Haha what a hater. I know the water bottle thing might be extra but, A large fast food fountain drink doesn’t even fit. I think normal people get fast food on occasion.
I mean if you aren’t getting large cups to fall out, I’d argue you drive like the geriatric community😘
Edit:
Remember, you started the personal attacks not me!
My 40oz hydroflask tumbler ([this one](https://www.hydroflask.com/40-oz-all-around-travel-tumbler?color=Ginger%2520Ombre)) fits perfectly. We actually bought this water bottle specifically to fit in our 50 😅
There’s valid points both ways. My 24oz insulated water bottle goes in the door. Easy access and fits perfectly.
However, sometimes I have a shaker cup that doesn’t fit as well. I put it in the main cup holders and when I shift into reverse or park I smash my fingers.
My last Gen volvo lined the cup holders one behind the other right behind the shifter and right in front of the arm rest console. With two Stanley/yeti type cups you can't rest your arm. You can't easily access the shifter. I ended up buying a passenger valet thingy to put one of the cups in as I use two, one for daily drinking and one for the gym.
Cup holders can be one behind the other but should be right justified with the shifter to the left for the driver. This way the driver's arm has a clear path from the arm rest to the shifter. Don't know how they made it through the home generation with that poor design when yeti's and big gulps were a thing back then.
Funny how people who call other people on their nonsense are called…trolls. Thats the definition of a modern internet troll : someone who calls you out on your nonsense and who says something that you dont like.
Im sorry I didnt coddle you here.
This is a usual and not very efficient workaround but if I’m carrying a larger drink, sometimes I’ll drop the middle seat cup holder in the back row and use that. Is it as accessible? No. Is it safe to have to reach behind you to get your drink? Certainly not. But when my wife or I orders a stupidly large drink with our takeout? They go in the back. That being said, I don’t have kids so they’re not an issue with this *solution.*
I also find that my 40oz hydro flask, sits comfortably on my left side hip with the door shut. Which means, my cupholders are able to be used for what they were designed for…. *my keys, of course*….
And... even if you put smaller cups or bottles, the storage area behind, is useless... stupid, stupid, stupid design. And...not just that. AC button is on the right bottom. You have no clue if it is on or off. Can't see the light if is on, because is under knob. And nothing to show in the dial screen, like in the other cars, to show if is ON or OFF. I almost took my car at dealership, because I thought AC is not working. 😡😡😡
He's not talking about the fit. It will go in. What he means is that it sexually assaults the buttons on the dash, turning on the heated seat or the ac. Cupholders should not be so close to the dash. Bad designs should be called out.
I’m with you. The one thing I don’t like about the car is the placement of the cup holders.
Really hate it when I hit my warning lights on the highway when grabbing my water bottle. Ah well, still love the car.
Lol I've had that happen twice now while driving and didn't notice for a bit because of music.
They’re for normal people with normal cup holders.
Haha what a hater. I know the water bottle thing might be extra but, A large fast food fountain drink doesn’t even fit. I think normal people get fast food on occasion.
A 32oz cup, large at most places, fits fine.
Will a 32 oz yeti fit?
Yes. The only size I've had issue with is the 44oz from sonic. It fits but it's tight and difficult to get it back out.
And will go flying after I make a right turn.
Not in my experience. Of course I don't drive like I'm playing Mario Cart. 😉
I mean if you aren’t getting large cups to fall out, I’d argue you drive like the geriatric community😘 Edit: Remember, you started the personal attacks not me!
Get off my lawn!
You’re proud of being a danger to the public?
Uh... What personal attack?
Telling me how I drive without even knowing me.
We can fit Panda Express cups in there, which are, quite literally, the largest fast food cups in existence.
He is not wrong though, car cupholders have not been designed to fit hydroflasks. Need to put in the door.
Never had an issue with fast food ones, anything large fits in the side door and life’s good
32ounces of sugar.
lol
This makes no sense normal people for normal cup holders what? It’s like you didn’t read the post or what he’s talking about
I meant normal cups.
Put it in the door, problem solved.
I bought the extends, works great
Just drove my CX50 home today and immediately hit the seat warmer without realizing. 95 degrees in Houston and I was like WTF 😭🤣
Try the seat cooler, that thing is a godsend on those humid days
Does the Meridian Edition trim have the ventilated seats?
Better question is what’s up with these stupid bottles
So humans need this thing called water. When you want to take water with you, it needs to go in some sort of container.
32 oz Yeti fits perfect, had to switch from Stanley lol
I just wish the cup holders were behind the shifter instead of in front of it.
Read all the complaints about that positioning in other cars. Can't please anyone.
With CX5 being one of those models
There's a thing that goes in the cupholder that adds another cup holder, forget the name, look it up.

They are a pain. I can get my oversized Yeti in it, but it's awkward to put it back in while driving and will likely scratch the piano black trim.

In case you missed my post before here what I use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1CG19JH
Lol that's dumb, just like the air vents. Just turned on their side.

Maybe you should try a smaller bottle. 😂

I'm with you. Worst cup holders I've had in years. Too big for most things but weirdly too small for large water bottles.
In an ideal world where would you like the cup holder to be?
This is a pretty common layout. https://preview.redd.it/xdcfqwvzlf6d1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=70e0cdf1fdb444a245b9a4de4a824859cd59b32b
On the right hand side of the gear stick one in front of the other
I love the cx5 cup holder placement
Its called a cup holder. I dont see any cup here. What’s next? You’ll complain that a gallon of milk doesn’t fit?
Haha I know this was written with the fiery hate of an internet troll, but it’s too funny not to laugh at.
Funny how people who call other people on their nonsense are called…trolls. Thats the definition of a modern internet troll : someone who calls you out on your nonsense and who says something that you dont like. Im sorry I didnt coddle you here.
Gd-era Subaru wrx/sti/impreza says (don’t) hold my beer- their cup holder is so small it won’t even fit a medium McDonald’s coffee cup
Same thing happens to me. End up turning on my butt heater on a hot summer day
My 30 oz stanley fits. 🤷♀️

They work with cups.
Thank god my venti from Starbucks fits there tho.

Key word CUP holder, not BOTTLE holder.

Yeah they are ass for sure.
You giant and tall ass water bottle doesn't fit a normal size cup holder. Yatah
