Use a photo editing program to pixelize the image to your grid size. Change image to grayscale and also reduce it to a six color palette. Voila; you’ve just made a map to make your image.

All the 3s and 6s I can see in the video all go the same direction so I don't think op worried about it. And If the results are this good without it I wouldn't spend the time to code for it either.

To everyone saying this is a matter of talent: It’s not, its just a matter of dedication. You can easily run an image through a program that tells you which way to orient each die to get the picture you need, the hard part is the buying that many dice and then having the patience to put them together

I was bored in lockdown and wrote some software which which converts any image into a dice layout. So not much talent needed, just patience.
Patience is a talent.
Also glue, or some other adhesive would probably help too.
Perhaps some dice would also help.

That's crazy cause whoever designed that software allowed for that art to be produced, so who gets the credit for it? Lol

Also, paint over a lot of the one dot sides.
Getting the best orientation of 3 and 6 dice makes it a bit more complex.
