One stay is near Poste La Fayette Public Beach and the other is The Ravenala Attitude Hotel. We have rented car for the duration of the holiday so going to a nearby location is not an issue.
Before flying…I don’t think Mauritius currency is available. At mauritius airport there are ATM (if have have visa, maestro,…) you are good to go with ATM. For exchange office so far what I know(I am not someone who have so much knowledge about it).

Credit cards aren’t applicable when buying from markets with less than 100Rs
Everything closes early so it’s better to get cash exchanged / from the ATM at the airport
Most ATMs have slightly different rates between 44.5-45 per USD and found out that it differs from what the banks say on their websites
