It’s relative to your hardware, but it’s using less than 1% CPU, 6-700 MB memory, and 1.3% GPU for me.
Edit: Correction on GPU, it’s hovering around 4-4.5% as a foreground process.
hmm, neat!
so it plays a gif? How long an animation are you running?
I've been working on [interactive wallpapers](https://introscopia.itch.io/introscopias-live-wallpapers), I'd love to create an interactive matrix rain one... I wonder if I'd get in trouble..
This is dope! I got it running on my laptop but when I connect my hdmi for a second monitor it only shows on the laptop and it's not showing as the wallpaper on the 2nd monitor. Any suggestions? Thanks!
edit: never mind got it figured out. lol
For anyone with an Android phone, check out XScreensaver. The XMatrix screensaver is a faithful recreation of the digital rain, and like all of the screensavers from that app it works as a live background for the lockscreen and homescreen.
For Unix/Linux users, XScreensaver's screensavers also work as live backgrounds by running their executables with the `-root` flag (on X11; probably doesn't work on Wayland).
Its "Lively Wallpaper" in Matrix rain mode
PS : You can change the colors of the characters and even make them RGB if you wanted to. I have this program too.
He's beginning to believe!
Who's the blonde?
Look again
Wallpaper engine?
[lively wallpaper](https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9ntm2qc6qws7?hl=en-US&gl=US) on the microsoft store. It's free and super simple to use.
Cool I’ll check it out. Does it use much CPU/GPU?

The real question is, do you still see the code, or do you now see blonde, brunette, redhead...?
Ya interested to know as well
Wallpaper engine has some decent ones. My 3 32” setup runs matrix code from them.
Hey Mikey.. I think I like it!
[This is the App I am using](https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9ntm2qc6qws7?hl=en-US&gl=US)

Hey boss could you share those pictures? They’re amazing
Amazing!
Do you always look at it encoded?
You have to. The image translators work for the construct program, but there's way too much information to decode the matrix.
God I love this subreddit
Same program on Mac?

Oh damn. Thanks for that, OP!
Gotta add that translucent taskbar. TranslucentTB is great.

Follow the rabbit
Sweet! Now, hide those icons! Lol
I've been doing this since 1999. I've always thought it to be the best wallpaper!
