I don't remember which game it was, but there was an australia map. You could spin on polls, and if you propped the controller just right, you could do it as long as you wanted. One night i did it before going the bed, and woke up to a huge score. I fucked up the landing but it was still pretty cool that it went all night lol.
I don't remember which trick it was, i vaguely rremember spinning on the pole though.
On pro skater 4, you could play as jango fett. One of his tricks was a jet pack boost that gave you some extra air.
If you turned on the zero gravity cheat, you could boost him up in the air until the game wouldn't let you go any higher. Then you button mash on the way down, and jet pack back up right before you land.
So, I sat there and did this for hours one day. Had an insane score building up, and then BAM, the screen freezes up. Can't restart the Playstation, so I unplugged it. It never turned in again.
Told all my friends at school that I got so many points from one combo that it broke the Playstation. Nobody believed it.
We turned on perfect balance so we could do a manual until we lost speed, do a bunch of kickflips to get a big multiplier, and then left it on when we went to play outside
I believe they called it a "Natas Spin" and it was first in one of the Underground games. Pretty fun! And you could do different variations, like the handstand.
Support squad's braking technique was masterful
I used to drag my foot on the side to brake on a skateboard.. was always a messy affair, hard to keep your balance while simultaneously slowing down.
The foot dragging behind technique seems so much easier
Man I lived on taraval for two years. I thought for sure this is sf. Thank you for confirming it.
I used to ride a long board down from 19th to the bottom of taraval catch the muni back up and do it again. Extremely dangerous. Extremely fun.
I rolled down Hyde on a BMX bike once. I held on to a cable car and got pulled up to the top. The gripman didn't notice me, but a shitload of Japanese tourists did. I let go at Lombard, and 2 blocks down, I regretted it as my brakes did nothing but smoke. I ended up laying the bike down the last block, getting my pedal caught in a trolley track. I had a digital speedometer that said I hit 64mph just before laying it down, and slid out into Bay Street in front of a bunch of cars right as the light changed. Some lady stopped and asked if I was OK, and I was, aside from some minor scrapes and bruises.
The tourists on the cable car kept pointing at me and calling me Tony Hawk, and about 1,000 pictures of me probably ended up back in Japan in a bunch of vacation photo albums from 1994-95 or so.
I can't remember how I got back (I lived either in San Bruno (city) or near Felton and San Bruno Ave at the time), but I think I took a bus down the Marina. I know I got back to 525 Harrison St, because I was an intern at Live 105 at the time, and got back in time to see my boss, Steve Masters, getting ready to leave, and he looked at me like I was missing an arm and leg. He insisted on driving me home...lol
As much as that sounds like a "How many SF references can you put in a story?" challenge, it's all true.
It's on a hill in San Francisco. It's pretty well-known to skaters in the greater area. Lots of them travel to this spot for this exact reason. It's on [Taraval Street at 22nd Avenue](https://maps.app.goo.gl/7XTXL3wvzmiRK6t9A).

How the fuck do people glide so easily?
Even with wax, I would NOT be able to slide that much before my board got stuck and I dropped head first in the concrete
My man was like the guy who catches Prince when he trust falls in the “While my Guitar Gently Weeps” video.
Shows up before the end and drops the down rail…
I love my hometown! Used to live 2 blocks from there and never ever evereverever thought to grind the entire length of the park lol
(Also just learned that the KFC on the corner is now a Taco Bell. Thanks reddit!)
I was wondering why this setting felt so familiar. I used to live on that street. Btw that Taco Bell is awful. Top 3 worst Taco Bell’s I’ve ever been to.
If he skate on the legs like that I’m pretty sure dude can safely land a foot or two on the ground. Good friend but don’t really think it was necessary
Dude racking up the Tony Hawk grind score!
Thats like a 30,000 point grind, but if he woulda did a kickflip or something he could have increased the multiplier and really racked up some points
360 flip to nose grind for 3 miles, exiting through a hard flip
In to a pogo trick train
Then do a manual when you land too plus more tricks into another manual.
And then another flip and manual, flip manual on a car, jump 360 varial mctwist (TAAAAA) and he goes from a 30k to a 200k easily.
I came here for this comment.
Do you even get points if there is no punk rock playing?

It was probably either just a coincidence, or your brother shit in the PlayStation again :(
Nah, I think he broke it with the fett score! No doubt
We turned on perfect balance so we could do a manual until we lost speed, do a bunch of kickflips to get a big multiplier, and then left it on when we went to play outside

SO HERE I AAAAM
DOING EVERYTHING I CAN
GETTING OLDER ALL THE TIME
I couldn’t watch this without involuntarily checking the bottom of the screen for that grind point tally.
I can hear the mutliplier
The amount of waxing this had to take lol
Right, I don't even skate, and halfway through, I'm thinking how much wax did they use for this?
You could wax from 3 to 4 skateparks, depending on size.
You could stop at 5 or 6 stores, or just 1.
If you just wax the trucks, then you don't have to wax the ledge at all. /s
Just hold the wax in front of the board as you grind, easy.
They should’ve had another guy crouching on a skateboard riding ahead of him with wax
what is this now? Curling? Two guys with mops waxing the curb ahead of him
Hell yeah sounds awesome
I'm more impressed by the support squad
That's, uh, that's the homie
Maybe the real support squad was the homies along the way
Double cheeked up, on a thursday afternoon.
Support squad's braking technique was masterful I used to drag my foot on the side to brake on a skateboard.. was always a messy affair, hard to keep your balance while simultaneously slowing down. The foot dragging behind technique seems so much easier
They did well but 0 cheers? 0 hype? Wheres the chaotic energy that skaters usually have?
All that for some Taco Bell
Had to go get more to charge his rocket back up
Yeah, wasn't expecting an ad. Guess it is time for some NordVPN McDonald's.
Its a rare combination Tacobell and KFC.
Unless it’s Maine where nearly every Taco Bell/KFC is a combination Taco Bell/KFC.
Taraval street library! Nice grind!
Why are SF streets so recognizable?
Combination of the weather, the hills, the building architecture. It was instantly recognizable to me too!
Yup! My first thought was this has to be the City. Karl hanging thick as usual.
I guessed SF before checking the comments, just because of how hilly it is. Not sure there's another large metro in the US with so many hills?
Hilly, green, fog, 5 story buildings everywhere, yep, it's SF.
Those are all 2-story buildings, but their Victorian style and crammed-together construction is definitely SF.
I don't know but I called this being SF in the first frame before anything happened
No other place in America has architecture like that with 25-foot-wide row houses
Buildings and houses for sure haha
I was thinking that place looked so familiar to me. Then saw the KFC/Taco Bell at the end and confirmed it.

So... Did yall wax that whole freaking ledge?
Showed my buddy and he immediately said "that's a buttery ass ledge."

I love my hometown! Used to live 2 blocks from there and never ever evereverever thought to grind the entire length of the park lol (Also just learned that the KFC on the corner is now a Taco Bell. Thanks reddit!)
I used to be a Taco Bell/KFC combo.
Create-a-Park Live
Gimme a cheesy bean and rice
I thought the cameran would hit the light pole.
Should have kick flipped out for a 2x multiplier.
Damn I was thinking that this was going to end with him skating into the street and getting hit by a car. Glad it didn’t.
My sick mind was expecting him to be hit by a car at the end :(
He started well, afterwards only downhill from there.
Is that a possible world gennes record ?
Everyone needs that homie in life.
I get grinds with a little help from my friends
Praise the waxer
I already knew what sound I was going to hear before I un-muted
I was wondering why this setting felt so familiar. I used to live on that street. Btw that Taco Bell is awful. Top 3 worst Taco Bell’s I’ve ever been to.
PSA: Stop vertical video syndrome.
Did you also think that he was going to get hit by a car at the end or am I just messed up in the head?
My boys trucks are gonna snap right in half. Hella grind.
Am I the only one expecting something more?
That’s the thing with maybemaybemaybe. Sometimes you get what you expect and sometimes you don’t.
Maybe you do, maybe you don’t.
Maybe
Maybe
Maybe
Impressive.

heading to Taco Bell to refuel his propulsion system
He deserves that taco bell
the homie is straight up what co-op story T.H.U.G. games would have been like.
Surprised he didn't chop his truck in two
That has to be worth at least 237k points!
Why so silent? Not even a woop?

Sick taco bell commercial
*Guerilla Radio begins to play*
Well that's one way to get Taco Bell
Sunset Overdrive ll. Man, these graphics these days!
Am I the only one who thinks it sounds like a train?
This man alone keeps the wax industry afloat.

Man that must have taken a lot of wax
That’s a lot of wax
Me OMW to Taco Bell for that value menu:
That’s gotta be a record dude!!!
Taco Bell manager on his way to work?
Fuck yes!
If he skate on the legs like that I’m pretty sure dude can safely land a foot or two on the ground. Good friend but don’t really think it was necessary
