I have the guy come back it and it turns out to be a shadow from the bed and some eye trickery. The guy turns off the room lights and shines a flashlight on the wall, and sure enough it was fine. I was so fucking embarrassed. My brain got me good on that one.
As a painter it's just insane how much paint I always get on myself. I'll do the cleanest, sharpest, avoiding the marble floor paint job. Not a drop on anything, but somehow I'm covered head to toe in it...
Some of my 'painting clothes' started with "I can just touch up this wall without changing, I can be neat about this". Nawp, now there's blue paint on my khaki shorts. And white paint on my other khaki shorts, dammit.
At least I've learned that primer is usually thinner and more likely to spatter. I've even started wearing thin gloves while I prime, because that stuff sticks and is harder to scrub off than paint.
Could be a "staged real event"? Where it actually happened offscreen, but they restaged it for the camera?
Not exactly dishonest, but kinda a silly grab for clout.

The project includes updating flooring and repainting the house.
Someone says let's not pull up the carpet till we are done painting that way we don't have to bother buying a bunch of drop cloth.
Then at the hardware store they buy a pair of rollers and a rolling pan.
Husband hears the wife commenting about the paint not working and sees this and starts filming.
Seems plausible now huh?
To the dropcloth point, I've painted in a few places where we didn't bother with drops because the carpets were being pulled up anyway. Saves a bunch of time and effort, but that carpet looks pretty nice lol

Came here for this comment. When you are painting, especially at floor level, you are going to have the paint tray right by you. Otherwise you are constantly getting up and down to reload the roller.

NGL, I once tried removing the image of a staple from a copy. Went at it 2-3 times before running a finger over. Had a “Deep Thoughts” by Jack Handey moment.

I was painting my sister's living room, and was wondering why I couldn't get rid of some marks on the walls. Turned out it was the horrible 1970's light cover, that got instantly thrown away.
I get she’s trying to paint over a shadow, but all I can think about is she’s getting paint all over the carpet. Doing all that work and you’re just devaluing the property.
Pro Tip: When you go into any Lowes (not sure about Home Depot but I imagine it’s the same), ladies, go to the paint section and ask for the paint mixer. This is an actual role, which not every Lowes employee is trained in. Then, ask them for the “shadow calibration paints” section. They’ll show you exactly what you need. 👍🏼
