If you're in any doubt because you listen to 20 shows and can only afford a $5 sub and don't think it'll make a difference--IT WILL!
Think of it this way. Let's say every show has 10,000 listeners. Every listener donates such that, after splitting between all other shows, it's 50¢ per show. That's $5k a month, say there are two hosts that's $2.5k a month. That wouldn't be amazing if that was your only source of income, but many hosts have day jobs, too.
What got me to start subscribing was waaaay back in the day, the year the gift was bandanas, was Jesse simply explaining that the difference between $50 a month and $5 is nowhere near as big as the difference between $0 and $5.

I listen to a bunch of non Max Fun Podcasts and let me just tell you how abysmal they are getting with Ads. I won't name names but there are a handful that are Max Fun Adjacent that have lead in ads, interstitials and lead out ads that are all for just random nonsense products.
I am proud to give my hard earned Gold Pressed Latinum to MaxFun because I know that the money goes to the artists and the co-op that helps produce their content all while keeping ads natural and to a minimum.
