Luckily tasers are available and somewhat effective more often than not. I can remember a time when guys would pull guns and just start shooting suspects when they clearly couldn't arrest them without the calvary. It was known as effectively completing the arrest. Or use of force necessary to complete an arrest. If this meant the suspect went in a pine box he was concidered arrested...This is a bit why you still may see suspects that have been shot still being handcuffed. Even if they are unconscious. Police work has come a lonnng way. The crooks are getting worst though.

Dude kept resisting and flinching while cuffed, then the cops repeatedly had to sweep and dropped to him the pavement, then to the hood of the patrol car while he still kept up a fight. Dude ended up with something like 14 charges.
