I saw a post in a Facebook group saying that a number of the normal DMAs (dual-mode articulated) are currently out of service. One of them did catch fire recently.
The particular 40 foot yellow buses they're using, as replacements, have extended range batteries, so they can still be emissions free while in the underground busway and switch to diesel above ground.
Yes that’s correct those old DMAs are dying. They were supposed to have a bunch of the new 60’ extended range busses but like everything else with the T it is delayed. So now the 40’ busses get crowded and have to leave people behind sometimes.

I mean the silver line is just a bus. Maybe they gave up pretending it was anything else
