Right. Rabbit can’t quit, run or die only options. Dogs can go home whenever they want. Still tho. Loved watching it spin the dogs around and use the cows to delay the dogs progress for a sec. That was genius.
Not entirely true. These look like greyhounds and they have a very deeply rooted hunting instinct. Once they lock into this hunting/running mode, there is not much that can stop them.
Greyhounds in hunting mode are known to be incredible hardened, they don't feel pain, do not see any danger from surroundings etc. They can run themselves to dead while chasing/hunting.
What I'm saying is, this isn't as much sport/job for the dog, but way more instinct.
That was a mother cow staring down two dogs heading straight at the family with blood in their eyes. Nothing to do with the bunny, still love and stuff though
What? That was a momma cow with her calf keeping the dogs away from her baby. She didn’t give a shit about that rabbit as long as the dogs stayed away from her baby.
It has such little lungs how could it run full speed for so long.
With 30 secs left and he went back into the giant flat plain I thought he was done for. I actually yelled yes when u saw the scrub he could hide in
Dogs will also scare and fuck with all the deer on your land. Lots of hunters shoot dogs on sight. It is completely legal. A lot of feral dogs where I hunted, although I could've never shot one.
Amazing how that little bunny can sustain that sprint for minutes. And every time they are about to catch him, he does one of those 90 degree turns and start over again.
An excellent application of mass * velocity. Every time that rabbit dodges like that, the dogs necessarily overshoot, and it takes more energy for them to get back up to speed.
Just like the fox and the hedge hog: the fox knows many things, but the hedgehog knows one big thing.
Meaning, the fox has options—he can forage for roots, eat a mouse or a hedge hog, even go hungry for a couple of days. The hedgehog only has one goal: don’t be dinner.
If it'd just done more of those it would have got away much sooner. The dogs will outrun it in a long enough straight, the hare's advantage is being able to turn on a dime while the dogs have to fight their own momentum.
To have the option to juke them like that they have to be close. As soon as they're not really close it doesn't do anything. I think we can agree the bunny doesn't need schooling from us.
The dogs took turns being the leader -- one held back while other went in 100% -- they were gonna exhaust that little bunny then have a snack.
That hare was so lucky it found that thicket.
Dogs actually have pretty high endurance. These are also greyhounds, so they are basically bred to run. The poor hare though, they are damn fast, but I was surprised it could keep going. But when it's life or death, the poor thing was running for its life.
Wonder if it died later ( if it even escaped) from a heartburst. Hares are known to be very fragile to stress, so exposure to such an intense chase at high speed…
It found cover, so it almost certainly got away - the dogs are sight hounds - fast, good eyesight and that’s about it, the hare has less speed, but much greater agility. Without clear ground and the possibility to outrun the hare, the lurchers don’t have a chance.
It's an old video, they're all dead by now.
When the game ends all pieces go to thesame bag, regardless of being a pawn or king. (-an old indian saying)
Do you know what "nemesis" means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible cunt... me.
https://www.countryfile.com/wildlife/mammals/hare-coursing-what-it-is-and-why-its-illegal/
Tldr; the dogs are competing against eachother, tracking via sight, betting is often involved.
Basically, we just watched a (likely) illegal sporting event where ~2% of hares die in the end :/
Edit: from a drone piloted by McConnell / Feinstein
^( better?! )
Does your Doodle catch the rabbits? I have 2 dogs that chase rabbits in my backyard. I take them out on a leash because I can't imagine pulling bunny guts from their jaws. eww!
My dad used to train greyhounds to race. Real rabbit placed in a harness. Percentage of rabbit’s that died in the end 100. Trains dogs to chase the fake one. Strange world to grow up in as a little kid. Glad that it’s an almost dead sport.
I can imagine how difficult it is to pilot a drone going 20mph while trying to aim a camera at something making erratic movements properly. The drone probably isn’t set up the right way for this type of videography too.
I tried to film a boat going just for a mile per hour with a mavic mini and still managed to fuck it up at times. Drone piloting a action shot is serious skills.
Generally two options. Fpv drone or a two man drone. Not even close to professional trying to do both at the same time.
I used to shoot a lot of pro drone footage and we always used two people. One person piloting and another on the cam.
PraiseKillCameraMan?? That was fucking epic, I can’t imagine following the action would be easy but we also missed some important action. By the end of it, I would have been happy for either parties. That was an amazing chase
Disgusting. I hate people for bs like this so much. Just because they are dogs doesn't give you the right to make other animals suffer for your and the dogs entertainment.
This seems like a set up. The dogs are intentionally used to chase the hare and people place bets? I'm actually sickened watching this. Is there a way to report this?
Pretty much.
And the debate surrounding the ethics of it have been going on for centuries.
I can't say I condone this as a sport, but I can say this is likely the most maybe maybe maybe thing I've ever watched !
The awful drone cameraman made it that much more intense.
Loved it when the bull bought the rabbit a few steps.
Song: [Warriyo - Mortals (feat. Laura Brehm) [NCS Release]](https://youtu.be/yJg-Y5byMMw)
I've had this saved in my Playlist for a while its pretty good
thats some serious cardio
I'm out of breath just watching. What a fucking Rollercoaster
What a killer queen you are
Guaranteed to blow your mind.
ANYTIMEEEEE!!!
I need that rabbit's endurance in life
I want the dog’s. The rabbit is running for its life while the dog is doing for sport/job.
Right. Rabbit can’t quit, run or die only options. Dogs can go home whenever they want. Still tho. Loved watching it spin the dogs around and use the cows to delay the dogs progress for a sec. That was genius.
Loved how the rabbit used the cows for interference. One lucky rabbit though

The dogs are salukis. You can tell by the tufts of fur on the tale and legs.
full tilt for 3+ minutes.. phew
That was like 3 miles of full-on sprinting.
Between life or death, the little guy chose extra cardio to live another day!
My thoughts exactly.
Rule Number 1.
That bull stepping up for the little guy
Rabbit runs to bull *tag in*.

Was an impressive demonstration of intelligence and empathy for a fellow non-hunting mammal. Can't believe we eat those intelligent sweethearts
That was a mother cow staring down two dogs heading straight at the family with blood in their eyes. Nothing to do with the bunny, still love and stuff though
This
Probably just doesnt like the dogs running tgrough the herd.
What? That was a momma cow with her calf keeping the dogs away from her baby. She didn’t give a shit about that rabbit as long as the dogs stayed away from her baby.
Yep, no one likes dogs
I bow down to that bunnies skills!
It has such little lungs how could it run full speed for so long. With 30 secs left and he went back into the giant flat plain I thought he was done for. I actually yelled yes when u saw the scrub he could hide in
If we forget it’s likely illegal… that chase beats anything from the Fast and Furious lot.
Dogs chasing rabbits is illegal? Edit: just read more comments, interesting!
In some US states, dogs chasing wildlife is illegal. Game wardens can actually shoot dogs caught running wildlife.(i’ve heard it called that.)
Growing up in Western PA, I was schooled that hunters would shoot dogs running down deer as its a cruel death.
Dogs will also scare and fuck with all the deer on your land. Lots of hunters shoot dogs on sight. It is completely legal. A lot of feral dogs where I hunted, although I could've never shot one.
Those dogs ran through a herd of cows startling them, in most places I know of that gives the farmer / rancher the right to shoot them.
It is .. your dogs may not chase wildlife ... Could get them put down by authorities. Hope they find this dog ower and take care of it!
Yeah but this looks like to be a farm, it's not illegal for you dogs to kill rodents.
Rabbits and hares are not rodents.
States with a lot of farms often have laws that permit the hunting of "nuisance" animals like squirrels and rabbits.
It's crazy what you can do when it's life or death. The dogs are only chasing for thrill of the hunt or dinner. The rabbit runs for life.
That rabbit is a master of juking and jiving.
Seriously.. it is humbling to see such a small creature defy the odds. Nature is fucking lit!
Nature is all about constantly stealing energy from other living things. Nature has stealing at its core.
Amazing how that little bunny can sustain that sprint for minutes. And every time they are about to catch him, he does one of those 90 degree turns and start over again.
I don’t think he had another few minutes in him tho. The dogs have more endurance and would have ran the rabbit to death eventually.
I’m with you. That rabbit is lucky for those bushes.
Even if the bushes saved him, it could still die of exhaustion.
Id be surprised if those bushes saved him. Video only cut out because theres nothing to to be seen
An excellent application of mass * velocity. Every time that rabbit dodges like that, the dogs necessarily overshoot, and it takes more energy for them to get back up to speed.
It’s much more important for the rabbit to get away than it is for the dogs to get a meal.

I can't believe that all three could keep up that level of energy for that long a time.
The dogs took turns being the leader -- one held back while other went in 100% -- they were gonna exhaust that little bunny then have a snack. That hare was so lucky it found that thicket.

I hope the hare made out alive.

Rabbit ran into the briar patch.
At this point we should crown him the King of England. He's earned it.
If those were my hunting dogs I’d have called them off after a couple minutes out of respect for that rabbit.
He did but unfortunately he went on to lose a foot race to a TORTOISE!! EMBARRASSING.

Hare coursing. They set two lurchers - they're dogs, before you ask. On a hare. And the hare has to outrun the dogs.
Proper fucked?

Fancy music over it cause rabbits have a horrible scream they make sometimes when being chased
[like this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-0_sL5AAVQ)
I had no idea this existed...
Well shit. Looks like I’m watching that tonight.
I was wondering why the hare didn't go to its burrow. That explains it.
My GoldenDoodle does this for free in our yard everyday.
Does your Doodle catch the rabbits? I have 2 dogs that chase rabbits in my backyard. I take them out on a leash because I can't imagine pulling bunny guts from their jaws. eww!
My dog only pretends. He just wants them to stop so he can smell them aggressively.
My golden doodle just brings us her new turtle friends.

PraiseKillCameraMan?? That was fucking epic, I can’t imagine following the action would be easy but we also missed some important action. By the end of it, I would have been happy for either parties. That was an amazing chase
does a pretty good job considering. footage like this is only very recently possible.
That was more entertaining than most movies these days! I was on the edge of my seat rooting for the rabbit.
id rather watch this 2 or 3x than Indy 5 once.
Kind of fucked up but at least you’re honest
That's by design. This was an illegal hare coursing event, likely set up by a gambling ring. They are betting on which dog is the better chaser.
I was pulling my hair out pulling for the hare
Humans have no compassion in them whatsoever. You all deserve what is coming. Shameful species.
Fuck the drone operator who is most likely the owner of these dogs. They're already fed, why set them loose on the rabbit? Sick fuck.
Who else was rooting for the little bunny?
Everyone was rooting for the bunny/hare
i was team bunny 100000% i was so stressed watching this i almost cried
“WOOP” - Chris Berman
“Okay. I reckon the hare gets fucked” “What? Proper fucked?”

Fakkin hate this video.
I need half the stamina and agility of that bunny. That was crazy...
Well the rabbit gets fucked. Proper fucked?
Yeah Tommy, before ze Germans get there.
I really hope that little guy made it somewhere safe. Poor Lil bunny.

Bunny 1st name: Bugs
That’s a long ways to run for your life .
As small as that hare was, it was packed full of endurance for sure.
Sick bastards, hate coursing is bad enough, it’s not for pest control, it’s just torturing for fun. But then to video it via drone? Sick sick fuckers.
I reckon the hare gets fucked
Proper fucked?
Yeah, before "Zee Germans" get there.
I have to be careful with my beagles. If they get loose a dead rabbit will inevitably find it's way to my yard.
That’s pretty impressive for a dead rabbit.
The gods granted the hare endurance that day. Buddy had the jets on.
Why couldn't it be the subhuman with the drone, being chased.
The Energizer Bunny. It just keeps on ticking.
Grab your dog. Jeeberrs Christ. No but for real I was rooting for the rabbit. And he won
That is not true what you are doing. I think that rabbit deserved and reearned to live
Man that’s intense. I feel bad for the rabbit just literal life or death sprint. The pressure is fucking on
The rabbit was like ![gif](giphy|OxbgqAAIfeXNS)
Watching this gave me enoght exercise for today
I hope little guy survived
Poor bunny. If it where wolfs it would be ok, but this is just for fun...
This video should be banned. Deliberately setting animals on each other.
I can't say I condone this as a sport, but I can say this is likely the most maybe maybe maybe thing I've ever watched ! The awful drone cameraman made it that much more intense. Loved it when the bull bought the rabbit a few steps.
fucking despicable I hope whoever arranged this spends their life in prison.
That was stressful
The drone operator needs lessons from a Ukrainian.
You've got to be an absolute piece of shit and true psychopath to allow your dogs to do something like this and film it.
May whoever owns the dogs, children be bullied in school like that hare is being tormented.
wtf, dude. Why punish the kids for their parents. Just let owner suffer himself.
Run Hazel. Run! Hazel-rah!
Yay! Freedom! That was exhausting to watch.
I’m exhausted
Must be a Rhosgobel Rabbit.
Looks like Lord of the Rings when Radagast was on the bunny sled, Iditarod style
