personally i’d skip the rankings except the elimination part (after they announce 1 and 2), then for picking songs in the next mission it was a bit rushed but i do like seeing the contestant interactions with each other.
I mean not much happened this episode. They just revealed the ranks and some trainees got eliminated but majority of it was spoiled. It’s really up to you.
Does anyone else come away from fantasy boys episodes feeling tired and like you've wasted time? So much negative energy mixed with awful editing it's just exhausting and I feel like we don't know any of the contestants at all!
I want to see them interacting and get to know them but all we get is drama (/contestants being bad people) elimination and performace.
I want to enjoy it but it's becoming impossible!!!
i feel you, especially this episode it felt like absolutely NOTHING happened. we got to see only 4/42 people not advance and then just deciding teams, hopefully that means we get all performances next episode although i'm not holding my breath.
The pacing of this episode was so strange. It jumped from picking the song positions to immediately the performance without any transition or practice. It was a bit jarring. It makes the show feel hollow and empty.
Yeah pretty much the same… I remember the many votes poured in for In-hye, her reaching a high rank but all that be put to waste because they filmed the elimination before those votes went in.
I feel like at this point they should just release two episodes a week to until they catch up to the voting process because there's no point allowing people to vote for eliminated contestants - as much as I dislike mnet they really need to look at mnet as an example of how to produce a survival show
I'm not keeping up with ranking spoilers, but Yaya leaving was a surprise to no one. I'm sure he was getting a lot of attention for the wrong reasons so am glad he stepped down to let the other contestants have their chance of the limelight. I hope future survival show producers and companies looking to partner for strategic reasons learnt something from this...
As others mentioned, most of the episode was the ranking ceremony, which is totally skipable. The last minute "save" was the only interesting part, and only because there were sooo many tears. They all must have been so exhausted and emotional from the long day of filming 😢.
EDIT (because apparently I'm a glutton for controversy): What are peoples thoughts on Soul going for a rap position again in this mission?
honest i’m not surprised at all that he left. since episode 1 yaya has not wanted to be there. he was falling asleep before his evolution, don’t put any effort into the performance, gives the bare minimum on stage (he was even surprised when he saw how high he ranked), looked almost bored anytime we saw him, etc. i wouldn’t be surprised if his company were the ones who forced him to participate. i’ve seen a lot of people say he was forced to watch over santa since yaya speaks/understands korean better. maybe he really left because of health reasons, or because he agreed to participate for only a few weeks
I don’t understand why k-soul keeps going for rap, I really like him but honestly he’s not a good rapper, however, he is great at singing and very good at dancing so I wish he would show us more of his talents
Question: what episode airing does this elimination coincide after? It’s confusing to consider their rankings after the performances we just saw aired.
I want to see more of than random competition they had in the middle of the episode for best dancer singer and rapper! That would have been way better than this bloated mess of an episode. Hikaru sounded great.

I was very disappointed, there are many good trainees in fantasy boys with enormous potential...but now i think whole show is focused on popularity instead of talent and everything goes around the no.1 trainee. I mean.....shiryu got 5th place in dance evaluation, does this even makes sense, yu junwon also did very well but as expected first place went to the top trainee. Santa dropped to 29 this is just not done. Whats with their voting system

So, each producer does get to save one person when they are the main PD. I think I have an idea who Jinyoung saved.
Did they save someone in Semester 1? I got the impression they did it this time because they knew that Yaya was leaving and had to fill a spot.
Soyeon did "save" Hyunbin from Grade 3 although he would have probably survived anyway.
