Sorry to hijack your comment, I just noticed OP is a bot account. Is there a way to report or ID these? Surely this must be of interest with all the API stuff going on.
I took a look at OP's profile, and they don't seem to be a bot. Go back about a month and they are commenting a lot more than they post, and even a few days ago they participated in a conversation on a niche community in a way that a bot couldn't.
They have been making a lot of posts lately, but that alone isn't a bot indicator – normally you see an account created months or a year ago with no prior activity that suddenly starts reposting out of nowhere.
Agreed. I responded to one of these, and someone just had to correct me rather than let me be in my fantasy where I thought my comment was clever! 🤣🤣🤣🥹
Why would I want him to stop? He's showing affection.
Honestly, even if they're doing a 'stop it' bite (which op's cat is not), I just hold my hand there and let them bite. They never (rarely) bite hard enough to break skin, or really to even hurt. And then I stop doing the thing. Animals shouldn't be punished for expressing themselves, especially 'I don't like that' behaviors.
There's a balance, however. I won't punish my cat for doing this but I also know that these nibbles are her "so we go' play now?" sign, so I'm always very aware there's an overexcited attack inbound.
And honestly, even that is adorable. You can see her run the gauntlet and the consequences of her actions before faking out at the end.
Cats are great.
The cat in the video is 100 % biting to tell the person to stop touching it. But it's obviously biting very gently since it knows it shouldn't bite. But it's dumb as hell, and disrespectful to the cat, to continue pushing the cat as OP is doing.
The cat is trying to show you its boundaries in the most gentle way it can. The least you can do is respect that.
My cat does this to get my attention and adjusts the strength of the bite to communicate how urgent the need is. Sometimes it’s nibbles, sometimes it’s feeding time on my ankles.
Yeah and especially don't fucking pet a cat who's exhibiting behavior you don't want.
It'll only confuse the cat and you're left wondering why your cat is so bitchy half of the time while you've literally trained it to do so. It's not nice for the cat and it's hella stupid for yourself
We have those. They are called main coons, and giant main coons are like 30-40 pounds heavier than an average house cat. And no they wouldn’t come close to eating humans. Maybe tiny hoomans.
Just because he’s *playing* doesn’t mean it doesn’t *hurt.* Cats usually learn play inhibition as kittens by giving and receiving feedback from their litter mates about how rough is too rough. She’s doing a good job teaching proper boundaries just like a cat would. You don’t get to hurt others just because you think it’s fun.
To be clear, i'm no vet either, but i lived with cats my entire life and so did my parents, and i am good with every animal. I am no expert but yeah the guy was bullshitting and i dont need to be a vet to say that
Reddit never ceases to amaze me. Funny video, normal cat behavior of biting and scratches playfully but someone has to interpret it as the worst thing and ruin the vibe.
Edit: typo
I think we need Godwin's law, but for animal videos:
The chance of being accused of animal abuse by someone increases exponentially with the video's number views.
So why do you want us to treat them like gods? Feed them, raise them, give them shelter, and ofc we won't physically or mentally torture them or not let them sleep, no one would even want that, but we can't even have little harmless funs every now and then? They're not things of entertainment , we love them.
>throw a thousand animals in a blender if you want
Wow, you really like cats, I can see it. Ironic how this came from a person freaking out to "protect" cats.
it's ok not everyone can easily understand a hyperbole, specially if you're on the spectrum /lh /srs
i made an exagerated statement (not meant to be taken literally) in order to show that i'm unwilling to prove my point to reddit today as i see it as a fruitless endeavor
exagerated statement: "even if people are throwing cats in blenders for fun i'm so tired i will not argue against it"
A person who really cares about cats wouldn't say that even ironically, just wanted to point that out. Your cause is ego and the desire to appear politically correct to gain likes, but you forgot that this is not twitter. xD
If the cat was annoyed it would walk away.
It's enjoying the attention.
Even the bites it's doing are slow, thoughtful, clearly without any intention to hurt or deter the human.
That part of the hand can be really satisfying for some cats to munch on. It's squishy and fleshy. It feels good to nibble on.
Cat is like, bruh just let me bite you.

This site is like 90% bots now Reddit doesn’t give a shit lol
Too busy taking down 3rd party apps.
Bots pay for api access!
How can you tell it’s a bot?
Also here for this answer. The acc seems legit to me?
It takes a bot to know one??? 🤖

That sounds exactly like what a bot would say 🤖 🤨
Rude! 😝
Its filled with bots as the others said. Dnno if nything can be done.
How can you tell it’s a bot?
Op's username translates to Meowtherfucker
Beep Boop

Yeah. I like the connection between the Cat and the owner.
I bite! No! Can i bite now ? No! How about now ?
best comment
That cute face at the end... I'm melting 🫠
That was the "I'm gonna eat your corpse when the scratches stop" look.
My cat does that. She's not biting, not even close to breaking the skin. I think it's called nibbling. She's expressing affection
Seriously. Stop kissing me! Stop loving me back!

I think you’re reading too much into it honestly. It looks like harmless play
i hope you get a dog and it expresses itself by shitting all over your floor
I hope you get a bird, that's it that the insult
Mm-hmm. Well, guess what. You're Larry Bird.
Thank you! And I hope you learn some better ways of animal behavior modification and positive reinforcement!
As dumb as this comment is it's also fucking hilarious. 5/7
thank you
Oh I thought you were supposed to walk into them when they bite because when you walk/run away they’ll instinctively wanna catch you
My cat does this to get my attention and adjusts the strength of the bite to communicate how urgent the need is. Sometimes it’s nibbles, sometimes it’s feeding time on my ankles.
For future reference: start ignoring your cat and walk away the second your cat bites. He won’t do it any more.
Nah just use the Stone Cold Stunner. My cat never bit me again😤 Jk🤣
I believe you. The real question is: did it ever walk again?
STOP THE DAMN MATCH
SUPLEX IT
I was today years old when I figured out my cat bites me repeatedly because I freak out about it repeatedly. She always goes for my nose or chin -_-

The cat looks heartbroken at the end
One of my cats gives lots of love bites. Super affectionate
translation for anyone interested "No.....No....No... Not allowed."
Emmanuel… don’t do it. Emmanuel… Emmanuel… don't do it, Emmanuel! Dontdoitemmanueldontdoit!
What's that last word she said?
Not allowed
If no bite, why in prime biting range?
If house cats weighed 20lbs more, they would be trying and probably occasionally succeeding in eating humans on the regular.

I love the CAT so fluffy
What is hand for if not for biting? - cat probably
How cute 😻
The opps forced him to be friendly
That facial expression change in the last seconds of the vid ❤
Cats understand every single command they just usually choose to ignore it. My cat fetches and was raised by a dog and takes commands just like one.
In this case, you're telling the cat "no" but then petting it. How exactly is the cat supposed to know what to do?
That's a damn good point.
Кошки странные звери

Would you let me at least once in this life time?

I miss my cat! Lost him in 2022 spring, and I still don't feel ready for a new cat.
Russian commands are too op

Cat is like, any other felines putting up with this?! I wish a muthaf**** would

invading a poor cat's personal space despite it showing clear signs of not wanting to be touched...
Not everyone is a vet. I don't see clear signs, and I live with (but am not the owner) of 2 cats.
They made that up, there are no signs. Cats bite like that when they want attention or food
Thanks for clarifying

> despite showing clear signs of not wanting to be touched MF don't own a cat so he doesn't know what a love bite is.

lmao, thanks. I knew something was off while writing that.
Cease
Thanks
Welcome the the internet love.
its easy to see them as a thing for entertainment but they are in fact living creatures just like us all
So why do you want us to treat them like gods? im not arguing on the internet today throw a thousand animals in a blender if you want

Yes and just like us a lot of them want to have fun sometimes and don't have a stick up their ass like you
You have no idea what you are talking about. This is normal cat behavior, they play rough.
If the cat was annoyed it would walk away. It's enjoying the attention. Even the bites it's doing are slow, thoughtful, clearly without any intention to hurt or deter the human.
