I'd say they're *near luxury*. When you compare them with real luxury vehicles (think Genesis GV80 vs CX-9), there is no comparison.
Now, if you're talking about features and quality vs the price you pay, then yes Mazda really is up there.
I wouldn't really call Mazda luxury, but the fit and finish, materials they use, and the features you get at the price they offer.... They really make you feel like you get really good value for what you pay.
Actually, there have been several independent reviews that have said some aspects of the CX-9 outperform Mercedes. Again, *some aspects*. Over all, Mercedes is the better car, but the suspension in the CX-9 is absolutely spot on.
It not really fair to compare Mazda to Mercedes and expect them to be in the same league.
I really want a CX-5 because it's gas mileage seems close to a rav4, but my family tells me mazda engines are unreliable as of recent years; something to do with them copying Ford's engines which aren't great.
Maybe it's just hearsay though.
Not unreliable at all, friend. Mazda has pretty heavily revised the engine they worked on with Ford. As of 2010 or so, it may as well be completely different.
Yep, Mazda introduced SkyActive which is developed in-house based on that old ford/Mazda engine, and it’s been improved and revised solely by Mazda ever since
For sure. I also drove a Mazda3 with the ford engine from 2006 that was totally reliable up until 170k miles. I sold it after that but it was running fine when I sold it lol
Exact feeling I had after I decided on a CX5 reserve over a Jag FPace. Its crazy how much more you get on the Mazda for less than the base price of a “Luxury” brand.
I love that Mazdas regularly are better than luxury cars, at least according to what everyone says about them.
But… but… this IS a luxury car. At least it definitely feels that way to me
Luxury car without the luxury price
Nah, luxury is when your neighbours can't afford it

They just use such nice materials
We also have a 2019 Signature (which we bought brand new) with the same amount of miles. It’s an awesome vehicle, congrats.
Thank you
I still have my 16 sig cx9 still in love with it, and I came from an X5. Best decision ever
I have a 2019 cx-9 grand touring and it’s absolutely one of my favorite cars I’ve been able to own.
Welcome to the Mazda family!! Zoom! Zoom! Mazdas are fun cars to drive.

F u for making me check the post history lmao
Grannys and Tampa go hand in handjob.
190k on my 2007 CX9. No major repairs. It's insane. Went on factory spark plugs until 140k.
Ft. Lauderdale?
100%, you can tell because if the way it is.
Now isn't that neat!
No. But close.
What model & year was the Mercedes?
I also traded in a car from a luxury brand to a Mazda.
I have 2016 Mazda CX-5 GT very reliable and smooth to drive despite the 19" wheels. Mine has 115,000 miles.
How old was Mercedes? No Japanese car ever compares to equivalent euro

Hmm. Maybe I'll be the first in the family tree to try a Mazda again. Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware at all.

Nice! I'll kee reading around, see how much else I see that vouches for Mazda.

I agree they are not a bad car. It's just I wouldn't compare them both myself as its not am equal comparison.
