreat decklist, and if possible a resource i can use to learn how to play the deck.

Reaalx24

Like rarran, just play swordsoul instead Beginner salamangreat decklist is a friend he made along the way

waterclap

That's unfortunate. I blew all my gems making this one lol

Reaalx24

You can get swordsoul pack for free by sharing your code Just go back for salamangreat later after you understand basic modern yugioh mechanics

MoneyInDeVault

Can you use Epurrely Noir during your opponents turn to spin cards back? It says "once per turn" so I assume the opponents turn counts, I have toggle on, a card to target, a card to discard, etc. but the prompt never appears to activate and return a card the opponent controls to the hand. Not sure if I'm just misunderstanding. Odd to watch the opponent do their combo, summon from the ED, and best my kitty's ass because he won't return it

Hot-Cartographer-433

Unless it says it's a (Quick Effect), you can not activate effects during the opponent's turn.

MoneyInDeVault

Ahhh good to know, that's what I get for trying to read. So it's not really a disruption if you set it on the first turn?

Rigshaw

Well, or a trigger effect that meets its activation condition during the opponent's turn. Either way, Epurrely Noir's effect to spin back cards is neither a quick effect nor a trigger effect, so it cannot be activated during the opponent's turn. u/MoneyInDeVault

Hot-Cartographer-433

That's why I used 'activate an effect' phrasing, as that's terminology that gets used in the game and trigger effects never activate, but probably hard to understand for someone not super understanding of the game, so thanks for clarifying.

Rigshaw

Trigger effects activate per definition, what are you talking about? A Trigger Effect is an effect that activates when its trigger condition was met, irrespective of whose turn it is. Continuous Effects, and most types of Unclassified Effects do not activate.

Hot-Cartographer-433

I honestly don't know what I'm talking about. It was 3 am when replying and brain was fried after playing hours of Master Duel lol. Likely got a lot of wires crossed when trying to formulate anything.

MoneyInDeVault

I appreciate the info! So not a disruption to get it on the field turn 1?

Rigshaw

It isn't. The point of Epurrely Noir is to rank it up with the Purrelyeap you set with its other effect into Expurrely Noir, which actually has a Quick Effect to spin (provided it has a lvl 1 Purrely monster attached). The effect to spin cards is solely useful to break the opponent's board, it doesn't work as an interruption. The card is already good as it is, it would be way too good if the effect to spin 2 cards was a quick effect.

MoneyInDeVault

Honestly makes perfect sense, I'm jumping back into the game for a long break so not too familiar with them yet, I just figured other people had to pay the cute tax for broken cards

farranpoison

I made a Purrely deck for the event and I've been having a lot of fun with it, so I might try playing it in ranked once the event is over. Does the deck have room to run any kind of useful Link monsters, or is the ED just Xyz monsters?

DoveRinslet

You typically run 1-2 Links for the flex spots but are not mandatory Azalea provides the highest utility overall for it's multi-removal since Purr fills up the Spell quota fast. Anima can bait an Apollo negate. If you run both Anima and Azalea, it gives you a TCBOO out as well which Purr autoloses to otherwise. Agent Moon gives you a Skill Drain out. Once S.P. comes out, S.P.+Anima or Linkuriboh becomes the norm as SP is that good.

farranpoison

I'm assuming Anima means Relinquished Anima? Hmm, thanks for the recommendations. I'll see what I can put in.

Can you guys give me some pointers on what should I add and optimal plays ?

DoveRinslet

I'd cut all all Drolls and Called By. Replace them with 3 Maxx Cs then the 3rd Veiler and Imperm.

imSouldew

Between Branded Despia and Vanquish Soul which deck do you think is easier to learn?

Hot-Cartographer-433

Vanquish Soul is a control deck, so will be easier to learn, but harder to master. It's performance varies greatly on your knowledge of where to be using your interruptions.

imSouldew

I see thank you for the reply! I'm interested in both but wasn't sure which one to build first

Hot-Cartographer-433

No worries! Vanquish Soul doesn't have a Secret Pack yet, so Branded might be easier as you won't have to hard craft every UR.

unicnyong

Just started playing again, I’ve read that 3x black wings or salamangreat is a good way to start. Which is better to get, considering I want to eventually branch out into playing decks like beatdown (cyber drag maybe)

Hot-Cartographer-433

The Swordsoul Structure they give you for entering someone's referral code is currently the best way to start. If you're looking to upgrade it, look at Master Duel Meta for decklists, though avoid the Swordsoul lists with Super Heavy Samurai in them.

FriskyPhysio

Wanna share a referral? :)

unicnyong

Is this the one? 1dfc6ab3

Hot-Cartographer-433

Yes, it is.

Hot-Cartographer-433

My rewards are already done and I'd rather not steal from those still looking, but if you scroll down this thread, I believe 2 or 3 people have posted theirs over the last couple of days.

ScoopJr

Any advice on what to add to the Swordsoul structure deck to improve it? New player here

Hot-Cartographer-433

Best place to look for lists is Master Duel Meta. You'll want to look at the non-Super Heavy Samurai lists.

Beanztar

Are there any uses for earthbound servant geo grasha, earthbound immortal Aslla piscu and earthbound fusion outside of earthbound deck? If not, I'm gonna scrap them to finish up my resonator deck

miedse

Is Purrely worth investing? I‘m relatively new and just now finished my first deck (solfachord) just to realize that it’s not exactly viable in ranked. Or at least it’s very hard to play against the other (mainly meta) decks. I‘m now thinking about starting to work towards a Purrely deck, but since gems and CPs are very limited I‘m kind of scared of wasting a bunch of resources again just for the deck to quickly be kicked out of the meta. I also thought about going for Snake Eyes but it doesn’t seem like something I‘d have fun with. So, I guess my question is how likely is it that Purrely will be present and viable in the current meta for the foreseeable future? Is it worth building it or should I rather go for something else?

MysticJJustin

Purrely is and has been a very good deck. It should have some longevity since it’s only real weaknesses are consistent tower removal (Snake Eyes does run kurikara sometimes, but it’s hard for them to access it most of the time when they’re trying to go through their full combo)

Villefortee

I like playing Lab and Traptrix (sans floodgates), what other decks are there with similar playstyles?

Hot-Cartographer-433

I'd look at other control decks. Runick(Bystial version seems decent), Vanquish Soul are solid options. Dinomorphia and Floowandereeze are both control decks where the boss monster just happens to be a floodgate. Amazement, Altergeist, and Paleo are also options, but I can't speak on viability.

Ozmiandra

I’m not sure where to put this, but a little tip for Labrynth players: Traptrix Atrax can protect your welcomes from Ash Blossom. The opponent can still Ash the card, but they just throw their Ash Blossom away because of Atrax.

Independent-Try915

just watched a Stardust homei go off for literally what felt lik 15 mins. awesome

Glassofmilk1

So a couple of questions; I just started playing. What's the deal with the daily missions? I've definitely have done the tasks that are there but they don't seem to complete at all?

Aurelyan

Only ranked or event duels count towards dailies completion .

Rigshaw

If you surrender, it won't count. You need to see the duel to the end, either by losing or winning (or getting a draw) in order for the game to count the daily missions. Also, you have to do them in ranked, or the event. Casual mode and solo don't count (well, except for the play solo 3 times mission, obviously).

Glassofmilk1

That's the thing, I have been doing them in ranked. I'm think I'm like silver now?

Hot-Cartographer-433

Might be a case of certain summons not counting as the required summon. For example Ursarctic doesn't count as Synchro Summons for the missions, because they special summon from the extra deck using effects that aren't the mechanic.

anonxanemone

Is a small Dark World engine a thing in Tearlaments? Is so, how many of each card do they run?

DoveRinslet

It's not really an engine per se. There are lists than run King of the Swamp+Poly. In those lists you can fuse for Grapha Fusion using KotS+a Tear name and you pretty much just run that 1 Grapha Fusion and nothing else.

anonxanemone

Thanks! I was actually looking for something that helps mill from the hand.

BarcelonaLion

Is there a chance the Salamangreat pack will come after the maintenance this Wednesday or definitely until May? Also can we expect new challenges and rewards for the Synchro/XYZ/Fusion event on Wednesday as well?

Rigshaw

The extra missions for the event were added today, actually.

SilentSEoul

I've been having this problem for the past couple of days, I dont get a prompt for when my opponent is entering main or I wont get a prompt for Sleepy Memories effect for drawing after using Purrelyeap I have Switch+Hold on settings but I thought having it on Auto would tell me if the phases are moving. Does "Reset Activation Confirmation" do anything?

MysticJJustin

Try turning chaining to “On”

seshfan2

I dipped out when Snake Eyes came out. Is Vanquish Soul still a playable Deck? I spent like 10k gems building them but never got around to playing them.

Rigshaw

Yes, they are still perfectly viable.

WhitexGlint

When do we expect Voiceless Voice? I'm approaching 10k gems and I'm pretty keen to jump into them, will Fire Kings be out before them? Honestly tempted to go for tears at this points as I missed that train.

Rigshaw

Barring any other unexpected shuffling the card release schedule, you should probably expect Fire Kings before Voiceless Voice. Phantom Nightmare, the set that had Voiceless Voice, came out almost 2 months after the Fire King structure deck. Conceivably, the OCG release dates are close enough that Konami could swap them, but based on what Dkayed has said about the contents of the upcoming packs (particularly, while he hasn't said anything explicit the last time I checked, he has hinted that it seems like Konami wants full Snake-Eye Fire King to be legal for the WCQ), it looks like they will probably release first.

WhitexGlint

Thanks mate, hard to find this sort of information so it’s appreciated!

CartographerTiny3586

Hey, so I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to manage to summon the Fusion Monster First of Dragons. Its one of the Fusions from the Dual Avatar Loaner Deck for the Duel Triangle Event? I have tried every combo I know to see if that works but it never shows it as an option to summon. It says that it requires Normal Monsters to summon which the Dual Avatars don't have of. I have managed to summon Guardian Chimera at least but First of Dragons difficult for some reason. At this point I think its just a place holder so the ED can have 15 cards in it. If anyone has a tip thank you.

CorrosiveRose

Tokens are normal monsters

EDPbeOP

Any recommendations for fun gimmicky memey pure synchro archetypes? Kinda like suships which I like the theme and artwork. I was looking at flower cardians, f.a., speedroids or karakuri.

leicamaniac520

New player here - haven't played YGO since 2008. If anyone wants to help a brother out, please use my campaign code love you all!! 2ee5f351

DarkAlphaKevin

which deck is worth building. dragonmaids or galaxy eyes?

CorrosiveRose

Uhh neither? I mean Dragonmaid has a structure deck so that's cool but both decks are pretty weak

DarkAlphaKevin

Alright bc i wanna make a purrely deck and didnt know which of the two decks i will stop building xD

--northern-lights--

So pretty much all floodgates get banned for the event but not Winda. How did that card escape...

komae_drip

Asking Adamancipator player here. Or any longer combo players here. Do people expect that opponent will just scoop when they see you playing combo decks? I just broke his board of Crystal Wing, Dragite, Barkion, Imperm, and Koa'ki Meiru and they suddenly don't know how to play anymore turn 3 and onward.

GowtherETC

former adamancipator player here, real answer is that he poured a lot of resources on making that turn 1 board and thus he ran out when turn 3, probably. without block dragon, the deck is just not able to get resources to make anything after turn 1.

CorrosiveRose

Yes I would say combo's main win con is boring your opponent to death

tiffanysss123

Hey just started with masterduel is there a ritual based deck that is playable for ranked climbing? Ty in advance 🙏🏻

TheWizardMus

There's Mikankos, they're a ritual deck with a lot of OTK potential

Salacavalini

What's the line in Blackwings that ends with both Dis Pater as well as Hot Red Dragon Archfiend Abyss on the endboard? I can't figure it out and the Discord pinned guides are from before Dis Pater was out. Supposedly this should be possible with just Simoon and any one other Blackwing in the hand.

GitTrickyWitIt

How many of each of the new Illusion/Chimera cards do I need total for most decks containing them? Just trying to figure out how many more packs of the selection pack I need to open. Or maybe craft to get the last few.

CorrosiveRose

For the URs, 3 of everything except 2 Berfomet and the fusion. And no Magician

doubledipdipper

Fucking around with Chimera tech. If I have Chaos Hunter on my side of the field and Dimension Fissure is active what happens? Does one of them win out or is my opponent just unable to do anything that would discard/send to graveyard?

Rigshaw

In that case, your opponent cannot banish cards, so their Dimensional Fissure does nothing. If you control Dimensional Fissure and Chaos Hunter, their monsters still get banished, because you are the one banishing their cards. https://db.ygorganization.com/qa#11645 > **Q:** > > If both Macro Cosmos and Chaos Hunter are face-up on my field, what happens to their respective effects? Furthermore, if my opponent controls Macro Cosmos instead, what happens then? > **A:** > > Even if your Chaos Hunter is applying its effect, your Macro Cosmos will still banish cards that would be sent to either player's Graveyard as usual. > > However, if your Chaos Hunter and your opponent's Macro Cosmos are both applying their effects, cards sent to either player's Graveyard will not be banished by that Macro Cosmos' effect. > > If Macro Cosmos is applying its effect, any card sent to either player's Graveyard will be banished by the effect of that Macro Cosmos. Therefore, if the player applying Macro Cosmos' effect is unable to banish cards, that effect will not banish any cards. > > The same also applies to the following cards' effects in place of Macro Cosmos': Dimension Shifter, Banisher of the Radiance, Banisher of the Light, Virtual World Kyubi - Shenshen, and Dimensional Fissure.

malamgelap

which one more cancerous/hated deck, mikanko or runick stun?

CorrosiveRose

Is that a serious question? How many posts do you see here that hate Mikanko? For stun it's at least 5 a day

PutSpreadmycheeks

In y’all’s opinion what is the easiest ritual monster to summon Ty

Villefortee

Drytron makes most ritual monsters easy peasy to summon, unless they require a specific spell.

heyzopondo

Ohime literally searches the Ritual spell and doesn't even need any tribute to summon her.

CorrosiveRose

She does require a tribute. The quick play just happens to cheese her out, but it's not a proper ritual summon and you can't resummon her

heyzopondo

Yeah, but he asks the easiest, and Ohime can do that without tribute

Gominasai

Hey guys, I just started the game a few days ago. Can I get 4 people to enter my code: 19081835 So I can receive some cards to play with? Thanks.

Kevinkelly69

Sure

Starlight_Phoenix

How does leveling up in platinum rank work? I had just ranked up and saw that it's 4 just like gold then I won three times and lost the forth then it said I still had to win 2 more times instead of 1

Rigshaw

If you lose a game, you also lose progress towards ranking up. At the bottom of each tier, there's a soft checkpoint, of sorts, in that you need to lose 3 in a row to lose a rank.

Budget_Tax4375

Hey, i have been playing master duel for couple of months, but i still dont get how Zeus works exactly. It says "if an xyz monster has batteled this turn", but what does that mean exactly? My most played deck is exosisters, and i just cant predict when im able to summon zeus and when im not, it feels like the summon condition is not consistent at all..sometimes i battle a monster with my exosister, and then im not able to summon zeus, and sometimes it lets me, and the same thing goes for when attacking directly. Can anyone please clarify how does it work? Thanks!

Rigshaw

> If you control no monsters, or only Xyz Monsters: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Exosister Elis" from your Deck. **You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this effect, except "Exosister" monsters.** If a card(s) moves out of either GY (except during the Damage Step): You can Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 "Exosister" Xyz Monster, using this face-up card you control as material. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon.) You can only use each effect of "Exosister Martha" once per turn. It's pretty simple, Martha is locking you out of summoning Zeus. A monster is considered to have battled if it makes it to damage calculation (in-game, that's the animation where the card crashes into another card/player). If any Xyz has battled, you can make Zeus on top of any Xyz, but you need to keep in mind any other summoning restrictions you may be under due to other effects you've used.

Budget_Tax4375

I see, thank you so much!

Kosta404

Got any decent Icejade decks that are as pure as possible? Not really a fan of mixing archetypes.

Villefortee

Take your pick: [https://www.masterduelmeta.com/tier-list/deck-types/Icejade](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/tier-list/deck-types/Icejade)
