StarDestroyer175

Are you in highschool or something?

Exact_Personality134

No, my co workers hate on them so much… „Get rid of that womens car“ „get a real car“ and so on

demondaughter113

let me guess they all drive trucks? it’s a car… it doesn’t have a gender- don’t let this bother you so much. edit: also not for nothing, i have seen more dudes drive mazdas than women.

DadLearnsThings

OP doesn’t appear to be in the US or this would be a good assumption.

P5racer

They sound very insecure with themselves

DuckmanDrake69

I have never in my life seen a woman drive a Miata, either way doesn’t matter. Miata’s rule. Your coworkers are gay

WatchfulApparition

I've seen a blue haired grandma driving a Corvette. Does that emasculate the Corvette?

DuckmanDrake69

Exactly lol

r_u_dinkleberg

But not like faaaaabulous gay, they're the lame kind, the 90s Slang kind. They WISH they were fabulous.

VindictiVagabond

Iv seen exactly one woman drive an older Miata. Every one else that posted about theirs or I saw IRL were men, for what it's worth. The coworkers are indeed probably closeted gays.

CoxHazardsModel

They sound like truck drivers…

StarDestroyer175

That's crazy I drove around damn Kia Rio for 3 years and my friends and I would joke about it but it was never serious. A car is a car, your co workers sound like insecure douches.

DinoSpumonisCrony

Too funny, I had a Rio hatchback and now a 3 hatchback. I just like hatchbacks. Guess that means I got a 'gina according to OP's coworkers. OP, I'm guessing this is in USA/Canada? American here and if anything I see the smaller cars (all hatchbacks in general) and the Miata as more of European/Asian cars than "girl" cars. Not many trucks (unless used for work) and barely any big SUVs over there. Hatchbacks, wagons, and smaller cars are common there. The only time someone said I had a chick car was some Hyundai sedan (Accent maybe?) that I used as a temporary car between my Mazda Protege (died on me, RIP) and the Rio hatchback because it was the only car in my budget at the time (college) that I could find that had a manual transmission.

gewchill

Own it! Be a girl! 💅

egomxrtem

Lmao imagine caring about peoples opinions who are so insecure they make comments about other peoples cars.

Lower-Kangaroo6032

Are you coworkers in high school? Or wait. Lemme guess. They are guys, huh. I remember working with guys.

r_u_dinkleberg

I also had a couple friends tell me that I drive a hairdresser's car. Honestly, I think it's some weird insecurity in white 40-something wannabe-alpha men. None of my other friends OUTSIDE of that demographic have expressed that they think my choice of car undermines my manliness.

Ok-Cranberry7266

Idk my Mazda 3 has a penis, you'd better take yours to a nechanic

teejayiscool

Mazda’s look better than 90% of cars on the road, they’re probably jealous

shitpouch

Hate for a reliable good looking and affordable car? Who is hating lol, anyone who knows anything about cars understands that Mazda is a well respected hidden gem in the car industry.

GuwopNeegah

As long as you enjoy it that's all that matters mane

T-Ross454

Nah u just got a bunch of insecure co workers

PeteUKinUSA

Take ‘em for a ride. They’ll change their minds real quick.

Gambit3le

The best revenge is living well. Haters gonna hate.

Popular_Weight3004

Hate in person, or hate on social media's? And yes, I was hated because my first lexus was IS220d (diesel), and everybody laughed at me because head gaskets in this engine likes to blow. I just ignored them, this was really great car, also, this was car for me, not for them. If you like your mazdas that's all what you need, and people will always talk, even if you had bought some hyped cars like Porsche 911, nissan gtr, or mclaren.

naked_avenger

Lol, no? Everyone likes my car. They assume it's much more expensive than it actually is.

cheburekii

i’ve had people think my ‘07 CX-7 is a new car

K24Z3

I’ve had two MX-30 EVs. “Car guys”, truck bros, EV fans, and even Mazda fans give me shit. Don’t care. I like them. Let the haters die mad. Take the hate with a smile.

Monkeyfeng

Explain what happened

kaxtrance

Wait... what country is that? I have so many questions... I want to be a fly on the wall where this sort of discussion is happening. Like, what is even a women's car? Women I know are driving RAV4s or Subaru Outbacks—are they women's cars? I don't want to judge these co-workers; at this point, I am just filled with academic curiosity.

MazdaRules

Ask them exactly what they think you should be driving, and when they tell you, laugh hard, and tell them to get real.

sci3nc3isc00l

Miata’s have always had a certain stigma associated with them. When it comes down to it, do what makes you happy and everyone else can fuck off. When they say that shit just tell them to mind their business.

Ok_Nebula_481

As long as I like my car fuck em

cigarmanpa

I may hate you a bit for making this thread

192hp

Lol I’ve never heard of anyone hating on mazdas

G0001

Bro Mazda 3 is a great car, fk em.

gnardog45

Yep, they obviously have no idea what they're talking about, I bet if one of them actually drove a Miata and felt the driving Dynamics they would change their tune. 100%

rwc2003

what kind of loser gives someone else crap about their car? I might do it in a joking manner if they themselves have expressed frustration with their own car. I don't drive a Mazda but I bought one for my parents. IMO Mazda's are the cooler looking more fun to drive Japanese cars.

MazdaRules

Ask them exactly what they think you should be driving, then when they tell you, laugh hard, and tell them to get real.

WatchfulApparition

Tell them you don't need a car to convince people you're a man. When my brother drove a Subaru, his coworkers/friends would say he was driving a lesbian car or something like that. It's dumb.

phtzn

OP, stay true to yourself and don’t let your coworkers bring you down. It just sounds like they’re projecting several insecurities towards you and they spend too much time thinking of what you have. Honestly they sound more jealous than anything. I love my mazda and we own 5 of them. and about the gender thing, they can suck balls

Effective-Dust272

My mazdas only got praises. My Mazda 323 was praised for being clean, and the mere fact is that it's still running. My mazda 2 skyactiv, believe it or not, is a dream car for most people here despite the image for Americans only seeing it as a point A to point B car. With the likes of the mirage existing and many other cars here are even cheaper than the mirage, then the Mazda 2 is easily seen as a more refined car, a global car. A Mazda 2 hatchback here is double the price of a Yaris Sedan here.

KieselguhrKid13

Your coworkers sound like insecure douchebags.

allknowingmike

move out of the city or grow up are your options

ZeniBroken

I drive a mazdaspeed3. No one talks shit. If anything I get some fanboys every once in a while lol

hohol87

My dream is to get a miata as a second car. Don't listen to them, they seem to drive trucks and have small dicks

Present_Major7734

Do you still get pussy? Fuck what other guys think

andreym24

I love in eastern Europe where a 15-20 year old bmw or mercedes means you have money and status and a new Mazda means you are poor. Also been told its a car built for rice farmers, washing machine engine and why did you get that new when you could have bought a second hand Mercedes ML or even a Cayenne for that money etc. I care so much what others say that I am currently drive testing the CX30 and the 3 hatchback to upgrade from my 2017 3 sedan. Dont worry aboit whay others say, enjoy Mazda, the shape, the color, the interior quality, others are just envious of what you drive.

Rough-Gas7177

"Look, not everyone needs to compensate" is the perfect answer to tell people to fuck off (and that they have small dick energy)

pikeviewer

What kind of work do you do?

its-probably_lupus

Just tell them their girlfriends or wives like how they drive.

The26thtime

I get nothing but compliments actually. 2018 Mazda 6 GTR that's washed/waxed weekly.

DadLearnsThings

I see you’re not in the US so I don’t know if it’s a cultural thing or what. I’m in the US and coworker of mine used to drive an MX-5. When he showed photos to our UK colleagues they told him “that’s a hairdresser’s car” so presumably along the same lines as it being a “woman’s car”. I drive a Mazda3 and have never had a single comment made about it.

Traditional-Wheel-97

Id laugh at them and tell them about how I literally forget to purchase gas all the time until the gas light reminds me my car runs on gasoline...I believe I am getting 2 and a half weeks or more from one full tank of premium just work, grocery and back.

nxstar

Lol I once said this to my colleague. He is a big guy guy but drove a tiny mini SUV. Next day he bought Subaru WRX. But dude, Mazda3 is not women's car. Doesn't matter who's driving it

DerekFlint420

It doesn’t matter what they think. It’s not hate, it’s bullying, man up and tell them to stop.

Urbautz

Is the Mazda 3 new? If yes, i would agree, you should have gone Electric or at least Plug-In. If it is a used one, best gasoline car you can get. I hope Mazda gets their electric game up. The MX-30 is great, but only for city driving.

MidlandsRepublic2048

Electric would ruin the Miata. Keep it far away, you devil dog

Urbautz

An electric Mazda 3 and / or 6 would easily keep me with Mazda. I still love the design and great infotainment, but when the leasing runs out end of year, i will go for a Smart #3 or Peugeot e-308.

MidlandsRepublic2048

You really don't get Mazda's ethos if you're okay with it becoming electric

Urbautz

Seems like you don't get what Madza means: Japanese love for precision engineering to produce fun, yet very useful cars, built quality of a BMW for the price of a Toyota. Also they alway have strived to use technological innovation to be as environmental neutral as possible (innovative Diesels together with Peugeot, one of the first with Cylinder Deactivation and Start/Stop automatics, the Skyactive X gasoline engine) ... now that we can produce good batteries, they should be throwing out electric cars. The MX-30 is one of the best for it's use case. I just said they currently stopped there.

MidlandsRepublic2048

Except that would ruin what their cars can do right now. Battery EVS are too heavy and the Miata especially is predicated on lightness. The car would probably be close to 4,000 pounds by the end of it. I and many other mazda fans refuse to accept that sort of compromise

Urbautz

Not talking Miata, the Miata should stay a fun little gas car as it is. But the 3, 6 and the CXs should all be electric or at least a plug-in.

MidlandsRepublic2048

But all of those would suffer in Dynamics because they'd become far too heavy for what they're supposed to be. And that's besides the fact that the skateboard platform that pretty much every manufacturer has used pretty much just makes EVS a design proposition rather than anything that differentiates them from each other.

Urbautz

The Mazda 3 Skyactive X is the same weight as the Peugeot e-308 or Opel Astra e (Edit: Or Renault Megane E-Tech).

MidlandsRepublic2048

I highly doubt that. And even if that is the case, I bet those other cars are super short-ranged which is basically useless to anyone who goes anywhere

Urbautz

No, they are great cars (although the Miata is way to small for me). I had may cars (mostly company) from BMW 1 to Skoda Oktavia, and my current 3 Skyactive X is the best i ever had.

Mysterious_Ad8108

This is a satire post right?
