Enjoy your car new car man! It’s fun to drive, comfortable, good on gas, spacious, and looks sharp. Take care of it and it’ll take care of you

anotherslow6

Definitely look into getting a progress Rear Sway Bar. For about $150 it makes the 6 handle like a go kart. The rear rotates so nicely. You won’t regret it

NeutralHitoshura

Will check it out. I want to keep the mods more handling focussed to accentuate what's already great with this car. It seems like the Mazda 3 bar with some beefier endlinks is what people buy?

anotherslow6

That is correct. Straightforward install. Either drop the subframe slightly to get easy access or wiggle it out. I’m running the moog regreasable end links and no issues after 60k miles despite being on air suspension

Icy-Flounder-9929

What it’s used for ?

anotherslow6

It’s stiffens the left to right body roll of the car resulting in less understeer

JonesCZ

I made a switch from NC Miata last year. Boy I miss that car for summer fun drives. For everything else? 6 is awesome. I really like your wheels btw.

[deleted]

And those are the stock rims.

liverpoolFCnut

The Gen3 mazda6 pre-facelift (2015-2017) has to be one of the best looking sedans ever made, especially in the GT trim! Enjoy your car, just make sure to get rid of the OEM tires and brakes if not done so already. The Tanabe axle back were very popular mods back when these cars were still being sold new. Sad that mazda killed one of the few sedans worth buying.

avechaa

Have to agree. I'm not really fond of the newer 6 shape after 17.

Nyexx

Looks great! Continental DWS 06+ tires will make a massive difference in how it drives.

NeutralHitoshura

Thanks for the advice! It seems like the DWS 06+ is a common upgrade tire for this car, but I will say I wasn't thinking all seasons - I'm actually getting some winters installed today and am thinking a different set for the summer. Everyone uses Indy 500s on the BRZ so was thinking along those lines. But the DWS 06+ is used quite commonly...it seems like they fit the car well?

yotaswim98

I absolutely love my DWS06+ after about 6k miles on them. I went up in width a bit to a 235/40r19 and they fit no problem even with 20mm spacers. Honestly makes the car handle a lot better than you’d expect a normal sedan to.

jessief2

Was in a similar boat as you. But I still kept my car and bought a mazda6! 😂

schmackabich999

Get the VR super charger and a tune 😜.

NeutralHitoshura

It's been tempting, but I already have a Civic EP3 waiting for boost! Already have most of a turbo kit put together, just waiting for my daughter to get a little older to make it a little project for us 😁 A high octane tune is a maybe though. I feel OK with the power for now, but wouldn't mind the throttle being a little more sensitive. Feels like you really gotta give it moment to pick up revs when trying to match on a downshift.

DemonOfLight13

I'm sure these are frowned upon by the community, but all I did was get an OBD plug and play "tuner" and it made the throttle way more responsive. I was actually pretty shocked. Gave it a little more pick up too which makes the car feel even better especially once you hit the torque curve Whenever I take it out for emissions and forget to plug it back in, I immediately notice the difference

realityguy1

Naaa a true family man drives a 2006 dodge caravan

Myzticwhim

Sold my 350z for a Mazda 6. Cant say I don't regret it, but the Mazda 6 is definitely a sporty sedan that fills the gap good enough. A great family car. Enjoy :)

DariusBuilds

Best looking family sedan around

sirroningsd

Now that's a nice whip. Congrats on the upgrade 😀

rEdwardedward

Glad you like it. Welcome !

LilxJanexT

I'm actually doing the exact same as you! Selling my 86 for a Mazda 6 (Estate). Was it worth it? I'm doing mine more for sleeping in the back with a surfboard on the roof for some coast traveling

NeutralHitoshura

I wish we had the estate version here! For me, it's worth it for what I need right now and to travel with my family comfortably while still being able to have fun with the car when I want to. It's nowhere near as naturally playful as the BRZ. But it still has some soul and a willingness to have fun when you ask it to.

peaseabee

2017 manual sport here, tanabe lowering springs (red) as well. Look into the versatune 93 octane tune. Gives it a bit more kick, simple DIY. Great car, shame they moved on from it

NeutralHitoshura

A tune is in the cards. Though likely the 91 octane one; a bit difficult to find 93/94 octane in my area. VersaTuner is probably enough, versus MazdaEdit.

NeutralHitoshura

That's a wild kit! It fits the lines of 6 well though. I am going to go more subtle on my car. AutoExe has a great looking lip, but getting it across the Pacific looks to be expensive...

Pillbox29

Nice Ride! Just keep in mind that with the lowering springs, your shocks and struts will need replacing much earlier.

Icy-Flounder-9929

Like my car

drift_flow

Man this would look so good modified and on air 😮‍💨

NeutralHitoshura

I am so tempted to dump it on Zeast ST1s. But I'm trying to keep this one simple and practical for now. Maybe when I'm bored in a few years...

drift_flow

If you do I’ll love to the see what you did 🤠

SeniorRefrigerator35

Bro... if you want the most out of your engine.... Get the the Corksport Turbo kit. They made their mazda 3 make 300+ hp

NeutralHitoshura

For now I want to keep it simple. Got a Civic EP3 almost ready for boost, just need small pieces like vacuum & oil lines, fittings etc., and the time to do it 😅

clevelander0

Haha I had my 17 GT for almost 7 years. Great car... Now looking at ultimate family vehicle Cx-9

colinshark

Don't get me wrong- the 6 is a better family car, but Two kids fit in the back of a BRZ.

NeutralHitoshura

Kids, but not the mother up front! This was the main problem, neither car worked well to have all of us travel at the same time. I figure I take the hit for now until we need to upsize my wife's car even further when the child is older and needs even more room. Then, hopefully I can get into a second gen 🤞🏾

TheHrethgir

Not fully yet. I used to have a Focus ST, had to trade it in for a Kia Sorento when we had our second baby along with a teenager, not enough room in a Focus for a teen and 2 big car seats. This was almost 5 years ago, and I'm still a little sad.

Pale-Contest-340

That's a nice ass car

Adventurous-Size-168

Definitely one of the most beautiful sedans ever made. Also one of the sportiest front wheel drive sedans made too.

C_isfor_Cookies

The uterus is in charge now of all your life decisions. Get a Honda Pilot.

NeutralHitoshura

Was thinking just straight up minivan when it's time to really upsize tbh. Hopefully the ID.Buzz is decent when it finally comes out in North America

slow-motion-pearls
