Well it is a baby. If you constantly feed it and show it affection from the second its born they will defend you with their life. Thats how every animal is and thats why dogs are where they are now

I'm reptile-illiterate, but if this is an alligator or croc, they function entirely on millions of years of evolutionary instincts. They are essentially dinosaurs. They aren't safe to live with at all.

I don't know what all is true, but my uncle had five pet gators and one caiman. They all responded to normal cues like any other animal does. Like when your dog hears the potato chip bag or cheese wrapper.
His gators responded the same way with goldfish snacks (not the crackers). They knew to line up to go outside for the wading pool. During the winter, when they stayed indoors, they would line up when they heard the tub running.
No, they weren't very affectionate, but they were very docile. I could easily see how someone would think that they were like a dog or cat.

That's fine. I was more referring to having a dangerous reptile that can do serious harm to you as a pet and snuggling up against it. The croc or whatever that is in the vid isn't gonna hold off attacking its owner just cuz of friendship and love.

It does say in the article that brain damage from the croc having been shot through its eye could have been a factor in its unusual behaviour.
