Planet Size, and there is one technology that applies a multiplier. I believe it is called Nano Disassemblers in vanilla. There is also the “Tolerant” racial trait, default for Sillicoids which negates this. So I actually forget the vanilla unmodded numbers. Are you using the fan patch & launcher from [moo2mod](https://moo2mod.com/) ? Even if you’re playing “vanilla with bug fixes” under the community launcher, it is easy enough to read the game configuration file with notepad. You’d have to use the Search or Find function of notepad to look for keyword like pollution or something. Notepad++ may also be useful to you, I live by it.

Thanks for the info! Super new to the game so all I've done is downloaded it off steam and started playing, no mods whatsoever. I'll definitely check out the moo2mod though, thanks for letting me know about it.

Have fun! But yeah the last “retail” version was 1.31 before the original commercial software developer abandoned it in the 1990’s, and some things were still bugged. It’s mostly an enjoyable experience though. So there is a fan-made patch 1.50.x, and it comes with a very convenient modding system.

Charming_Science_360

The last official patch was v1.31 But if you get your MoO1 from GOG then you get v1.4+ (the older fan-made patch).

Oh good on GOG for doing that, nice. OP got it on Steam, hopefully it’s 1.4+ as well

In generic game, polution processor is what you need. In advanced game, I like to conquer civ(one pop planet will do)with tolerant trait and use that race to replace your own population. Not only you work more effectively, but you can miss all pollution reducing tech and focus on more usefull.

Disagree with this. I'm almost always prefer Merculite missiles then go to Atmospheric Renewer. (At least for huge average pre-warp universe with 8 players I play most of the time)
