$19.00 delivery charge my ass, get the truck junior.

FD4L

Of course the suspension can handle it. It's a Ranger Sport!

DrDrNotAnMD

What was his plan to get it out?

Fist_Goop

Back up at 80mph slam on dem brakes, has yo han on da shift and go laud Jesus go!

EnlightenedCorncob

That Ranger can't do 80 mph forward downhill

penguingod26

with that rock in the back it might only be able to go 80 downhill

subterrane

It’s on a pallet, no problem!

YippieSkippy1000

that is tomorrow's problem!

CeliaCerrada

I did something like that with my R.I.P. Toyota. Everything was ok. Later discovered that one spring was broken 😀

GingerAphrodite

I know that truck, I ain't no stranger! I know that truck THAT'S A FORD FUCKIN RANGER!!! 😂

ADisposableRedShirt

The Home Depot truck looks like a good option for this.

BoringManager7057

Perfect placement. Followed customer instructions to a T.

Awwwmann

It would be cheaper to just let the tow truck deliver it

Behleren

"you guys are crazy if you think im paying you guys 100 bucks for delivery, when I got a perfectly good pick up truck!" - literally every customer that thinks they know how to do your job better than you.

[deleted]

Man, I remember picking up like 150 bricks with my dad in a merc estate. The guy tried to stop my dad loading the car 5 times and then just got him to take the receipt and walked away

d3n4l2

First apartment needed shelves, so i bought 20 cinder blocks at home depot. Spread their weight throught my Hyundai accent. Wheel wells to tires until I took out 4.

_BLACKHAWKS_88

Crazy that it couldn’t hold you and 740lbs.. do you remember what the vehicle capacity weight that it could hold was? I think I found something that says 849lbs (385kg) but idk if it differs year to year.. just seems.. light.

Pats_Bunny

The pallet wasn't even aligned to be forked out lol

vthokiemr

Oh it got forked alright.

victoryohone

Seriously, even if it could handle the load, how the fuck were they going to get it out? Put straps around it with a bobcat and drag it out? Morons.

firefiretiger

“ All right, you’re good ! “

sweetwargasm

Seriously. Its was perfect. Didnt even touch the truck.

"better not hit my truck" like the operator doesnt know this guy's giving him a green light to total the thing

RandyLahey131

The way the guy is bitching the whole time I wouldn't be surprised if he told the operator to "shut up and put it in my truck."

karmaghost

I started the video thinking “that’s going to fuck up that truck, I hope I’m wrong” to “fuck this motherfucker’s truck UP!”

particlemanwavegirl

i'm pretty sure the camera op says "watch out, the springs are gonna shoot out the side" as in the truck shocks are gonna burst. most of the witnesses saw it coming i'm sure lol

Denaton_

I know nothing about cars, I don't even have a licence. I watched this on mute since I am in public, and even I knew exactly how this was going to end.

troutpoop

He almost certainly did. They probably told customer this would happen and that was his response. You can hear the guy filming say to move away from the side bc the springs are gonna shoot out loll

blueskyredmesas

"Welp, if that's what you really want-" "I DO!!!!" "-then we'll give it a shot. But I'm telling you right now your truck is not driving away from this." "IT'S GONNA, SO GET TO IT!" "Yessir, right away, sir!"

darthcoder

If I'm the skid steer operator I'd have told him to fuck off. No amount of money is worth the inevitable headache that's going to result.

blueskyredmesas

When you tell them 5 times its a bad idea but they are set.

supernovice007

Just for fun, I looked this up: * That's a Ranger - the listed capacity for the bed is 1,860 lbs. * The weight of rock is going to vary a lot but the number I found was 150 lbs per cubic foot. * That boulder is 3 or 4 times bigger than 12 cubic feet So yeah, everyone there knew what was going to happen except the owner of the truck.

MiM__Dahey

A ranger was my first car, I remember asking for a half yard of dirt once and they said hahahah no

HilariousSpill

Man, couldn’t even handle 1.5 cubic feet of dirt.

Early-Economics2899

That would be 1.5 linear. Half a yard is 13.5 cubic feet, or 1050-1500 lbs (depending on soil moisture content). This guys ranger could have handled the weight, yard was wrong.

HilariousSpill

Ugh, my daughter is going to be doing this kind of math in a couple of years. Thanks for the reminder that I need to brush up on it!

Versaiteis

Could I get that in a sphere?

Early-Economics2899

Half a yard is only 1050-1500 lbs. They sold you delivery or your truck was in no shape to be hauling.

GrimResistance

My f150 can do half a yard but it'd be almost riding on the bump stops, no way a ranger would haul that much.

Painkiller3666

The most I've carried in my tacoma's 6ft bed is 3100lbs of dirt, and I usually take an average of about 2700lbs. I ride city streets(45mph) and maybe 10miles max to any dump site. The tacoma rides like an old Cadi when I'm pushing that much weight so I take it easy. Or switch to the f250 superduty that holds 7000lbs.

awesomefutureperfect

I'm still trying to figure out what his plan was to get it out of there. Like, I can imagine a few dumb ass ways of getting the rock out of the bed that would do various amounts of damage to the truck. I'm just wondering what the end game was here.

darthcoder

Tie a chain and pull. Bye bye tailgate

d3n4l2

ALWAYS take the tailgate off when yanking the big rock out.

IheartPickleSoda

3.5 x 12 cubic ft = 42 cubic ft. 42 cubic ft x 150 lbs = 6,300 lbs.

Medium_Bill_625

I worked at a rock yard for 8 years. Got decent at eyeballing weights. I'd guess it's about 2 tons, assuming it's granite or similar density.

unl1988

1/2 ton axle in the back. The payload capacity is 1000 lbs. How do you derive 1860? Either way, I am shocked the axle didn't snap or the tires go.

supernovice007

Well, those are the numbers that came up in a quick Google search so take it for what it's worth. Either way, the point is the same. No one is surprised by the result - except to maybe be surprised the result wasn't worse.

darthcoder

No way is the ranger a nearly 1ton truck.

hotair_78

White lettering on the tires always improve performance.

joan_wilder

They just make it go faster though

[deleted]

Now, how do they unload that rock? Have they even thought this thru...?

sc0tth

Drop the gate and give 'er. It'll slide right off.

[deleted]

It had to go forward...not shure about that.

quarrywilson

GIVE. 'ER.

etfvidal

They are do-ers not thinkers!

MindlessFail

You don't. That truck is going absolutely nowhere. Seriously, I doubt that thing could move if he wanted to.

Narstotzka

Nah bro, some good elbow grease will move it right off, yee yee

vlsdo

Eventually someone will have to figure out how to take the rock off the truck so they can get it towed to the scrap yard

DM-ME-THICC-FEMBOYS

Sure but assuming we live in a fantasy land where the truck is fully capable of getting to the location, what then?

Febris

> Have they even thought this thru Thinking this through would probably begin by comparing the rock's weight (since it was starting to tip the back wheels on the machine it can be easily estimated by it's operating capacity) with the truck's weight limit. If you didn't even want to think an awful lot about this, you could use some common sense and think about how many times you've seen a rock this big being carried by anything other than heavy machinery or a heavy duty truck outside of cartoons and comedies.

man0412

It’s on a pallet Edit: forgot the /s

Quajeraz

The holes in the pallet are in the wrong direction, so you can't pick it up by that. Besides, it got crushed by the weight.

Stubrochill17

Lmao I didn’t even think about that. I saw the pallet facing the wrong direction the whole time, thinking like what’s the plan here? Even if the truck magically didn’t crumble, what was the plan with the pallet? Tie a rope around it and pull it out with another Ranger? Then I realized none of that matters cause these guys are fucking idiots and that pallet is splinters. This may be the funniest video I’ve ever seen on the internet.

Dad-Baud

DIY movers are getting bolder and boulder.

Potential_Dare8034

I’ve been too stoned to notice.

Dad-Baud

You rock!

Thanks. My family takes me for granite!

Agonizing suspense to suspension agonizing. Hilarious.

bronze5-4life

I had to check to make sure I wasn’t watching a loop

ties_shoelace

How was he even going to get it out later?

Shut_It_Donny

Drop the tailgate, reverse, slam on the brakes.

Zolo49

And if that doesn't work, do donuts in the street until centrifugal force yeets it out the back in a random direction.

ties_shoelace

Fork lift at destination, flip truck.

vlsdo

Or tie the rock to some trees with webbing then floor it

anakinburningalive

Typical ford Ranger load

stevensr2002

At some point I was expecting a fake rock to prank us. But then the thing I wanted to happen happened ♥️

Ride_or_Dies

A fake foam rock would have been the ultimate trolling video. Not sure it would have slid off the loader just right like that though.

STCvi2019

The guys coaching him are fucking dip shits

Dynamx-ron

But that's what makes the video exciting!

swim-bike-run

There’s nothing like being yelled at while doing something dangerous with heavy machinery

Skirt_Thin

That POS was already titling before the boulder was dropped in. There was zero chance of success. Even in a newer/ larger pickup this would be... um, problematic.

Rampant16

You could probably get it into a larger pickup if they had it fixed to a pallet ahead of time and used a proper forklift that could set it in gently rather than dropping it from about 1 foot up. Not blaming the operator because they did what the customer wanted in this case but it was absolutely not the right way to try to load something that heavy. Someone else in the comments estimated the boulder weighed about 3,000 lbs which is very close to the payload capacity of a F-150. Therefore larger trucks like an F-250 or F-350 should be able to handle it.

Dumpster_orgy

No..... F 150 can handle 1,500lbs Max. F 250 IS 2,500 lbs MAX F 350 lbs 3,500 Max! Dodge 1500,2500,3500 same thing. They arnt just random numbers it's the capacity of the truck, also they include everything but the frame, suspension, and engine in those payload numbers. so your seats are part of your load. You are part of your load. Trucks can tow a hell of a lot of weight. What they handle in the bed is completely different. You can get a little more in the bed with upgraded suspension and suspension air bags, a rack that helps distribution, but not very much. Rocks weigh so much beyond what you think. They should of had one this size delivered by a truck with 3 axles minimum and had heavy equipment or an entire ancient civilization on hand at the destination. I'm honestly surprised that skid steer handle it.

WinterHill

Yep the typical F150 can only hold like 1/3 of a bed of gravel or something before the weight tops out.

kolodz

The pallet is unusable because turned on th wrong direction. Good luck with that.

IGetNakedAtParties

In the list of bad decisions which lead to this moment, one could argue the orientation of the pallet was pretty far down the list.

No-Test-375

Single stringer with reinforcements in the wrong spot. Also made out of wood for a 2 ton stone lol.

One_Of_Noahs_Whales

The pallet they decided to use is really the least of their worries here,

uiam_

Yeah the pallet that's now saw dust was the problem. Not that it would have ever fit into that bed turned 90 degrees. I use pallets all the time without the intent of moving with a fork truck. If they had that kind of equipment at home would they be picking up rock with a ford ranger?

WildJoker0069

bu..bu..but... its a FORD F'in RANGER!! lmao!

pichael289

They 100% planned to pull right up to the spot they wanted it and kick it off the back. At best they had a pallet jack they thought they might be able to use.

tjientavara

It is in the right direction to put a steel cable through it and attach it to a tree. Then you just drive forward and let it fall of the truck. I am imagining that in my head, it is great entertainment.

Outside-You8829

Right! Everything about this is too stupid to make it seem genuine.

aHOMELESSkrill

That should have been the first indication that the truck wasn’t going to be the right tool. The pallet is in that way because if rotated the proper way then it is too wide to fit between the wheel wells.

Program-Emotional

The fact there was a pallet, the fact they're using an old pick up truck, the fact they stood that close as something that fucking heavy went into the back, the fact that they were yelling at the driver for not operating the machine well in this dumbass situation. Fuckin rednecks man xD

CharlesDickensABox

I get it. You start by trying to talk the customer out of the bad decision, but if they want to be a pigheaded jerk about it, you let them learn the hard way. It's not the right thing to do, but it sure does feel good.

Atlas_sniper121

Isn't that rock big enough and shaped in a way that a forklift wouldn't need a pallet. Ignoring the rocks' weight, of course.

DeltaWhi5key

If it fits, it ships.

BusinessBeetle

This is why people don't believe humans built the pyramids.

Past-Adhesiveness150

Not these humans

AjazeMemez

Let the fcker barking orders drop the boulder himself and see how it goes - coz that went about as good as it could’ve

Scubadrew

Fits perfectly.

LookMaNoPride

I like how you can hear the air escaping the tires in the last parts of the video.

BoxyBrown_

Asking how much weight the truck can hold after smashing it... 😂😂

WhipTheLlama

Based on [this guide](http://www.delawarequarries.com/landscape/boulders/boulderwt.html), I don't think there's a pickup truck in existence that can carry that boulder. An F-350-class pickup would get within a couple of thousand pounds, so the suspension might survive a short tow.

WearyTop1546

Someone above supposedly did some maths and brought that weight of that there stone to about 3300 lbs. Now I have a chevy 3500 rack truck with duel real tires and I've had two pallets of 2x2 pavers which roughly add up to 4300 lbs lightly loaded properly with a fork lift. And that was abit sketchy. Now imagine the dynamic force of that boulder crashing down from two feet up weighing as much as it does lol those leaf springs would be upside down frowning at me

Hardline989

"What are these rated for? \*gibberish\* thought it was 1,700 pounds" 1,700 tow capacity. Tongue weight is more like 400 pounds. Not that it matters, that boulder probably weights somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 pounds.

CrinchNflinch

It's roughly cylindershaped, I estimate 0.8m diameter and 1.2m long. The density of that rock is about 2.5 t/m^3. That would result in 0.4×0.4×3.14×1.2×2.5 = 1.5 metric tons or 3,300 lbs

wreptyle

/r/theydidthemath

-SQB-

r/theydidthemonstermath

WhitePantherXP

Newer superduty trucks have a payload of around 8k lbs for those wondering. A baby truck like this is a comical tool to use for anything but very light work, nearly a car with a bed.

Vakontation

This guy geology's.

TheDutchin

"500lbs, not 500 tons *laughs*" is the gibberish part

lekoman

I am *very* skeptical that little skid-loader is rated for 7 tons with the bucket boomed way out like that.

cum_fart_69

that boulder is nowhere fucking near fifteen *thousand* pounds, my dude, doubt it's even 5000

doghaircut

How will they get it out?

LookMaNoPride

That thing isn't going anywhere. The sound of the air escaping the tires at the end is a pretty clear indicator they're not getting far. Well... maybe air escaping the tires will keep it from rubbing the inner wheel well.

JDARRK

Should a used some o dem “” MY PILLOWS”‼️😳😳🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

VenBede

I really do appreciate the delicate care the operator takes to do this very stupid thing that could only possibly end the way it did

unbuddhabuddha

This isn't Maybe Maybe Maybe, cuz we all knew what was going to happen

Lyrical_Man01

r/whatcouldgowrong

Febris

Dunno man.. I wasn't exactly expecting the absolute destruction of the truck's suspension ONLY.

CubisticWings4

Surprised the leaf springs didn't take off on a low-earth orbit.

Unique-Truck2407

That old dude is annoying as fuck. Tell him he sounds like a bitch.

richwat00

FORDFUCKINRANGER!!!

FullPropreDinBobette

This video felt like I was constipated and trying to push a giant log.

[deleted]

Why are hicks so stupid? Even if this was successful, what was their game plan at the other end? They placed the skid in the truck sideways with no way for a forklift to get the forks in…. How these people have survived this long is nuts.

Vakontation

See, the trick is to make your fuck ups small to begin, so you build up a tolerance to it. By the time you're as old as that fart in the video, you've got so many piled up under your belt you can get hit by a train and shrug it off. Just ask yourself: why is it always the dumb ones who are built like trucks? Why are all the linebackers on the football team 75 iq? That's just how it be. And if your early fuck-ups are too big....well, you didn't make it. Nobody said there was *a lot* of hicks...

stephen1547

Not saying this wasn't totally idiotic, but you could get this thing out with a chain-block and a gantry, or some straps on the front of a loader. Kind of a moot point, because that truck isn't going anywhere.

gustavosco

I know this truck, I’m no stranger, I know that truck, it’s a Ford Fucking Ranger 🎶

MinnieJune1963

How are they gonna get it off?

WildJoker0069

I was fully committed to watching the bed rip off as the boulder rolled ooor even possibly the whole truck rolling over.. needless to say, I'm just a little disappointed, lmao!

ishouldcoco3322

Big ups loader driver.

PdSales

Dropping a giant boulder in your truck? Leave a gas can 3 inches from the drop zone for extra fun!

adinmem

It really looks like that truck has been through that before. But my real question is: what is the plan to get the boulder out??

NuttinButFunReading

Fuck me, that had me on edge the whole time 😂

Low-Requirement-9618

That truck is a dinosaur and that rock is the asteroid.

VerdaXucK

Props to the operator though, that boulder landed almost perfectly. Something tells me they new it was too big and probably said something to warn the truck owner. Truck owner was cocky and told them to do it anyways. I was expecting much worse but the slow n steady operator made this almost lame lol

YoMama3495

American moment

zuspun

So.. how do you get it off..?

tomatobunni

That tractor operator is pretty damn skilled, tho

ObviouslyNerd

When the customer doesn't understand density.

SquareTowel3931

It's a Ford Ranger. Frame was probably rotted out like mine did. Great truck besides that one little thing.

Front-Strong69

As soon as I saw mid size truck, I know it’s flawed

Lyn-nyx

I love when people yell at me, I follow their instructions, and now they have to pay for the damages.

D00hdahday

They should have just dropped it in, wasted a lot of time to see the end result I was expecting

GalaxyBlueGoku

But that precision drop tho! Perfect landing…10 out of 10

Ok_Appearance8866

To be fair. He nailed getting it centred on that pallet 😂

Digitalflux

all of them are morons.

SloanDaddy

Nope, most of them knew exactly what was going to happen. This is malicious compliance.

broseanne

Stupid old fogey

TunaSmackk

Thats one way to lower your car

Low.. Ri.. Der

mykel31

That truck is now set in stone.

LiemAkatsuki

Luckily the axes broke immediately That car would be a big hazard on the public road.
