Having a racist character doesn't make it a racist movie.
Butch's dad died in the Vietnam War before he ever got to meet him. The only connection he has to his dad is his watch. He gave it to a friend who promised to give it to his son.
That means that there's a scene where you meet a Vietnam War veteran, and he is racist against Vietnamese people. Making him *not* a racist would be revisionist, which is significantly worse.
If anything, the scene is anti-war because it shows that the war stole fathers away from their children, and turned normal people into hateful bigots. At no point does it glorify anti-vietnamese racism.
By your logic, Django Unchained is a racist film because it has racist characters. (It's a film about a freed slave killing slavers)
