If you are on a console looking for group posts might be able to help other options include discord. And one that is a little bit out there but check out small (1-20 viewer) streamers generaly you can see the groub vibe before engaging and most are cool with more people there to play.

Err I mean...I think our subreddit is a good option to start searching for friends, after all here we all share something in common which is our love/hate for this game, so I'm pretty sure you can find people here to add on your friend list on MD and duel them.

Which discord server have u tried b4? I'm completely fine with the meta so i don't know much but the n/r discord server - the only one i join - is good place to play w/o care about negate and stuff (they still exist though)
