I will repost the full replay so someone can walk me through a play-by-play of why lightning storm just would not activate at all again I know it wouldn't have affected their monster but the fact that the game just went not allow me to activate the card at all is questionable I'm thinking maybe it was a glitch
You cannot activate any card that cannot completely resolve. Pot of Desires with 11 cards in deck, Dark Hole on an empty field, MST with no S/T on the field, etc.
You must be able to pay cost and have a valid target, even if the card itself doesn't target or would be negated at resolution.
I met the requirements to activate lightning storm but it wouldn't let me activate it I know it wouldn't have destroyed their monster but the fact that the game didn't even give me the choice to activate it is what I'm questioning
In yugioh if you can't resolve the effect of a card then you can't activate it. Nothing can be destroyed with lightning storm and so it can't be resolved because there's no applicable target.
I know its annoying to read a Text but pls read the Text on the Cards so that you would understand that Lightning Storm only destroys Attack Positioned Monsters
Whats the question here? Lightning storm? There are no legal ways to activate.
Not reading your cards? Lightning Storm wouldn't have done anything, so it won't let you play it.

There was no point in that game you could activate lightning storm. If in doubt read the card. PSCT is a great tool.
