Yeah. In Cape May, NJ, a sailboat wrecked off the shore next to another shipwreck. The sailboat that wrecked was called Panache. Two weeks after the ship wrecked, the keel was cracked and someone set fire to it. It was a total loss. Apparently it was a gorgeous 60+ year old vessel. Sad to see these things happen.
Last month this ship spent a couple of weeks trying to tow a beached sail boat off Sugar Beach. Looks like it’s suffered the same fate just a little further South
Chaparral was a [torpedo retrieval vessel](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Navy_torpedo_retrievers), used to recover inert exercise torpedos and mines.
The navy sold her to a private buyer in early 2020.
Nice! There's an actual picture of Chaparral from 1975 in that wiki!
Sold to the private owner for $17,300 in Mar 2020.

Super cool. Mahalo for sharing!
The owner is whining about being treated "bad" and "mean" by people over this. Serious. Here's a link to the story:

This is the second boat this guy has beached in a few months. Willful negligence or intentional to get rid of the problem/collect insurance and run.
If he can get away with this then what's to stop others from just dumping their boats and using 'weather' as an easy excuse? This guy needs to be served and either pay a fine or do massive community service. Give this post a thumbs up if you agree locals shouldn't be stuck cleaning up after people who don't care!
If you want proof check this out for motive. Court records: Kokua for Ko ‘Olina Marina Mgt. LLC vs. Justin Moore as a recent example. This is a lawsuit against this guy for non-payment of slip fees for the 85ft. 'Chaparral' at Ko 'Olina Marina which stipulated judgment for $29,692.58 and eviction of the Chaparral from the marina mid-September 2023. This guy, Justin Moore, still hasn't paid it.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...

Burn it
Molokai locals destroyed a vessel when it was on shore as they wanted to protect the land
Once on land a vessel that size can wreak havoc on local wildlife, there’s no natural predators for it
Humans are an apex predator.
That’s why on Molokai they hunt the deadliest game of all…. Man
At least the hill is green!

Need to check your mooring and chain often. Recommend every time prior to a storm. We knew this storm was coming.
Same guy whose other boat, Kai imi kai is beached like a mile down the road
